[0009] DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS The present invention will be described below with reference to the accompanying drawings. Note that the embodiments shown in the accompanying drawings are merely examples of the present invention, and the present invention is not limited to these embodiments.
[0010] Example 1 The first embodiment will be described with reference to the drawings.
[0011] Please refer to Fig. 1. The lighting device 20 is mounted, for example, in an air conditioning outlet device Ao of a vehicle. The air conditioning outlet device Ao is used as an outlet device of a vehicle air conditioner. The air conditioning outlet device Ao is provided, for example, in the front part of the vehicle compartment and blows air toward the occupants.
[0012] Referring to Fig. 2, the air-conditioning outlet device Ao has a housing 10 into which air is blown, and the housing 10 supports a lighting device 20.
[0013] The housing 10 has an inlet 11 through which blown air is introduced, an outlet 12 facing the interior of the vehicle and blowing air toward the interior, a narrow section 13 formed between the inlet 11 and the outlet 12 and having an area smaller than that of the outlet 12, and inner wall sections 15 and 16 extending approximately parallel to the upper and lower surfaces of the resin member 30 from the narrow section 13 to the outlet 12.
[0014] Referring to Fig. 1, the air outlet 12 has a substantially rectangular shape. Hereinafter, a direction parallel to a long side 12a of the air outlet 12 (the vehicle width direction in this embodiment) will be referred to as a first direction, and a direction parallel to a short side 12b, which is a side shorter than the long side 12a (the up-down direction in this embodiment), will be referred to as a second direction.
[0015] In the case of the air-conditioning air outlet device Ao in which the air outlet 12 is long in the vertical direction, the first direction is the vertical direction and the second direction is the vehicle width direction (and / or the vehicle front-rear direction). Alternatively, the first direction may be the vehicle front-rear direction and the second direction may be the vertical direction (or the vehicle width direction).
[0016] Referring to Fig. 2, the lighting device 20 includes a resin member 30 provided inside the housing 10, a first drive mechanism 40 that displaces the resin member 30 along the airflow direction, a second drive mechanism 50 that swings the resin member 30 up and down (in a direction parallel to the short side of the air outlet), and lighting units 60 and 70 that can illuminate the downstream end of the resin member 30.
[0017] Referring to Fig. 1, the resin member 30 constitutes a part of the lighting device 20, and is a member that adjusts the volume and direction of the air blown out from the air outlet 12. The resin member 30 is provided across the first direction.
[0018] 2. In the air blowing mode, the resin member 30 is located between the narrow portion 13 and the air outlet 12 and at approximately the center of the air outlet 12 with respect to the second direction. The resin member 30 has a shape in which a substantially fan-shaped cross section extends in the first direction. The resin member 30 has a pin portion 32 formed at the upstream end and connected to a round hole in the first drive mechanism 40, tapered portions 33, 33 extending so as to widen downstream from the pin portion 32, a connecting portion 34 formed in an arc shape so as to connect the downstream ends of the tapered portions 33, 33, and a decorative portion 35 overlapping the connecting portion 34 and illuminated by the lighting units 60, 70.
[0019] Also see Figure 3. The rear surface (upstream surface) of the connecting portion 34 is formed in an arch shape. The side surface of the connecting portion 34 extends linearly from the pin portion 32 on an extension line of the tapered portions 33, 33.
[0020] Hereinafter, the portions of the surface (downstream surface) of connecting portion 34 that are closest to illumination units 60, 70 (see FIG. 2) are referred to as reference surface portions 34o. The downstream surface of connecting portion 34 is composed of reference surface portion 34o and step portions 34a-34c that are formed in a stepped shape so as to protrude from reference surface portion 34o. Step portions 34a-34c may have two steps, or four or more steps.
[0021] The amount by which step portions 34a-34c protrude from reference surface portion 34o increases with increasing distance from lighting units 60, 70 (see FIG. 2). Step portions 34a-34c each have riser portions 34a1-34c1 that rise from reference surface portion 34o or adjacent step portions 34a, 34b, and tread portions 34a2-34c2 that extend substantially perpendicularly from the ends of riser portions 34a1-34c1. Riser portions 34a1-34c1 extend in a direction that intersects with the light emitted by lighting units 60, 70, while tread portions 34a2-34c2 extend in a direction that follows the light emitted by lighting units 60, 70.
