Description

[Technical field]

[0001] The present invention relates to a hair conditioning composition containing a conditioning ingredient that conditions hair to a healthy state, and a method for producing the same. [Background technology]

[0002] In general, hair conditioning compositions such as hair conditioners, hair rinses, and hair treatments contain conditioning ingredients to reduce the squeaky feeling during or after washing hair with shampoo or to repair hair damage caused by various factors, and many of them are prepared in a gel-like form by dispersing and stabilizing an oily component in 70% by mass or more of an aqueous component.

[0003] In the field of cosmetic preparations, a gel-like hair conditioning composition is well known, which is prepared by mixing and stirring a cationic surfactant and a higher alcohol in a suitable proportion using water as a solvent, to form a gel network in which solid hydrated crystals such as lamellar liquid crystals are saturated with water.

[0004] A gel-network hair conditioning composition reduces its viscosity relatively slowly when applied to wet hair after shampooing, or even when diluted with water during subsequent rinsing, and the active ingredient adhered to the hair is less likely to be washed away, allowing for a longer contact time between the active ingredient and the hair, thereby enabling the conditioning ingredient to be efficiently applied to the hair.

[0005] Patent Document 1 describes a method for obtaining a hair conditioning composition by adding a cationic surfactant and a higher alcohol to water with stirring, dissolving them uniformly at about 80°C, cooling to about 55°C, adding a silicone compound, a preservative, and a fragrance with stirring and homogenizing them, and then cooling to room temperature.

[0006] Patent Document 2 also describes a method in which an oil phase containing a cationic surfactant and a higher alcohol and an aqueous phase are heated separately, and the resulting homogeneously dissolved premix is simultaneously fed into an in-line high-shear homogenizer and mixed to produce a personal care composition such as a hair conditioner.

[0007] For concentrated hair conditioners that consumers dilute with water when using, techniques have been reported to keep the water content low. For example, Patent Document 3 describes a method for producing a high-concentration solid, powder, granule, or paste-like hair conditioner that is 10 times concentrated using a polyol instead of water and has a low water content.

[0008] Patent Document 4 describes products such as hair care compositions in which discrete particles containing beneficial ingredients are dispersed in an aqueous base composition that includes a surfactant, a high melting point fatty compound, and an aqueous carrier.

[0009] Furthermore, in Patent Document 5, a prior application filed by the applicant of the present application, a high-concentration hair conditioning composition that mainly uses a long-chain alkyl type quaternary ammonium salt is investigated. [Prior art documents] [Patent documents]

[0010] [Patent Document 1] JP 2010-195833 A [Patent Document 2] Special Publication No. 2012-511038 [Patent Document 3] International Publication No. 2010 / 090219 [Patent Document 4] Special Publication No. 2019-536777 [Patent Document 5] Patent application No. 2022-74130 Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]

[0011] However, the hair conditioning compositions described in Patent Documents 1 and 2 contain a backbone component consisting of a cationic surfactant and a higher alcohol at a concentration commonly used by a general manufacturing method.

[0012] Furthermore, the hair conditioning composition described in Patent Document 3 uses a polyhydric alcohol or polyethylene glycol instead of water, but the formulation is in the form of a powder or solid rather than a gel.

[0013] The mixture of the discrete particles described in Patent Document 4 before dispersion in an aqueous carrier corresponds to the base of the product, but since liquid crystals are not formed in such a non-aqueous mixture, a lamellar gel network is not established in the base of the product.

[0014] Patent Document 5 is a prior application by the same applicant that was not published at the time of filing the present application, and claim 1 of that patent describes "a hair conditioning composition comprising a mixture (A) of a linear higher alcohol having 16 or more carbon atoms and a cationic surfactant in a molar ratio of 2:1 to 5:1, and an aqueous component (B) in a mass ratio of 1:6 to 1:3."

[0015] Claim 2 of the above-mentioned prior application describes a hair conditioning composition that defines a long-chain alkyl type quaternary ammonium salt, which is a subordinate concept of a cationic surfactant.

[0016] However, the claims of the prior application do not state an invention limited to tertiary cationic surfactants, which are a subordinate concept of cationic surfactants, or to long-chain alkyl tertiary amines, which are a subordinate concept of cationic surfactants, and only a partial explanation is given in the specification. In other words, the claims of the prior application do not state the acid components required when using long-chain alkyl tertiary amines, or the blending ratios thereof.

