[0010] [Figure 1] FIG. 1 is a schematic cross-sectional view illustrating an example of an electrolytic capacitor according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. [Diagram 2] FIG. 2 is a schematic perspective view showing a capacitor element of the electrolytic capacitor, in which the capacitor element is partially developed. [Diagram 3] FIG. 3 is a schematic enlarged view showing a state in which a solid electrolyte is formed between an anode body and a cathode body in the capacitor element of the above embodiment. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0011] 1. Overview The method for manufacturing the electrolytic capacitor 1 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes a first step, a second step, and a third step. In the first step, a capacitor element 10 is formed including an anode body 21 having a dielectric layer 210 formed on its surface, a cathode body 22, and a separator 23 provided between the anode body 21 and the cathode body 22 (see FIG. 2). In the second step, the capacitor element 10 is impregnated with a treatment liquid containing an acid component and a base component. In the third step, after the second step, the capacitor element 10 is impregnated with a conductive polymer dispersion in which fine particles of a conductive polymer 250 containing a polyanion are dispersed in a solvent, with a portion of the treatment liquid remaining in the capacitor element 10 (see FIG. 3). The pH of the treatment liquid is higher than the pH of the conductive polymer dispersion.

[0012] Moreover, the manufacturing method of the electrolytic capacitor 1 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes a first step, a second step, and a third step. In the first step, a capacitor element 10 is formed including an anode body 21 having a dielectric layer 210 formed on its surface, a cathode body 22, and a separator 23 provided between the anode body 21 and the cathode body 22 (see FIG. 2). In the second step, the capacitor element 10 is impregnated with a treatment liquid containing boric acid as an acid component and a base component. 3).

[0013] In this embodiment, the acid component and the base component in the treatment liquid make it easy for the conductive polymer dispersion to be impregnated into the inside of capacitor element 10.

[0014] In addition, the pH of the treatment liquid is higher than the pH of the conductive polymer dispersion, so that the conductive polymer dispersion can easily be impregnated into the interior of capacitor element 10 .

[0015] Furthermore, since the acid component of the treatment liquid is boric acid, the conductive polymer dispersion can be easily impregnated into the interior of capacitor element 10 .

[0016] Therefore, according to the method for manufacturing electrolytic capacitor 1 of the present embodiment, the conductive polymer dispersion can easily penetrate into the inside of capacitor element 10, and therefore the amount of conductive polymer 250 adhered to separator 23 can be increased.

[0017] 2.Details 2-1.Electrolytic capacitors The configuration of the electrolytic capacitor 1 according to this embodiment will be described in detail below.

[0018] As shown in FIG. 1, electrolytic capacitor 1 includes a capacitor element 10, a bottomed case 11, a sealing member 12, a seat plate 13, lead wires 14A and 14B, and lead tabs 15A and 15B.

[0019] (1) Case with bottom The bottomed case 11 is configured to be capable of housing the capacitor element 10. Specifically, the bottomed case 11 is a cylindrical member that is not open at the bottom but is open at the top. Therefore, the capacitor element 10 can be placed inside the bottomed case 11 through the opening of the bottomed case 11. The bottomed case 11 is made of one or more materials selected from the group consisting of, for example, aluminum, stainless steel, copper, iron, brass, and alloys thereof.

[0020] (2) Sealing member and seat plate The opening of the bottomed case 11 is closed with a sealing member 12. The sealing member 12 is made of, for example, a rubber material such as EPT (ethylene-propylene terpolymer) or IIR (isobutylene-isoprene rubber), or a resin material such as epoxy resin. The sealing member 12 has a pair of through holes. The bottomed case 11 is drawn inward near its open end, and the open end is curled, thereby crimping the sealing member 12. Furthermore, this sealing member 12 is covered with a seat plate 13. The seat plate 13 is made of, for example, an electrically insulating resin material.

[0021] (3) Lead wires and lead tabs A pair of lead wires 14A and 14B are drawn out from through holes in sealing member 12 and pass through seat plate 13. A pair of lead tabs 15A and 15B are embedded in sealing member 12. Lead tab 15A electrically connects lead wire 14A to an electrode (anode body 21) of capacitor element 10. Lead tab 15B electrically connects lead wire 14B to an electrode (cathode body 22) of capacitor element 10.

[0022] (4) Capacitor element Capacitor element 10 housed in bottomed case 11 will now be described in detail.

[0023] Capacitor element 10 of this embodiment is a wound body, as shown in Fig. 2. The wound body shown in Fig. 2 shows a state in which capacitor element 10 is taken out from electrolytic capacitor 1 shown in Fig. 1 and partially developed.

[0024] Capacitor element 10 includes anode body 21, cathode body 22, and separator 23. As shown in Fig. 2, lead tab 15A is electrically connected to anode body 21, and lead tab 15B is electrically connected to cathode body 22. Thus, anode body 21 is electrically connected to lead wire 14A via lead tab 15A, and cathode body 22 is electrically connected to lead wire 14B via lead tab 15B.

[0025] Separator 23 is provided between anode body 21 and cathode body 22. Anode body 21, cathode body 22, and separator 23 are wound in this state. Separator 23 is a nonwoven fabric containing, for example, cellulose fiber, kraft, polyethylene terephthalate, polyphenylene sulfide, nylon, aromatic polyamide, polyimide, polyamideimide, polyetherimide, rayon, glass, vinylon, or aramid fiber. In this embodiment, separator 23 preferably contains cellulose fiber. The outermost periphery of capacitor element 10 is fastened and fixed with fastening tape 24.

[0026] In capacitor element 10, solid electrolyte 25 is formed between anode body 21 and cathode body 22. A schematic enlarged view showing this state is shown in Fig. 3. As shown in Fig. 3, separator 23 holds solid electrolyte 25.

[0027] (4-1) Anode body 3, anode body 21 includes a metal foil and a dielectric layer 210 formed on the surface of the metal foil. That is, capacitor element 10 includes anode body 21 with dielectric layer 210 formed on the surface.

[0028] The surface of the metal foil is roughened. This increases the surface area of the metal foil, and also increases the area of the dielectric layer 210 formed on the surface of the metal foil. The method of roughening is not particularly limited, and for example, an etching method can be adopted. The material of the metal foil is not particularly limited, but is preferably a valve metal such as aluminum, tantalum, niobium, or titanium, or an alloy containing a valve metal.

