Description

Technical Field

[0001] The present invention relates to a card game tool.

Background Art

[0002] Generally, card game tools are known for competitive card games such as playing cards and karuta that compete for victory or defeat using cards. On the other hand, a card game that determines a ranking by arranging cards in a determined place is also conceivable.

[0003] By replacing the cards with common weeds, which are familiar plants, the scope of use of the card game can be connected to the names of the weeds and the ecology of the weeds throughout the year, and it can be extended to preventing the decline of cognitive ability by playing the game.

Summary of the Invention

Problems to be Solved by the Invention

[0005] An object of the present invention is to provide a card game tool that enables understanding of the names of weeds and the ecology of weeds throughout the four seasons.

Means for Solving the Problems

[0006] The present invention provides a card game comprising: multiple types of subcards displaying different seasons; multiple types of basic cards displaying at least a season and a plant; a base with subcard slots for placing subcards and multiple basic card slots for placing basic cards; a basic card that can be placed in a basic card slot on the base when the season displayed on a subcard placed in a subcard slot on the base matches the season displayed on a basic card selected by a player; multiple players take turns drawing basic cards, and the player's ranking is determined when all basic cards have been placed in the basic card slots.

[0007] The subcards include multiple types of first subcards displaying different seasons and multiple types of second subcards displaying different walking paths. The base has a subcard frame, which includes a first subcard frame where the first subcards are placed and a second subcard frame where the second subcards are placed. The base card further displays a walking path. The card game equipment provides a system in which a base card can be placed in the base's base's base card frame if the season displayed on the first subcard placed in the base's first subcard frame matches the season and walking path displayed on the second subcard placed in the base's second subcard frame, and the season and walking path displayed on the base card selected by the player match.

[0008] The card game set further includes a die with numbers from 1 to 6 displayed on each face, and multiple basic card slots on the base, each numbered from 1 to 6. A player can place a basic card in a basic card slot if the number on the face of the die matches the number on the basic card slot. A basic card slot marked with 1 can only hold a basic card if the face of the die is 1. A basic card slot marked with a number other than 1 cannot hold a basic card unless a basic card is already placed in a basic card slot with a smaller number than the number on that slot.

[0009] The basic cards have no front or back; the visible top side is used as the front in the game. The basic cards are divided into six groups, each representing a walking path, and each group has a common colored border.

[0010] The first sub-card uses cards that divide the seasons into three-month periods: spring, summer, autumn, and winter.

[0011] The walking paths on the second sub-card are divided into six groups suited to environments where wildflowers can grow: footpaths in rural areas, paths along rice paddy ridges, riverbank paths, open field paths, street corner alleys, and garden paths.

[0012] This card game provides a mechanism where the numbers on a die, from 1 to 6, are replaced with distances, and the base card frame displays these distances from 1 to 6. [Effects of the Invention]

[0013] We can provide a card game that helps people understand the names of common wild plants, their growing environments, and their growth patterns. [Brief explanation of the drawing]

Mode for Carrying Out the Invention

[0015] The card game device includes a plurality of types of sub - cards (see FIG. 13) with different seasons displayed, a plurality of types of basic cards (see FIG. 7 etc.) with at least seasons and plants displayed, a sub - card frame where the sub - cards are arranged, and a base (see FIG. 15) with a plurality of basic - card frames where the basic cards can be arranged. When the season displayed on the sub - card arranged in the sub - card frame of the base matches the season displayed on the basic card selected by the player, the basic card can be arranged in the basic - card frame of the base. A plurality of players draw basic cards in order, and when all the basic cards are arranged in the basic - card frames, it is regarded as the end, and the rankings of the players are determined.

[0016] The subcards of the card game include multiple types of first subcards (see Figure 13) displaying different seasons and multiple types of second subcards (see Figure 14) displaying different walking paths. The base (see Figure 15) has subcard frames, including a first subcard frame where the first subcards are placed and a second subcard frame where the second subcards are placed. The basic cards (see Figure 7, etc.) also display walking paths. When the season displayed on the first subcard placed in the first subcard frame of the base and the walking path displayed on the second subcard placed in the second subcard frame match the season and walking path displayed on the basic card selected by the player, that basic card can be placed in the basic card frame of the base.