[0017] In addition, it was newly discovered that, in the prior invention, when a long-chain alkyl tertiary amine is used, it becomes necessary to incorporate a large amount exceeding the numerical range of "content 4 to 13 mass%" indicated in the specification of the prior invention (paragraph

[0062] ). In addition, the hair conditioning composition of the embodiment obtained in the prior invention is an opaque cream, and is not obtained as a translucent composition as in the present invention.

[0018] Therefore, in addition to solving the same problems as those of the prior application, an object of the present invention is to provide a hair conditioning composition, particularly one containing a long-chain alkyl tertiary amine as an essential component, which has a viscosity that makes it easy to apply to hair and easily blends with it, and which can efficiently impart a conditioning component to hair regardless of the moisture content. [Means for solving the problem]

[0019] In order to solve the above problems, the present invention provides a hair conditioning composition containing a mixture (A) of a linear higher alcohol having 16 or more carbon atoms and a long-chain alkyl tertiary amine in a molar ratio of 2:1 to 5:1, water (B), and an acid (C), in which (A) accounts for 17 to 35 mass% of 100 mass% of the hair conditioning composition, and the mass ratio of (A):(B)+(C) is 1:2 to 1:4.

[0020] Such a hair conditioning composition has a mass ratio of mixture (A), water (B) and acid (C) of 1:2 to 1:4, and therefore can form a three-dimensional network in which lamellar structures are arranged in a hexagonal crystal structure when cooled after being uniformly dissolved in the production process.

[0021] The hair conditioning composition of the present invention having the above-mentioned composition can be easily applied to hair even with a small water content by adjusting the ratio of water and acid to the total amount of the long-chain alkyl tertiary amine and higher alcohol, which are the skeleton components, to a predetermined blend ratio.

[0022] That is, in this invention, by specifying the composition of mixture (A) and the mass ratio of water (B) and acid (C) to mixture (A), a gel having appropriate rheology for application to hair and having lamellar lamellae and a three-dimensional network structure thereof that is not too dense is produced.

[0023] By providing such a three-dimensional network, a large amount of moisture can be absorbed into the layered lamellar structure, resulting in a hair conditioning composition that does not experience an extreme decrease in viscosity when diluted with water or the like.

[0024] The long-chain alkyl tertiary amine is preferably one or more long-chain alkyl tertiary amines selected from stearamidopropyl dimethylamine and behenamidopropyl dimethylamine, in order to fully exert the above-mentioned effect.

[0025] The linear higher alcohol having 16 or more carbon atoms is preferably one or more selected from cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, and behenyl alcohol.

[0026] The acid (C) used in the present invention is preferably one or more selected from citric acid, lactic acid, and L-glutamic acid, in order to fully exert the above-mentioned effects. The molar ratio of the long-chain alkyl tertiary amine to the acid (C) is preferably 1:0.8 to 1:1.5 in order to fully exert the above-mentioned effects.

[0027] Whereas conventional hair conditioners are opaque creams, the hair conditioning composition of the present invention is obtained as a unique translucent gel composition.

[0028] In this invention, "semi-transparent" refers to a transparent state in which the transmittance measured by an absorptiometer is 50% or more. For example, a BioTek Hybrid Multimode Reader CYTATION5 can be used as the absorptiometer. The transmittance is calculated by subtracting the absorbance at a wavelength of 660 nm measured by this from 1 and converting the result into a percentage.

[0029] The manufacturing equipment used when the mixture (A), water (B), and acid (C) are mixed to obtain the composition is not particularly limited, and may be a roller mixer, a vacuum emulsifying kettle, or the like. However, it is preferable to use a three-shaft planetary stirrer for stirring and mixing so that the higher alcohol and the long-chain alkyl tertiary amine can be efficiently and uniformly stirred in a heated and dissolved state. A three-shaft planetary motion mixer is a type of mixer that performs planetary motion in which the mixing blades rotate while revolving around their axis. Originally, it was often used to mix powders uniformly into high-viscosity products. Effect of the Invention

[0030] In this invention, the ratio of water and acid to the total amount of the long-chain alkyl tertiary amine and higher alcohol, which are essential components of the hair conditioning composition, is set to a predetermined small blend ratio, so that even a hair conditioning composition containing a long-chain alkyl tertiary amine as an essential component has a viscosity that makes it easy to apply to hair and easily blends into hair, and can efficiently impart conditioning ingredients to hair regardless of the amount of moisture.Furthermore, it is possible to make the composition translucent, and the composition can be prepared into a formulation with high practicality that satisfies consumers. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0031] The hair conditioning composition according to an embodiment of the present invention is a gel comprising a hair conditioning composition in which the ratio of "mixture (A)" containing a linear higher alcohol having 16 or more carbon atoms and a long-chain alkyl tertiary amine in a molar ratio of 2:1 to 5:1 to "the sum of water (B) and acid (C)" is a predetermined ratio.

