Description

[Technical field]

[0001] The present invention relates to an optical line sensor member for protecting components provided inside an optical line sensor unit for reading general-purpose paper, banknotes, securities, and other paper sheets from paper powder, dust, and the like, and a method for manufacturing the same. [Background technology]

[0002] Conventionally, an optical line sensor member for protecting components provided inside an optical line sensor unit for reading paper sheets such as general-purpose paper, banknotes, and securities from paper powder and dust is generally composed of a transparent part that transmits light and an opaque part that does not transmit light. Specifically, the transparent part is surrounded by an opaque part. If there is a step at the boundary between the transparent part and the opaque part, the paper sheet being transported may get caught on the step and cause a paper jam. For example, when the paper sheet is transported at high speed, even a slight step of a few tens of μm (50 to 60 μm) can cause a paper jam. Therefore, in order to stably transport the paper sheet, it is desirable to eliminate the step between the transparent part and the opaque part as much as possible.

[0003] In view of this, conventionally, optical line sensor members have been manufactured using methods for reducing the step at the boundary between the transparent and opaque parts (see Patent Documents 1, 2, and 3). [Prior art documents] [Patent documents]

[0004] [Patent Document 1] International Publication No. 2015 / 098300 [Patent Document 2] JP 2012-075008 A [Patent Document 3] JP 2010-268131 A Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]

[0005] However, conventionally, it has been difficult to eliminate the steps that cause paper jams in each component having a surface facing the transport path, such as the component that constitutes the transparent portion (hereinafter referred to as the "transparent component") and the component that constitutes the opaque portion (hereinafter referred to as the "cover component"), and it is not realistic to keep the steps caused by differences in thickness between each component to less than a few tens of μm.

[0006] SUMMARY OF THE PRESENT EMBODIMENT In view of the above circumstances, an object of the present invention is to provide an optical line sensor member and a manufacturing method thereof that are capable of suppressing the occurrence of paper jams. [Means for solving the problem]

[0007] The first invention is a member of an optical line sensor unit having a light source section that irradiates light toward a transport path and a light receiving section that outputs a signal according to the amount of light from the transport path, and includes a transparent member that transmits light incident on the light receiving section, and a cover member that is arranged to surround the outer periphery of the transparent member and does not transmit light. A comb-tooth-shaped convex portion is formed on a side parallel to the main scanning direction on the outer periphery of the transparent member, and a comb-tooth-shaped concave portion that receives the comb-tooth-shaped convex portion of the transparent member is formed at a portion of the cover member facing the transparent member. The comb-tooth-shaped convex portion of the transparent member is bonded to the abutting portion of the comb-tooth-shaped concave portion of the cover member with an adhesive.

[0008] According to the first invention, by forming a comb-tooth-shaped convex portion on the transparent member and a comb-tooth-shaped concave portion on the cover member, the contact area between the optical line sensor member and paper sheets such as general-purpose paper, banknotes, and securities is reduced, thereby suppressing the occurrence of paper jams.

[0009] The second invention is a member of an optical line sensor unit having a light source section that irradiates light toward a transport path and a light receiving section that outputs a signal according to the amount of light from the transport path, and includes a transparent member that transmits light incident on the light receiving section, a first cover member that holds the outer periphery of the transparent member, and a second cover member that is arranged to surround the outer periphery of the first cover member and does not transmit light. A comb-tooth-shaped protrusion is formed on a side parallel to the main scanning direction on the outer periphery of the first cover member, and a comb-tooth-shaped recess that receives the comb-tooth-shaped protrusion of the first cover member is formed at a location of the second cover member facing the first cover. The comb-tooth-shaped protrusion of the first cover member is bonded to an abutting portion of the comb-tooth-shaped recess of the second cover member with an adhesive.

[0010] According to the second invention, similarly to the first invention, the contact area between the paper sheet and the optical line sensor member is reduced, making it possible to suppress the occurrence of paper jams.

[0011] A third invention is a member of an optical line sensor unit having a light source section that irradiates light toward a transport path and a light receiving section that outputs a signal according to the amount of light from the transport path, the member comprising a transparent member that transmits light incident on the light receiving section, a first cover member that holds the outer periphery of the transparent member, and a second cover member that is arranged to surround the outer periphery of the first cover member and does not transmit light. A tapered surface is formed on a side parallel to the main scanning direction on the outer periphery of the first cover member, and a tapered surface parallel to the tapered surface of the first cover member is formed on a portion of the second cover member that faces the first cover member. The inclination angle of the tapered surface of the first cover member and the inclination angle of the tapered surface of the second cover member are approximately the same, and the tapered surface of the first cover member and the tapered surface of the second cover member are joined with an adhesive.

[0012] A fourth invention is according to the second or third invention, wherein the transparent member has a substantially rectangular cross section cut along a direction perpendicular to the main scanning direction, and the first cover member has an opening into which the transparent member is inserted. A stepped surface is formed on a side of the opening parallel to the main scanning direction, and an end of the transparent member and the stepped surface of the first cover member are joined with an adhesive.

[0013] A fifth invention is according to the second or third invention, and the transparent member has a generally trapezoidal shape in a cross section cut along a direction perpendicular to the main scanning direction, with the side facing the transport path being the short side, and has a tapered surface with an inclination on a side parallel to the main scanning direction. The first cover member has a tapered surface formed generally parallel to the tapered surface on the side of the transparent member parallel to the main scanning direction. The tapered surface of the transparent member and the tapered surface of the first cover member are joined with an adhesive.

