Abstract
Description
[Technical Field]
[0001] The present invention specifically relates to a telescoping handle assembly for a suitcase that can be converted to a flat surface. [Background technology]
[0002] Suitcases are essential equipment for modern travel, featuring two functions: storage and check-in, as well as a transport mechanism. A Chinese utility model patent document bearing the disclosure number "CN222217346U" discloses a suitcase that can be converted into a flat-laying suitcase, primarily comprising a suitcase body, a telescopic handle mechanism, and casters. The telescopic handle mechanism is composed of a telescopic handle and a telescopic handle base. The lower end of the telescopic handle is rotatably connected to the suitcase body, and a lock base is provided between the telescopic handle and the suitcase body, and is fixed to the suitcase body. A telescopic lock latch is provided within the lock base, and an unlock mechanism is linked to the lock latch. The telescopic handle base has a lock hole that fits the lock latch.
[0003] The unlocking mechanism mainly consists of a lock latch, an unlock block, a release button, and a spring. The lock latch is mounted in the lock base and is extendable, fitting into a lock hole on the telescopic handle base to achieve the lock or unlock function. The unlock block is connected to the lock latch via a transmission shaft and has an inclined groove on it, which converts the lateral movement of the unlock block into the extension and retraction movement of the lock latch. The release button is connected to the unlock block by a screw, and has an anti-slip pattern and ridges on its surface, making it easy for users to operate and move the unlock block.
[0004] This telescopic handle mechanism has the following technical problems: Locking and unlocking between the telescopic handle mechanism and the case body mainly relies on the unlocking mechanism, but this unlocking structure is composed of multiple parts, and in order to convert the lateral movement of the unlocking block into the telescopic movement of the locking latch, it is necessary to machine an inclined groove, which results in a complex structure, relatively complicated processing steps, and cumbersome assembly, which directly leads to reduced production efficiency and increased production costs. Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]
[0005] The technical problem that the present invention aims to solve is to address the shortcomings of the prior art by providing a telescoping handle assembly for a flat-lay convertible suitcase, in which the locking latch is directly actuated and moved by a release button, thereby reducing the number of parts and the complexity of processing, realizing flexible switching between different states of the suitcase, improving production efficiency, and reducing costs. [Means for solving the problem]
[0006] To achieve the above object, the present invention provides the following technical solution: a telescopic handle assembly for a flat-lay convertible suitcase, comprising: a telescopic handle that can be extended and retracted; a telescopic handle base fixed to the telescopic handle; and a lock base fixed to the case body of the suitcase, wherein a lock latch that can move back and forth toward the telescopic handle base is provided within the lock base, and the telescopic handle base is provided with a lock hole that fits the lock latch, wherein the lock latch is coupled to a release button that drives the lock latch to move back and forth toward the telescopic handle base, and when the lock latch is inserted into the lock hole, the telescopic handle base is fixed to the lock base, and when the lock latch is released from the lock hole, the telescopic handle base and the lock base are separated.
[0007] The above technical solution directly moves the lock latch with the release button, resulting in a simpler structure, fewer parts, and less difficulty in processing and assembly. This effectively solves the complex structure of traditional unlocking mechanisms, and also eliminates the need for inclined grooves, reducing the complexity of the processing and assembly process, thereby improving production efficiency and reducing production costs. During installation, the lock base is fixed to the suitcase body, the telescopic handle base is fixed to the telescopic handle, and the lower end of the telescopic handle is rotatably connected to the suitcase body or the caster base of the suitcase. Insertion and removal are achieved through the lock latch on the lock base and the lock hole on the telescopic handle base. When necessary, the user can unlock the telescopic handle by operating the release button, and rotate the telescopic handle around the rotatable connection between the lower end and the suitcase body, thereby flexibly switching the suitcase between different positions (vertical and horizontal), meeting the needs of different usage scenarios.
[0008] The above-mentioned telescoping handle assembly for a flat-lay convertible suitcase can further be configured as follows: a spring is interlocked with the end of the lock latch away from the telescoping handle base, a guide post is provided on the lock base corresponding to the spring, a guide hole is provided on the lock latch corresponding to the spring, one end of the spring is fitted into the guide post and the other end is inserted into the guide hole.
[0009] When the above technical solution is adopted, the main function of the spring is to provide a stable restoring force to the locking latch. When a person manually operates the release button to release the locking latch from the locking hole, the spring automatically returns the locking latch to its initial position after the person's hand releases the release button, making it easy to use. The guide post and guide hole support and guide both ends of the spring, respectively, ensuring that the spring moves axially during expansion and contraction and preventing the spring from tilting or twisting during movement. Secondly, the spring improves the operating stability of the locking latch and prevents shaking whether the locking latch moves or not.