[0022] The angles formed by the risers 34a1 to 34c1 and the treads 34a2 to 34c2 are preferably 90° or greater. A reflective material or the like can be provided on the step portions 34a to 34c (at least the portions including the angles formed by the risers 34a1 to 34c1 and the treads 34a2 to 34c2) to more easily reflect light. The reflective material can be made of evaporated metal, paint, or tape.
[0023] Although the surface of connecting portion 34 is illustrated as being arc-shaped, it may be formed linearly. Tapered portion 33 and connecting portion 34 may be an integrated, single member. The lengths of risers 34a1-34c1 and tread portions 34a2-34c2 may be the same or may differ for each step. Step portions 34b, 34b sandwiching step portion 34c may have different shapes or the same shape. The same applies to step portions 34a, 34a.
[0024] The decorative portion 35 is made of a transparent material such as acrylic or glass. The back surface of the decorative portion 35 is formed in a concave shape that follows the shapes of the steps 34a to 34c of the connecting portion 34. This allows the decorative portion 35 to be in close contact with the connecting portion 34. The side surface of the decorative portion 35 extends linearly from the pin portion 32. The surface of the decorative portion 35 is formed in an arc shape with the pin portion 32 as its center.
[0025] The decorative portion 35 may be a smoky, semi-transparent material. When a semi-transparent material is used, it is possible to diffuse light. The boundary portions between the risers 34a1 to 34c1 and the tread portions 34a2 to 34c2, based on the longitudinal direction, do not have to be formed in a straight line. They may be formed in a predetermined pattern or in the shape of letters.
[0026] 1. The first drive mechanism 40 includes, for example, a first motor 41 which is a stepping motor that operates when energized, a 1-1 gear 42 which is a gear that rotates when the first motor 41 operates, a first shaft member 43 which is a shaft that passes through the 1-1 gear 42 and is rotatably supported by the housing 10, and a 1-2 gear 44 which is a gear fixed to each end of the first shaft member 43 and rotates when the 1-1 gear 42 rotates.
[0027] See Figure 2. The first drive mechanism 40 further includes a 1-3 gear 45 that meshes with the 1-2 gear 44, and a rack portion 46 that meshes with the 1-3 gear 45 and converts rotational motion into linear motion. The rack portion 46 has a round hole at its tip, and is connected to the resin member 30 via this hole. The resin member 30 is connected to the rack portion 46 so that it can swing.
[0028] Referring to Figure 1, the gear provided on the first motor 41 is referred to as a first drive gear 41a for transmitting the driving force of the first motor 41.
[0029] It should be noted that a motor other than a stepping motor can also be used as the first motor 41. Furthermore, the gears 42, 44, and 45 (see FIG. 2 for the 1-3 gear 45) that transmit the driving force of the first motor 41 to the rack portion 46 may be configured with one or two gears, or may be configured with four or more gears.
[0030] Also see Figure 2. When the first motor 41 is activated based on information from the temperature sensor, an operation by the occupant, or the like, the 1-1 gear 42, the first shaft member 43, the 1-2 gear 44, and the 1-3 gear 45 rotate. This causes the rack portion 46 to displace along the airflow direction, and the resin member 30 to displace along the airflow direction. In other words, the resin member 30 displaces along the flow path.
[0031] 4. The second drive mechanism 50 includes, for example, a second motor 51 which is a stepping motor that operates when power is applied, a 2-1 gear 52 which is a gear that rotates when the second motor 51 operates, a sector gear 53 which is a sector gear that rotates when the 2-1 gear 52 rotates, a 2-2 gear 54 which meshes with the sector gear 53 and rotates when the sector gear 53 rotates, and a resin member support portion 56 which can rotate in conjunction with the 2-2 gear 54 and can support the resin member 30.
[0032] It should be noted that a motor other than a stepping motor can also be used as the second motor 51. Furthermore, the gears 52 to 54 that transmit the driving force of the second motor 51 to the resin member support portion 56 may be configured with one or two gears, or may be configured with four or more gears. Furthermore, the gears do not have to include a sector gear.
[0033] The resin member support portion 56 is connected to the resin member 30 in the air-blowing mode and is displaced from the resin member 30 in the air-blowing stop mode. In other words, the resin member 30 is provided displaceably with respect to the resin member support portion 56 so as to be connected to the resin member support portion 56 in the air-blowing mode and be separated from the resin member support portion 56 in the air-blowing stop mode.