[0014] A sixth invention is dependent on the first invention, and further includes disposing a light blocking member in the vicinity of the comb-tooth shaped convex portion of the transparent member.

[0015] A seventh invention is according to any one of the first to fifth inventions, and the adhesive is any one of an ultraviolet light curing adhesive, a heat curing adhesive, a thermoplastic adhesive, a moisture curing adhesive, and a two-component curing adhesive.

[0016] An eighth invention is dependent on any one of the first to sixth inventions, wherein the transparent member is glass.

[0017] A ninth aspect of the present invention is according to the second or third aspect of the present invention, wherein the first cover member is transparent.

[0018] A tenth invention is a manufacturing method for an optical line sensor member in the third invention, including a step of applying an adhesive to the tapered surface of the first cover member or the tapered surface of the second cover member, a step of opposing the tapered surface of the first cover member to the tapered surface of the second cover member, a step of placing a flat plate on the transport path side and pressing the first cover member against the flat plate from the direction opposite the transport path side using a pressing member, and a step of hardening the adhesive.

[0019] According to the tenth aspect of the present invention, the tapered surface of the second cover member is straightened to match the tapered surface of the first cover member, and the difference in the warping correction between the two members can be minimized when they are joined together, thereby eliminating the step that can cause paper jams.

[0020] An eleventh invention is according to the ninth invention, in which the adhesive is an ultraviolet light curing adhesive, and in the process of curing the adhesive, ultraviolet light is irradiated from an ultraviolet light source onto the tapered surface of the first cover member and the tapered surface of the second cover member.

[0021] A twelfth invention is according to the tenth invention, and in the step of curing the adhesive, a part of the ultraviolet light from the ultraviolet light source is blocked by the pressing member. Effect of the Invention

[0022] According to the present invention, it is possible to prevent the occurrence of paper jams when general-purpose paper, banknotes, securities, and other paper sheets are transported. [Brief description of the drawings]

[0024] 1. Overall configuration of the optical line sensor unit according to the first embodiment First, the optical line sensor unit 1 will be described with reference to Fig. 1 and Fig. 2. Fig. 1 is a cross-sectional view that shows a schematic example of the configuration of the optical line sensor unit 1 according to the first embodiment, and Fig. 2 is a perspective view that shows a schematic part of the configuration example of the optical line sensor unit 1 according to the first embodiment.

[0025] At least one optical line sensor unit 1 provided on a transport path 3 for transporting paper sheets 2 is composed of a housing 4, a light source unit 5, a lens array 6, a substrate 7, a light receiving unit 8 mounted on the substrate 7, and an optical line sensor member 9. The paper sheets 2 in the first embodiment include, for example, general-purpose paper, banknotes, and securities.

[0026] 2, the housing 4 and the substrate 7 extend in the Y-axis direction, and within the housing 4, the light source unit 5, the lens array 6, and the light receiving unit 8 extend in the Y-axis direction. Also, as shown in FIG. 3, the optical sensor member 9 also extends in the Y-axis direction, similar to the housing 4. The Y-axis direction is the main scanning direction.

[0027] The light source unit 5 is a line light source for irradiating light toward the paper sheet 2 transported in the X-axis direction on the transport path 3. The X-axis direction is the sub-scanning direction and is perpendicular to the Y-axis direction. The Z-axis direction is the height direction of the housing 4, the light source unit 5, the optical line sensor member 9, etc.

[0028] Also, as shown in FIG. 2, the light source unit 5 includes a first light source 5a and a second light source 5b, where the first light source 5a is provided at one end of the light source unit 5 in the Y-axis direction, and the second light source 5b is provided at the other end.

[0029] The first light source 5a includes an ultraviolet light source and a substrate for mounting the ultraviolet light source, and the second light source 5b includes a light source corresponding to light other than ultraviolet light and a substrate for mounting the light source. Note that the light other than ultraviolet light here includes at least one of visible light and infrared light. However, the type of light source is not limited to these, and it is possible to omit either the first light source 5a or the second light source 5b.

[0030] The light source unit 5 further includes a board 5c for supplying power to the first light source 5a or the second light source 5b. The board 5c is connected to a power source (not shown) for driving the light source unit 5.

[0031] Furthermore, the light source unit 5 includes a light guide 5d and a cover member 5e for holding the light guide 5d, and the light incident on the light guide 5d from the first light source 5a and the second light source 5b is diffused and refracted in the light guide 5d and then emitted from the light guide 5d. The light guide 5d extends in the Y-axis direction, and the first light source 5a and the second light source 5b are provided at both ends of the light guide 5d in the Y-axis direction. The light emitted from the side surface (emission surface) of the light guide 5d along the Y-axis direction is emitted with a uniform amount of light along the Y-axis direction.

[0032] From such light source unit 5, visible light, ultraviolet light, infrared light, etc. are irradiated onto the paper sheet 2. For ultraviolet light, any value between 300 nm and 400 nm is set as the peak wavelength, and for infrared light, any value up to 1500 nm is set as the peak wavelength.

[0033] Furthermore, at least the ultraviolet light among the lights irradiated to the paper sheet 2 may be emitted so as not to overlap with other lights in time (i.e., while being switched in time). Furthermore, the infrared light may be emitted so as to overlap with the visible light in time, or so as not to overlap with it in time.