[0032] The linear higher alcohol having 16 or more carbon atoms used in this invention may be any well-known alcohol used in cosmetics, medicines, etc., such as cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, arachidyl alcohol, behenyl alcohol, etc. Preferred are cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, and behenyl alcohol. More preferred are cetyl alcohol and stearyl alcohol. Note that linear alcohols having more than 22 carbon atoms have a high melting point, and therefore may be difficult to use due to poor solubility.

[0033] The amount of the linear higher alcohol in this hair conditioning composition is 17 to 35 mass % of mixture (A) in 100 mass % of the hair conditioning composition, which is about twice as much as that in general hair conditioning compositions or more. Nevertheless, the composition has the required softness for easy application to hair, resulting in a formulation that provides high consumer satisfaction. The long-chain alkyl tertiary amine is represented by the following general formula 1.

[0034] [ka] (In the formula, one of R1, R2, and R3 is selected from an alkyl group or a hydroxyalkyl group having 8 to 30 carbon atoms, an aryl group, or an alkylaryl group, and the remaining R1, R2, and R3 are independently selected from an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, an alkoxy group having up to 4 carbon atoms, a polyoxyalkylene group, an alkylamide group, a hydroxyalkyl group, an aryl group, or an alkylaryl group.)

[0035] A representative example of the long-chain alkyl tertiary amine represented by the formula 1 is a tertiary amidoamine having an alkyl group with 12 to 22 carbon atoms.

[0036] Representative long-chain alkyl tertiary amines include stearamidopropyl dimethylamine, stearamidopropyl diethylamine, stearamidoethyl diethylamine, stearamidoethyl dimethylamine, behenamidopropyl dimethylamine, behenamidopropyl diethylamine, behenamidoethyl diethylamine, behenamidoethyl dimethylamine, and the like.

[0037] Preferably, stearamidopropyl dimethylamine, behenamidopropyl dimethylamine, and more preferably stearamidopropyl dimethylamine are used as the long-chain alkyl tertiary amine.

[0038] The acid (C) of the present invention is used to neutralize a long-chain alkyl tertiary amine, and this neutralization causes the tertiary amine to be quaternized, with the resulting long-chain alkyl quaternary amine acting as a cationic surfactant.

[0039] Specific examples of the acid (C) include citric acid, lactic acid, L-glutamic acid, hydrochloric acid, malic acid, succinic acid, acetic acid, fumaric acid, and tartaric acid, and among these, it is preferable to use citric acid, lactic acid, and L-glutamic acid.

[0040] The molar ratio of the long-chain alkyl tertiary amine to the acid is preferably 1:0.8 to 1:1.5. More preferably, it is 1:1 to 1:1.2. If the molar ratio is less than 1:0.8, there is a concern that the quaternization of the tertiary amine may be incomplete, and if it exceeds 1:1.5, the pH of the product becomes too acidic, and should be avoided in consideration of the effect on the scalp and facial mucous membranes.

[0041] The molar ratio of the linear higher alcohol having 16 or more carbon atoms to the long-chain alkyl tertiary amine in the mixture (A) is in the range of 2:1 to 5:1, for example 2:1 to 5:1, preferably 2:1 to 4:1, more preferably 2:1 to 3:1. These ratios are optimal for forming a gel network or are suitable ratios equivalent thereto.

[0042] The water (B) used in the present invention may be any hygienic water that can be used as an ingredient in cosmetics, and for example, purified water, hot spring water, deep sea water, and ground water can be used as water (B).

[0058] The hair conditioning compositions of the Examples and Comparative Examples were prepared in the blending ratios shown in Table 1 below, and evaluated for ease of application to hair.

[0059] [Examples 1 to 6, Comparative Examples 1 to 4] A mixture (A) containing a long-chain alkyl tertiary amine and a linear higher alcohol having 16 or more carbon atoms was placed in a three-shaft planetary stirrer, heated to 72°C to dissolve and homogenize the mixture by stirring. A three-shaft planetary stirrer (PRIMIX Corporation's Hivis Dispermix (registered trademark)) was used for the preparation.

