Description

[Technical field]

[0001] CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS This application claims priority to Chinese Patent Application No. 202010916054.8, entitled “ALWAYS-ON-DISPLAY METHOD AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE,” filed with the China National Intellectual Property Office on September 3, 2020, which is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety.

[0002] The present application relates to the field of terminal technology, and in particular to an always-on display method and electronic device. [Background technology]

[0003] With the development of electronic devices, their functions are becoming more and more diverse. For example, for an electronic device with an Always-On-Display (AOD) function, when the screen of the electronic device is turned off, the always-on display screen displays the time and other information, so that the user can check the time on the electronic device at any time without having to repeatedly turn on the screen. This reduces the power consumption of the electronic device and improves the user experience.

[0004] However, current always-on screens do not support flexible display and are rather monotonous. Summary of the Invention [Means for solving the problem]

[0005] The embodiments of the present application provide an always-on display method and electronic device to realize flexible display of an always-on display screen.

[0006] According to a first aspect, an embodiment of the present application provides an always-on display method including: displaying, by an electronic device, an always-on display screen, where the always-on display screen includes a first image of a first display object; and in response to the electronic device detecting that an external object satisfies a first pre-set condition, displaying, by the electronic device, a second image of a second display object, where the second image is different from the first image.

[0007] The first display object may be the same as or different from the second display object, and the second image may be a moving video or a still image.

[0008] In this solution, the always-on screen displayed by the electronic device can change according to the external object, and when the external object meets a preset condition, a corresponding image or motion video will be displayed, so that the display of the always-on screen can be flexibly performed.

[0009] In a possible implementation, the electronic device can end displaying the second image after displaying the second image, and in another possible implementation, after the electronic device displays the second image, the method includes maintaining the display of the second image if the electronic device detects that the external object satisfies a second preset condition, and resuming the display of the first image if the electronic device does not detect that the external object satisfies the second preset condition.

[0010] The first preset condition may be the same as or different from the second preset condition.

[0011] The solution provides a specific implementation of the electronic device after the second image is displayed. For example, if the external object meets the second preset condition, the display of the second image is maintained, so that the electronic device continuously responds to the external object that meets the second preset condition, thereby ensuring the persistence of the display of the second image on the always-on display screen and improving the user experience. For example, if the external object does not meet the second preset condition, the display of the first image is resumed, so that the electronic device is restored to its original state, thereby reducing the power consumption of the electronic device.

[0012] If the second image is a moving video, in a possible implementation form, maintaining the display of the second image includes maintaining, by the electronic device, a display of a last frame image of the moving video, and in another possible implementation form, maintaining the display of the second image may alternatively be a step of repeatedly playing the moving video.

[0013] If the last frame image of the motion video is different from the first image, before resuming the display of the first image, the method further includes displaying, by the electronic device, a transition image for linking the second image with the first image. This solution allows for a gradual return from the second image to the first image, thereby realizing a smooth display of the always-on screen.

[0014] In a possible implementation, before displaying the first image, the method further comprises a step of displaying, by the electronic device, an initial image, the initial image being used to link the display of the first image. This solution allows the always-on screen to be displayed more flexibly.

[0015] The first and second preset conditions in the aforementioned solution include one or more of the following: a user waving, nodding, shaking their head, staring at the screen of the electronic device, tapping or shaking the screen of the electronic device, or an external device being connected.

[0016] In a possible implementation, before the step of displaying, by the electronic device, the second image of the second display object, the method further includes the steps of obtaining, by the electronic device, information about the external object, and determining, by the electronic device, display parameters of the second image based on the information about the external object, and the step of displaying, by the electronic device, the second image of the second display object includes the step of displaying, by the electronic device, the second image according to the display parameters. Optionally, the display parameters of the second image include one or more of the following: a header orientation parameter of the second display object in the second image, an attitude parameter of the second display object in the second image, a display frame rate of the second image, a display position parameter of the second display object in the second image, a style of the second display object in the second image, and a waveform parameter of the second display object in the second image. In this solution, the display parameters of the second image are determined, so that the always-on screen is displayed more flexibly.

