The present invention relates to a method for determining the rarity of a signal. A method for determining the rarity of a signal according to one embodiment of the present invention includes the steps of: receiving group biometric data through a sensor during a predetermined period of time; an extraction processor extracting some data from the received group biometric data; a comparison processor calculating a cumulative distribution function (CDF) based on the group biometric data; a comparison processor calculating the sample rarity of the extracted portion of data based on the calculated cumulative distribution function (CDF), and calculating the group rarity from the sample rarity; and a comparison processor comparing the group rarity of the extracted portion of data with a threshold to determine whether or not a singularity exists.