[0034] The lens array 6 is an optical element for focusing (converging) light (reflected light and fluorescent light) from the paper sheet 2 onto the light receiving unit 8, and a rod lens array such as a SELFOC Lens Array (registered trademark: manufactured by Nippon Sheet Glass) is used as the lens array 6. In the embodiment of the present invention, the magnification of the lens array 6 is set to 1 (erect). Furthermore, the lens array 6 may be provided with an optical filter that blocks ultraviolet light in order to prevent irradiation of the light receiving unit 8 with ultraviolet light.

[0035] The light receiving unit 8 is configured to include at least a general-purpose light receiving element. The light receiving unit 8 detects light from the paper sheet 2, and outputs a signal corresponding to the amount of light to the substrate 7. The light receiving unit 8 may be a so-called multi-chip type linear image sensor in which a plurality of ICs (Integrated Circuits) each integrating a photodiode, a phototransistor, a drive circuit, and an amplifier circuit are arranged.

[0036] If necessary, electrical circuits such as a drive circuit and an amplifier circuit, or a connector for extracting signals to the outside may be mounted on the substrate 7. Furthermore, an A / D converter, various correction circuits, an image processing circuit, a line memory, an I / O control circuit, etc. may be mounted on the substrate 7, and digital signals may be extracted to the outside.

[0037] The optical line sensor member 9 is provided to protect the light source unit 5, the lens array 6, etc. from dust (e.g., paper powder). As shown in Fig. 1, the optical line sensor member 9 is provided between the transport path 3 and the housing 4 so as to cover the internal space of the housing 4 in which the light source unit 5, the lens array 6, etc. are provided.

[0038] 2. Configuration of the optical line sensor member of the first embodiment The optical line sensor member 9 will be specifically described with reference to Fig. 3 and Fig. 4. Fig. 3 is a perspective view that shows an example of the configuration of the optical line sensor member 9 according to the first embodiment, and Fig. 4 is a cross-sectional view that shows an example of the configuration of the optical line sensor member 9 according to the first embodiment. Fig. 3 and Fig. 4 also show a state in which a transparent member 11, which will be described later, is separated in the Z-axis direction from a cover member 12, which will be described later.

[0039] As shown in FIG. 3 and FIG. 4, the optical line sensor member 9 is composed of a transparent member 11 and a cover member 12 provided around the transparent member 11.

[0040] The transparent member 11 is a transparent plate that transmits light. For example, from the viewpoint of wear resistance, a glass plate, specifically white plate glass, borosilicate glass, or the like, is used as the transparent member 11. Glass has a good transmittance for ultraviolet light, and further has a good transmittance not only for ultraviolet light but also for the near-infrared region. Alternatively, a resin plate, specifically an acrylic resin plate, a cycloolefin resin plate, or the like, may be used as the transparent member 11.

[0041] The transparent member 11 has a transport surface 11a and an incident surface 11b. The transport surface 11a is a surface parallel to the transport path 3 and located on the transport path 3 side, and the incident surface 11b is a surface parallel to the transport path 3 and located on the opposite side to the transport path 3 side, into which light from the light source unit 5 is incident.

[0042] Furthermore, in the first embodiment, comb-tooth-shaped protrusions 11c are formed symmetrically at both ends (outer ends) in the X-axis direction of transparent member 11.

[0043] Specifically, convex portions that protrude outward from transparent member 11 along the X-axis direction are formed at regular intervals along the Y-axis direction at the outer end of transparent member 11. Therefore, it can be said that comb-tooth shaped convex portions are formed on the sides of the outer periphery of transparent member 11 that are parallel to the Y-axis direction.

[0044] Furthermore, the transparent member 11 has abutting surfaces (not shown) that are end faces that form a pair in the Y-axis direction, and also has an end face 11d and an abutting surface 11e that form a pair in the X-axis direction.

[0045] Further, the pair of end faces 11d includes a contact surface 11h parallel to the Z-axis direction, and a tapered surface 11i tapered toward the transport path 3. Therefore, in the first embodiment, a part or the entirety of the pair of end faces 11d is formed so as to taper toward the transport path 3.

[0046] In addition, the inclination angles of the tapered surfaces 11i included in each end surface 11d with respect to the transport surface 11a are the same. That is, the transparent member 11 has a substantially trapezoidal shape in whole or in part in a cross section when cut along the X-axis direction.

[0047] As the cover member 12, for example, an opaque plate that does not transmit light is used. Since the material and composition of the cover member 12 are not particularly limited, for example, a plate made of resin or the like as described above is used as the cover member 12. From the viewpoint of suppressing stray light caused by light from outside the viewing angle (see FIG. 1) via the lens array 6 of the light receiving unit 8, a black plate may be used as the cover member 12.

[0048] The cover member 12 has a transport surface 12a and an incident surface 12b. The transport surface 12a is a surface that is parallel to the transport path 3 and is located on the transport path 3 side. The incident surface 12b is a surface that is parallel to the transport path 3 and is located on the opposite side to the transport path 3 side.

[0049] As described above, since the cover member 12 is provided around the transparent member 11, the cover member 12 has the through hole (opening) 13 that penetrates in the Z-axis direction, that is, in the height direction of the cover member 12, formed therein.

[0050] The through hole 13 includes a first through hole 13a and a second through hole 13b. The first through hole 13a is a hole on the transport path 3 side, and the second through hole 13b is a hole located on the housing 7 side.

