Abstract

This invention provides an assembly method for an intermediate shaft that allows the intermediate shaft to be connected to a differential gear unit while maintaining alignment, while suppressing the increase in the number of parts and the occurrence of constraints on the placement of parts. [Solution] The differential gear device 12 is configured such that a guide shaft 50 having a diameter R is guided concentrically to the tooth tip surfaces P and Q located at the small diameter M of the female splines 20a and 22a, and is able to pass through the differential gear device 12 in the direction of the rotation axis CL while being guided by the respective tooth tip surfaces P and Q. A fitting hole 14b is formed in the inner diameter of one end of the intermediate shaft 14, and a fitting projection 50a that fits into the fitting hole 14b is formed on one end of the guide shaft 50. Guide shaft insertion GI is performed, and a guide fitting state GC is achieved in which the fitting projection 50a and the fitting hole 14b are fitted together. Intermediate shaft assembly IC is performed by inserting the intermediate shaft 14 while the guide fitting state GC is maintained.

Claims

[Claim 1] A power transmission device comprising: an intermediate shaft having a male spline formed on the outer circumferential surface of one end; a differential gear device having a pair of differential side gears having female splines formed on their inner circumferential surfaces; a first case housing the differential gear device; and a second case fastened adjacent to the first case in the direction of the rotation axis of the differential side gears, wherein the intermediate shaft is inserted in the direction of the rotation axis through a first opening provided in the second case with the one end facing forward, passing through the adjacent portions of the first and second cases, and engaging the female spline and the male spline of the differential side gear located on the second case side, is the method for assembling the intermediate shaft. The differential gear device is configured such that a guide shaft, which is approximately the same diameter as a circle formed by each of the tooth tip surfaces of the female spline, can pass through the differential gear device in the direction of the rotation axis while being guided by each of the tooth surfaces. A fitting hole is formed in the inner diameter portion of one end of the intermediate shaft, and a fitting projection that fits into the fitting hole is formed on one end of the guide shaft. The guide shaft is inserted in the direction of the rotation axis through the second opening provided on the opposite side of the second case of the first case, with the fitting projection facing forward, passing through the differential gear device and the adjacent part, and exposing the fitting projection to the first opening. The intermediate shaft is assembled by inserting the intermediate shaft while the fitting projection and the fitting hole are engaged in a guide fitting state. A method for assembling an intermediate shaft, characterized by the following:
