Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] The present disclosure relates to a rocker arm. [Background technology]
[0002] Conventionally, the technology described in Patent Document 1 is known as an internal combustion engine equipped with a rocker arm. Patent Document 1 describes that a cylinder head of an internal combustion engine is provided with valves for opening and closing intake ports and exhaust ports, and a pivot (lash adjuster) inserted into a concave mounting chamber. An end of a rod-shaped valve stem provided on the valve abuts against one end of the rocker arm. An end of the pivot abuts against the other end of the rocker arm. When a rocker arm in contact with the cam swings around the end of the pivot as a fulcrum with the rotation of a cam provided on a camshaft, the valve stem moves back and forth to open and close the valve. [Prior art documents] [Patent documents]
[0003] [Patent Document 1] Patent Publication No. 2021-32192 Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]
[0004] However, in the configuration disclosed in Patent Document 1, in the case of an internal combustion engine such as a slant engine or a horizontally opposed engine in which the direction of reciprocating movement of the valve stem is inclined from the vertical direction or is horizontal, when the rocker arm is attached to the end of the valve stem or the end of a pivot that is inserted in a similar manner at an incline with respect to the cylinder head, there is a possibility that the rocker arm will fall off from such an end.
[0005] The present disclosure is a technology completed based on the above circumstances, and has an object to provide a rocker arm that is less likely to fall off when attached. [Means for solving the problem]
[0006] The present disclosure relates to a rocker arm comprising: a roller that abuts against a rotating cam; a first abutment portion that abuts against a valve provided in a cylinder head; a second abutment portion that is disposed on the opposite side of the roller from the first abutment portion and abuts against a pivot provided in the cylinder head; and a cut annular body that is a part of a ring body that has been cut off and is attached to the second abutment portion, wherein the first abutment portion oscillates with the second abutment portion as a fulcrum due to rotation of the cam, the second abutment portion comprising: a recess against which a tip end of the pivot abuts; and a first mounting portion that is provided at an end of the recess and to which the cut annular body is attached, wherein the cut annular body elastically deforms when attached to the first mounting portion, thereby allowing the tip end of the pivot to be inserted inside thereof.
[0007] According to such a rocker arm, the cut annular body attached to the first attachment part in the attached state can hold the tip of the pivot inserted inside it to some extent by elastic deformation, while the tip of the pivot can be abutted against the inside of the recess, so that it is possible to prevent the rocker arm from falling off when the rocker arm is attached to the pivot or valve by abutting it. Also, for example, by bringing the tip of the pivot close to the inside of the cut annular body so as to press it against the inside of the cut annular body while the cut annular body is attached to the first attachment part, the tip of the pivot can elastically spread the cut annular body and insert it into the inside of the cut annular body. This allows the rocker arm to be smoothly attached to the pivot.
[0008] In the above configuration, the first mounting portion may have a slope that is inclined in a direction approaching the pivot as it moves away from the inner side of the recess, and the cut annular body may have an outer side hooked onto the slope in the mounted state.
[0009] With such a rocker arm, the cut annular body can be attached to the first attachment part well. For example, it is possible to prevent the pivot inserted inside the cut annular body from moving away from the recess together with the cut annular body, causing the rocker arm to fall off.
[0010] In the above configuration, the cut annular body may be configured to be fitted into a groove provided at the tip of the pivot and to elastically return to its original state when the tip of the pivot is inserted inside the cut annular body. With this rocker arm, the cut annular body can increase the force with which it holds the tip of the pivot, thereby further preventing the rocker arm from falling off.
[0011] In the above configuration, the second abutment portion may include a second mounting portion and a third mounting portion that are located on the opposite side of the recess from the first mounting portion and between the recess and the roller, and the cut annular body may include, in the mounted state, a plurality of abutment portions abutting the first mounting portion, the second mounting portion, and the third mounting portion, and a non-abutment portion that is not abutting the second abutment portion.
[0012] With such a rocker arm, the cut annular body can be attached to the second abutment part at least at three points, that is, the first attachment part, the second attachment part, and the third attachment part, and the cut annular body can be easily elastically deformed at the non-abutment part, so that the rocker arm can be attached to the pivot more smoothly.
[0013] In the above configuration, the first abutment portion includes a valve abutment portion that abuts against the valve, and a guide portion that steps down from the valve abutment portion at a predetermined height and is positioned to the side of the valve, and when the tip of the pivot is inserted into the inside of the cut annular body in the attached state, the distance by which the first abutment portion is displaced in the axial direction of the valve with the second abutment portion as a fulcrum is defined as a displacement distance, the predetermined height of the guide portion may be greater than the displacement distance.