[0051] The shape of first through hole 13a in the XY plane is similar to the shape of transparent member 11 in the XY plane. Therefore, the width of first through hole 13a in the X-axis direction is similar to the width of transparent member 11 in the X-axis direction. Furthermore, the width of first through hole 13a in the Y-axis direction is similar to the width of transparent member 11 in the Y-axis direction.

[0052] The width in the X-axis direction of second through hole 13b is smaller than the width in the X-axis direction of transparent member 11. Furthermore, the width in the Y-axis direction of second through hole 13b is smaller than the width in the Y-axis direction of transparent member 11. Note that the width in the Y-axis direction of second through hole 13b may be the same as the width in the Y-axis direction of transparent member 11.

[0053] Furthermore, the center of first through hole 13a and the center of second through hole 13b overlap in the Z-axis direction. From these facts, it can be said that the size of through hole 13 changes in stages.

[0054] The depth of first through hole 13a in the Z-axis direction is approximately the same as the height of transparent member 11 in the Z-axis direction. Moreover, the depth of first through hole 13a in the Z-axis direction is preferably set to be greater than the height of transparent member 11 in the Z-axis direction. In other words, the height of transparent member 11 in the Z-axis direction is preferably set to be smaller than the depth of first through hole 13a in the Z-axis direction.

[0055] Further, since the through hole 13 is formed in the cover member 12, the cover member 12 has ends opposed to each other via the through hole 13. In the first embodiment, comb-tooth-shaped recesses 12c are formed symmetrically at the ends (inner ends) opposed to each other via the first through hole 13a in the X-axis direction.

[0056] Specifically, recesses recessed outwardly of the cover member 12 along the X-axis direction are formed at the inner end of the cover member 12 at regular intervals in the Y-axis direction.

[0057] Furthermore, since the cover member 12 has ends facing each other across the through hole 13, the cover member 12 defines the first through hole 13 and has a pair of abutment surfaces (not shown) in the Y-axis direction. The cover member 12 also defines the first through hole 13 and has an end surface 12d and an abutment surface 12e that each form a pair in the X-axis direction.

[0058] Furthermore, in the first embodiment, the pair of end faces 12d includes abutment surfaces 12h parallel to the Z-axis direction, and tapered surfaces 12i tapered away from the transport path 3. Therefore, in the first embodiment, a part or the entire pair of end faces 12d is formed so as to taper away from the transport path 3. Also, the inclination angles of the tapered surfaces 12i included in each end face 12d with respect to the transport surface 12a are the same.

[0059] 3, a protrusion 14 that protrudes toward the Z-axis direction is provided at one end of the conveying surface 12a of the cover member 12 in the Y-axis direction, which does not overlap with the conveying path 3 when viewed along the Z-axis direction. The protrusion 14 serves as a reference for arranging a detection sensor for detecting the position of the paper sheet 2.

[0060] In the first embodiment, the transparent member 11 is joined to the cover member 12 with an adhesive. Specifically, the transparent member 11 is joined to the cover member 12 with an adhesive in the through hole 13. More specifically, the transparent member 11 is joined to the cover member 12 with an adhesive in the first through hole 13a.

[0061] In this case, the comb-tooth-shaped protrusions 11c and the comb-tooth-shaped recesses 12c are bonded with an adhesive. Therefore, the contact surfaces 11h and 12e are bonded with an adhesive, and the contact surfaces 12h and 11e are also bonded with an adhesive.

[0062] Furthermore, the surface defining the first through hole 13a also includes a step surface (contact surface) 12f corresponding to the step between the first through hole 13a and the second through hole 13b. The contact surface 12f is a surface perpendicular to the Z-axis direction, and the contact surface 12f is joined to a part of the incident surface 11b with an adhesive. When the width of the second through hole 13b in the Y-axis direction is the same as the width of the transparent member 11 in the Y-axis direction, only the contact surface 12f extending in the Y-axis direction is formed on the cover member 12.

[0063] Therefore, the cover member 13 has a through hole 13 into which the transparent member 11 is inserted, and an abutment surface 12f is formed on at least the side parallel to the Y-axis direction of the through hole 13 in the X-axis direction and the Y-axis direction, and it can be said that the end of the transparent member 11, specifically, a part of the incident surface 11b and the abutment surface 12f are joined with an adhesive.

[0064] In the first embodiment, comb-tooth-shaped protrusions 11c are formed on the sides parallel to the Y-axis direction on the outer periphery of the transparent member 11, and comb-tooth-shaped recesses 12c for receiving the comb-tooth-shaped protrusions 11c are formed in the portions of the cover member 12 facing the comb-tooth-shaped protrusions 11c, and it can be said that the comb-tooth-shaped protrusions 11c are bonded to the abutment portions of the comb-tooth-shaped recesses 12c with an adhesive. The abutment portions include abutment surfaces 12e, 12h, and 12f.

[0065] In the first embodiment, the transparent member 11 is formed with the comb-tooth-shaped convex portion 11c, and the cover member 12 is formed with the comb-tooth-shaped concave portion 12c, thereby reducing the contact area between the paper sheet 2 and the optical line sensor member 9. Therefore, even if a height difference occurs between the conveying surface 11a of the transparent member 11 and the conveying surface 12a of the cover member 12, the occurrence of paper jams can be suppressed.

[0066] Furthermore, when the comb-tooth-shaped protrusions 11c have tapered surfaces 11i, the force in the transport direction applied to the paper sheets 2 can be released as the paper sheets 2 are transported. This further reduces paper jams. Furthermore, when the comb-tooth-shaped recesses 12c have tapered surfaces 12i, the same can be said for the cases where the comb-tooth-shaped protrusions 11c have tapered surfaces 11i and the comb-tooth-shaped recesses 12c have tapered surfaces 12i.