[0029] The dielectric layer 210 is formed by subjecting the surface of the metal foil to a chemical conversion treatment. This chemical conversion treatment forms an oxide film on the surface of the metal foil, and this oxide film becomes the dielectric layer 210. For example, the chemical conversion treatment may be performed by applying a voltage to the metal foil while the metal foil is immersed in a treatment liquid. The treatment liquid is not particularly limited, but may be, for example, an ammonium adipate solution.

[0030] (4-2) Cathode body Cathode body 22 may be made of a metal foil similar to the metal foil used in the manufacture of anode body 21. Cathode body 22 may have a roughened surface. Cathode body 22 may have a layer containing, for example, titanium or carbon formed on its surface.

[0031] (4-3) Solid electrolyte As shown in FIG. 3, the solid electrolyte 25 is in contact with the dielectric layer 210 and is interposed between the anode body 21 and the cathode body 22. The solid electrolyte 25 is porous with fine voids therein. The solid electrolyte 25 is porous with fine voids therein. The solid electrolyte 25 can be formed by impregnating the capacitor element 10 with a polymer dispersion containing a solvent and fine particles of the conductive polymer 250 dispersed in the solvent, and volatilizing the solvent from the capacitor element 10. That is, the capacitor element 10 is impregnated with fine particles of the conductive polymer 250. The conductive polymer 250 is attached to at least a part of the surface of the dielectric layer 210, and is attached to at least a part of the surfaces of the separator 23 and the cathode body 22.

[0032] In this embodiment, it is preferable that boric acid is present on the surface of separator 23. This boric acid can improve the impregnation of separator 23 with the conductive polymer dispersion. Therefore, the amount of conductive polymer 250 attached to separator 23 can be increased. In addition, the impregnation of capacitor element 10 with electrolyte 26 can also be improved. Note that the boric acid present on the surface of separator 23 may cover the surface of the fibers of separator 23, or may be attached to the surface of separator 23 in an island shape.

[0033] As the solvent, a volatile liquid component can be used. As the volatile liquid component, for example, water, a non-aqueous solvent, or a mixture of water and a non-aqueous solvent can be used. As the non-aqueous solvent, a protic solvent or an aprotic solvent can be used. The protic solvent can include, for example, at least one of alcohols and ethers. The alcohols can include, for example, one or more selected from the group consisting of methanol, ethanol, propanol, butanol, ethylene glycol, and propylene glycol. The ethers can include, for example, at least one of formaldehyde and 1,4-dioxane. The aprotic solvent can include, for example, one or more selected from the group consisting of amides, esters, and ketones. The amides can include, for example, one or more selected from the group consisting of N-methylacetamide, N,N-dimethylformamide, and N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone. The esters can include, for example, methyl acetate. The ketones can include, for example, methyl ethyl ketone.

[0034] The conductive polymer 250 preferably contains one or more components selected from the group consisting of, for example, polypyrrole, polythiophene, polyaniline, and derivatives thereof. For example, derivatives of polythiophene include poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT). The conductive polymer 250 may contain a homopolymer or a copolymer. The weight-average molecular weight of the conductive polymer 250 is not particularly limited, but is, for example, 1000 to 100000. The average particle size of the fine particles of the conductive polymer 250 is not particularly limited, but is, for example, preferably 50 nm to 1000 nm, more preferably 100 nm to 500 nm. The average particle size used in this specification means the average particle size of the particles and / or aggregates constituting the particle size distribution peak. In addition, in the particle size distribution measurement by the dynamic light scattering method, when at least a part of the particles of the conductive polymer to be measured aggregates in the medium to form an aggregate, the particle size of the aggregate is measured. The average particle size at the particle size distribution peak can be obtained from particle size distribution measurement by dynamic light scattering method.

[0035] The conductive polymer 250 of this embodiment includes a polyanion. The polyanion functions as a dopant. This dopant allows the conductive polymer 250 to exhibit conductivity. The polyanion is, for example, a polymeric sulfonic acid. In this case, the dopant is less likely to separate from the conductive polymer 250 than when a monomolecular acid component is included as the dopant, and the dopant is particularly less likely to separate from the conductive polymer 250 even at high temperatures.

[0036] The polymeric sulfonic acid may include, for example, one or more selected from the group consisting of polyvinyl sulfonic acid, polystyrene sulfonic acid, polyallyl sulfonic acid, polyacryl sulfonic acid, polymethacryl sulfonic acid, poly(2-acrylamido-2-methylpropane sulfonic acid), and polyisoprene sulfonic acid.

[0037] It is particularly preferable that the polyanion contains polystyrene sulfonic acid. In this case, it is considered that the conductive polymer 250 is dispersed and bonded to the side chain of the polystyrene sulfonic acid in an island-like manner. Therefore, the dopant is difficult to separate from the conductive polymer 250, especially at high temperatures.

[0038] (4-4) Electrolyte Capacitor element 10 is impregnated with electrolytic solution 26. Specifically, electrolytic solution 26 penetrates into a plurality of voids in solid electrolyte 25. Therefore, electrolytic solution 26 is in contact with dielectric layer 210 and solid electrolyte 25.

[0039] The electrolytic solution 26 contains a solvent and an acid component (corresponding to a second acid component described later). The oxidizing action of this acid component can repair defects in the dielectric layer 210. Specifically, the dielectric layer 210 can be formed by oxidizing a portion of the dielectric layer 210 where the metal foil of the anode body 21 is exposed.

[0040] The solvent may include, for example, one or more components selected from the group consisting of glycol compounds, sulfone compounds, lactone compounds, carbonate compounds, alcohols, and polyols.

[0041] The glycol compound may include, for example, one or more selected from the group consisting of ethylene glycol (EG), diethylene glycol, triethylene glycol, propylene glycol, polyethylene glycol (PEG), and polyalkylene glycol.

[0042] The sulfone compound can include, for example, one or more members selected from the group consisting of sulfolane, 3-methylsulfolane, dimethylsulfoxide, and diethylsulfoxide.

[0043] The lactone compound can include, for example, one or more selected from the group consisting of γ-butyrolactone, β-butyrolactone, α-valerolactone, and γ-valerolactone.

[0044] The carbonate compound may include, for example, one or more components selected from the group consisting of dimethyl carbonate (DMC), diethyl carbonate (DEC), ethyl methyl carbonate (EMC), ethylene carbonate (EC), propylene carbonate (PC), and fluoroethylene carbonate (FEC).

[0045] The alcohol may include one or more selected from the group consisting of methanol, ethanol, propanol, butanol, cyclobutanol, cyclohexanol, methyl cellosolve, and ethyl cellosolve.

