Description

[Technical field]

[0001] An embodiment of the present invention relates to a status display device, a server device, a status display method, and a program. [Background technology]

[0002] There is a known technology for monitoring the status of target equipment, such as substation equipment, on a web browser on a remote PC (Personal Computer). Examples of substation equipment include uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), generators, and switchgears. Meanwhile, with the recent development of cloud technology, there is a growing interest in monitoring the status of target equipment via a cloud server.

[0003] However, if a user of a status display device displays the status of the monitored equipment on a web browser or leaves the user's seat with the equipment status screen open, the web browser may be left unattended with the equipment status screen displayed, causing the status of the monitored equipment to continue to be updated even when the user is not looking at it, which may result in unnecessary data being transmitted between the monitored equipment and the cloud server. [0008] Hereinafter, a status display device, a server device, a status display method, and a program according to embodiments will be described with reference to the drawings.

[0009] (First embodiment) Fig. 1 is a schematic diagram showing the configuration of a status display system according to a first embodiment. The status display system 1 includes a monitored facility 11, a server device 13, and a status display device 15. The status display system 1 is a system that causes the status display device 15 to display a facility status screen showing the status of the monitored facility 11. The monitored facility 11, the server device 13, and the status display device 15 are connected via a network such as the Internet. Note that, although Fig. 1 shows one each of the monitored facility 11 and the status display device 15, in reality, a plurality of monitored facilities 11 and a plurality of status display devices 15 may exist.

[0010] The monitored equipment 11 is, for example, a substation equipment such as a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) device, a generator, and a switchgear. The monitored equipment 11 is provided with a sensing module 111 connected to a network. The sensing module 111 measures a state quantity related to the operating state of the monitored equipment 11. When the sensing module 111 receives a request to transmit state data from the server device 13, it generates state data indicating the measured state quantity and transmits the state data to the server device 13. The sensing module 111 transmits the state data at update intervals (e.g., 5 seconds) until a timeout period (e.g., 3 minutes) starting from the time when the transmission request was last received has elapsed. The sensing module 111 may be directly connected to the network, or may be connected to the network via a gateway device that aggregates state data of multiple sensing modules 111.

[0011] The server device 13 is a web server that transmits screen data for displaying an equipment status screen in accordance with a request (page request) from the status display device 15. That is, the server device 13 receives a Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) request including a Uniform Resource Locator (URL) of the equipment status screen from the status display device 15, and transmits Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) data for displaying the equipment status screen, which is a web page, to the status display device 15 based on the HTTP request. The HTML data includes a script that transmits a request to the server device 13 to obtain status data of the monitored equipment 11. The server device 13 may be configured as a cloud server.

[0012] When the server device 13 receives a request to acquire status data from the status display device 15, it transmits a request to transmit the status data to the sensing module 111 of the monitored equipment 11. In response to the transmission request, the server device 13 acquires the status data from the sensing module 111 at each update period and transmits the status data to the status display device 15.

[0013] The status display device 15 is a terminal device such as a PC or a smartphone. The status display device 15 transmits a page request including a URL of an equipment status screen to the server device 13, and receives HTML data for displaying the equipment status screen from the server device 13. The status display device 15 displays the equipment status screen on a display according to the received HTML data. The status display device 15 transmits a request to obtain status data to the server device 13 by executing a script included in the HTML data, and updates the equipment status screen according to the status data returned from the server device 13. This makes it possible to keep the status amount of the monitored equipment displayed on the equipment status screen up to date at each update period.

[0014] FIG. 2 is a diagram showing an example of the operation of the status display system according to the first embodiment. A user of the status display device 15 inputs a URL for displaying the equipment status screen of the desired monitored equipment 11 into the status display device 15, or sends a page request for the equipment status screen to the server device 13 via a hyperlink including the URL (step S1). The server device 13 generates HTML data for displaying the equipment status screen based on the page request, and sends it to the status display device 15 (step S2). The status display device 15 displays the equipment status screen on the display based on the received HTML data (step S3).