[0067] When tapered surface 11i and tapered surface 12i intersect in a cross section along the X-axis direction as shown in Fig. 4, a groove extending in the Y-axis direction is formed. Therefore, in this embodiment, the width in the X-axis direction of comb-tooth-shaped convex portion 11c, the width in the X-axis direction of comb-tooth-shaped concave portion 12c, and the inclination angle of each tapered surface are set so that tapered surface 11i and tapered surface 12i do not intersect in a cross section along the X-axis direction as shown in Fig. 4.

[0068] As the adhesive, a general-purpose adhesive is used, for example, a heat-curing adhesive, a thermoplastic adhesive, a moisture-curing adhesive, or a two-component curing adhesive. An ultraviolet light-curing adhesive is an adhesive that cures when irradiated with ultraviolet light. A heat-curing adhesive is an adhesive that cures when heated. A thermoplastic adhesive is an adhesive that cures when cooled after being melted by heating. A moisture-curing adhesive is an adhesive that cures by reacting with moisture in the air. A two-component curing adhesive is an adhesive that cures by mixing a curing agent with the main agent.

[0069] Furthermore, if reflected light from the paper sheet 2 is incident from the vicinity of the comb-tooth-shaped protrusions 11c and comb-tooth-shaped recesses 12c, it may adversely affect the detection of the paper sheet 2, so a light-shielding means may be provided near the comb-tooth-shaped protrusions 11c. For example, a light-shielding member is placed near the comb-tooth-shaped protrusions 11c. Specifically, a light-shielding tape is placed near the comb-tooth-shaped protrusions 11c. Alternatively, the vicinity of the comb-tooth-shaped protrusions 11c is painted with a paint that does not transmit light.

[0070] 3. Configuration of the optical line sensor member of the second embodiment The second embodiment is similar to the first embodiment except for a change in the configuration of the optical line sensor member 9. Therefore, a description that overlaps with the first embodiment will be omitted.

[0071] In the second embodiment, the optical line sensor member 9 is configured as shown in Fig. 5 and Fig. 6. Fig. 5 is a perspective view that shows an example of the configuration of the optical line sensor member 9 according to the second embodiment, and Fig. 6 is a cross-sectional view that shows an example of the configuration of the optical line sensor member 9 according to the second embodiment. Fig. 5 and Fig. 6 are also views showing a state in which the transparent member 15 described later is separated in the Z-axis direction from the first cover member 16 described later. Fig. 5 and Fig. 6 are also views showing a state in which the first cover member 16 is separated in the Z-axis direction from the second cover member 18 described later.

[0072] The optical line sensor member 9 of the second embodiment is composed of a transparent member 15, a first cover member 16 provided around the transparent member 15, and a second cover member 18 provided around the first cover member 16. Note that in the second and subsequent embodiments, illustrations of a configuration corresponding to the protrusion 14 are omitted.

[0073] The material of transparent member 15 is the same as that of transparent member 11. The shape of transparent member 15 is approximately rectangular. Transparent member 15 extends in the Y-axis direction. A cross section of transparent member 15 cut along the X-axis direction is approximately rectangular with the X-axis direction as the longitudinal direction. Transparent member 15 has conveying surface 15a and incident surface 15b. Description of conveying surface 15a and incident surface 15b, which correspond to conveying surface 11a and incident surface 11b, will be omitted.

[0074] The material of the first cover member 16 is the same as that of the cover member 12. The material of the first cover member 16 may be the same as that of the transparent member 11. That is, the first cover member 16 may transmit light.

[0075] Since the first cover member 16 is provided around the transparent member 15, the first cover member 16 has a through hole 17 formed therein, which penetrates the first cover member 16 in the Z-axis direction.

[0076] The shape of the first cover member 16 other than the through-hole 17 is the same as that of the transparent member 11. That is, the first cover member 16 has a comb-tooth-shaped protrusion 16c similar to the comb-tooth-shaped protrusion 11c. Note that descriptions of the transport surface 16a, the entrance surface 16b, the end surface 11d, the abutment surface 11e, the abutment surface 11h, etc., which correspond to the transport surface 11a, the entrance surface 11b, the end surface 11d, the abutment surface 11e, the abutment surface 11h, etc., will be omitted.

[0077] The through hole 17 includes a first through hole 17a and a second through hole 17b. The first through hole 17a is a hole on the transport path 3 side, and the second through hole 17b is a through hole located on the housing 7 side.

[0078] The shape of first through hole 17a in the XY plane is similar to the shape of transparent member 15 in the XY plane. Therefore, the width of first through hole 17a in the X-axis direction is similar to the width of transparent member 15 in the X-axis direction. Furthermore, the width of first through hole 17a in the Y-axis direction is similar to the width of transparent member 15 in the Y-axis direction.

[0079] The width in the X-axis direction of second through hole 17b is smaller than the width in the X-axis direction of transparent member 15. In addition, the width in the Y-axis direction of second through hole 17b is smaller than the width in the Y-axis direction of transparent member 15. Note that the width in the Y-axis direction of second through hole 17b may be the same as the width in the Y-axis direction of transparent member 15.

[0080] Furthermore, the center of first through hole 17a and the center of second through hole 17b overlap in the Z-axis direction. From these facts, it can be said that the size of through hole 17 changes in stages.