[0046] The solvent preferably contains a glycol compound, and particularly preferably contains ethylene glycol or propylene glycol. In this case, it is possible to prevent the solvent from evaporating and passing through the gap between the bottomed case 11 and the sealing member 12 or through the sealing member 12 itself, thereby preventing the solvent in the electrolyte 26 from decreasing.

[0047] The solvent may contain a polyol containing three or more hydroxyl groups, and particularly preferably contains at least one of glycerin and polyglycerin. In this case, it is easy to suppress the reduction of the solvent in the electrolyte solution 26, and it is easy to maintain the state in which the electrolyte solution 26 is present around the conductive polymer 250.

[0048] The acid component preferably includes an organic acid, which may include, for example, one or more selected from the group consisting of phthalic acid, isophthalic acid, terephthalic acid, maleic acid, adipic acid, benzoic acid, toluic acid, enanthic acid, malonic acid, 1,6-decanedicarboxylic acid, 1,7-octanedicarboxylic acid, azelaic acid, salicylic acid, oxalic acid, and glycolic acid.

[0049] The acid component may include an inorganic acid, which may include, for example, one or more acids selected from the group consisting of boric acid, phosphoric acid, phosphorous acid, hypophosphorous acid, borate esters, phosphoric acid esters, carbonic acid, and silicic acid.

[0050] It is also preferable that the acid component contains, for example, a complex acid compound of the above-mentioned organic acid and inorganic acid. The complex acid compound preferably contains one or more selected from the group consisting of borodisalicylic acid, borodiglycolic acid, and borodisalic acid.

[0051] The acid component may be a polymeric acid component, which may include, for example, one or more selected from the group consisting of polyacrylic acid, polymethacrylic acid, polyvinyl sulfonic acid, polystyrene sulfonic acid, polyallyl sulfonic acid, polyacryl sulfonic acid, polymethacryl sulfonic acid, poly(2-acrylamido-2-methylpropane sulfonic acid), and polyisoprene sulfonic acid.

[0052] The electrolytic capacitor 1 may generate heat due to the flow of ripple current. In such a case, a complex acid compound or a polymeric acid component is preferable because of its excellent thermal stability.

[0053] The electrolyte 26 may contain components other than the solvent and the acid component. In this case, it is possible to neutralize at least a part of the acid component, and it is possible to increase the concentration of the acid component while suppressing corrosion of the electrode caused by the acid component.

[0054] In the electrolytic solution 26, the equivalent ratio of the acid component is preferably greater than the equivalent ratio of the base component. In this case, the de-doping phenomenon can be effectively suppressed. The equivalent ratio of the acid component to the base component is preferably 1.0 to 30. The concentration of the base component in the liquid component is preferably 0.1% by mass or more and 20% by mass or less, and more preferably 3% by mass or more and 10% by mass or less.

[0055] The base component preferably contains one or more components selected from the group consisting of primary amine compounds, secondary amine compounds, tertiary amine compounds, ammonium compounds, quaternary ammonium compounds, and amidine compounds. These components have high heat resistance, and therefore can suppress deterioration of the electrolyte solution 26 due to heat. Examples of these components include methylamine, dimethylamine, trimethylamine, dimethylethylamine, ethylamine, diethylamine, triethylamine, ethylenediamine, N,N-diisopropylethylamine, tetramethylethylenediamine, hexamethylenediamine, spermidine, spermine, amantadine, aniline, phenethylamine, toluidine, pyrrolidine, piperidine, piperazine, morpholine, imidazole, pyridine, pyridazine, pyrimidine, pyrazine, 4-dimethylaminopyridine, ammonium, diethyldimethylammonium, 1,2,3-trimethylimidazolinium, 1,2,3,4-tetramethylimidazolinium, 1,3-dimethyl-2-ethyl-imidazolinium, 1,3,4-trimethyl-2-ethylimidazolinium, 1,3-dimethyl-2-heptylimidazolinium salts, etc. The base component can include one or more of these components.

[0056] The solvent may contain components other than the solvent, acid component, and base component, additives, and the like.

[0057] The pH of the electrolytic solution 26 is preferably 4 or less, more preferably 3.8 or less, and even more preferably 3.6 or less. By setting the pH of the electrolytic solution 26 to 4 or less, it is easy to suppress the undoping phenomenon. The lower limit of the pH of the electrolytic solution 26 is not particularly limited, but is, for example, 2.0 or more.

[0058] 2-2. Manufacturing method of electrolytic capacitors Hereinafter, an example of a method for manufacturing the electrolytic capacitor 1 of this embodiment will be described step by step. The method for manufacturing the electrolytic capacitor 1 of this embodiment includes a first step, a second step, and a third step, and further includes a fourth step and a fifth step.

[0059] (1) First step In the first step, capacitor element 10 is fabricated, including anode body 21 having dielectric layer 210 formed on its surface, cathode body 22, and separator 23 provided between anode body 21 and cathode body 22. In the first step, it is preferable to fabricate anode body 21, cathode body 22, and capacitor element 10.

[0060] (1-1) Preparation of anode body A metal foil is prepared as the raw material of the anode body 21. Specifically, the anode body 21 can be produced by cutting a large-sized rolled metal plate.

[0061] By roughening the surface of this metal foil, a plurality of fine projections and recesses can be formed on the surface of the metal foil. The surface of the metal foil can be roughened, for example, by etching the metal foil. For example, a direct current electrolysis method or an alternating current electrolysis method can be used as the etching method.

[0062] Next, a dielectric layer 210 is formed on the surface of the roughened metal foil. The method of forming the dielectric layer 210 is not particularly limited, but for example, the dielectric layer 210 can be formed by subjecting the metal foil to a chemical conversion treatment. In the chemical conversion treatment, for example, the roughened metal foil is immersed in a chemical conversion solution such as an ammonium adipate solution, and then heated or a voltage is applied. This results in an anode body 21 having a dielectric layer 210 formed on its surface. The lead wire 14A is electrically connected to the anode body 21. The method of connecting the anode body 21 and the lead wire 14A is not particularly limited, but for example, caulking or ultrasonic welding can be used. In this embodiment, the anode body 21 and the lead wire 14A are electrically connected via a lead tab 15A.

[0063] (1-2) Preparation of the cathode body Cathode body 22 can be produced from a metal foil in the same manner as anode body 21. Specifically, cathode body 22 can be produced by cutting a large-sized rolled metal plate.