[0017] The information about the external object may be the motion information of the external object (e.g., a user) or the information transmitted by the external object (e.g., an external device). The motion information of the external object includes one or more of the following: the gaze position of the external object on the screen of the electronic device, the intensity parameter of the motion of the external object, the intensity of the tap by the user on the screen, and the direction in which the external object approaches the electronic device. The motion of the external object includes, but is not limited to, at least one of the following: waving, nodding, shaking the head, turning the head, making an OK gesture, making a scissor gesture, making a smile, making a shouting face, and making a surprised face. For example, if the motion of the external object is waving, the intensity parameter of the motion of the external object may be the speed of waving.

[0018] In a possible implementation, the information regarding the external object includes biometric information transmitted by the external device, and determining by the electronic device display parameters of the second image based on the information regarding the external object includes determining by the electronic device a display frame rate of the second image based on the biometric information, and determining by the electronic device the second image in accordance with the display parameters includes displaying by the electronic device the second image at the display frame rate.

[0019] The biometric information may be one or more of the following: heart rate, calories, and number of steps. The information transmitted by the external device is not limited to heart rate in this example, but may alternatively be other biometric information, weather information, or location information. The other biometric information may include, but is not limited to, at least one of the following: calories and number of steps. The weather information may include, but is not limited to, at least one of the following: temperature and weather. The weather is, for example, light rain, sunny, cloudy, or heavy snow.

[0020] In this solution, the electronic device flexibly displays the always-on display screen through the interaction between the external device and the electronic device, and allows the user to obtain biometric information through the always-on display screen, thus not only enabling the always-on display screen to be flexibly displayed, but also improving the functionality of the electronic device.

[0021] In a possible implementation, the information about the external object includes style information transmitted by the external device, and determining, by the electronic device, display parameters of the second image based on the information about the external object includes determining, by the electronic device, a style of the second display object based on the style information, and determining, by the electronic device, the second image in accordance with the display parameters includes displaying, by the electronic device, the second display object in the style, where the second image includes the second display object displayed in the style.

[0022] This solution allows objects displayed on the always-on screen to change their style as the external device changes, realizing flexible display of the always-on screen.

[0023] In a possible implementation, before the electronic device displays the first image, the method further includes a step of obtaining, by the electronic device, an interaction mode selection command input by a user, and a step of determining, by the electronic device, a first display object that matches the interaction mode according to the interaction mode selection command.

[0024] This solution provides a specific implementation of an always-on screen setting, where the user can select the interaction mode according to their needs.

[0025] In a possible implementation, the electronic device can determine the first preset condition and the second preset condition based on an interaction mode. The interaction mode may correspond to a plurality of first preset conditions and / or a plurality of second preset conditions. Different first preset conditions may correspond to different second images or may correspond to the same second image. Different second preset conditions may correspond to different transition images or may correspond to the same transition image.

[0026] In a possible implementation, the electronic device can determine a first preset condition and a second preset condition based on a first display object. The display object may correspond to a plurality of first preset conditions and / or a plurality of second preset conditions. Different first preset conditions may correspond to different second images or may correspond to the same second image. Different second preset conditions may correspond to different transition images or may correspond to the same transition image.

[0027] According to a second aspect, an embodiment of the present application provides an electronic device including one or more displays, one or more memories, and one or more processors, wherein the one or more memories store one or more programs, and wherein the one or more processors, upon execution of the one or more programs, enable the electronic device to realize a method according to the first aspect or any possible implementation form of the first aspect.

[0028] According to a third aspect, an embodiment of the present application provides a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing computer instructions, the computer instructions being used to enable a computer to perform a method according to the first aspect or any possible implementation of the first aspect.

[0048] The wireless communication module 160 can provide wireless communication solutions for application to the electronic device 100, including, for example, wireless local area networks (WLAN) (e.g., Wi-Fi network), BT, global navigation satellite system (GNSS), frequency modulation (FM), near field communication (NFC), and infrared (IR). The wireless communication module 160 may be one or more devices integrating at least one communication processing module. The wireless communication module 160 receives electromagnetic waves via the antenna 2, performs frequency modulation and filtering processing on the electromagnetic wave signal, and transmits the processed signal to the processor 110. The wireless communication module 160 can also receive signals to be transmitted from the processor 110, perform frequency modulation and amplification on the signal, and transmit the signal as an electromagnetic wave using the antenna 2.