[0015] FIG. 3 is a diagram showing an example of an equipment status screen according to the first embodiment. The equipment status screen displays a status display pane P1, a timeout display pane P2, a last updated date and time display pane P3, and a display target selection pane P4. The status display pane P1 displays a diagram showing the equipment configuration of the selected monitored equipment 11 and the status quantity of each equipment. The value of the status quantity displayed in the status display pane P1 is updated every update period. The timeout display pane P2 displays the remaining time until the update of the status quantity times out. The timeout display pane P2 includes an update button B1. When the update button B1 is pressed, the update of the status quantity is resumed. At this time, the remaining time displayed in the timeout display pane P2 is also reset. The last updated date and time display pane P3 displays the last updated date and time of the status quantity displayed in the status display pane P1. Note that when the update of the status quantity times out, the last updated date and time display pane P3 is displayed in a manner indicating that the status quantity has not been updated (for example, displayed in red). The display target selection pane P4 accepts the selection of the monitored equipment 11 to be displayed in the status display pane P1.

[0016] The status display device 15 executes a script included in the HTML data to transmit a request to the server device 13 to obtain status data of the monitored equipment 11 (step S4). The request is realized as asynchronous communication with the HTTP request of the HTML data, for example by a technique such as Ajax. Upon receiving the request, the server device 13 transmits a request to transmit status data to the sensing module 111 of the monitored equipment 11 (step S5). The request to transmit includes the update period of the status data and the timeout time.

[0017] When the sensing module 111 receives a transmission request from the server device 13, it transmits status data to the server device 13 at each update period (step S6). The sensing module 111 transmits status data at each update period until the timeout time indicated in the received transmission request. When the sensing module 111 receives a transmission request, if the timeout time indicated in the transmission request is later than the current timeout time, the sensing module 111 updates the timeout time. On the other hand, if the timeout time indicated in the transmission request is earlier than the current timeout time, the sensing module does not update the timeout time.

[0018] When the server device 13 receives the status data from the sensing module 111, it transmits the status data to the status display device 15 (step S7). When the status display device 15 receives the status data from the server device 13, it updates the display of the status display pane P1 and the last updated date and time display pane P3 on the equipment status screen (step S8).

[0019] When the timeout time has elapsed since the status display device 15 displayed the equipment status screen, the sensing module 111 stops sending status data. Accordingly, the server device 13 stops sending status data to the status display device 15. When the status data is no longer being received, the status display device 15 stops updating the status display pane P1 of the equipment status screen. Meanwhile, the status display device 15 changes the display mode of the timeout display pane P2 based on the script and activates the update button B1 (step S9).

[0020] As a result, even if the user leaves the web browser open, communication between the server device 13 and the sensing module 111 will no longer occur after the timeout period has elapsed. Thereafter, when the user presses the update button B1, the status display device 15 transmits a request to the server device 13 to obtain status data of the monitored equipment 11 (step S10). As a result, the server device 13 transmits a request to transmit status data to the sensing module 111 (step S11), and transmission of the status data is resumed (step S12).

[0021] FIG. 4 is a schematic block diagram showing the configuration of a status display system 1 according to the first embodiment. The server device 13 includes a page request receiving unit 131 , a page generating unit 132 , a page transmitting unit 133 , a status request receiving unit 134 , a status request transmitting unit 135 , a status acquiring unit 136 , a status transmitting unit 137 , and a setting storage unit 138 .

[0022] The page request receiving unit 131 receives a page request for the equipment status screen from the status display device 15. The page generation unit 132 generates HTML data for displaying an equipment status screen based on the received page request. The page generation unit 132 generates HTML data for an equipment status screen related to the monitored equipment 11 indicated by the page request, for example, by adding the ID of the monitored equipment 11 included in the page request to template data for the equipment status screen. The HTML data for the equipment status screen includes a script to be executed by the status display device 15. The script will be described in detail later. The page sending unit 133 sends the HTML data generated by the page generating unit 132 to the status display device 15 .