[0014] With such a rocker arm, the guide portion at the first contact portion is less likely to climb over the valve, and the rocker arm can be further prevented from falling off the valve or the pivot. Note that the above-mentioned displacement distance is appropriately changed depending on the distance between the first attachment portion and the tip end of the pivot, the size of the tip end of the pivot, the size of the cut annular body, etc.
[0015] In the above configuration, when the tip of the pivot is inserted inside the cut annular body, it fits into a groove provided at the tip and elastically returns to its original state, and the first abutment portion includes a valve abutment portion that abuts against the valve, and a guide portion that descends from the valve abutment portion at a predetermined height and is positioned to the side of the valve, and when the tip of the pivot is inserted inside the cut annular body in the attached state, the distance by which the first abutment portion displaces in the axial direction of the valve with the second abutment portion as a fulcrum is defined as a displacement distance, and the predetermined height of the guide portion may be greater than the sum of the displacement distance and the length of the groove portion in the axial direction of the pivot.
[0016] According to such a rocker arm, it becomes more difficult for the guide portion to climb over the valve at the first contact portion, and it is possible to further prevent the rocker arm from falling off the valve or the pivot. Effect of the Invention
[0017] According to the present disclosure, it is possible to provide a rocker arm that is less likely to fall off when attached. [Brief description of the drawings]

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
[0019] <Embodiment> An embodiment of the present disclosure will be described with reference to Figs. 1 to 6. In this embodiment, a rocker arm 10 and a support structure 100 thereof used in an internal combustion engine 1 will be described. As shown in Fig. 1, the internal combustion engine 1 is a slant engine that is attached to a vehicle with the entire engine inclined at an angle θ with respect to the horizontal direction (the direction indicated by the dashed line H). The internal combustion engine 1 includes a cylinder head 2 provided on the upper side of a cylinder block (not shown), and a support structure 100 for the rocker arm 10 located above the cylinder head 2. The support structure 100 includes a valve 20 that opens and closes an intake (or exhaust) port 2A of the cylinder head 2, a pivot 30 inserted into a recessed portion 2B of the cylinder head 2, and a rocker arm 10 that is supported by being attached to the valve 20 and the pivot 30.
[0020] The valve 20 comprises an umbrella-shaped valve umbrella portion 21 that abuts against the valve seat 2A1 of the port 2A, a rod-shaped valve stem 22 whose axial direction S1 extends obliquely from the valve umbrella portion 21 toward the outside of the cylinder head 2, and a valve spring 23 provided around the axis of the valve stem 22 on the outside of the cylinder head 2. In Fig. 1, the valve umbrella portion 21 and the valve stem 22 move diagonally back and forth by displacing (advancing) downward and to the left and displacing (retreating) upward and to the right, thereby opening and closing the port 2A. The pivot 30 is rod-shaped with the axial direction S2 extending obliquely from the recess 2B of the cylinder head 2 toward the outside of the cylinder head 2.
[0021] 2, the support structure 100 of the rocker arm 10 is drawn so that the axial direction S1 of the valve stem 22 and the axial direction S2 of the pivot 30 coincide with the vertical direction of the page. The rocker arm 10 includes a main body 11 formed by bending a metal plate by pressing, a roller 12 incorporated in the main body 11, and a cut annular body 13 attached to a second contact portion 18 described later.
[0022] The roller 12 is cylindrical with its height direction extending in the depth direction of the paper. An outer peripheral surface 12A of the roller 12 is a portion that contacts a cam 4 that rotates together with a camshaft 3 (see FIG. 1). The roller 12 is rotatably attached to a shaft portion 14 that is inserted through a main body portion 11 via a plurality of rollers (rolling elements) 15. The shaft portion 14 and the rollers 15 each have a cylindrical shape with its height direction extending in the depth direction of the paper. As shown in FIG. 1, the shaft portion 14 is fitted into a circular hole portion 11A that is formed through the main body portion 11 in the depth direction of the paper. As shown in FIG. 2, the plurality of rollers 15 are arranged in an annular shape between an outer peripheral surface 14A of the shaft portion 14 and an inner peripheral surface 12B of the roller 12.
[0023] The main body 11 has a first contact portion 16 arranged on one side (right side) and a second contact portion 18 arranged on the other side (left side) at a position opposite the first contact portion with respect to the roller 12. The first contact portion 16 contacts the tip portion 22A of the valve stem 22 from above. The second contact portion 18 contacts the tip portion 30A of the pivot 30 from above. The rocker arm 10 is configured such that the first contact portion 16 swings up and down (diagonally in FIG. 1 ) with the second contact portion 18 as a fulcrum as the roller 12 receives the rotation of the cam 4.