[0049] In some embodiments, in electronic device 100, antenna 1 is coupled to mobile communication module 150 and antenna 2 is coupled to wireless communication module 160, such that electronic device 100 can communicate with networks and other devices using wireless communication technologies. Wireless communication technologies may include global system for mobile communications (GSM), general packet radio service (GPRS), code division multiple access (CDMA), wideband code division multiple access (WCDMA), time-division code division multiple access (TD-SCDMA), long term evolution (LTE), BT, GNSS, WLAN, NFC, FM, IR technologies, etc. GNSS may include a global positioning system (GPS), a global navigation satellite system (GLONASS), a beidou navigation satellite system (BDS), a quasi-zenith satellite system (QZSS), and / or satellite based augmentation systems (SBAS).

[0050] The electronic device 100 realizes display functions using a GPU, a display 194, an application processor, etc. The GPU is an image processing microprocessor connected to the display 194 and the application processor. The GPU is configured to perform mathematical and geometric calculations and is used for rendering graphics. The processor 110 may include one or more GPUs that execute program instructions to generate or modify display information.

[0051] The display 194 is configured to display images, videos, etc. The display 194 includes a display panel. The display panel may be a liquid crystal display (LCD), an organic light-emitting diode (OLED), an active-matrix organic light-emitting diode (AMOLED), a flexible light-emitting diode (FLED), Miniled, MicroLed, Micro-oLed, quantum dot light emitting diodes (QLED), etc. In some embodiments, the electronic device 100 may include one or N displays 194, where N is a positive integer greater than 1.

[0052] Optionally, a touch sensor may be disposed on the display, with the touch sensor and display 194 forming a touch screen, also referred to as a "touch screen." The touch sensor is configured to detect a touch action applied on or near the touch sensor. The touch sensor may forward the detected touch action to an application processor to identify a type of touch event, and may provide a visual output associated with the touch action via the display 194. The touch sensor may alternatively be disposed at a location different from the location of the display 194 on the surface of the electronic device 100. The touch sensor may also be referred to as a touch panel or a touch-sensitive surface.

[0053] The electronic device 100 can achieve the photographing function using an ISP, a camera 193, a video codec, a GPU, a display 194, an application processor, and the like.

[0054] The ISP is configured to process data fed back by the camera 193. For example, during photography, a shutter is opened to allow light to be transmitted through the lens to the camera's light receiving element. The light signal is converted into an electrical signal. The camera's light receiving element forwards the electrical signal to the ISP for processing to convert the electrical signal into an image visible to the naked eye. The ISP can further optimize the noise, brightness, and skin tone of the image using algorithms. The ISP can further optimize parameters such as exposure and color temperature of the photographed scene. In some embodiments, the ISP may be located within the camera 193.

[0055] The digital signal processor is configured to process digital signals, and may process digital image signals as well as other digital signals, for example, when the electronic device 100 is selecting a frequency, the digital signal processor may be configured to perform a Fourier transform or the like on the frequency energy.

[0056] A video codec is configured to compress or decompress digital video. Electronic device 100 may support one or more types of video codecs, such that electronic device 100 can play or record video in multiple coding formats, such as moving picture experts group (MPEG) 1, MPEG2, MPEG3, and MPEG4.

[0057] The NPU is a neural-network (NN) computing processor that borrows the structure of biological neural networks, such as the transmission mode between human brain neurons, to rapidly process input information and can also constantly self-learn. The NPU may be used to realize intelligent cognition of the electronic device 100, such as applications such as image recognition, face recognition, speech recognition, and text understanding.

[0058] The external memory interface 120 may be configured to connect to an external storage card (e.g., a Micro SD card) to expand the storage capacity of the electronic device 100. The external storage card communicates with the processor 110 via the external memory interface 120 to realize a data storage function, for example, storing files such as music files and video files on the external storage card.