[0023] The status request receiving unit 134 receives a request to acquire the status quantity of the monitored equipment 11 from the status display device 15. When the status request receiving unit 134 receives a request to acquire the status quantity, the status request receiving unit 134 stores the acquisition request in association with the monitored equipment 11. The status request transmitting unit 135 transmits a transmission request for the status quantity to the monitored equipment 11 based on the acquisition request received by the status request receiving unit 134. Specifically, the status request transmitting unit 135 reads the ID of the monitored equipment 11 from which the status quantity is to be acquired from the acquisition request, and transmits a transmission request to the sensing module 111 of the monitored equipment 11 indicated by the ID. The transmission request may include data indicating an update period.

[0024] The status acquisition unit 136 receives status data from the sensing module 111. The status data includes the status quantity of the monitored equipment 11, the ID of the monitored equipment 11, the acquisition time of the status data, and the remaining time until the timeout time. The status transmission unit 137 transmits the status data acquired by the status acquisition unit 136 to the status display device 15 that is the sender of the acquisition request. For example, the status transmission unit 137 reads out an acquisition request associated with the monitored equipment 11 related to the received status data, and transmits the acquired status data as a response to the acquisition request.

[0025] The setting storage unit 138 stores the timeout period and the update time for each monitored equipment 11. For example, when the monitored equipment 11 is managed in multiple hierarchies such as the owner company, the facility in which it is installed, the building in the facility, and the type of monitored equipment 11, the setting storage unit 138 may store the timeout period and the update time for each hierarchical level. In this case, for example, when the setting storage unit 138 does not have a timeout period and an update time associated with the ID of a certain monitored equipment 11, the status request transmission unit 135 adopts the timeout period and the update time associated with a higher hierarchical level. Note that the order of the hierarchical levels is not limited to the above. Also, the setting storage unit 138 may not manage the monitored equipment 11 in a hierarchical level, but may simply store the monitored equipment 11 in association with attributes such as the owner company, the facility in which it is installed, the building in the facility, and the type of monitored equipment 11. The hierarchical level is an example of an attribute.

[0026] The status display device 15 includes a page request sending unit 151, a page receiving unit 152, a display control unit 153, and a script execution unit 154 as functions of a web browser. The page request sending unit 151 sends a page request to the server device 13 to acquire a web page based on a user's operation. The page receiving unit 152 receives HTML data for displaying the web page from the server device 13. The display control unit 153 analyzes the HTML data received by the page receiving unit 152, generates a display screen, and displays the screen on a display. The script execution unit 154 executes a script included in the HTML data received by the page receiving unit 152.

[0027] When the status display device 15 receives HTML data for the equipment status screen from the server device 13, the script execution unit 154 functions as a status request sending unit 155, a status receiving unit 156, a timer unit 157, an update unit 158, and a continuation judgment unit 159.

[0028] The status request sending unit 155 sends a request to acquire status data of the monitored equipment 11 to the server device 13. The status request sending unit 155 sends the acquisition request when HTML data is displayed. The status request sending unit 155 also sends an acquisition request when the update button B1 is pressed. The status request sending unit is an example of a request unit that sends to the server device 13 a request to acquire status data indicating the operating status of the monitored equipment 11. The acquisition request according to the first embodiment is a request to acquire status data at each update cycle during the timeout period, and not to acquire status data after the timeout period has elapsed.

[0029] The status receiving unit 156 receives status data from the server device 13 . The timer unit 157 measures the remaining time until the time-out period. The update unit 158 updates the status display pane P1, the timeout display pane P2, and the last updated date and time display pane P3 based on the status data received from the server device 13. Specifically, the update unit 158 updates the status display pane P1 with the value of the state quantity included in the status data. The update unit 158 corrects the remaining time measured by the timer unit 157 with the remaining time until the timeout time included in the status data, and updates the timeout display pane P2. When the remaining time until the timeout time becomes zero, the update unit 158 enables the update button B1 of the timeout display pane P2. The update unit 158 updates the last updated date and time display pane P3 with the last updated date and time included in the status data. The continuation determination unit 159 determines whether or not to continue receiving the status data by determining whether or not the update button B1 has been pressed.

