Abstract

To provide a rod case that can store both a rod with a reel attached and a rod with a detached reel with good appearance and without any part that gets in the way of transportation. [Solution] A rod case made of a soft material that can accommodate a rod with a reel attached, comprising an elongated main body 1 that accommodates the rod, and a bulge 2 that bulges out from the main body and accommodates the reel, with one end and the other end of the main body 1 extending in the longitudinal direction being capable of being folded back in opposite directions, and the bulge 2 being deformable so that at least a portion of it overlaps the main body 1.

[0019] The rod case according to the present invention is described below with reference to the drawings. This rod case is made of a soft material and can accommodate a rod with a reel attached (hereinafter also referred to as a pole) and a rod without a reel attached.

[0020] As shown in Figures 1(a), 1(b) and 2(a), 1(b), the rod case includes a slender main body 1 for accommodating a rod, and a bulging portion 2 that bulges outward from the main body 1 in a transverse direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the main body 1 to accommodate a reel. In Figures 1(a), 1(b) and 2(a), 1(b), the left end of the main body 1 is the distal end that accommodates the tip of the rod, and the right end of the main body 1 is the proximal end that accommodates the butt of the rod. The bulging portion 2 is located closer to the proximal end than the longitudinal center and bulges outward in the thickness direction (vertical direction in Figure 1(b)) than the storage space of the main body 1 to facilitate accommodating a reel. The rod case also includes a shoulder strap 3 whose length can be adjusted. In FIG. 1(a), the tip end side is the front side, the base end side is the rear side, the bulging portion side in the short side direction is the right side, and the side opposite the bulging portion in the short side direction is the left side.

[0021] The rod case is fabricated as follows: First, three pieces of fabric are stacked: an outer portion 4 made of polyester woven fabric, an inner portion 5 made of nylon woven fabric, and a middle portion (not shown) made of cushioning material placed between the outer portion 4 and the inner portion 5. The periphery is hemmed with resin tape (e.g., PP tape (polypropylene tape)) 8 to prepare a single long piece of fabric. Next, the fabric is folded in half at the middle portion in the longitudinal direction, and the gaps formed at the left and right ends of the folded pair of first fabrics 6, 7 are closed with other second fabrics 9, 10, thereby forming a space for storing rods and reels between the first fabrics 6, 7 and the second fabrics 9, 10. Note that the first fabric 6, 7, is folded in half so that one first fabric 6 is longer and protrudes forward than the front end of the other first fabric 7. Like the first fabrics 6 and 7, the second fabrics 9 and 10 are made up of three layers: an outer portion 4 made of polyester woven fabric, an inner portion 5 made of nylon woven fabric, and a middle portion (not shown) made of cushioning material and placed between the outer portion 4 and the inner portion 5. One (left) of the second fabrics 9 and 10, the second fabric 9, can be opened and closed freely using a slide fastener 11, as shown in Figure 1(b). The slide fastener 11 is made up of a number of teeth 11A provided on the edge that opens and closes, and a slider 11B for engaging these teeth 11A. An opening 12 through which a rod can be inserted into the main body 1 is formed between the tip of the short first fabric 7 and the inner portion 5 of the long first fabric 6.

[0022] In Fig. 1(a), the base end of a resin tape 24 having a hook portion 23 at its tip is sewn to the left end of the front side of the outer portion 4 of the long first fabric 6. As shown in Fig. 2(a), a loop portion 25, with which the hook portion 23 of the resin tape 24 can be engaged and disengaged, is sewn to the left end of the front end of the outer portion 4 of the short first fabric 7. Therefore, by engaging the hook portion 23 of the resin tape 24 with the loop portion 25, the long first fabric 6 and the short first fabric 7 can be connected as shown in Fig. 1(b).

[0023] The main body 1 of the rod case configured as described above has a tip end, which is one end extending in the longitudinal direction, and a base end, which is the other end, that are configured to be foldable in opposite directions. That is, the tip end of the main body 1 is configured to be foldable toward the base end, and the base end of the main body 1 is configured to be foldable toward the tip end. This allows the longitudinal length of the main body 1 to be shortened depending on the length of the rod to be accommodated in the main body 1. The main body 1 is provided with a first fastener 13 on the tip end side and a second fastener 14 on the base end side for holding the tip end and base end in a folded state.

The loop portion 14A that can engage with the hook portion 14B is determined by setting the folding position at any position within the folding range L1-L2 shown in FIG. 1(a). This allows the length of the main body 1 to be adjusted by changing the position at which the base end is held within this range.

Then, after opening the slide fastener 11, the rod is moved toward the tip (front) of the main body 1, and the reel is stored in the bulge 2, and then the slide fastener 11 is closed.

The rod is then stored in the main body portion 1. As described above, the rod can be stored in the main body portion 1 by opening the slide fastener 11 and moving the rod toward the tip side (front side) of the main body portion 1, or by inserting the rod into the main body portion 1 from the butt side through the opening 12.

Claims

1. A rod case made of a soft material that can accommodate a rod with a reel attached. an elongated body portion that houses the rod; a bulging portion bulging from the main body portion and accommodating the reel, One end and the other end of the main body extending in the longitudinal direction can be folded back in opposite directions, A rod case characterized in that the bulging portion is deformable so that at least a portion of it overlaps with the main body portion.

5. The rod case according to any one of claims 1 to 4, wherein the main body portion is provided with a third fastener that holds the bulge portion in the deformed state.