[0017] The card game set further includes a die (173) with numbers from 1 to 6 displayed on each face, and multiple basic card slots on the base, each numbered from 1 to 6. A player can place a basic card in a basic card slot if the number on the face of the die (173) matches the number on the basic card slot. A basic card slot marked with 1 can only hold a basic card if the number on the face of the die (173) is 1. A basic card slot marked with a number other than 1 cannot hold a basic card unless a basic card is already placed in a basic card slot marked with a smaller number than the number on that slot.

[0018] The basic cards, called wildflower cards, have no front or back; the visible top side is used as the front in the game. The basic cards are divided into six groups, each corresponding to a walking path, and each group is surrounded by one of six common colored borders.

[0019] The first sub-cards are called seasonal cards (140), and include Spring Cards (March-May) (141) covering March to May, Summer Cards (June-August) (142) covering June to August, Autumn Cards (September-November) (143) covering September to November, and Winter Cards (December-February) (144) covering December to February.

[0020] The second set of cards is called the walking path card (150), and includes the rural side path card (151), field path card (152), riverbank path card (153), field footpath card (154), street corner alley card (155), and garden path card (156).

[0021] The base is called the walking base (160), and the sub-card slots are divided into two slots: the first sub-card slot is the seasonal card slot (161) and the second sub-card slot is the walking path card slot (162). The basic card slots consist of six consecutive wildflower card slots for the outward journey from 1km to 6km, and six consecutive wildflower card slots for the return journey from 7km to 12km.

[0022] As an example of the basic wild plant cards, the wild plant lists consist of a list of wild plants along mountain paths (10), a list of wild plants along field paths (20), a list of wild plants along riverbank paths (30), a list of wild plants along open field paths (40), a list of wild plants in street corner alleys (50), and a list of wild plants along garden paths (60). However, since the wild plants covered in this embodiment can be added, separate wild plant cards can also be prepared.

[0023] The game involves rolling dice (173) to arrange cards in their designated slots, so it can be played with up to 12 people for both the outward and return journeys. If only the outward journey is played, there is virtually no limit on the number of players, and it can be enjoyed by people of all ages. [Examples]

[0024] The wildflowers in this game are those found in warm regions, and the game is based on a single walking path that represents a typical breeding ground where the wildflowers are relatively common. If the breeding ground of a wildflower is wide, the cards can be spread across multiple walking paths.

[0025] The wild plants in this game are based on current knowledge, and can be updated in the future as their habitats expand or contract, and new wild plant cards can also be added.

[0026] In this embodiment, the basic card composition is based on wildflowers, but it is also possible to broaden the range of cards by including trees to represent the seasons of new growth, flowering, fruiting, and leaf fall.

[0027] The list of wildflowers found along side paths in rural areas (10) shown in Figure 1 consists mainly of 45 species of wildflowers found along side paths and in open spaces in rural areas. The table is structured as follows: flowering period / wildflower name (11), rosette (12), which is the flat leaf state seen mainly in biennials that overwinter, flowering period (13), and overwintering leaves (14), which are mainly in perennials that have leaves that overwinter, and it indicates which period of the 12 months it corresponds to.

[0028] The observation period for rosettes (12) mentioned above is winter (December to February), and the observation period for overwintering leaves (14) is autumn / winter (November to February). These periods were set for the game and may differ slightly from reality. Also, the term "overwintering leaves (14)" is a neologism created for this game.

[0029] The list of wild plants found along the edges of rice paddies and fields (20) shown in Figure 2 consists mainly of 45 types of wild plants found along the edges of rice paddies and fields. The structure of the table is the same as described above (0027).

[0030] The list of wild plants along the riverbank path shown in Figure 3 (30) mainly consists of 45 species of wild plants found on riverbeds and riverbanks. The structure of the table is the same as described above (0027), but wild plants with overwintering leaves (14) are not included.

[0031] The list of wildflowers along the field path shown in Figure 4 (40) mainly consists of 45 types of wildflowers that can be seen when stepping into the field. The structure of the table is the same as described above (0027).

[0032] The list of wild plants in street corners and alleys shown in Figure 5 (50) mainly consists of 45 species of wild plants found in hedges and vacant lots in residential areas. The structure of the table is the same as described above (0027), but wild plants with overwintering leaves (14) are not included.

[0033] The list of wild plants along the garden path shown in Figure 6 (60) mainly consists of 45 types of wild plants and vegetables that are popular for use in residential flowerbeds and pathways, even though they are wild plants. The structure of the table is the same as described above (0027).

