Abstract

The present invention provides a metal multifilament composed of metal threads, which exhibits excellent sewability when used as sewing thread for sewing machines and can be easily cut with a cutter or the like attached to a sewing machine. [Solution] A multifilament in which at least two bundles of metal threads, each consisting of 2 to 25 metal threads, are twisted together, the filament diameter being 0.1 to 0.3 mm, and the average coefficient of friction (MIU) being 0.25 or less. A torque of 50 or less is more preferable.

Claims

1. A multifilament in which at least two bundles of metal threads, each bundle consisting of 2 to 25 metal threads, are twisted together, the filament diameter is 0.1 to 0.3 mm, and the average coefficient of friction (MIU) is 0.25 or less.

2. The metal multifilament according to claim 1, wherein the torque is 50 or less.

3. The metal multifilament according to claim 1, wherein the number of undertwist cycles for each metal yarn bundle is 300 to 650, and the total number of overtwist cycles for the multifilament is 150 to 650.

4. The metal multifilament according to claim 1, wherein each bundle of metal threads is composed of 5 to 15 metal threads.

5. The metal multifilament according to claim 1, wherein the metal thread bundles are 2 to 5 bundles.

6. A sewing thread made of metal multifilament as described in claim 1.

7. A woven or knitted fabric comprising metal multifilaments as described in claim 1.