[0010] The above-mentioned telescopic handle assembly for a flat-lay convertible suitcase can further be configured as follows: a connecting shaft is provided between the release button and the lock latch, the lock base is provided with an elongated hole corresponding to the connecting shaft, the elongated hole is provided parallel to the moving direction of the lock latch, one end of the connecting shaft is fastened to the release button, the lock latch is provided with a connecting hole, and the other end of the connecting shaft is inserted into the connecting hole through the elongated hole.
[0011] In the above technical solution, the connecting shaft is a direct connection between the release button and the locking latch. One end of the connecting shaft is fastened to the release button, and the other end is inserted into the connecting hole on the locking latch, transmitting the movement of the release button to the locking latch, thereby realizing the reciprocating movement of the locking latch. The slotted hole guides the movement of the release button and the locking latch through the connecting shaft, and also limits the limit movement position of the locking latch, preventing excessive displacement of the locking latch.
[0012] The above-mentioned telescopic handle assembly for a flat-laying convertible suitcase can further be configured as follows: The surface of the release button is provided with an anti-slip pattern, and the middle part of the release button is provided with a ridge.
[0013] When the above technical solution is adopted, the anti-slip pattern on the surface of the release button and the ridge in the middle part both increase the friction force, making it easier for the user to press the release button by hand.
[0014] The above-mentioned telescoping handle assembly for a flat-lay convertible suitcase can further be configured as follows: the lock latch includes an interlocking body and a plurality of sets of lock latch blocks sequentially arranged on the same side of the interlocking body, the interlocking body is interlocked with a release button, the lock base is provided with lock latch holes corresponding to the lock holes and slidably fitted into the lock latch blocks, and the interlocking body is provided with a plurality of sets of lightening grooves.
[0015] In the above technical solution, the function of the lock latch hole is to prevent the lock latch from interfering with the lock base when moving toward the lock hole, and the lightening groove is used to reduce the weight of the lock base.
[0016] The above-mentioned telescopic handle assembly for a flat-lay convertible suitcase can further be configured as follows: A locking groove is provided on the side of the lock base facing the telescopic handle base, and a locking hook that fits into the locking groove is provided on the telescopic handle base.
[0017] When the above technical solution is adopted, when the telescopic handle base is positioned on the case body, not only the locking latch and the locking hole are fitted together, but also the locking hook and the locking groove are fitted together, thereby increasing the connection strength between the telescopic handle base and the case body.
[0018] The above-mentioned telescoping handle assembly for a flat-lay convertible suitcase can further be configured as follows: the lock base includes an upper cover panel and a lower cover panel arranged opposite to each other, the upper cover panel is provided with a plurality of sets of connecting posts, the lower cover panel is provided with a set of matching positioning holes corresponding to each set of connecting posts, the connecting posts are provided with internal threaded holes, and fasteners are connected to the connecting posts via the threaded holes.
[0019] The above technical solution allows the lock base to be designed as a detachably connected upper and lower cover panels, facilitating the assembly and replacement of parts such as the lock latch, spring, release button, connecting shaft, etc. Here, standard parts such as screws or pins can be used as fasteners, and the fasteners secure the upper and lower cover panels via connecting posts and positioning holes.
[0020] The above-mentioned telescopic handle assembly for a flat-lay convertible suitcase can further be configured as follows: a rotating sleeve is provided at the lower end of the telescopic handle, a rotating shaft is provided within the rotating sleeve, rotating bases fixed to the case body of the suitcase are provided symmetrically at both ends of the rotating sleeve, an insertion hole is provided on the side of the rotating base facing the rotating sleeve, and the end of the rotating shaft extends toward the rotating base until it is inserted into the insertion hole.
[0021] By adopting the above technical solution, once the locking latch is released from the locking hole, the telescopic handle base is no longer restricted in position, and when the telescopic handle is rotated by manually pulling or pushing it, the rotating sleeve and the rotating shaft rotate around the rotating base, thereby realizing the rotation of the telescopic handle.
[0022] The above-mentioned telescopic handle assembly for a flat-lay convertible suitcase can further be configured as follows: the side of the rotating base is provided with a plurality of sets of protrusions spaced apart around the outer periphery of the insertion hole, the end of the rotating sleeve is provided with grooves corresponding to the protrusions, and the outer surfaces of the protrusions are curved.
[0023] When the above technical solution is adopted, a certain thrust or pulling force is applied to the telescopic handle by hand until the protrusion and the groove separate. When the telescopic handle is rotated to the required angle, the protrusion engages with a set of grooves, thereby realizing the telescopic handle to remain fixed in position at this angle. Therefore, the telescopic handle can remain fixed at any rotation angle, improving the flexibility of use of the suitcase. The surface of the protrusion is curved, making it easy for the protrusion and the groove to separate and engage.