[0034] When the second motor 51 is activated based on information from a temperature sensor, an operation by a passenger, or the like, the 2-1 gear 52, the 2-2 gear 52, the sector gear 53, the 2-3 gear 54, and the resin member support part 56 rotate. When the resin member 30 is in an air blowing mode in which it can blow air, the resin member 30 swings together with the resin member support part 56 in the second direction.
[0035] The second driving mechanism 50 may be any mechanism that can displace the resin member 30 in the second direction. That is, the second driving mechanism 50 may be a mechanism that moves the resin member 30 linearly in the second direction.
[0036] See Figure 2. The lighting units 60, 70 are provided on both the lower and upper parts of the resin member 30. When the resin member 30 is displaced in the direction along the flow path and in the second direction, at least one of the lighting units 60, 70 always illuminates the decorative unit 35. Hereinafter, the lighting unit 60 located below the resin member 30 will be referred to as the lower lighting unit 60, and the lighting unit 70 located above the resin member 30 will be referred to as the upper lighting unit 70. The lighting units 60, 70 are provided flush with the inner wall units 15, 16 and do not protrude toward the flow path side.
[0037] The illumination units 60 and 70 do not necessarily have to be provided on both the top and bottom sides, but may be provided on only one side, either the top or bottom, of the resin member 30.
[0038] The lower illumination section 60 has a light source 61 that is turned on when power is applied, and a light guide 62 that guides light from the light source 61 toward the decorative section 35. The light guide 62 is provided facing the entire resin member 30 along the first direction. A portion of the inner wall section 25 facing the tip of the light guide 62 is open. The position of the light source 61 and the shape of the light guide 62 can be changed as appropriate depending on the irradiation position and irradiation range.
[0039] The upper illumination section 70 has the same configuration as the lower illumination section 60. The upper illumination section 70 has a light source 71 that is turned on when power is applied, and a light guide 72 that guides light from the light source 71 toward the decorative section 35. The light guide 72 is provided facing the entire resin member 30 along the first direction. A portion of the inner wall section 26 facing the tip of the light guide 72 is open. The position of the light source 71 and the shape of the light guide 72 can be changed as appropriate depending on the irradiation position and irradiation range.
[0040] For example, LEDs can be used for the light sources 61 and 71. Furthermore, for example, acrylic can be used for the light guides 62 and 72.
[0041] The light sources 61 and 71 may be provided so as to be displaceable relative to the resin member 30 .
[0042] Next, the functions of the air-conditioning outlet device Ao and the lighting device 20 will be described.
[0043] 2 shows the air conditioning air outlet device Ao in the air blowing mode. In the normal air blowing mode, the resin member 30 is located between the narrow portion 23 and the air outlet 22 and approximately in the middle of the flow path with respect to the second direction. In the normal air blowing mode, air blown from an air conditioner (not shown) is divided into upper and lower parts by the resin member 30 and blown out from the air outlet 22 in the upper and lower directions.
[0044] See Figure 5. When switching from the air blowing mode to the air blowing stop mode, the first fin mechanism 40 is operated to displace the resin member 30 upstream. When the resin member 30 abuts against the narrow portion 23, the flow path is blocked and air blowing is stopped. In other words, air is no longer blown out from the air outlet 22.
[0045] When changing from the air blowing stop mode to the air blowing mode, the first motor 41 is rotated in the reverse direction, whereby the resin member 30 is displaced downstream, and air can be blown into the vehicle compartment.
[0046] Even in the air blowing mode, the wind speed of the blown air can be adjusted by moving the position of the resin member 30. Fine adjustment of the position in the air blowing mode will be described later.
[0047] See Figure 4. When the resin member 30 is in the air blowing mode, the second fin mechanism 50 can be operated to swing the resin member 30. Depending on the orientation of the resin member 30, the proportion of the air passing above and below the resin member 30 changes, and the direction of the air blowing changes.
[0048] More specifically, the rotation of the second motor 51 causes the 2-1 gear 52 and the sector gear 53 to rotate. The rotation of the sector gear 53 causes the 2-2 gear 54 and the resin member support portion 56 to rotate. The rotation of the resin member support portion 56 causes the resin member 30 to rotate as well. This causes the orientation of the resin member 30 to change.