[0064] Lead wire 14B is electrically connected to this cathode body 22. The method for connecting cathode body 22 and lead wire 14B is not particularly limited, but for example, caulking or ultrasonic welding can be used. In this embodiment, cathode body 22 and lead wire 14B are electrically connected via lead tab 15B.

[0065] If necessary, the surface of cathode body 22 may be roughened, or an oxide film or a layer containing a conductive layer such as titanium and carbon may be formed on the surface of cathode body 22 .

[0066] (1-3) Fabrication of capacitor element A wound body (capacitor element 10) as shown in FIG. 2 is produced using the above-described anode body 21, cathode body 22, and separator 23. Specifically, the wound body is produced by stacking anode body 21, separator 23, and cathode body 22 in this order and winding them concentrically. The end of cathode body 22 located in the outermost layer of the wound body is fixed with stop tape 24. This makes it possible to produce capacitor element 10 shown in FIG. 2. Furthermore, lead wires 14A, 14B taken out from anode body 21 and cathode body 22 are pulled out from the through hole of sealing member 12, and sealing member 12 is disposed.

[0067] (2)Second process In the second step, the capacitor element 10 produced in the first step is impregnated with a treatment liquid containing an acid component and a base component. In this specification, in order to distinguish between the acid component and base component contained in the electrolytic solution used in the fourth step described below and the acid component and base component contained in the treatment liquid used in the second step, the acid component and base component contained in the treatment liquid are referred to as the first acid component and the first base component, respectively. Also, the acid component and base component contained in the electrolytic solution are referred to as the second acid component and the second base component, respectively.

[0068] The first acid component is a component that has the property of reacting with hydroxyl groups present on the surface of separator 23, and can contain, for example, one or more components selected from the group consisting of boric acid, phosphoric acid, adipic acid, citric acid, malonic acid, and tartaric acid. The first acid component reacts with the hydroxyl groups on the surface of separator 23, thereby modifying the surface of separator 23.

[0069] The first base component is a component capable of incorporating a proton that bonds the hydroxyl group on the surface of the separator 23 with an acidic functional group such as a sulfo group possessed by the polyanion of the conductive polymer, and contains, for example, ammonium. It is considered that the hydroxyl group on the surface of the separator 23 and the acidic functional group possessed by the polyanion of the conductive polymer are bonded via a proton. By incorporating this proton with the first base component, the interaction between the surface of the separator 23 and the polyanion of the conductive polymer can be weakened. By weakening this interaction, it is possible to suppress the conductive polymer dispersion from remaining near the end faces 101 and 102 of the capacitor element 10, and the conductive polymer dispersion is easily impregnated into the inside of the capacitor element 10. Therefore, in the capacitor element 10, fine particles of the conductive polymer 250 can be arranged through the separator 23 to the inside of the capacitor element 10 (the surface of the fiber of the separator 23 away from the end faces 101 and 102, the surface of the dielectric layer 210, and the surface of the cathode body 22). The first acid component and the first base component may be ionized in the treatment liquid.

[0070] Boric acid as the first acid component is preferable in that it is less likely to cause the fine particles of the conductive polymer 250 in the conductive polymer dispersion to aggregate and is less likely to increase the viscosity of the conductive polymer dispersion. If the fine particles of the conductive polymer 250 in the conductive polymer dispersion aggregate or the viscosity of the conductive polymer dispersion increases, it becomes difficult for the conductive polymer dispersion to impregnate the inside of the capacitor element 10.

[0071] Furthermore, in this embodiment, by impregnating capacitor element 10 with a treatment liquid containing boric acid and a first base component as the first acid component, boric acid can be adhered to separator 23. Since boric acid is hygroscopic, the boric acid adhered to separator 23 can absorb moisture in separator 23, and the space in separator 23 for the conductive polymer dispersion to be impregnated can be increased. Therefore, the impregnation of separator 23 with the conductive polymer dispersion is improved, and the impregnation of capacitor element 10 with the conductive polymer dispersion is also improved.

[0072] It is also preferable that the first acid component and the first base component in the treatment liquid are formed by dissolving a salt of the first acid component and the first base component in the treatment liquid. For example, it is also preferable that the boric acid in the treatment liquid is derived from a boric acid compound that is a hydrate. That is, it is also preferable that the treatment liquid is a solution of a boric acid compound, and the boric acid compound is a hydrate. Since boric acid is generated by dissolving the boric acid compound in the treatment liquid, the surface of the separator 23 can be modified by this boric acid. In addition, boric acid can be attached to the separator 23, and the impregnation of the conductive polymer dispersion into the separator 23 can be improved, and the impregnation of the conductive polymer dispersion into the capacitor element 10 can also be improved.

[0073] After the second step, and before the capacitor element 10 is impregnated with the conductive polymer dispersion (before the third step), it is preferable that a part of the first acid component in the treatment liquid remains in the capacitor element 10, and it is preferable that a part of the first base component remains in the treatment liquid. When the capacitor element 10 is impregnated with the conductive polymer dispersion, the first acid component remaining in the capacitor element 10 is redissolved, which makes it easier to impregnate the inside of the capacitor element 10 with the conductive polymer dispersion. For example, when the first acid component is boric acid, boric acid is present on the surface of the fibers of the separator 23. This boric acid is redissolved in the conductive polymer dispersion, which makes it easier to impregnate the inside of the capacitor element 10 with the conductive polymer dispersion. In addition, the first base component remaining in the capacitor element 10 can also improve the impregnation of the conductive polymer dispersion into the inside of the capacitor element 10. The remaining amount of the first acid component and the remaining amount of the first base component are affected by the drying conditions (temperature and time) when drying the capacitor element 10 after impregnating it with the treatment liquid, and the concentrations of the first acid component and the first base component in the treatment liquid. The remaining first acid component may include a reaction product between the first acid component and other components, and the remaining first base component may include a reaction product between the first base component and other components.

[0074] Furthermore, depending on the type of the first base component remaining in the capacitor element 10, if the first base component remains in the capacitor element 10, the conductivity (electrical conductivity) of the conductive polymer may decrease, and the ESR of the electrolytic capacitor 1 may increase. In this regard, if the first base component is ammonium, the conductivity of the conductive polymer is less likely to decrease. This is thought to be because ammonium is highly volatile and therefore is less likely to remain in the capacitor element 10. For this reason, the first base component in this embodiment is preferably ammonium.