[0024] 5, the pivot 30 includes a cylindrical portion 31 housed in the recessed portion 2B of the cylinder head 2, and a tip portion 30A exposed to the outside from the recessed portion 2B of the cylinder head 2. The tip portion 30A includes a reduced diameter portion 32 whose diameter decreases from the cylindrical portion 31 toward the rocker arm 10 (upward), a groove portion 33 disposed above the reduced diameter portion 32 and having a smaller diameter than the reduced diameter portion 32, and a hemispherical protruding portion 34 disposed above the groove portion 33. The groove portion 33 has a smaller diameter than a lower end 34A of the protruding portion 34.
[0025] As shown in FIG. 2, the second abutment portion 18 includes a recess 40 having a shape of an upside-down bowl, a first attachment portion 42 provided at an end 41 of the recess 40 to which the cut annular body 13 is attached, and a tapered portion 17 provided between the recess 40 and the roller 12 at a position opposite to the first attachment portion 42 with respect to the recess 40. The recess 40 is shaped to cover the protrusion 34 at the tip 30A of the pivot 30, and its inner surface 40A abuts against the protrusion 34. As shown in FIG. 2 and FIG. 3, the first attachment portion 42 includes an inclined surface 42A that is inclined in a direction approaching the groove portion 33 of the pivot 30 (in a direction approaching the axis of the pivot 30) as it goes downward (as it moves away from the inner surface 40A of the recess 40). The recess 40 is formed into a hook-shaped shape in cross section by the end 41 and the first attachment portion 42.
[0026] As shown in Fig. 2, the tapered portion 17 has a first tapered portion 17A whose width in the vertical direction gradually narrows toward the first mounting portion 42 side, and a second tapered portion 17B whose width in the horizontal direction (vertical direction in Fig. 4) gradually widens (see Fig. 4) as shown in Fig. 4. The tapered portion 17 also has a second mounting portion 43 and a third mounting portion 44 to which the cut annular body 13 is attached. The second mounting portion 43 and the third mounting portion 44 each have an inner surface (surface on the recess 40 side) 43A, 44A that is a curved surface that is slightly recessed in a round shape. As shown in Fig. 2, the curved surface 43A extends in the vertical direction (similar to the curved surface 44A).
[0027] As shown in Fig. 4, the cut ring-shaped body 13 is formed by cutting a part of an elliptical ring-shaped body long in one direction at the ends 13A, 13A, and is configured to be elastically deformable. The material of the cut ring-shaped body 13 is not particularly limited, but various metals and alloys can be used, for example. The cut ring-shaped body 13 has a curved annular first abutment portion 51, an annular second abutment portion 52, and an annular third abutment portion 53, and two linear non-abutment portions 54, 54. The two non-abutment portions 54, 54 are provided between the annular first abutment portion 51 and the annular second abutment portion 52, and between the annular first abutment portion 51 and the annular third abutment portion 53, respectively.
[0028] The cut annular body 13 is attached to the inside (pivot 30 side) of the second abutment portion 18 by the annular first abutment portion 51, the annular second abutment portion 52, and the annular third abutment portion 53 abutting the first attachment portion 42, the second attachment portion 43, and the third attachment portion 44, respectively (this state is called the attached state). In the attached state, the outer side 13C (see FIG. 3) of the annular first abutment portion 51 is hooked on the inclined surface 42A of the first attachment portion 42 of the first attachment portion 42. In addition, in the attached state, the cut annular body 13 is biased in a direction in which the ends 13A, 13A are separated from each other, and the outer side of the annular second abutment portion 52 is pressed against the inner curved surface 43A of the second attachment portion 43, and the outer side of the annular third abutment portion 53 is pressed against the inner curved surface 44A of the third attachment portion 44. The cut annular body 13 can be attached, for example, by hooking the outer side 13C of the annular first abutment portion 51 onto the inclined surface 42A of the first mounting portion 42 from the inside of the second abutment portion 18, bringing the end portions 13A, 13A close to each other, abutting the outer side of the annular second abutment portion 52 against the inner curved surface 43A of the second mounting portion 43, and abutting the outer side of the annular third abutment portion 53 against the inner curved surface 44A of the third mounting portion 44.