[0049] Please refer to Figures 6A and 6B. Figures 6A and 6B show a simplified view of the lighting device 20 according to the first embodiment. In the state shown in Figure 6A, all of the step portions 34a to 34c of the resin member 30 are within the illumination range IA of the lighting units 60 and 70. At this time, light is reflected at the corners of the step portions 34a to 34c, and an occupant (viewer) sees three lines of light on the top and bottom.
[0050] Please refer to Figures 7A and 7B. Figures 7A and 7B show a simplified view of the lighting device 20 according to the first embodiment. The resin member 30 shown in Figure 7A has moved downstream relative to the resin member 30 shown in Figure 6A. In the state shown in Figure 7A, only one step portion 34a of the resin member 30 is within the illumination range IA. The step portions 34b and 34c are located outside the illumination range IA. At this time, light is reflected at the corner of the step portion 34a, and an occupant (viewer) sees two lines of light, one above and one below.
[0051] It is not necessary that all of the step portions 34a to 34c are within the illumination range IA at the same time. That is, the step portions 34a to 34c may be formed to have large steps so that some step portions (e.g., 34c) leave the illumination range IA before other step portions (e.g., 34a) enter the illumination range IA. In this case, the illuminated areas change due to the displacement.
[0052] 6C and 6D, a comparative example of illumination device 120 is shown in simplified form. As shown in FIG. 6C, in illumination device 120 according to the comparative example, step portions 134a to 134c are formed to be recessed from reference surface portion 34o.
[0053] 6C, all of the step portions 134a to 134c of the resin member 130 are within the illumination range IA of the illumination units 60 and 70. However, the light emitted from the illumination units 60 and 70 is blocked by the side surfaces of the resin member 130 and does not strike the step portions 134a to 134c. As a result, the light is not reflected at the corners of the step portions 134a to 134c, and the occupant (viewer) does not see vertical linear light.
[0054] <Example 2> Next, a second embodiment will be described with reference to the drawings.
[0055] 7 shows a main part of an illumination device 20A according to Example 2. The illumination device 20A according to Example 2 differs from the illumination device according to Example 1 (FIG. 6A, reference numeral 20) in the shape of the stepped portions 34Aa to 34Ac. The other basic configuration is common to the illumination device according to Example 1. The reference numerals are used for the parts common to Example 1, and detailed description thereof will be omitted.
[0056] The lighting device 20A has a resin member 30A that is a resin member that is displaceable relative to the illumination range IA (see FIG. 6A). The resin member 30A has a connecting portion 34A that connects the tapered portion 33 (see FIG. 3) and the decorative portion 35.
[0057] Of the surface (downstream surface) of connecting portion 34A, the portions closest to illumination units 60, 70 (see FIG. 2) are referred to as reference surface portions 34Ao. The downstream surface of connecting portion 34A is composed of reference surface portion 34Ao and step portions 34Aa to 34Ac formed in a stepped shape so as to protrude from reference surface portion 34Ao.
[0058] The amount by which the step portions 34Aa to 34Ac protrude from the reference surface portion 34o increases with increasing distance from the lighting units 60, 70 (see FIG. 2). The step portions 34Aa to 34Ac have riser portions 34Aa1 to 34Ac1 that rise from the reference surface portion 34Ao or the adjacent step portions 34Aa, 34Ab, respectively, and tread portions 34Aa2 to 34Ac2 that extend substantially perpendicularly from the ends of these riser portions 34Aa1 to 34Ac1.
[0059] The dashed lines indicate planes parallel to the light emitted from the lighting units 60, 70 (see FIG. 2). That is, the risers 34Aa1 to 34Ac1 and the tread portions 34Aa2 to 34Ac2 are both tilted with respect to the emitted light.
[0060] More specifically, the risers 34Aa1-34Ac1 are inclined away from the lighting units 60, 70 (see FIG. 2) as they approach their tips. The treads 34Aa2-34Ac2 are also inclined downward from the tips of the risers. This makes it appear to the occupant that only the corners between the risers 34Aa1-34Ac1 and the treads 34Aa2-34Ac2 are particularly bright. No light is projected onto the treads 34Aa2-34Ac2.
[0061] The lighting devices 20 and 20A described above will be summarized below.