[0059] The internal memory 121 may be configured to store computer-executable program code including instructions. The internal memory 121 may include a storage program area and a data storage area. The storage program area may store an operating system, application programs required by at least one function (e.g., audio playback function or image playback function), and the like. The data storage area may store data created during use of the electronic device 100 (e.g., photos and contacts), and the like. In addition, the internal memory 121 may include a high-speed random access memory or may include a non-volatile memory, such as at least one magnetic disk storage device, a flash memory device, and a universal flash storage (UFS). By executing instructions stored in the internal memory 121 and / or instructions stored in a memory provided within the processor, the processor 110 executes various functions, applications, and data processing of the electronic device 100.

[0060] The electronic device 100 may provide audio functionality, such as music playback or recording, using an audio module 170, a loudspeaker 170A, a telephone receiver 170B, a microphone 170C, an earphone jack 170D, an application processor, etc.

[0061] Audio module 170 is configured to convert digital audio information to an analog audio signal output, and also to convert an analog audio input to a digital audio signal. Audio module 170 may be further configured to encode and decode audio signals. In some embodiments, audio module 170 may be provided within processor 110, or some functional modules of audio module 170 may be provided within processor 110.

[0062] In the following, the always-on display method of the present application is described using a specific embodiment.

[0063] 3 is a first flowchart of an always-on display method according to an embodiment of the present application. The method of the present application is applied to an electronic device, and the electronic device is in a screen-off state. Referring to FIG. 3, the method of this embodiment includes the following steps:

[0064] Step S301: The electronic device displays an always-on display screen, where the always-on display screen includes a first image of a first display object.

[0065] The first display object may be a virtual object such as a virtual deer, a virtual astronaut, a virtual feather, a virtual bird, or a virtual user. The first display object may be set by the user or may be a system default. For example, the electronic device may determine a first display object that matches the interaction mode according to an interaction mode selected by the user, or determine a first display object that matches the theme or style according to a theme or style selected by the user. The user may alternatively directly select one or more first display objects to be displayed at all times.

[0066] It will be appreciated that because the image on the always-on screen is displayed by lighting up certain pixels within the always-on screen, the always-on screen may be displayed with the first display object in an alterable position to prevent malfunction of pixels within the screen due to prolonged residence in the normally on state.

[0067] Step S302: The electronic device detects that an external object satisfies a first preset condition.

[0068] The external object may be a user or an external device. For example, the first preset condition may be a user's action, such as the user waving, nodding, shaking his head, staring at the screen, tapping the screen, or shaking the electronic device, or the first preset condition may be, for example, the establishment of a communication connection between the external device and the electronic device, or the distance from the external device to the electronic device is less than a preset distance. The first preset condition may be determined according to an interaction mode.

[0069] The first preset condition may be determined according to the first display object. Specifically, different first display objects may correspond to different first preset conditions. For example, when the first display object selected by the user is a virtual deer, the first preset condition may be that the user stares at the screen, and when the first display object selected by the user is a virtual feather, the first preset condition may be that the user shakes the electronic device.

[0070] Optionally, one first display object may correspond to multiple first preset conditions. For example, when the first display object selected by the user is a virtual astronaut, the first preset condition may be (1) the user waving his / her hand, or (2) the user tapping the screen.

[0071] Step S303: The electronic device displays a second image of a second display object, where the second image is different from the first image.

[0072] The first display object may be the same as or different from the second display object. The second image of the second display object may be a still image or a moving video. The second image of the second display object may be stored in a server, in the electronic device, or in an external device. When one first display object corresponds to a plurality of first preset conditions, the plurality of first preset conditions may correspond to different still images or moving videos, respectively. In this case, the electronic device may determine which image or moving video should be displayed according to the first preset condition that is satisfied. For example, when the condition (1) of the user waving his / her hand is satisfied, a first moving video of a virtual astronaut waving his / her hand may be displayed, and when the condition (2) of the user tapping the screen is satisfied, a second moving video of the virtual astronaut jumping may be displayed. As another example, when the condition (1) of staring at the right side of the screen is satisfied, a first moving video of a deer looking to the right may be displayed. When condition (2) of gazing to the left side of the screen is met, a second animated video of the deer looking left may be displayed.