[0034] The wildflower cards (70) for the side trails in the satoyama area shown in Figure 7 are taken from the list of wildflowers for the side trails in the satoyama area (10). The wildflowers selected include those with a rosette stage (12), those with overwintering leaves (14), and those with a flowering period (13). The wildflower cards for the side paths of the satoyama (70) are surrounded by a yellow frame (71) for identification.

[0035] In the example composition of the wildflower card for the side path in the satoyama (70) in Figure 7, the upper section has a picture or photograph and the satoyama side path (72), the name of the wildflower, Gnaphalium affine (Gogyo), one of the seven spring herbs (73), and the state of the wildflower, rosette, winter (December-February) (74) on the left side, and a picture or photograph and the satoyama side path (75), Gnaphalium affine (Gogyo), one of the seven spring herbs (76), and the flowering period, spring / summer (April-June) (77).

[0036] If the left side of the wild grass card (70) on the side of the satoyama path shown in Figure 7 above is Gnaphalium affine (Gogyo), one of the seven spring herbs (73), then when the season is winter during the game, use the winter rosette (December-February) (74), and on the right side, use the spring / summer flowering period (April-June) (77) when the season is spring or summer. This combination of the left and right sides of the card is the first of the three types of card combinations: the rosette (12) and the flowering period (13).

[0037] In the example composition of the wildflower card (70) for the side path in the countryside shown in Figure 7, the middle section has Cymbidium goeringii (78) on the left side, with overwintering leaves in autumn and winter (November to February) (79), and Cymbidium goeringii (80) on the right side, with flowering in spring (March to April) (81).

[0038] If the left side of the wildflower card (70) on the side of the satoyama path in Figure 7 above is Cymbidium goeringii (78), then when the season is autumn or winter during the game, use the overwintering leaves autumn / winter (November-February) (79), and when the season is spring, use the flowering period spring (March-April) (81) on the right side. This combination of the left and right sides of the card is the second of the three types of card combinations: the overwintering leaves (14) and the flowering period (13).

[0039] In the example of the wildflower card (70) for the side path in the countryside shown in Figure 7, the lower section has primrose (82), flowering period in spring (April-May) (83) on the left side, and primrose (84), flowering period in spring (April-May) (85) on the right side.

[0040] If the left side of the wildflower card (70) on the side of the satoyama path in Figure 7 above shows a primrose (82), then when the season is spring during the game, the flowering period spring (April-May) (83) is used, and the right side also shows a flowering period spring (April-May) (85) when the season is spring, with only the picture or photograph being different. This combination of the left and right sides of the cards is the third of the three types of card combinations: the flowering period (13) and the flowering period (13) combination.

[0041] The wild plant cards (90) for the field paths in Figure 8 are selected from the list of wild plants found on field paths (20), and the wild plant cards (90) are surrounded by a green frame (91) for identification purposes.

[0042] In Figure 8, the example of the wild plant card (90) for the field path shows plantain (93), which is the first of the three types mentioned above (see 0036). Both the right and left sides depict the field path (92) and the wild plant name plantain (93). The left side shows the wild plant in its rosette state during winter (December-February) (94), while the right side shows its flowering period during spring, summer, and autumn (April-September) (95). The other two examples are the second (see 0038) combination of the three types of cards, spider lilies, and the third (see 0040) combination, Job's tears.

[0043] The wild plant card (100) for the riverbank path in Figure 9 is selected from the list of wild plants along the riverbank path (30), excluding the two types of wild plants mentioned above that have overwintering leaves (14). The wild plant card (100) for the riverbank path is surrounded by a blue frame (101) for identification purposes.

[0044] In the example of the wild grass card (100) for the riverbank path in Figure 9, the Japanese pampas grass is the third of the three types mentioned above (see 0040), and the left and right sides are the same except for the pictures or photographs, showing the riverbank path (102), the wild grass name Japanese pampas grass (103), and the flowering period summer and autumn (July to October) (104). Another example is the first of the three types (see 0036), sow thistle.

[0045] The wildflower cards (110) for the field trail in Figure 10 are selected from the list of wildflowers for the field trail (40), and the wildflower cards (110) for the field trail are surrounded by a red frame (111) for identification.

[0046] In the example of the wildflower card (110) for the field path in Figure 10, the autumn sowthistle (113) is the first of the three types mentioned above (see 0036). Both the right and left sides show the field path (112) and the wildflower name, autumn sowthistle (113). On the left side, it shows the wildflower's state as a rosette in winter (December-February) (114), and on the right side, it shows the flowering period as summer-autumn (August-November) (115). The other two examples are the second (see 0038) and third (see 0040) combinations of the three types of cards, namely daylilies and foxtail grass (see 0040).