[0030] FIG. 5 is a flowchart showing an operation of the server device 13 according to the first embodiment when a page request is received. The page request receiving unit 131 of the server device 13 receives a page request for an equipment status screen from the status display device 15 (step S101). The page generating unit 132 generates HTML data for displaying the equipment status screen based on the received page request (step S102). The page transmitting unit 133 transmits the HTML data generated by the page generating unit 132 to the status display device 15 (step S103).

[0031] FIG. 6 is a flowchart showing an operation of the server device 13 according to the first embodiment when a request to acquire a state quantity is received. The status request receiving unit 134 receives a request to acquire a status quantity from the status display device 15 (step S111). The acquisition request includes the ID of the monitored equipment 11. The status request receiving unit 134 stores the received acquisition request in association with the monitored equipment 11 (step S112). The status request transmitting unit 135 reads out the timeout period and update cycle associated with the ID of the monitored equipment 11 included in the received acquisition request from the setting storage unit 138 (step S113). The status request transmitting unit 135 calculates the timeout time by adding the read timeout period to the current time (step S114). The status request transmitting unit 135 transmits a transmission request including the timeout time and update cycle to the sensing module 111 based on the ID of the monitored equipment 11 (step S115).

[0032] FIG. 7 is a flowchart showing an operation of the server device 13 according to the first embodiment when receiving status data. The status acquisition unit 136 receives status data from the sensing module 111 (step S121). The status transmission unit 137 reads out an acquisition request associated with the monitored equipment 11 related to the received status data from among the acquisition requests stored in step S112 (step S122). Note that the status request reception unit 134 may receive multiple acquisition requests for one monitored equipment 11. In this case, the status transmission unit 137 reads out each acquisition request. The status transmission unit 137 transmits the acquired status data as a response to the acquisition request (step S123).

[0033] FIG. 8 is a flowchart showing the operation of the status display device 15 according to the first embodiment. The page request sending unit 151 of the status display device 15 sends a page request for acquiring a web page to the server device 13 based on a user's operation (step S201). The page receiving unit 152 receives HTML data for displaying the web page from the server device 13 (step S202). The display control unit 153 analyzes the HTML data received in step S202, generates a display screen, and displays it on the display (step S203).

[0034] The script execution unit 154 executes the script included in the HTML data received by the page reception unit 152 (step S204). The status request transmission unit 155 transmits a request to obtain status data of the monitored equipment 11 to the server device 13 (step S205). The timer unit 157 starts measuring the remaining time until the timeout time (step S206). The status receiving unit 156 determines whether or not status data has been received from the server device 13 (step S207).

[0035] When status data is received from the server device 13 (step S207: YES), the update unit 158 updates the status display pane P1 and the last updated date and time display pane P3 based on the status data (step S208). The update unit 158 updates the remaining time until the timeout time measured by the timer unit 157 with the remaining time until the timeout time included in the status data (step S209).

[0036] If no status data is received from the server device 13 (step S207: NO), or if updates based on the status data are performed in steps S208 and S209, the update unit 158 updates the timeout display pane P2 based on the remaining time until the timeout time measured by the timer unit 157 (step S210).

[0037] The update unit 158 determines whether the remaining time until the timeout time measured by the timer unit 157 becomes zero (step S211). If the remaining time is zero (step S211: YES), the update unit 158 enables the update button B1 of the timeout display pane P2 (step S212). The update unit 158 also changes the display mode of the last update date and time display pane P3 (step S213).

[0038] Next, the continuation determination unit 159 determines whether or not the update button B1 has been pressed (step S214). If the update button B1 has been pressed (step S214: YES), the status request transmission unit 155 transmits a request to acquire status data of the monitored equipment 11 to the server device 13 (step S215). That is, the status request transmission unit 155 transmits a request indicating the result of the determination made by the continuation determination unit 159 as to whether or not to continue receiving the status data, that is, an acquisition request indicating the result of the determination to continue receiving the status data. Then, if the remaining time until the timeout is not zero in step S211 (step S211: NO), if the update button B1 is not pressed in step S213 (step S213: NO), or if an acquisition request is sent in step S214, the status display device 15 returns the process to step S206.