[0073] Optionally, the electronic device can determine display parameters of the second image of the second display object according to an external object. For example, the electronic device can determine display parameters of the second image according to data detected by the external device. As another example, the electronic device can determine display parameters of the second image according to a user's action.

[0074] It will be understood that the display positions of the second image of the second display object and the first image of the display object may be the same or different, which is not limited herein.

[0075] The electronic device can terminate the display of the second image after the display of the second image is completed. Optionally, the electronic device can alternatively determine whether to terminate the display of the second image according to whether a second preset condition is satisfied.

[0076] For example, the method further includes the following steps.

[0077] Step S304: The electronic device detects whether the external object satisfies a second preset condition.

[0078] If the electronic device detects that the external object meets the second preset condition, the electronic device returns to step S303 to maintain the display of the second image. If the electronic device does not detect that the external object meets the second preset condition, the electronic device returns to step S301 to end the display of the second image and resume the display of the first image. The electronic device can repeat the above steps until the electronic device exits the always-on display state.

[0079] The second preset condition may be the same as the first preset condition or may be different from the first preset condition.

[0080] It will be appreciated that when the second image is a motion video, maintaining the display of the second image may be maintaining the display of the last frame image of the motion video or repeatedly playing the motion video.

[0081] Optionally, when the display of the second image ends and the display of the first image resumes, the electronic device may display a transition image to link the second image with the first image. The transition image may be a still image or a motion video.

[0082] It will be understood that when the second image is a motion video, the transition image for linking the first image with the second image is a transition image that links the last frame image of the motion video with the first image, and the last frame image of the motion video is different from the first image.

[0083] Optionally, upon entering the constant display, the electronic device may display an initial image for linking the display of the first image.

[0084] For example, before step 301, the method may further include step 300: displaying an initial image. The initial image may be a still image or a moving video. For example, when switching from a lock screen to an always-on screen, the electronic device may display an initial image for linking a lock screen with a first image. As another example, when switching from a lock screen to an always-on screen, the electronic device may display an initial image for linking a wallpaper screen with a first image.

[0085] In this embodiment, the always-on screen displayed by the electronic device can change according to an external object, and when the external object meets a preset condition, a corresponding image or moving video will be displayed, so that the display of the always-on screen can be flexibly performed.

[0086] The above method will be described in detail below using a concrete example.

[0087] 4A-4E show screens of an always-on display setting according to an embodiment of the present application. As shown in FIG. 4A, a screen 401 is an always-on display setting screen that displays an image of a virtual astronaut, indicating that the first display object currently set is a virtual astronaut. A user can select one or more interaction modes from an interaction mode list 402. The electronic device can determine the first display object according to the interaction mode selected by the user. For example, when a user selects to stare at or tap the screen, the electronic device can determine that the first display object corresponding to the interaction mode is a virtual deer. Optionally, as shown in FIG. 4B-4D, the electronic device can display a preview screen (e.g., screens 403-405) of the always-on display screen so that the user can see the display effect. In response to the user tapping a confirmation control (e.g., icon 406 in the preview screen), the electronic device changes the first display object. In this case, as shown in FIG. 4E, the image of the virtual astronaut displayed on the always-on display setting screen (screen 407) is updated to an image of a virtual deer.

[0088] Example 1: The display object is a virtual deer 5A-5C, when the electronic device enters the always-on display, the electronic device can display an initial image linked to the first image. As shown in screens 501-503, the electronic device displays an initial image of a virtual deer walking toward the center of the forest.

[0089] As shown in FIG. 6A, the electronic device displays a screen 601, which includes a first image (e.g., image 602) of a virtual deer. The electronic device obtains an image captured by a camera. The camera may be a low-power camera installed on the electronic device. The electronic device determines whether the captured image includes a face image. As shown in FIG. 6B, if the captured image includes a face image, it means that the user is staring at the screen of the electronic device, in which case the external object meets the first preset condition. Thus, as shown in FIG. 6C-6F, the electronic device displays a second image of the virtual deer. As shown in screens 603-606, the electronic device displays a moving video of the virtual deer's head turning from a first direction to a second direction and from the second direction back to the first direction. The first direction may be the direction of the virtual deer's head in the first image, e.g., toward the left side of the display. The second direction may be a preset direction, e.g., toward the front of the display.

