Abstract

This invention provides a ceiling structure and a construction method that allows for increased cross-sectional performance of horizontal members, including horizontal structural members, with simple construction. [Solution] In a ceiling structure 1 equipped with a ceiling material support frame 10 that supports ceiling base material, the ceiling material support frame 10 is characterized by comprising a pair of runner members 11, 11 laid along walls facing each other, a horizontal member 12 stretched between the pair of runner members 11, 11, a reinforcing member 13 laid along the horizontal member 12 on at least one of the upper and lower parts of the horizontal member 12, and a connecting member 14 that connects the horizontal member 12 and the reinforcing member 13.