[0024] The above-mentioned telescopic handle assembly for a flat-lay convertible suitcase can further be configured as follows: the telescopic handle includes an outer tube and an inner tube, the lower end of the outer tube is connected to a rotating sleeve, connecting sleeves are symmetrically provided on both ends of the telescopic handle base, the connecting sleeves are provided with barbs on the outer periphery, and the upper end of the outer tube is provided with locking holes that fit the barbs, the connecting sleeves are inserted into the outer tube until the barbs fit into the locking holes, the telescopic handle base is provided with a through-hole that passes through the connecting sleeve, the inner tube is inserted into the outer tube through the through-hole and slidably fits into the outer tube, and a telescopic handle grip is provided on the upper end of the inner tube.
[0025] The above technical solution allows the barb to fit into the locking hole, thereby connecting the telescopic handle base and the outer tube. Symmetrical through-holes are provided on both ends of the telescopic handle base, which pass through the connecting sleeve. The upper end of the outer tube is inserted into the through-holes of the telescopic handle base, ensuring smooth extension and retraction of the telescopic handle.

[0029] The telescoping handle assembly for a flat-lay convertible suitcase shown in Figures 1 to 6 includes a telescoping and slidable telescoping handle 1, a telescoping handle base 2 fixed to the telescoping handle 1, and a lock base 3 fixed to the suitcase body. A lock latch 4 is provided within the lock base 3 and is movable back and forth toward the telescoping handle base 2. The telescoping handle base 2 is provided with a lock hole 2a that fits the lock latch 4, and the lock latch 4 is linked to a release button 5. A connecting shaft 6 is provided between the release button 5 and the lock latch 4. The lock base 3 is provided with an elongated hole 3a that corresponds to the connecting shaft 6 and is parallel to the direction of movement of the lock latch 4. One end of the connecting shaft 6 is fastened to the release button 5. The lock latch 4 is provided with a connecting hole 4a, and the other end of the connecting shaft 6 is inserted into the connecting hole 4a through the elongated hole 3a. The connecting shaft 6 is a direct connection component between the release button 5 and the lock latch 4. One end of the shaft is fastened to the release button 5, and the other end is inserted into the connecting hole 4a on the lock latch 4, so that the movement of the release button 5 is transmitted to the lock latch 4, thereby realizing the reciprocating movement of the lock latch 4. The elongated hole 3a guides the movement of the release button 5 and the lock latch 4 via the connecting shaft 6, and also limits the limit movement position of the lock latch 4, preventing excessive displacement of the lock latch 4.
[0030] A spring 7 is coupled to the end of the lock latch 4 away from the telescopic handle base 2. The lock base 3 is provided with a guide post 3b corresponding to the spring 7, and the lock latch 4 is provided with a guide hole 4b corresponding to the spring 7. One end of the spring 7 is fitted into the guide post 3b and the other end is inserted into the guide hole 4b. The main function of the spring 7 is to provide a stable restoring force to the lock latch 4. When a user manually operates the release button 5 to release the lock latch 4 from the lock hole 2a, the spring 7 automatically returns the lock latch 4 to its initial position after the user releases the release button 5, making it easy to use. The guide post 3b and guide hole 4b support and guide both ends of the spring 7, ensuring that the spring 7 moves axially during extension and retraction and preventing the spring 7 from tilting or twisting during movement. Secondly, the spring 7 enhances the operational stability of the lock latch 4 and prevents shaking whether the lock latch 4 moves or not.
[0031] The release button 5 has an anti-slip pattern 5a on the surface thereof and a ridge 5b in the middle of the release button 5. The anti-slip pattern 5a on the surface of the release button 5 and the ridge 5b in the middle of the release button 5 both increase friction, making it easier for the user to press the release button 5 with their hands.
[0032] The lock latch 4 includes an interlocking body 4c and a plurality of sets of lock latch blocks 4d arranged in sequence on the same side of the interlocking body 4c. The interlocking body 4c is interlocked with a release button 5. The lock base 3 is provided with lock latch holes 3c corresponding to the lock holes 2a, which slidably fit into the lock latch blocks 4d. The interlocking body 4c is provided with a plurality of sets of lightening grooves 4e. The function of the lock latch holes 3c is to avoid interference with the lock base 3 when the lock latch 4 moves toward the lock holes 2a. The lightening grooves 4e are used to reduce the weight of the lock base 3.