[0090] Optionally, the electronic device may determine whether to terminate the display of the second image according to whether the external object is detected to satisfy a second preset condition.

[0091] For example, the second preset condition may be that the user is staring at the electronic screen. That is, the second preset condition is the same as the first preset condition. How to detect whether the user is staring at the screen of the electronic device can be known from the above description and will not be repeated here. If the external object meets the second preset condition, the display of the second image is maintained and the moving video of the screens 603 to 606 is displayed, and if the external object does not meet the second preset condition, the display of the first image (e.g., image 602) of the virtual deer is resumed.

[0092] Unlike the example of FIG. 6, where the last frame image (shown on screen 606) of the motion video is the same as the first image (shown on screen 606), the example of FIG. 7 is used to demonstrate a constant display in which the last frame image (screen 605) of the motion video is different from the second image.

[0093] Specifically, if the external object satisfies the first preset condition, the electronic device displays a second image in which the virtual deer's head turns from the first direction to the second direction, as shown in screen 603 of FIG. 7C and screen 604 of FIG. 7D. In this case, the last frame image (shown in screen 604) of the second image is different from the first image (shown in screen 602), as shown in FIG. 7A and FIG. 7D. In response to the case in which the external object does not satisfy the second preset condition, as shown in FIG. 7E and FIG. 7F, the electronic device can display a transition image for linking the first image and the second image. As shown in screens 605 and 606, a transition image is displayed in which the virtual deer's head turns from the second direction back to the first direction.

[0094] Unlike the examples of Figures 6 and 7 in which, after a second image is displayed in response to a case in which an external object satisfies a second preset condition, a motion video is repeatedly played to maintain the display of the second image, the example of Figure 8 is used to show that the display of the second image may alternatively be maintained by continuously displaying the last frame image of the second image.

[0095] Specifically, as shown in FIG. 8D, the electronic device displays image 607 and maintains the display of the second image until the electronic device detects that the second preset condition is not met.

[0096] It will be appreciated that the first display object in Example 1 is not limited to a virtual deer, but may alternatively be other objects.

[0097] It should be noted that the examples of Figures 6 to 8 have been described by taking the second direction as the preset direction. It will be understood that the second direction may alternatively be determined according to the direction of the user's gaze position on the screen. For example, when the user gazes at a first position on the screen, the second direction may be a direction toward the first position. Thus, the always-on screen can present more changes, so that the always-on screen is more flexibly displayed.

[0098] For example, the electronic device can obtain the user's gaze position on the screen by using an eye-tracking device provided in the electronic device, which may include an infrared component and a camera, where the infrared component shines infrared light on the eye, the eye reflects the infrared light, the camera captures the reflected infrared light, and the electronic device analyzes the captured image to determine the user's gaze position on the screen.

[0099] It should be noted that in the examples shown in Figures 6 to 8, the first and second preset conditions are described as the user staring at the screen. It will be understood that the first and second preset conditions are not limited thereto. For example, as shown in Figures 9 to 11, the first and second preset conditions may be the user tapping the screen.

[0100] After the electronic device enters the always-on display, as shown in Figure 9A, the electronic device displays a screen 601 including a first image 602 of a virtual deer. If the electronic device detects that a user taps the screen, meaning that the external object meets a first preset condition, the electronic device displays a second image of the virtual deer, as shown in Figures 9C-9E. As shown in screens 901-904, the electronic device displays an animated video of the virtual deer updating from a first pose to a second pose and then back from the second pose to the first pose.

[0101] The first pose may be the pose of the virtual deer in the first image, for example, the virtual deer's head facing towards the left side of the display with all legs upright, and the second pose may be a pre-set pose, for example, the virtual deer raising its head towards the top of the screen with one front leg raised.

[0102] As shown in the figure, after the electronic device displays the second image, if the electronic device detects that the user taps the screen within a preset period of time, it means that the external object meets the second preset condition, and the display of the second image is maintained; if the electronic device does not detect that the user taps the screen within a preset period of time, it means that the external object does not meet the second pre-condition, and the display of the first image 602 of the virtual deer is resumed.