[0081] The depth in the Z-axis direction of first through hole 17a is approximately the same as the height in the Z-axis direction of transparent member 15. The depth in the Z-axis direction of first through hole 17a is preferably set to be greater than the height in the Z-axis direction of transparent member 15. In other words, the height in the Z-axis direction of transparent member 15 is preferably set to be smaller than the depth in the Z-axis direction of first through hole 17a.

[0082] In addition, since the through hole 17 is formed in the first cover member 16, the first cover member 16 has an abutment surface 16g that defines the first through hole 17a. The abutment surface 16g corresponds to the step between the first through hole 16a and the second through hole 16b, such as the abutment surface 12f, and includes an abutment surface 16f that is perpendicular to the Z-axis direction. When the width of the second through hole 16b in the Y-axis direction is the same as the width of the transparent member 15 in the Y-axis direction, only the abutment surface 16f extending in the Y-axis direction is formed in the first cover member 16.

[0083] In the second embodiment, the material and shape of the second cover member 18 are the same as those of the cover member 12. Therefore, the second cover member 15 has a comb-tooth-shaped recess 18c similar to the comb-tooth-shaped recess 12c. Note that descriptions of the transport surface 18a, the entrance surface 12b, the end surface 12d, the abutment surface 18e, the abutment surface 18f, the abutment surface 18h, the through hole 19, and the like, which correspond to the transport surface 12a, the entrance surface 12b, the end surface 12d, the abutment surface 18e, the abutment surface 18f, the abutment surface 12f, the through hole 13, and the like, will be omitted.

[0084] In the second embodiment, transparent member 15 is joined to first cover member 16 with an adhesive. Specifically, transparent member 15 is joined to first cover member 16 with an adhesive in through hole 17. More specifically, transparent member 15 is joined to first cover member 16 with an adhesive in first through hole 17a.

[0085] In this case, a part of incident surface 15b of transparent member 15, a pair of abutment surfaces in the X-axis direction of transparent member 15, and a pair of abutment surfaces in the Y-axis direction of transparent member 15 are joined to abutment surface 16f with an adhesive.

[0086] Therefore, the first cover member 16 has a through hole 17 into which the transparent member 15 is inserted, and an abutment surface 16f is formed on at least the side parallel to the Y-axis direction of the through hole 17 in the X-axis direction and the Y-axis direction, and it can be said that the end of the transparent member 15, specifically, a part of the entrance surface 15b and the abutment surface 16f are joined with an adhesive.

[0087] In the second embodiment, the first cover member 16 is joined to the second cover member 18 with an adhesive. Specifically, the first cover member 16 is joined to the second cover member 18 with an adhesive in the through hole 19. More specifically, the first cover member 16 is joined to the second cover member 18 with an adhesive in the first through hole 19a.

[0088] In this case, the comb-tooth-shaped protrusions 16c and the comb-tooth-shaped recesses 18c are bonded with an adhesive. Also, in this case, the contact surfaces 16h, 16e, the entrance surface 16b, etc. of the first cover member 16 are bonded with the contact surfaces 18e, 18h, 18f, etc. of the second cover member 18 with an adhesive, similarly to the first embodiment.

[0089] Therefore, the second cover member 18 has a through hole 19 into which the first cover member 16 is inserted, and an abutment surface 18f is formed on at least the side of the through hole 19 parallel to the Y-axis direction in the X-axis direction and the Y-axis direction, and it can be said that the end of the first cover member 16, specifically, a part of the incident surface 16b and the abutment surface 18f are joined with an adhesive.

[0090] In the second embodiment, comb-tooth-shaped protrusions 16c are formed on the sides parallel to the Y-axis direction on the outer periphery of the first cover member 16, and comb-tooth-shaped recesses 18c that receive the comb-tooth-shaped protrusions 16c are formed in the locations of the second cover member 18 that face the comb-tooth-shaped protrusions 16c, and it can be said that the comb-tooth-shaped protrusions 16c are bonded to the abutment portions of the comb-tooth-shaped recesses 18c with an adhesive. The abutment portions include abutment surfaces 18e, 18h, and 18f.

[0091] In the second embodiment, similarly to the first embodiment, even if a height difference occurs between the transport surface 16a of the first cover member 16 and the transport surface 18a of the second cover member 18, the occurrence of paper jams can be suppressed.

[0092] 4. Configuration of the optical line sensor member of the third embodiment The third embodiment is similar to each of the embodiments except that the configuration of the optical line sensor member 9 is changed. Descriptions that overlap with the first and second embodiments will be omitted.

[0093] In the third embodiment, the optical line sensor member 9 is configured as shown in Fig. 7. Fig. 7 is a cross-sectional view that shows an example of the configuration of the optical line sensor member 9 according to the third embodiment. Fig. 7 also shows a state in which a transparent member 21 (described later) is separated in the Z-axis direction from a first cover member 22 (described later). Fig. 7 also shows a state in which the first cover member 22 is separated in the Z-axis direction from a second cover member 24 (described later).

[0094] The optical line sensor member 9 of the third embodiment is composed of a transparent member 21, a first cover member 22 provided around the transparent member 21, and a second cover member 24 provided around the first cover member 22.

[0095] The material and shape of the transparent member 21 are similar to those of the transparent member 15. The material of the first cover member 22 is similar to those of the first cover member 16. The material of the first cover member 22 may be similar to those of the transparent member 21.