[0060] To this "mixture (A)" was added "water (B) + acid (C)" and the mixture was stirred under reduced pressure of 0.06 to 0.08 MPa until the temperature of the mixture was 60°C or lower, and a preservative, conditioning ingredient, and fragrance were added to prepare a hair conditioning composition. The prepared hair conditioning composition was evaluated using the following evaluation methods, and the results are summarized in Tables 1 and 2.

[0061] [Comparative Example 5] A mixture (A) was prepared in exactly the same manner as in Example 1, except that a long-chain alkyl quaternary amine was used instead of the long-chain alkyl tertiary amine and dissolved by heating to 82°C. Furthermore, a hair conditioning composition of Comparative Example 5 was prepared in exactly the same manner as in Example 1, except that "water (B)" was added to "mixture (A)" without adding "acid (C)".

[0062] The viscosity (flow rheology maximum value [Pascal]) of the obtained hair conditioning compositions of Examples 1 to 6 and Comparative Examples 1 to 4 was measured using a Discovery Hybrid rheometer manufactured by TA Instruments, and the ease of application to hair was evaluated into the following three stages. The results of these measurements or evaluations are shown in Table 1 as numerical values or symbols.

[0063] [Evaluation] [Judgment] Very easy to apply texture to hair: ◎ The texture is a little soft or hard, but there is no problem applying it to hair: ○ The texture is too soft or too hard, making it difficult to apply to hair: ×

[0064] (Evaluation method: appearance check) The properties of the hair conditioning compositions prepared by the above method were visually confirmed. The properties were evaluated as either "semi-transparent gel-like" or "opaque cream-like", or "solid matter precipitated", and "semi-transparent gel-like" was indicated with the symbol * in Tables 1 and 2. In addition, when the product was in gel or cream-like form, the transmittance was measured using an absorbance meter.

[0065] [Table 1]

[0066] [Table 2]

[0067] As is clear from the results in Table 1, when the blending ratio of A:B+C was within the range of 1:2 to 1:4, a preparation that was easy to apply to hair was obtained.

[0068] In addition, to compare transparency, Example 1 was compared with Comparative Example 5, which was prepared from a quaternary cationic surfactant and a higher alcohol as an example of a conventionally known hair conditioning composition, as shown in Table 2. Comparative Example 5 exhibited a white to slightly yellowish opaque cream-like appearance, and the transmittance of light with a wavelength of 660 nm was 21% as measured with an absorptiometer.

[0069] In contrast, the hair conditioning composition of Example 1, which contained a long-chain alkyl tertiary amine and a neutralized product of lactic acid, was a translucent gel when viewed with the naked eye, and showed a transmittance of 76%, which was extremely high compared to Comparative Example 5, when measured with an absorbance meter.

[0070] [Example 7] A high conditioning treatment for damage care was produced using the formulation shown in Table 3 and the following steps A to D.

[0071] A: Components 1 to 3 were dissolved and stirred at 72°C using a three-shaft planetary stirrer. B: Components 4 and 9 were added to A, and the mixture was stirred under reduced pressure of 0.06 to 0.08 MPa and cooled to a temperature of 55°C or lower. C: After cooling to 55°C, the remaining ingredients were added and stirred uniformly, and then cooled to 32°C.

[0072] [Table 3]

[0073] [Example 8] A volume-up conditioner was produced using the formulation shown in Table 4 by the following steps A to D.

[0074] A: Components 1 to 3 were dissolved and stirred at 72°C using a three-shaft planetary stirrer. B: Components 4 and 8 were added to A, and the mixture was stirred under reduced pressure of 0.06 to 0.08 MPa and cooled to a temperature of 55°C or lower. C: After cooling to 55°C, the remaining ingredients were added and stirred uniformly, and then cooled to 32°C.

[0075] [Table 4]

[0076] [Example 9] A conditioner for preventing UV damage was produced using the formulation shown in Table 5 through the following steps A to D.

[0077] A: Components 1 to 3 were dissolved and stirred at 72°C using a three-shaft planetary stirrer. B: Components 4 and 10 were added to A, and the mixture was stirred under reduced pressure of 0.06 to 0.08 MPa and cooled to a temperature of 55°C or lower. C: After cooling to 55°C, the remaining ingredients were added and stirred uniformly, and then cooled to 32°C.

[0078] [Table 5]

[0079] The conditioning treatments or conditioners of Examples 7 to 9 described above, like Examples 1 to 6, were viscous, translucent gels that were easy to apply to hair and blend well, and were capable of efficiently delivering conditioning ingredients to hair.