[0029] In the mounted state in which the cut annular body 13 is mounted on the first mounting portion 42 or the like, the cut annular body 13 elastically deforms itself, thereby making it possible to insert the tip portion 30A of the pivot 30 into its inner side 13B (see FIG. 3). Specifically, as shown in FIG. 5, the convex portion 34 of the pivot 30 is pressed from below against the cut annular body 13 in the mounted state, whereby the two non-contact portions 54, 54 are elastically deformed so as to move away from each other. Then, when the two non-contact portions 54, 54 climb over the lower end 34A of the convex portion 34, as shown in FIG. 6, the cut annular body 13 elastically returns to its original state so that the two non-contact portions 54, 54 fit into the groove portion 33 provided in the tip portion 30A and the two non-contact portions 54, 54 approach each other. As a result, the tip portion 30A of the pivot 30 is inserted into the inner side 13B of the cut annular body 13 (this state is called an inserted state). In the inserted state, the distance D1 between the two non-contact portions 54, 54 of the cut annular body 13 is smaller than the outer diameter D2 of the lower end 34A of the convex portion 34. The distance D1 between the two non-contact portions 54, 54 may be larger than the outer diameter of the groove portion 33 (a configuration in which a small gap is generated between the non-contact portions 54, 54 and the groove portion 33).
[0030] As shown in Fig. 2, the first contact portion 16 includes a valve contact portion 60 that contacts the tip portion 22A of the valve stem 22, and a guide portion 61 that falls from the valve contact portion 60 at a predetermined height (falling height) D3 and is located to the side of the valve stem 22 (in the direction toward the rear of the page). When the tip portion 30A of the pivot 30 is inserted into the inside 13B of the cut annular body 13 in the attached state, the first contact portion 16 of the rocker arm 10 is displaced upward with the second contact portion 18 as a fulcrum. In Fig. 2, the valve contact portion 60 of the rocker arm 10 in which the first contact portion 16 is displaced upward is indicated by a two-dot chain line. At this time, when the distance by which the first contact portion 16 is displaced in the axial direction S1 of the valve stem 22 (for example, the distance by which the upper surface 60A of the valve contact portion 60 is displaced) is defined as a displacement distance D4, the falling height D3 of the guide portion 61 is greater than the displacement distance D4. Also, the falling height D3 of the guide portion 61 is greater than the sum of the displacement distance D4 and the length D5 of the groove portion 33 in the axial direction S2 of the pivot 30. As long as the rocker arm 10 is configured to satisfy such conditions, each value is not particularly limited, but for example, the shape of each component may be set so that the falling height D3 of the guide portion 61 is 5 mm, the displacement distance D4 is 2.5 mm, and the length D5 of the groove portion 33 is 1.5 mm. The displacement distance D4 is a distance that can be appropriately changed depending on the distance between the first mounting portion 42 and the tip portion 30A of the pivot 30 (reduced diameter portion 32 and groove portion 33) in the mounted state, the size of the tip portion 30A (convex portion 34) of the pivot 30, the size of the cut annular body 13, etc.
[0031] Next, the effects of this embodiment will be described. In this embodiment, the roller 12 that contacts the rotating cam 4, the first contact portion 16 that contacts the valve 20 provided in the cylinder head 2, the second contact portion 18 that is disposed at a position opposite to the first contact portion 16 with respect to the roller 12 and contacts the pivot 30 provided in the cylinder head 2, and the cut annular body 13 that is a part of an annular body cut and is attached to the second contact portion 18. The cut annular body 13 rotates with the second contact portion 18 as a fulcrum. The rocker arm 10 has a first abutment portion 16 that is configured to swing, and a second abutment portion 18 that is provided with a recess 40 with the tip portion 30A of the pivot 30 abutting against its inner side 40A, and a first mounting portion 42 that is provided at an end 41 of the recess 40 and to which the cut annular body 13 is attached, and in a mounted state in which the cut annular body 13 is attached to the first mounting portion 42, the cut annular body 13 elastically deforms itself, thereby allowing the tip portion 30A of the pivot 30 to be inserted into its inner side 13B.
[0032] According to such a rocker arm 10, the cut annular body 13 attached to the first attachment portion 42 in the attached state can hold the tip portion 30A of the pivot 30 inserted into its inner side 13B to some extent by elastic deformation, while the tip portion 30A of the pivot 30 can be abutted against the inner side 40A of the recess 40, so that it is possible to suppress the rocker arm 10 from falling off when the rocker arm 10 is attached to the pivot 30 or the valve 20 and before the cam 4 is abutted against the roller 12. Also, for example, by bringing the tip portion 30A of the pivot 30 close to the inner side 13B of the cut annular body 13 so as to press it against the inner side 13B of the cut annular body 13 while the cut annular body 13 is attached to the first attachment portion 42, the tip portion 30A of the pivot 30 can be elastically expanded to insert the cut annular body 13 into the inner side 13B. This allows the rocker arm 10 to be smoothly attached to the pivot 30.