[0103] Similar to the example shown in Figure 7, the electronic device can display a transition image to link the second image with the first image, as shown in Figures 10D and 10E. Specifically, the posture of the virtual deer in the first image is a first posture, and the second image is a motion video of the virtual deer changing from the first posture to the second posture. As shown in screens 903 and 904, the electronic device can display a transition image of the virtual deer changing from the second posture back to the first posture.

[0104] Similar to the example shown in Figure 8, as shown in Figures 11A-11E, after displaying the second image, if the electronic device detects that the second preset condition is met, the electronic device displays image 905 until the second preset condition is no longer met, and then the electronic device resumes displaying image 602. For a detailed description, please refer to the above content, which will not be repeated here.

[0105] Optionally, the second posture may be associated with the strength with which the user taps the screen. Specifically, the electronic device measures the strength with which the user taps the screen and determines the second posture according to the strength. For example, the greater the strength, the greater the difference between the second posture and the first posture, or the greater the variation of the second posture relative to the first posture.

[0106] It will be appreciated that a display object may correspond to one preset condition or to multiple preset conditions, for example, a virtual deer may correspond to two preset conditions: (1) staring at the screen and (2) tapping the screen.

[0107] It should be noted that this embodiment is described with a virtual deer as an example of a display object, but it is understood that the display object is not limited thereto. For example, the display object may be a virtual astronaut, a virtual bird, a virtual feather, etc., which is not limited in this embodiment. Different display objects may correspond to the same or different pre-set conditions.

[0108] Example 2: As shown in Figure 12, the display object is a virtual astronaut. The first and second pre-set conditions are the detection of a waving motion.

[0109] The electronic device obtains an image captured by the camera, and determines whether a waving motion is detected according to the captured image. If a waving motion is detected, the electronic device displays a second image of the virtual astronaut, as shown in FIG. 12C to FIG. 12E. In this case, the second image may be a moving video of the virtual astronaut waving. For details, please refer to the above content, and will not be repeated here.

[0110] Optionally, the electronic device can determine the second image to be displayed according to the user's waving speed. Specifically, the electronic device identifies the user's waving speed based on the captured image, and determines the virtual astronaut's waving speed according to the user's waving speed. For example, a higher waving speed of the user corresponds to a higher frame rate of the second image and a faster waving speed of the virtual astronaut. Conversely, a slower waving speed of the user corresponds to a lower frame rate of the second image and a slower waving speed of the virtual astronaut.

[0111] It will be understood that the user waving is used as an illustrative example without limiting the preset condition, which may alternatively be, for example, nodding, shaking head, turning head, making an OK gesture, making a scissor gesture, making a smile, making a screaming face, making a surprised face, etc. Different preset conditions may correspond to different second images. When the preset condition is nodding, the electronic device can determine the frame rate of the display of the second image according to the nodding speed. For example, a higher nodding speed corresponds to a higher frame rate of the second image and a faster nodding speed of the virtual astronaut. Conversely, a slower nodding speed of the user corresponds to a lower frame rate of the second image and a slower nodding speed of the virtual astronaut.

[0112] The above examples are described assuming that the first and second preset conditions are the same. In the following, Example 3 is used to describe a scenario in which the first and second preset conditions are different.

[0113] Example 3: As shown in FIG. 13, the display object is a virtual bird. The first preset condition is detecting that the distance between the user and the electronic device is equal to or less than a first preset distance. The electronic device can identify the first distance between the external object and the electronic device through a distance sensor. If the first distance between the external object and the electronic device is equal to or less than the first preset distance, a moving video of the virtual bird flying out of the screen is displayed. The second preset condition is detecting that the distance between the user and the electronic device is greater than a second preset distance. If the first distance between the external object and the electronic device is greater than the second preset distance, a moving video of the virtual bird flying into the screen is displayed. The first preset distance and the second preset distance may be the same or different.

[0114] Optionally, the electronic device can identify an approaching direction of the external object and determine a flight direction of the virtual bird according to the approaching direction of the external object, for example, the external object approaches the electronic device toward the left front of the screen, and the electronic device displays a second image of the virtual bird flying out of the screen from the left side of the screen.