[0047] The street corner alley wildflower card (120) in Figure 11 is selected from the street corner alley wildflower list (50), excluding wildflowers with overwintering leaves (14), and the street corner alley wildflower card (120) is surrounded by a gray frame (121) for identification.

[0048] In the example of the street corner alley wildflower card (120) in Figure 11, the sedge (123) is the third of the three types mentioned above (see 0040), and the left and right sides are the same, only the picture or photograph differs, with the street corner alley as a walking path (122), the wildflower name sedge (123), and the flowering period summer and autumn (August to October) (124) being the same. Another example is the first of the three types (see 0036), which is speedwell.

[0049] The wildflower cards (130) for the garden path in Figure 12 are selected from the list of wildflowers for the garden path (60), and the wildflower cards (130) for the garden path are surrounded by a white frame (131) for identification.

[0050] In the example of the wild flower card (130) for the garden path in Figure 12, the orchid (133) is the second of the three types mentioned above (see 0038). Both the right and left sides depict the garden path (132) and the wild flower name, orchid (133). On the left side, it shows overwintering leaves in autumn / winter (November-February) (134), and on the right side, it shows the flowering period in spring (April-May) (135), a combination of overwintering leaves (14) and flowering period (13). The other two examples are the first of the three types of card combinations (see 0036), radish (suzushiro), one of the seven spring herbs, and the third (see 0040), Polygonum capitatum.

[0051] The seasonal cards (140) in Figure 13 are Spring cards (March-May) (141), Summer cards (June-August) (142), Autumn cards (September-November) (143), and Winter cards (December-February) (144). Multiple sets of these four types of cards are prepared.

[0052] The walking path cards (150) in Figure 14 are: rural side path card (151), field path card (152), riverbank path card (153), field footpath card (154), street corner alley card (155), and garden path card (156). Multiple sets of these six types of cards are prepared.

[0053] Seasonal cards (140) and walking path cards (150) can be prepared by making copies of the cards when there are many players.

[0054] The walking base (160) in Figure 15 consists of a seasonal card frame (161) for placing seasonal cards (140), a walking path card frame (162) for placing walking path cards (150), and a series of six frames for placing wildflower cards according to distance.

[0055] In Figure 15, the outward journey of the walking base (160) uses the upper row, and the frames for placing the aforementioned wild grass cards are such that the number 1 on the die (173) shown in the game flow (170) faces the frame 1 (1km) (163) of the wild grass card, then the number 2 faces the frame 2 (2km) (164), the number 3 faces the frame 3 (3km) (165), and so on, until the number on the die (173) becomes 6, at which point the frame 6 (6km) becomes the outward journey goal (166).

[0056] In Figure 15, for the return trip of the walking base (160), the lower row is used, and the frames for placing wildflower cards are such that the number 1 on the die (173) faces the wildflower card frame 1 (7km) (167), then the number 2 faces the frame 2 (8km) (168), and so on until the number on the die (173) becomes 6, at which point frame 6 (12km) becomes the return trip goal (169).

[0057] The game flow (170) in Figure 16 is an example of how to play. In step 1 of preparing the game (171), when checking the wildflower cards, each group will collect 45 wildflower cards (70) of the yellow-framed (71) rural side paths, 45 wildflower cards (90) of the green-framed (91) field paths, 45 wildflower cards (100) of the blue-framed (101) riverbank paths, 45 wildflower cards (110) of the red-framed (111) field paths, 45 wildflower cards (120) of the gray-framed (121) street corner alleys, and 45 wildflower cards (130) of the white-framed (131) garden paths.

[0058] Cut the aforementioned wild plant cards into stacks, separating them by color. You don't need to distinguish between the front and back of each card within its respective color, and you can cut them without worrying about the orientation (up or down).

[0059] Item 2 of Game Preparation (171) in Figure 16 involves checking the season cards (140). Prepare a balanced selection of spring cards (March-May) (141), summer cards (June-August) (142), autumn cards (September-November) (143), and winter cards (December-February) (144), ideally in multiples of four types, more than the number of players. Shuffle the cards well and place them face down.