[0096] Furthermore, except for some changes, the shape of the first cover member 22 is the same as that of the first cover member 16. Therefore, the description of the transport surface 22a, the incident surface 22b, the contact surface 22f, the contact surface 22g, the through hole 23, etc. will be omitted.

[0097] The first cover member 22 does not have any unevenness such as the comb-tooth-shaped protrusions 16c. The first cover member 22 has, on its outer periphery, a pair of abutment surfaces 22c in the X-axis direction and a pair of abutment surfaces (not shown) in the Y-axis direction, and a part or the whole of the pair of abutment surfaces 22c are formed as tapered surfaces 22i that taper toward the transport path 3.

[0098] In other words, it can be said that a tapered surface 22i is formed on a side parallel to the Y-axis direction on the outer periphery of the first cover member 22. The inclination angles of the tapered surfaces 22i on each contact surface 22c with respect to the transport surface 22a are the same.

[0099] For these reasons, in a cross section along the X-axis direction as shown in FIG. 7, the first cover member 22 has a substantially trapezoidal shape including a trapezoid in whole or in part of the cross section.

[0100] The material of the second cover member 24 is the same as that of the second cover member 18. Moreover, except for a portion of the shape of the second cover member 24, the shape is the same as that of the second cover member 18. Therefore, the description of the transport surface 24a, the incident surface 24b, etc. will be omitted.

[0101] The second cover member 24 does not have any unevenness such as the comb-tooth-shaped recesses 18c. Further, a through hole 25 is formed in the second cover member 24. Therefore, the second cover member 24 has a pair of abutment surfaces (not shown) that are arranged via the through hole 25 in the Y-axis direction, and a pair of abutment surfaces 24c that are arranged via the through hole 25 in the X-axis direction.

[0102] A part or the whole of the pair of contact surfaces 24c is formed of a tapered surface 24i that tapers toward the conveying path 3. The inclination angles of the tapered surface 24i of each contact surface 24c relative to the conveying surface 24a are the same. Furthermore, the inclination angle of the tapered surface 22i relative to the conveying surface 22a and the inclination angle of the tapered surface 24i relative to the conveying surface 24a are substantially the same.

[0103] That is, in a cross section taken along the X-axis direction as shown in FIG. 7, the second cover member 24 has a substantially trapezoidal shape including a trapezoid in all or part of the cross section.

[0104] In the third embodiment, the transparent member 21 is joined to the first cover member 22 with an adhesive, similar to the second embodiment.

[0105] In the third embodiment, the first cover member 22 is joined to the second cover member 24 with an adhesive. Specifically, the first cover member 22 is joined to the second cover member 24 in the through hole 25 with an adhesive.

[0106] In this case, the abutment surface 22c is bonded with an adhesive to the abutment surface 24c parallel to the abutment surface 22c. Also, in the first cover member 22, a pair of abutment surfaces (not shown) that do not define the through hole 23 in the Y-axis direction is bonded with an abutment surface (not shown) that pairs with the through hole 25 in the Y-axis direction by an adhesive.

[0107] From these facts, it can be said that a tapered surface 22i is formed on the side parallel to the Y-axis direction on the outer periphery of the first cover member 22, and a tapered surface 24i parallel to the tapered surface 22i is formed at the portion of the second cover member 24 facing the tapered surface 22i of the first cover member 22, and the tapered surface 22i of the first cover member 22 and the tapered surface 24i of the second cover member 24 are joined with an adhesive.

[0108] In addition, in a state in which the transparent member 21 is bonded to the first cover member 22 with an adhesive and the first cover member 22 is bonded to the second cover member 24, at least the conveying surface 22a and the conveying surface 24a are flush with each other.

[0109] 5. Manufacturing method of optical line sensor components Next, an example of a manufacturing method of the optical line sensor member 9 in the third embodiment will be described with reference to Fig. 8 and Fig. 9. Fig. 8 is a cross-sectional view that shows an example of a state in which the first cover member 22 is pressed. Fig. 9 is a cross-sectional view that shows another example of a state in which the first cover member 22 is pressed.

[0110] First, prepare the transparent member 21, the first cover member 22, the second cover member 24, the flat plate 26, and the pressing member 27. The flat plate 26 is a rigid plate, and the material and composition of the plate are not particularly limited. The same applies to the pressing member 27.

[0111] From the viewpoint of the linear expansion coefficient, it is assumed that the transparent member 21, the first cover member 22, and the second cover member 24 have warping.

[0112] 8, the first cover member 22 with the transparent member 21 disposed in the first through-hole 23a is placed on the flat plate 26. At this time, the conveying surface 22a and the conveying surface 21a abut against the flat plate 26. In addition, an adhesive is applied in advance to the abutting surface 22f, etc.

[0113] 8, the pressing member 27 is placed on the incident surface 22b of the first cover member 22. The pressing member 27 is used to press the first cover member 22 in a direction (pressing direction) P1 toward the flat plate 26, thereby bonding the first cover member 22 and the transparent member 21 together.

[0114] When the first cover member 22 is pressed using the pressing member 27, a force in a pressing direction P1 is applied from the outside to the pressing member 27. The first cover member 22 may also be pressed using the weight of the pressing member 27. However, in this case, this is limited to the case where the direction of gravity and the pressing direction P1 coincide with each other.