[0115] Example 4: As shown in Fig. 14, the display object is a virtual feather. The first and second pre-set conditions are that the user shakes the electronic device.

[0116] The electronic device can obtain the acceleration of the electronic device through the acceleration sensor, and identify a vibration frequency of the electronic device based on the acceleration. If the first vibration frequency is greater than the preset vibration frequency, it is considered that the user is shaking the electronic device, which means that the external object satisfies the first preset condition or the second preset condition. As shown in screens 1401-1403, the electronic device can display a second image in which a virtual feather is floating on the screen.

[0117] Optionally, when the second image is displayed, the pixels that are lit when the first image is displayed can be suppressed from being lit in order to prevent the pixels in the display from malfunctioning due to long dwells in the normally on state. The display positions of the display objects may be different. For example, referring to Fig. 15A and Fig. 15B, the solid pixels in Fig. 15A are pixels that are lit to display a stationary virtual feather, and the solid pixels in Fig. 15B are pixels that are lit to display a floating virtual feather. The pixels that are lit when the second image is displayed are different from the pixels that are lit when the first image is displayed.

[0118] Optionally, the electronic device further determines the floating speed of the displayed virtual feather according to a vibration frequency of the electronic device. For details, please refer to the above content, which will not be repeated here.

[0119] It should be noted that Examples 1-4 have been described by using a user as the external object, and it will be understood that the external object may alternatively be an electronic device.

[0120] Example 5: As shown in FIG. 16, the display object is time information, and the first and second preset conditions are that an external device, such as a wristwatch, is connected to the electronic device.

[0121] Specifically, after the electronic device enters the always-on display, as shown in Fig. 16B, the electronic device displays a screen 1601 including "08:08", "Tuesday, October 15", and "August 29, Gengzi Year". It should be understood that the time information for displaying the current time and the power information for displaying the remaining power may change according to the passage of time and the change of the remaining power. At this time, the display style of the time on the screen 1601 is Style A.

[0122] When it is detected that the watch is connected to the mobile phone, meaning that the external object meets the first preset condition, the electronic device displays a second image, which may be determined according to the time display style of the watch.

[0123] Specifically, in response to detecting that the first preset condition is met, the electronic device obtains watch display style information, which is used to characterize the watch display style (e.g., style B). The electronic device determines to display the time in style B based on this information. That is, the second image includes the time displayed in style B. It will be understood that, as shown in FIG. 17, when the watch display style is style C, the second image of the electronic device may include the time displayed in style C.

[0124] Note that when the time is displayed in style B, as shown in FIG. 18, other information such as the date and remaining power may not be displayed.

[0125] It should be noted that in Examples 1-5, the display object of the first image and the second image are the same display object. It should be understood that the display object of the first image and the second image may alternatively be different. This will be described below using Example 6.

[0126] Example 6: After the electronic device enters the always-on display, as shown in FIG. 19B, the electronic device displays screen 1601, where the electronic device displays a first image (eg, image 1901) of a first display object.

[0127] If the external object satisfies the first preset condition, the electronic device displays a second image (e.g., image 1902) including a second display object. As shown in screen 1601 and screen 1903, the second display object, which is a virtual heart, is different from the first display object.

[0128] Optionally, the electronic device can determine the second image according to the heart rate information detected by the watch. Specifically, the electronic device receives the heart rate information sent by the watch, and generates the second image according to the heart rate information, and the second image is a moving video of a virtual heartbeat. The waveform displaying the heartbeat frequency and the heart rate curve in the second image can be determined according to the heart rate information.

[0129] It will be understood that the external device is not limited to the wristwatch or sports bracelet in Examples 5 and 6, and may alternatively be other external devices. The information received by and transmitted by the external device is also not limited to heart rate in the examples, and may alternatively be other biometric information, weather information, or location information. The other biometric information may include, but is not limited to, at least one of the following: calories and steps. The weather information may include, but is not limited to, at least one of the following: temperature and weather. The weather is, for example, light rain, sunny, cloudy, or heavy snow.