[0033] A locking groove 3d is provided on the side of the lock base 3 facing the telescopic handle base 2, and a locking hook 2b that fits into the locking groove 3d is provided on the telescopic handle base 2. When the telescopic handle base 2 is positioned on the case body, the lock latch 4 fits into the lock hole 2a, and the locking hook 2b fits into the locking groove 3d, increasing the connection strength between the telescopic handle base 2 and the case body.
[0034] The lock base 3 includes an upper cover panel 3e and a lower cover panel 3f arranged opposite each other. The upper cover panel 3e is provided with a plurality of connecting posts 3g. The lower cover panel 3f is provided with a pair of positioning holes 3h corresponding to each pair of connecting posts 3g. The connecting posts 3g are internally threaded, and fasteners are connected to the connecting posts 3g via the threaded holes. Designing the lock base 3 so that the upper and lower cover panels 3e and 3f are detachably connected facilitates assembly and replacement of components such as the lock latch 4, spring 7, release button 5, and connecting shaft 6. Standard components such as screws or pins can be used as fasteners, and the fasteners secure the upper and lower cover panels 3e and 3f via the connecting posts 3g and positioning holes 3h.
[0035] A rotating sleeve 1a is provided at the lower end of the telescopic handle 1, a rotating shaft 1b is provided within the rotating sleeve 1a, and rotating bases 1c are provided symmetrically on both ends of the rotating sleeve 1a and fixed to the suitcase body. An insertion hole 1d is provided on the side of the rotating base 1c facing the rotating sleeve 1a, and the end of the rotating shaft 1b extends toward the rotating base 1c until it is inserted into the insertion hole 1d. When the locking latch 4 disengages from the locking hole 2a, the telescopic handle base 2 is no longer restricted in position. When the telescopic handle 1 is rotated by pulling or pushing it by hand, the rotating sleeve 1a and the rotating shaft 1b rotate around the rotating base 1c, thereby realizing rotation of the telescopic handle 1.
[0036] The side of the rotating base 1c is provided with multiple sets of protrusions 1e spaced apart around the insertion hole 1d, and the end of the rotating sleeve 1a is provided with corresponding grooves 1f, each of which has a curved outer surface. A certain thrust or pulling force is applied to the telescopic handle 1 by hand until the protrusions 1e and the grooves 1f separate. When the telescopic handle 1 is rotated to the required angle, the protrusions 1e engage with one set of grooves 1f, thereby maintaining the telescopic handle 1 at that angle. This allows the telescopic handle 1 to remain fixed at any rotation angle, improving the suitcase's versatility. The curved surface of the protrusions 1e facilitates the separation and engagement of the protrusions 1e and the grooves 1f.
[0037] The telescopic handle 1 includes an outer tube 1g and an inner tube 1h, the lower end of which is connected to a rotating sleeve 1a, and connecting sleeves 2c are symmetrically provided at both ends of the telescopic handle base 2. The connecting sleeve 2c has a barb 2d on its outer periphery, and a locking hole 1j at the upper end of the outer tube 1g that fits the barb 2d. The connecting sleeve 2c is inserted into the outer tube 1g until the barb 2d fits into the locking hole 1j. The telescopic handle base 2 has a through-hole that passes through the connecting sleeve 2c, and the inner tube 1h is inserted into the outer tube 1g through the through-hole and slidably fits into the outer tube 1g. The handle of the telescopic handle 1 is provided at the upper end of the inner tube 1h. The barb 2d fits into the locking hole 1j, thereby fastening the telescopic handle base 2 and the outer tube 1g. Symmetrical through-holes that penetrate the connecting sleeve 2c are provided on both ends of the telescopic handle base 2, and the upper end of the outer tube 1g is inserted into the through-hole of the telescopic handle base 2 to ensure smooth extension and retraction of the telescopic handle 1.
[0038] The operation method of this embodiment is as follows.
[0039] When the telescopic handle assembly is attached to the case body of the suitcase, the lower end of the telescopic handle 1 is rotatably connected to a rotating sleeve 1a fixed to the case body of the suitcase. When the suitcase needs to be placed horizontally, the release button 5 is pressed downward, and the release button 5 drives the lock latch 4 via the connecting shaft 6 until the lock latch block 4d on the lock latch 4 disengages from the lock hole 2a on the telescopic handle base 2, and then the telescopic handle 1 is rotated. The engagement between the recess 1f and the protrusion 1e ensures that the telescopic handle 1 can be fixed at any angle.
[0040] When the suitcase needs to be used upright, the telescopic handle 1 is rotated toward the surface of the suitcase body until the lock latch 4 is inserted into the lock hole 2a, whereby the telescopic handle base 2 and the lock base 3 are fastened together, i.e., the telescopic handle 1 is fixed to the case body.