[0075] The boric acid compound is preferably ammonium borate. Specifically, it is preferably a hydrate of ammonium borate. Examples of the hydrate of ammonium borate include ammonium tetraborate tetrahydrate ((NH4)2B4O7·4H2O), ammonium pentaborate octahydrate ((NH4) 20Examples of the boric acid compound include ammonium pentaborate octahydrate, with ammonium pentaborate octahydrate being particularly preferred. When the boric acid compound is ammonium borate, the boric acid improves the impregnation of separator 23 with the conductive polymer dispersion, while the ammonium, which is the first base component, suppresses an increase in the viscosity of the conductive polymer dispersion, allowing the conductive polymer dispersion to impregnate into the inside of capacitor element 10.

[0076] The content of the boric acid compound in the treatment liquid is preferably 0.1% by weight or more and 5.0% by weight or less. In this case, when the content of the boric acid compound in the treatment liquid is 0.1% by weight or more, the conductive polymer dispersion can be sufficiently impregnated into separator 23. When the content of the boric acid compound in the treatment liquid is 5.0% by weight or less, the first base component remaining in capacitor element 10 can be reduced, and a decrease in the conductivity of the conductive polymer can be suppressed.

[0077] In this embodiment, the pH of the treatment liquid is higher than the pH of the conductive polymer dispersion. In this case, the first base component contained in the treatment liquid can effectively capture protons. In addition, by pre-impregnating the capacitor element 10 with a treatment liquid having a higher pH than the conductive polymer dispersion, the wettability of the separator 23 and the foil (anode body 21 and cathode body 22) can be improved even if the conductive polymer dispersion has a lower pH than the treatment liquid. This effect is considered to be due to the fact that the surface potential of the fine particles of the conductive polymer 250 becomes close to zero, suppressing interference between the conductive polymer 250 and the separator 23 and the foil. As a result, the conductive polymer dispersion can be easily impregnated into the inside of the capacitor element 10, and the amount of the conductive polymer 250 attached to the separator 23 can be increased.

[0078] The pH of the treatment liquid is preferably 6 or higher. In this case, it is particularly easy to impregnate separator 23 with the conductive polymer dispersion, and particularly easy to impregnate the inside of capacitor element 10 with the conductive polymer dispersion. The pH of the treatment liquid is more preferably 7.0 or higher. There is no particular upper limit to the pH of the treatment liquid, but it is preferably 9.5 or lower, and more preferably 9.0 or lower.

[0079] The temperature of the treatment liquid is preferably 45° C. or less, and more preferably 35° C. or less. In this case, evaporation of the first base component contained in the treatment liquid can be suppressed. This makes it possible to suppress changes in pH of the treatment liquid, and to effectively allow the first base component to take up protons. In particular, when the first base component is ammonium, it is easy to suppress evaporation of ammonium, and easy to suppress changes in pH of the treatment liquid.

[0080] In the second step, a voltage may be applied between anode body 21 and cathode body 22 while capacitor element 10 is immersed in the treatment liquid. In this case, dielectric layer 210 can be formed on the cross section of anode body 21 located at end faces 101, 102 of capacitor element 10 and on the portion where anode body 21 is exposed without dielectric layer 210 being formed. Thereafter, capacitor element 10 may be washed, or may not be washed. When capacitor element 10 is washed, it is preferable to wash it so that part of the treatment liquid remains on capacitor element 10.

[0081] In the second step, after the capacitor element 10 is impregnated with the treatment liquid, the capacitor element 10 is preferably dried. As described above, since it is preferable that the first acid component and the first base component in the treatment liquid remain in the capacitor element 10, the drying temperature of the capacitor element 10 is preferably a temperature at which the first acid component and the first base component can remain. Furthermore, the drying time of the capacitor element 10 is preferably a time at which the first acid component and the first base component can remain. Furthermore, since it is preferable to evaporate the moisture in the capacitor element when the capacitor element 10 is impregnated with the conductive polymer dispersion, the drying temperature of the capacitor element 10 is preferably a temperature at which at least the water can evaporate.

[0082] (3) Third step In the third step, the conductive polymer dispersion is impregnated into the capacitor element 10 while a portion of the treatment liquid remains in the capacitor element 10. This conductive polymer dispersion contains a solvent and fine particles of the conductive polymer 250 dispersed in the solvent. In the third step, the solid electrolyte 25 containing the conductive polymer 250 can be formed on the surface of the dielectric layer 210, and the solid electrolyte 25 can also be attached to the surface of the separator 23 and the surface of the cathode body 22.

[0083] In the above-mentioned second step, the capacitor element 10 is impregnated with a treatment liquid containing a first acid component and a first base component, so that in the third step, the conductive polymer dispersion is easily impregnated into the inside of the capacitor element 10. Specifically, the surface of the separator 23 is modified by the first acid component in the treatment liquid. Furthermore, the first acid component attached to the surface of the separator 23 is redissolved in the conductive polymer dispersion, improving the impregnation of the conductive polymer dispersion. Furthermore, protons are captured by the first base component in the treatment liquid, weakening the interaction between the surface of the separator 23 and the polyanion. As a result, the conductive polymer dispersion is less likely to remain near the end faces 101 and 102 of the capacitor element 10, and is more likely to impregnate the inside of the capacitor element 10 and is more likely to impregnate into gaps inside the wound body.

[0084] In particular, when the first acid component is boric acid as in the present embodiment, it is preferable that there is a portion on the surface of the fiber of the separator 23 to which boric acid is attached immediately before the third step. Specifically, it is considered that by drying the capacitor element 10 impregnated with the treatment liquid, crystallized boric acid is attached to the separator 23. It is considered that the boric acid absorbs moisture in the separator 23, and the space in the separator 23 into which the conductive polymer dispersion can be impregnated expands. In this case, it is preferable that the separator 23 contains cellulose fibers. Since cellulose fibers contain a relatively large amount of moisture among fibers that can be used as the separator 23, the improvement in the impregnation of the conductive polymer dispersion by boric acid is more easily exhibited. In addition, the impregnation of the conductive polymer dispersion is improved by re-dissolving the boric acid in the conductive polymer dispersion. As a result, the conductive polymer dispersion is more likely to impregnate the inside of the capacitor element 10, and the amount of the conductive polymer 250 attached to the separator 23 can be increased.

[0085] Furthermore, in this embodiment, since the pH of the treatment liquid is higher than the pH of the conductive polymer dispersion, protons are effectively taken up by the first base component, so that the conductive polymer dispersion can be easily impregnated into the inside of the capacitor element 10 and can also be easily impregnated into gaps inside the wound body. Even if the conductive polymer dispersion has a low pH, the wettability of the separator 23 and the foil (anode body 21 and cathode body 22) is improved. Specifically, the pH of the conductive polymer dispersion may be 5 or less. Even in this case, the conductive polymer dispersion can be easily impregnated into the inside of the capacitor element 10 and can also be easily impregnated into gaps inside the wound body.