[0033] The first mounting portion 42 has a slope 42A that is inclined toward the pivot 30 as it moves away from the inner side 40A of the recess 40, and the outer side 13C of the cut annular body 13 is hooked onto the slope 42A in the mounted state.
[0034] According to such a rocker arm 10, the cut annular body 13 can be successfully attached to the first attachment portion 42. For example, it is possible to prevent the pivot 30 inserted inside the cut annular body 13 from moving away from the recess 40 together with the cut annular body 13, causing the rocker arm 10 to fall off.
[0035] The cut annular body 13 is configured so that, when the tip portion 30A of the pivot 30 is inserted into the inside 13B thereof, it fits into a groove portion 33 provided in the tip portion 30A and elastically returns to its original state. According to such a rocker arm 10, the cut annular body 13 increases the force with which it holds the tip portion 30A of the pivot 30, and the rocker arm 10 can be further prevented from falling off.
[0036] The second abutment portion 18 comprises a second mounting portion 43 and a third mounting portion 44, which are located on the opposite side of the recess 40 from the first mounting portion 42 and between the recess 40 and the roller 12, and the cut annular body 13, in the mounted state, comprises a plurality of abutment portions 51, 52, 53 abutting against the first mounting portion 42, the second mounting portion 43, and the third mounting portion 44, and non-abutment portions 54, 54 which do not abut against the second abutment portion 18.
[0037] According to such a rocker arm 10, the cut annular body 13 can be attached to the second contact portion 18 well at least at three points, i.e., the first attachment portion 42, the second attachment portion 43, and the third attachment portion 44. In addition, the cut annular body 13 can be easily elastically deformed at the non-contact portions 54, 54, so that the rocker arm 10 can be attached to the pivot 30 more smoothly.
[0038] The first abutment portion 16 comprises a valve abutment portion 60 that abuts against the valve 20, and a guide portion 61 that descends from the valve abutment portion 60 at a predetermined height D3 and is positioned to the side of the valve 20. When the tip portion 30A of the pivot 30 is inserted into the inner side 13B of the cut annular body 13 in the installed state, if the distance by which the first abutment portion 16 is displaced in the axial direction S1 of the valve 20 with the second abutment portion 18 as a fulcrum is defined as a displacement distance D4, the predetermined height D3 of the guide portion 61 is greater than the displacement distance D4.
[0039] According to such a rocker arm 10, it is difficult for the guide portion 61 to climb over the valve 20 at the first contact portion 16, so that the rocker arm 10 can be further prevented from falling off the valve 20 or the pivot 30.
[0040] Moreover, the predetermined height D3 of the guide portion 61 is greater than the sum of the displacement distance D4 and the length D5 of the groove portion 33 in the axial direction S2 of the pivot 30. According to such a rocker arm 10, it becomes more difficult for the guide portion 61 to climb over the valve 20 at the first contact portion 16, and it is possible to further prevent the rocker arm 10 from falling off the valve 20 or the pivot 30.
[0041] <Other embodiments> The present disclosure is not limited to the embodiments described above and in the drawings, and for example, the following embodiments are also included within the technical scope of the present disclosure. Furthermore, in addition to the embodiments described below, various modifications can be made without departing from the spirit of the present disclosure.
[0042] (1) In the above embodiment, a slant engine is exemplified as an internal combustion engine, but the present disclosure is not limited thereto. For example, the internal combustion engine may be a horizontally opposed engine or other engines. The rocker arm of the present disclosure may also be applied to an engine in which the valve stem and pivot are not inclined and the axial direction of these is oriented vertically.
[0043] (2) In addition to the above embodiment, the configuration of the mounting portion can be modified as appropriate. For example, the first mounting portion may be a groove-shaped portion provided on the inside of the end of the recess so as to follow the outer diameter of the cut annular body. Furthermore, the second mounting portion and the third mounting portion may be convex so that the cut annular body can be caught.
[0044] (3) In addition to the above-described embodiment, the shape of the cut ring-shaped body can be changed as appropriate. For example, the cut ring-shaped body may be circular, elliptical, or irregular, or may have a shape in which the cut ends are overlapped one on top of the other. [Explanation of symbols]