[0060] Step 3 of Game Preparation (171) in Figure 16 involves checking the walking path cards (150). Prepare a balanced selection of the following cards: rural path cards (151), field path cards (152), riverbank path cards (153), field footpath cards (154), street corner alley cards (155), and garden path cards (156). Ideally, the number of cards should be a multiple of six, which is more than the number of players. Shuffle the cards well and place them face down.

[0061] Item 4 of the game setup (171) in Figure 16 is the preparation of the walking base (160), where each player takes one walking base (160) and places it in front of them.

[0062] Item 5 of the game preparation (171) in Figure 16 is checking the dice (173). Commercially available dice (173) with faces from 1 to 6 are acceptable.

[0063] Item 6 of the game preparation (171) in Figure 16 is to decide whether the game is a one-way 6km or a round trip 12km. This can be determined by the time limit or the number of participants.

[0064] Item 7 of the game preparation (171) in Figure 16 indicates that the first player of the game is determined by rock-paper-scissors, dice, etc., and the order of turns is also determined.

[0065] The game flowchart (172) in Figure 16 begins with each player drawing one card from four types of season cards (140) and six types of walking path cards (150) that are placed face down, placing the cards on the walking base (160), and deciding on the season and walking path.

[0066] The player then rolls the die (173). If the result is 1, they compare it to the season (month) on the front of the wildflower card for the same walking path as the chosen walking path. If there is a match for any month (season), they take the wildflower card and place it on the upper row of the walking base (160) at 1 (1km) (163).

[0067] If the wildflower card does not match any of the months (seasons) on the card, you cannot take the wildflower card. In that case, you are given two possible solutions.

[0068] The first method is to check the back of the wild plant card, and if the wild plant card has no connection to the player, neither the front nor the back of the card (the month / season), leave it in the deck.

[0069] The second method of handling this is to check the back of the wild grass card. Even if the season on the front is irrelevant, if the season on the back matches the player's season card (140), you can turn the back side face up and place it near the deck, allowing you to retrieve it in subsequent turns.

[0070] The two aforementioned approaches allow you to know which season (month) other players are taking a walk in from the second round onward, enabling you to disrupt them by choosing a different season. Conversely, other players may steal cards you have placed near the pile.

[0071] If the result is between 2 and 6, it does not match the walking base (160) of 1 (1km), so the turn passes to the next player.

[0072] From the second round onward, the game progresses by checking for matches or mismatches, including the wild grass cards that other players have placed near the pile.

[0073] If the player rolls a die (173) and the result is 2, and there is a wildflower card that matches the season (month), place the wildflower card on the walking base (160) at position 2 (2km) (164). Subsequently, place wildflower cards on the upper right slot of the walking base (160) based on the die roll of 3, 4, 5.

[0074] If the dice rolled by the player (173) show a 6 and there is a wildflower card that matches the season (month), the player places the wildflower card at the walking base (160) at the 6 (6km) outbound goal (166), completing the one-way trip.

[0075] When continuing the game, including the return trip, use the lower section of the walking base (160). The player then rolls the dice (173). If the result is 1, they compare it to the season (month) shown on the front of the wildflower card for the same walking route. If there is a match for any month (season), they take the wildflower card and place it on the lower section of the walking base (160) at 1 (7km) (167).

[0076] The game proceeds in the same way as the outward journey described above: if the dice (173) show a 2, place a wild grass card at location 2 (8km) of the walking base (160).

[0077] Place the wildflower card on the lower left frame of the walking base (160). If the dice rolled by the player (173) is 6 and there is a wildflower card that matches the season (month), place the wildflower card at the 6 (12km) return goal (169) on the walking base (160), completing the entire outward and return journeys.

[0078] The distance walked by the other players when one player finishes determines their ranking. For fairness, the game ends when all subsequent turns have been completed.

[0079] According to the present invention, it is possible to understand the names, breeding areas, and characteristics of wild plants that one might notice while walking or hear about, such as the seven spring herbs or the seven autumn herbs.

[0080] In this game, wild plants include those whose stems harden and become woody plants depending on the seeds, such as the bush clover (hagi) which is one of the seven autumn flowers.

[0081] This game can be played alone, but it can also be played by two or more people together, and can be played in individual or team modes.

[0082] The information that can be included on the cards could be elements of a field guide, such as the English name of the wild plant, related species, characteristics, and rarity, or it could be used to expand knowledge about species designated as potentially harmful invasive alien species by the Ministry of the Environment.