[0086] Furthermore, in this embodiment, as described above, the conductive polymer dispersion is easily impregnated into the inside of the capacitor element 10, so that the amount of conductive polymer 250 attached to separator 23 can be increased. This makes it possible to reduce the ESR of electrolytic capacitor 1. Furthermore, even if electrolytic capacitor 1 is used in a state in which a ripple current flows through it, for example, and electrolytic capacitor 1 generates heat, the ESR of electrolytic capacitor 1 is unlikely to increase and the capacitance is unlikely to decrease, so that the life of electrolytic capacitor 1 can be extended.

[0087] The step of impregnating the conductive polymer dispersion into capacitor element 10 may be repeated two or more times. In this case, the amount of solid electrolyte 25 in contact with dielectric layer 210 can be increased.

[0088] (4) 4th step In the fourth step, the capacitor element 10 impregnated with the conductive polymer dispersion is impregnated with the electrolytic solution 26. That is, the manufacturing method of the electrolytic capacitor 1 of this embodiment includes a fourth step of impregnating the capacitor element 10 with the electrolytic solution 26 after the third step. This allows the electrolytic solution 26 to be impregnated into minute gaps in the solid electrolyte 25. The electrolytic solution 26 is also in contact with the dielectric layer 210 and the solid electrolyte 25. Furthermore, by impregnating the capacitor element 10 with the treatment liquid, the electrolytic solution 26 is also more likely to be impregnated into the inside of the capacitor element 10, and also into gaps inside the wound body.

[0089] In addition, it is preferable to volatilize the first base component before impregnating the capacitor element 10 with the electrolytic solution 26. That is, the method for producing the electrolytic capacitor 1 of this embodiment preferably includes a step of volatilizing the first base component after the third step and before the fourth step. In this case, it is possible to suppress a decrease in the conductivity of the conductive polymer due to the first base component remaining in the electrolytic solution 26. Specifically, after the capacitor element 10 is impregnated with the conductive polymer dispersion (third step), the capacitor element 10 can be dried before the capacitor element 10 is impregnated with the electrolytic solution 26, thereby volatilizing the first base component.

[0090] In this embodiment, by impregnating capacitor element 10 with the treatment liquid in the second step described above, capacitor element 10 can be easily impregnated with the electrolyte.

[0091] (5) Fifth step In the fifth step, after the fourth step, capacitor element 10 is sealed in bottomed case 11 to complete electrolytic capacitor 1. That is, capacitor element 10 is housed in bottomed case 11 so that lead wires 14A, 14B are located on the opening side of bottomed case 11, and sealing member 12, which is formed so that lead wires 14A, 14B pass through, is placed above capacitor element 10 to seal capacitor element 10 in bottomed case 11. Then, a drawing process is applied near the open end of bottomed case 11, and the open end is further curled, and seat plate 13 is placed on the curled portion.

[0092] Through these steps, an electrolytic capacitor 1 as shown in Figure 1 is obtained. After that, an aging treatment may be performed while applying a rated voltage.

[0093] 2-3.Applications of electrolytic capacitors The use of the electrolytic capacitor 1 is not particularly limited. The electrolytic capacitor 1 can be used, for example, in a substrate of an ECU (engine control unit) of an automobile, a switching power supply, or the like. The automobile is mainly assumed to be an electric automobile or a hybrid vehicle, but may be a gasoline engine vehicle or a diesel engine vehicle. The electrolytic capacitor 1 may also be used, for example, in a two-wheeled vehicle (including an electric motorcycle), an aircraft, a ship, a drone, or the like. The electrolytic capacitor 1 may also be used, for example, in a power supply device of a CPU (Central Processing Unit) of a server device, a computer device, a home game machine, or the like. In addition, the electrolytic capacitor 1 may also be used, for example, in a power supply device of an FPGA (Field-Programmable Gate Array) of a communication device, an industrial device, or the like, and a power supply device of a GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) of a graphic board, or the like. The use of the electrolytic capacitor 1 is not limited to these, and can be used in a wide variety of fields.

[0094] 2-4.Modifications The configuration of the electrolytic capacitor 1 is not limited to the configuration of the above-described embodiment.

[0095] For example, capacitor element 10 may be a chip type that uses a metal sintered body as the anode body instead of a wound body, or may be a laminated type that uses a metal plate as the anode body.

[0096] For example, electrolytic capacitor 1 does not have to contain electrolytic solution 26. In other words, capacitor element 10 does not have to be impregnated with electrolytic solution 26. In this case, electrolytic capacitor 1 is a so-called solid electrolytic capacitor. Furthermore, when electrolytic capacitor 1 does not contain electrolytic solution 26, the method for manufacturing electrolytic capacitor 1 does not have to include the step of impregnating capacitor element 10 with electrolytic solution 26 (fourth step). EXAMPLES

[0097] The method for manufacturing electrolytic capacitor 1 of the present embodiment will be described in more detail below based on examples, but the method for manufacturing electrolytic capacitor 1 is not limited to the contents of the following examples.

[0098] Examples 1 to 8, Comparative Examples 1 and 2 The methods for producing the electrolytic capacitors of Examples 1 to 8 and Comparative Examples 1 and 2 will be specifically described below.

[0099] (Preparation of anode body) An aluminum foil having a thickness of 100 μm was etched to roughen the surface of the aluminum foil. Then, a dielectric layer was formed on the surface of the aluminum foil by chemical conversion treatment. The chemical conversion treatment was performed by immersing the aluminum foil in an ammonium adipate solution and applying a voltage of 45 V to the solution. Then, the aluminum foil was cut to a length x width of 9 mm x 220 mm to prepare an anode body.

[0100] (Preparation of the cathode body) An aluminum foil having a thickness of 50 μm was subjected to an etching treatment to roughen the surface of the aluminum foil, and then cut into a size of 9 mm×230 mm to prepare a cathode body.

[0101] (Making of the roll) An anode lead tab and a cathode lead tab were connected to the anode body and the cathode body, and the anode body and the cathode body were wound with the separator interposed therebetween while the lead tabs were rolled in. An anode lead wire and a cathode lead wire were connected to the ends of the lead tabs protruding from the wound body, respectively.