[0062] Referring to Fig. 6A, first, lighting device 20 has lighting units 60, 70 that can be turned on, and resin member 30, which is a resin member that can be displaced relatively with respect to illumination range IA illuminated by lighting units 60, 70. Resin member 30 has a plurality of stepped portions 34a-34c that are formed in a stepped shape. Step portions 34a-34c protrude more with increasing distance from lighting units 60, 70 so that they can reflect light from lighting units 60, 70 when positioned within illumination range IA.
[0063] The resin member 30 has a plurality of step portions 34a to 34c that reflect light when positioned within the illumination range IA. In addition, the resin member 30 is provided so as to be displaceable relative to the illumination units 60 and 70. See also FIGS. 6B, 7A, and 7B. The step portions 34a to 34c that reflect light change depending on the position of the resin member 30 relative to the illumination range IA. In other words, the pattern, etc. seen by the viewer changes depending on the position of the resin member 30 relative to the illumination units 60 and 70. The pattern, etc. seen by the viewer can be changed, further improving the design. A lighting device 20 with excellent design can be provided. The same applies to the lighting device 20A (see FIG. 8).
[0064] See Fig. 2. Secondly, the first lighting device 20 further includes a first drive mechanism 40 that is connected to the resin member 30 and displaces the resin member 30 toward the illumination range IA. This makes it easier to displace the resin member 30 relative to the lighting units 60 and 70. The same applies to the lighting device 20A (see Fig. 8).
[0065] Thirdly, in the second lighting device 20, the first drive mechanism 40 has a first motor 41 that generates a driving force in a rotational direction when energized, gears 42, 44, 45 that rotate when the first motor 41 is operated, and a rack portion 46 that converts the rotational motion of the gears 42, 44, 45 into linear motion and is connected to the resin member 30. This makes it possible to move the resin member 30 to a more accurate position. The same applies to the lighting device 20A (see FIG. 8).
[0066] Also see Fig. 4. Fourth, either the second or third lighting device 20 further includes a second drive mechanism 50 that can displace the resin member 30 in a second direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the resin member 30 when at least a portion of the step portions 34a to 34c is located within the illumination range IA, where the longitudinal direction of the resin member 30 is defined as a first direction. Being able to displace the resin member 30 in the second direction also allows for further enhancement of design. The same applies to the lighting device 20A (see Fig. 8).
[0067] Fifth, in the fourth lighting device 20, the second drive mechanism 50 can move the resin member 30 to a more accurate position, the second drive mechanism 50 including a second motor 51 that generates a driving force in a rotational direction when energized, gears 52 to 54 that rotate when the second motor 51 is operated, and a resin member support part 56 that can rotate in conjunction with the gears 52 to 54 and can support the resin member 30. The same applies to the lighting device 20A (see FIG. 8).
[0068] Referring to Fig. 8, in a sixth aspect of the lighting device 20A of any of the first to fifth aspects, the step portions 34Aa-34Ac have risers 34Aa1-34Ac1 that rise from adjacent portions and tread portions 34Aa2-34Ac2 that extend from the ends of the risers 34Aa1-34Ac1. In addition, the tread portions 34Aa2-34Ac2 slope downward from the ends of the risers 34Aa1-34Ac1 and are inclined with respect to the light emitted from the lighting units 60, 70 (see Fig. 6A).
[0069] This allows the viewer to perceive that only the corners between the risers 34Aa1 to 34Ac1 and the treads 34Aa2 to 34Ac2 are particularly shiny. By clearly separating the areas that are recognized by the viewer, the design can be further improved.
[0070] See Fig. 1. Seventh, there is shown an air-conditioning air outlet device Ao equipped with any one of the first to sixth lighting devices 20. By installing the lighting device 20 in the air-conditioning air outlet device Ao, it is possible to improve the design of the vehicle interior. The same applies to the lighting device 20A (see Fig. 8).
[0071] Although the lighting device according to the present invention has been described based on an example in which it is installed in an air-conditioning outlet device, it can also be applied to the lid of a small compartment or a console box provided in a vehicle. Furthermore, it can also be used in exterior parts and devices other than vehicles, regardless of whether it is an interior part of a vehicle. In other words, the present invention is not limited to the examples, as long as the functions and effects of the present invention are achieved. [Industrial Applicability]