[0115] Furthermore, the force in the pressing direction P1 is stronger than the stress, specifically, the tensile stress and / or the compressive stress, in the transparent member 21 and the first cover member 22, etc. Therefore, as shown in Fig. 8, when the force in the pressing direction P1 acts on the first cover member 22, the warping of the first cover member 22 is improved. At this time, the force in the pressing direction P1 also acts on the transparent member 21 due to the abutment surface 22f. When the force in the pressing direction P1 acts on the first cover member 22, the warping of the transparent member 21 is also improved.

[0116] After the first cover member 22 and the transparent member 21 are bonded, the second cover member 24 is placed on the flat plate 26, as shown in Fig. 9. At this time, the transport surface 24a comes into contact with the flat plate 26.

[0117] After the second cover member 24 is placed on the flat plate 26, the first cover member 22 is placed in the through hole 25 of the second cover member 24. At this time, each abutment surface of the first cover member 22 faces each abutment surface of the opposing second cover member 24. Therefore, the abutment surface 22c faces the abutment surface 24c.

[0118] In addition, an adhesive is applied to each contact surface in advance. For example, an adhesive is applied to the contact surface 22c and / or the contact surface 24c.

[0119] 9, the pressing member 27 is placed on the incident surface 22b of the first cover member 22. The pressing member 27 is used to press the first cover member 22 in the pressing direction P1, so that the first cover member 22 and the second cover member 24 are bonded together.

[0120] As shown in FIG. 9, when a force in a pressing direction P1 acts on the first cover member 22, since each abutment surface 22c and each abutment surface 24c are in contact with each other, forces in the directions P2 and P3 act on the second cover member 24.

[0121] The force in the P2 direction is a force perpendicular to the flat plate 26, and this force presses each contact surface 24c of the second cover member 24 towards the flat plate 26. The force in the P3 direction is a force that tries to spread the second cover member 24 outward, and the second cover member 24 spreads outward. Therefore, when the first cover member 22 is bonded to the second cover member 24, the warping of the second cover member 12 is improved, and the conveying surfaces 21a, 22a, and 24a become flush with each other, as shown in FIG.

[0122] As described above, when the first cover member 22 and the second cover member 24 are bonded to each other using the flat plate 26 and the pressing member 27, the tapered surface 24i (each abutting surface 24c) of the second cover member 24 is straightened according to the tapered surface 22i (each abutting surface 22c) of the first cover member 22, so that the difference in the warp straightening between the two members can be minimized when they are joined. This makes it possible to eliminate steps in the first cover member 22 and the second cover member 24. In other words, the occurrence of paper jams can be suppressed.

[0123] Furthermore, if the first cover member 22 is transparent and is bonded to the second cover member 24 with an ultraviolet light curing adhesive, an external ultraviolet light source (external ultraviolet light source) is used to irradiate the first cover member 22 and the second cover member 24 with ultraviolet light, as shown in Fig. 10. Fig. 10 is a cross-sectional view that shows a schematic example of a state in which the adhesive is cured.

[0124] However, this curing method may result in curing of the adhesive that has seeped out onto the transport surface 22a and the transport surface 24a. Furthermore, curing the adhesive that has seeped out onto the transport surface sides may result in various inconveniences.

[0125] Therefore, when the first cover member 22 is bonded to the second cover member 24 with an ultraviolet light curing adhesive, the pressing member 27 and the second cover member 24 are used as ultraviolet light shields. In this case, the size of the surface of the pressing member 27 that abuts against the incident surface 22b is set to be the same as the size of the transport surface 22a. In this case, the entire transport surface 22a overlaps with the pressing member 27 when viewed from the Z-axis direction.

[0126] When the ultraviolet light curing adhesive is cured, the first cover member 22 and the second cover member 24 are irradiated with ultraviolet light while the first cover member 22 and the second cover member 24 are in close contact with each other, as shown in Fig. 10. At this time, the external ultraviolet light source is disposed at a position facing the transparent member 21 via the pressing member 27, and the ultraviolet light from the external ultraviolet light source is irradiated in the same direction as the pressing direction P1.

[0127] When the ultraviolet light is irradiated in the same direction as the pressing direction P1, a part of the ultraviolet light is blocked by the pressing member 27 and the second cover member 24, and the ultraviolet light is irradiated onto the tapered surface 22i of the first cover member 22 and the tapered surface 24i of the second cover member 24. Therefore, the adhesive interposed between each abutment surface 22c and each abutment surface 24c is cured due to the ultraviolet light.

[0128] In this case, the ultraviolet light is not irradiated onto the adhesive seeping out onto each conveying surface side because the second cover member 24 and the pressing member 27 block part of the ultraviolet light. Any uncured adhesive is removed by cleaning after the first cover member 22 and the second cover member 24 are joined together. Furthermore, instead of the flat plate 26, a rigid flat surface may be used.

[0129] In the third embodiment, the first cover member 22 is substantially trapezoidal in the cross section along the X-axis direction, including a trapezoid in all or part of the cross section. However, such a configuration can also be adopted for the transparent member 21. That is, the transparent member 21 may be substantially trapezoidal in the cross section cut along the direction perpendicular to the main scanning direction, with the side on the transport path 3 side being the short side, and may have a tapered surface with an inclination on the side parallel to the main scanning direction. In this case, the first cover member 22 may have a tapered surface formed substantially parallel to the tapered surface provided on the side of the transparent member 21 parallel to the main scanning direction. Then, the tapered surface of the transparent member 21 and the tapered surface of the first cover member 22 may be joined with an adhesive in the same procedure as in the case of bonding the first cover member 22 and the second cover member 24 described above.