[0102] (Preparation of Processing Solution) A treatment liquid was prepared containing a first acid component, a first base component, and water as shown in Table 1. The first acid component and the first base component in the treatment liquid were mixed in the form of a salt of the first acid component and the first base component at the ratio shown in Table 1. The pH of the treatment liquid was the value shown in Table 1.

[0103] (Impregnation in processing liquid) The treatment solution contained in a prescribed container was kept at 35° C., and the wound body was immersed in the treatment solution to impregnate the wound body with the treatment solution.

[0104] (Drying of rolled body) The wound body was removed from the treatment solution and dried at 105° C. for 1 hour, so that the first base component contained in the treatment solution was volatilized from the wound body while the first acid component contained in the treatment solution remained in the wound body. The ends of the outer surface of the wound body were fixed with a stopper tape.

[0105] (Preparation of polymer dispersion) 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene and the polymer dopant polystyrene sulfonate A mixed solution was prepared by mixing poly(phenylene sulfide, weight-average molecular weight 100,000) with ion-exchanged water (liquid component). While stirring the mixed solution, iron (III) sulfate (oxidant) dissolved in ion-exchanged water was added to carry out a polymerization reaction. After the reaction, the reaction solution was dialyzed to remove unreacted monomers and excess oxidant, and a polymer dispersion containing approximately 5 mass% poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) doped with PSS (PEDOT / PSS) was obtained. The pH of this polymer dispersion was adjusted to the value shown in Table 1.

[0106] (Formation of solid electrolyte layer) The wound body was immersed in a polymer dispersion contained in a specified container in a reduced pressure atmosphere (40 kPa) for 5 minutes, and then pulled out of the polymer dispersion. Next, the wound body impregnated with the polymer dispersion was dried in a drying oven at 150°C for 20 minutes to form a solid electrolyte layer that covers at least a part of the dielectric layer.

[0107] (Preparation of electrolyte) The electrolyte solvent used was ethylene glycol and sulfolane. The solute acid component (second acid component) used was phthalic acid. The solute base component (second base component) used was triethylamine. The electrolyte was prepared using the above solvent and solute.

[0108] The electrolyte used was a solution in which phthalic acid and triethylamine were dissolved as solutes in a solvent containing ethylene glycol and sulfolane in a mass ratio of 1:1. The concentrations of the phthalic acid component and the triethylamine component in the electrolyte were 20 mass% and 5 mass%, respectively.

[0109] (Electrolyte Impregnation) The capacitor element was immersed in the electrolyte in a reduced pressure atmosphere (40 kPa) for 5 minutes to impregnate the capacitor element with the electrolyte.

[0110] (Sealing of capacitor elements) The capacitor element impregnated with the electrolyte was sealed to complete the electrolytic capacitor. Specifically, the capacitor element was housed in a bottomed case with the lead wires positioned on the open side of the bottomed case, and a sealing member (elastic material containing butyl rubber as a rubber component) formed so that the lead wires could pass through was placed above the capacitor element to seal the capacitor element in the bottomed case. Then, drawing was performed near the open end of the bottomed case, and the open end was further curled, and a seat plate was placed on the curled portion to complete the electrolytic capacitor as shown in Figure 1. After that, an aging treatment was performed at 100°C for 2 hours while applying a voltage of 32V.

[0111] [evaluation] (1) Initial ESR measurement The ESR value (initial ESR value) (mΩ) of the electrolytic capacitor was measured at a frequency of 100 kHz using a four-terminal LCR meter in an environment of 20°C. The results are shown in Table 1.

[0112] (2) Measurement of initial capacitance The capacitance (initial capacitance) (μF) of the electrolytic capacitor was measured at a frequency of 120 kHz using a four-terminal LCR meter in an environment of 20° C. The results are shown in Table 1.

[0113] (3) Reliability To evaluate reliability, the rated voltage (25V) was applied to the electrolytic capacitor for 1000 hours at a temperature of 145°C, and then the ESR value (mΩ) and capacitance (μF) were measured in the same manner as above. The results are shown in Table 1. Note that the capacitance after reliability is shown as the rate of change in capacitance (%) [100 x (initial capacitance - capacitance after reliability) / (initial capacitance)].

[0114] [Table 1]

[0115] In the electrolytic capacitors of Examples 1 to 8, the wound body was impregnated with a treatment liquid containing a first acid component and a first base component, and the pH of the treatment liquid was higher than that of the polymer dispersion, so that the initial ESR was reduced, the initial capacitance was increased, and changes in ESR and capacitance after reliability testing were suppressed compared to the electrolytic capacitors of Comparative Examples 1 and 2, in which the wound body was impregnated with a treatment liquid having a pH lower than that of the polymer dispersion. This is believed to be because the electrolytic capacitors of Examples 1 to 8 are more likely to be impregnated with the conductive polymer dispersion inside the capacitor element than the electrolytic capacitors of Comparative Examples 1 and 2, and the amount of conductive polymer attached to the separator can be increased.

[0116] In addition, in the electrolytic capacitors of Examples 1, 2, and 4 to 7, the wound body was impregnated with a treatment solution containing boric acid as the first acid component, and therefore the initial ESR was reduced, the initial capacitance was increased, and changes in ESR and capacitance after reliability testing were suppressed compared to the electrolytic capacitors of Comparative Examples 1 and 2, in which the wound body was impregnated with a treatment solution not containing boric acid as the first acid component. This is believed to be because the electrolytic capacitors of Examples 1, 2, and 4 to 7 were more likely to have the conductive polymer dispersion impregnated into the inside of the capacitor element than the electrolytic capacitors of Comparative Examples 1 and 2, and therefore the amount of conductive polymer attached to the separator could be increased.

[0117] (summary) The method for producing an electrolytic capacitor (1) according to the first aspect includes a first step, a second step, and a third step. In the first step, a capacitor element (10) is formed, the capacitor element (10) including an anode body (21) having a dielectric layer (210) formed on its surface, a cathode body (22), and a separator (23) provided between the anode body (21) and the cathode body (22). In the second step, the capacitor element (10) is impregnated with a treatment liquid containing an acid component and a base component. In the third step, after the second step, the capacitor element (10) is impregnated with a conductive polymer dispersion in which fine particles of a conductive polymer (250) containing a polyanion are dispersed in a solvent, with a portion of the treatment liquid remaining in the capacitor element (10). The pH of the treatment liquid is higher than the pH of the conductive polymer dispersion.

[0118] In this case, the acid component and the base component in the treatment liquid facilitate the conductive polymer dispersion to be impregnated into the inside of the capacitor element (10). In addition, the pH of the treatment liquid is higher than the pH of the conductive polymer dispersion, which also facilitates the conductive polymer dispersion to be impregnated into the inside of the capacitor element (10). As a result, the amount of conductive polymer (250) adhering to the separator (23) can be increased.

[0119] The method for producing an electrolytic capacitor (1) according to the second aspect includes a first step, a second step, and a third step. In the first step, a capacitor element (10) is formed, the capacitor element (10) including an anode body (21) having a dielectric layer (210) formed on a surface thereof, a cathode body (22), and a separator (23) provided between the anode body (21) and the cathode body (22). In the second step, the capacitor element (10) is impregnated with a treatment liquid containing boric acid as an acid component and a base component. In the third step, after the second step, the capacitor element (10) is impregnated with a conductive polymer dispersion in which fine particles of a conductive polymer (250) containing a polyanion are dispersed in a solvent, with a portion of the treatment liquid remaining in the capacitor element (10).

[0120] In this case, the acid component and base component in the treatment liquid facilitate the impregnation of the conductive polymer dispersion into the interior of the capacitor element (10). In addition, since the acid component of the treatment liquid is boric acid, the impregnation of the conductive polymer dispersion into the interior of the capacitor element (10) also facilitates. As a result, the amount of conductive polymer (250) adhering to the separator (23) can be increased.

[0121] A third aspect of the present invention relates to a method for producing an electrolytic capacitor (1) according to the first or second aspect, wherein the pH of the treatment liquid is 6 or higher.

[0122] In this case, it becomes particularly easy to impregnate the separator (23) with the conductive polymer dispersion, and it becomes particularly easy to impregnate the inside of the capacitor element (10) with the conductive polymer dispersion.

[0123] A fourth aspect of the method for producing an electrolytic capacitor (1) is any one of the first to third aspects, in which the pH of the conductive polymer dispersion is 5 or less.

[0124] Even in this case, the conductive polymer dispersion can easily penetrate into the interior of the capacitor element (10).

[0125] A fifth aspect of the present invention relates to a method for producing an electrolytic capacitor (1) according to any one of the first to fourth aspects, wherein the temperature of the treatment liquid is 45° C. or lower.

[0126] In this case, evaporation of the base component contained in the treatment liquid can be suppressed. This can suppress changes in the pH of the treatment liquid, and the base component can effectively capture protons. In particular, when the base component is ammonium, evaporation of ammonium can be easily suppressed, and changes in the pH of the treatment liquid can be easily suppressed.

[0127] A sixth aspect of the present invention relates to a method for producing an electrolytic capacitor (1) according to any one of the first to fifth aspects, in which the treatment liquid is a solution containing a boric acid compound dissolved therein, and the boric acid compound is a hydrate.

[0128] In this case, the surface of the separator (23) can be modified by the boric acid. In addition, the boric acid can be attached to the surface of the separator (23). This improves the impregnation of the separator (23) with the conductive polymer dispersion, making it easier for the conductive polymer dispersion to impregnate the capacitor element (10).

[0129] A seventh aspect of the present invention relates to a method for producing an electrolytic capacitor (1) according to the sixth aspect, wherein the boric acid compound is ammonium borate.

[0130] In this case, the boric acid improves the impregnation of the separator (23) with the conductive polymer dispersion while preventing an increase in the viscosity of the conductive polymer dispersion. Furthermore, the conductive polymer dispersion is more likely to penetrate into the inside of the capacitor element (10), and ammonium prevents a decrease in the conductivity of the electrolyte (26).

[0131] An eighth aspect of the present invention relates to a method for producing an electrolytic capacitor (1) according to the sixth or seventh aspect, wherein the content of the boric acid compound in the treatment liquid is 0.1% by weight or more and 5.0% by weight or less.

[0132] In this case, the impregnation of the separator (23) with the conductive polymer dispersion can be effectively improved.

[0133] In a ninth aspect, in the method for producing an electrolytic capacitor (1) of any one of the sixth to eighth aspects, immediately before the third step, there is a portion on the surface of the fibers of the separator (23) where boric acid is adhered.

[0134] In this case, it is believed that the moisture in the separator (23) is absorbed by the boric acid, expanding the space in the separator (23) into which the conductive polymer dispersion can be impregnated. Also, the boric acid redissolves in the conductive polymer dispersion, improving the impregnation of the conductive polymer dispersion. As a result, the conductive polymer dispersion can more easily impregnate the inside of the capacitor element (10), and the amount of conductive polymer (250) attached to the separator (23) can be increased.

[0135] A tenth aspect of the method for producing an electrolytic capacitor (1) is any one of the first to eighth aspects, and further includes a fourth step of impregnating the capacitor element (10) with an electrolytic solution after the third step.

[0136] In this case, the electrolytic solution (26) can be impregnated into minute voids in the solid electrolyte (25). The electrolytic solution (26) is in contact with the dielectric layer (210) and the solid electrolyte (25). By impregnating the capacitor element (10) with the treatment liquid, the electrolytic solution (26) can also easily penetrate into the inside of the capacitor element (10).

[0137] The method for producing the electrolytic capacitor (1) according to an eleventh aspect is the tenth aspect, further comprising the step of volatilizing the base component after the third step and before the fourth step.

[0138] In this case, it is possible to suppress a decrease in the conductivity of the electrolyte (26) caused by the base component.

[0139] A twelfth aspect of the present invention relates to a method for producing an electrolytic capacitor (1) according to any one of the first to eleventh aspects, in which the separator (23) contains cellulose fibers.

[0140] In this case, since the cellulose fibers contain a large amount of moisture, the improvement in the impregnation of the conductive polymer dispersion by boric acid is more easily achieved.

[0141] An electrolytic capacitor (1) according to a thirteenth aspect has a capacitor element (10) including an anode body (21) having a dielectric layer (210) formed on a surface thereof, a cathode body (22), and a separator (23) provided between the anode body (21) and the cathode body (22). The capacitor element (10) is impregnated with fine particles of a conductive polymer (250) containing a polyanion, and boric acid is present on the surface of the separator (23).

[0142] In this case, the boric acid can improve the impregnation of the separator (23) with the conductive polymer dispersion, thereby increasing the amount of conductive polymer (250) adhered to the separator (23). The boric acid can also improve the impregnation of the capacitor element (10) with the electrolyte (26).

[0143] The electrolytic capacitor (1) according to a fourteenth aspect is the electrolytic capacitor (1) according to the thirteenth aspect, in which the separator (23) contains cellulose fibers.