[0039] The status display device 15 repeats the above process until the equipment status screen shown by the HTML data received in step S202 is closed. According to the status display device 15 of the first embodiment, a request to obtain status data is made only when the script is executed for the first time and when the update button B1 is pressed. As a result, even if the user leaves the status display device 15 with the equipment status screen displayed, the update button B1 is not pressed, and therefore, after a certain timeout period has elapsed since the last time an acquisition request was sent, no status data is transmitted. This enables the status display system 1 to prevent unnecessary data transmission between the monitored equipment 11 and the server device 13.

[0040] Second embodiment In the status display system 1 according to the first embodiment, after the timeout period has elapsed, the monitored equipment 11 stops transmitting status data to the server device 13. In contrast, in the status display system 1 according to the second embodiment, after the timeout period has elapsed, the monitored equipment 11 reduces the frequency with which it transmits status data to the server device 13. For example, the monitored equipment 11 according to the second embodiment may transmit status data every five seconds before the timeout period has elapsed, and transmit status data every minute after the timeout period has elapsed. The acquisition request according to the second embodiment is a request to have status data acquired every first update period during the timeout period, and to have status data acquired every second update period that is longer than the first update period after the timeout period has elapsed.

[0041] The status request transmitting unit 135 of the server device 13 according to the second embodiment transmits a transmission request including the update period before the timeout period has elapsed and the update period after the timeout period has elapsed to the sensing module 111. Furthermore, the setting storage unit 138 of the server device 13 according to the second embodiment may store the update period before the timeout period has elapsed and the update period after the timeout period has elapsed.

[0042] Furthermore, the status display system 1 according to the second embodiment may lengthen the update cycle in stages. For example, the status display system 1 may change the update cycle to 3 seconds when the elapsed time is 60 seconds or less, to 5 seconds when the elapsed time is 120 seconds or less, to 10 seconds when the elapsed time is 180 seconds or less, and to 20 seconds when the elapsed time is 180 seconds or more. Furthermore, the status display system 1 according to other embodiments may set a magnification of the update cycle according to the elapsed ratio of the screen update time.

[0043] (Other embodiments) In the above embodiment, the reception frequency of status data is reduced when the status display device 15 is left alone, but this is not limited to the above. For example, the status display device 15 according to another embodiment may actively accept an instruction to reduce the reception frequency from a user. For example, the status display device 15 according to another embodiment may display an automatic update stop button, and transmit an instruction to stop receiving status data to the server device 13 when the stop button is pressed. When the server device 13 receives the reception stop instruction, it transmits an instruction to stop transmitting status data to the sensing module 111. As a result, the sensing module 111 will no longer transmit status data.

[0044] Similarly, for example, a status display device 15 according to another embodiment may display an automatic update slowdown button, and when the slowdown button is pressed, transmit an instruction to the server device 13 to slow down the transmission cycle of the status data. When the server device 13 receives the slowdown instruction, it transmits an instruction to change the update cycle to the sensing module 111. The update cycle related to the change instruction is longer than the current update cycle. This allows the sensing module 111 to reduce the transmission cycle of the status data.

[0045] In addition, the status display device 15 according to the above embodiment determines to continue receiving the status data by pressing the update button B1, but is not limited to this. For example, the status display device 15 according to another embodiment may determine to continue receiving the status data when the web browser displaying the equipment status screen is active. Also, for example, the status display device 15 according to another embodiment may determine to continue receiving the status data when there is an input to an input device such as a mouse or keyboard. In still another embodiment, the status display device 15 may determine to continue receiving the status data when the web browser is active and there is an input to the input device. According to these, the status display device 15 can automatically determine to continue receiving the status data even if the user does not explicitly press the update button B1.

[0046] Furthermore, the status display device 15 according to the above embodiment allows the update button B1 to be pressed after the timeout period has elapsed, but is not limited to this. For example, the status display device 15 according to another embodiment may allow the update button B1 to be pressed not only after the timeout period has elapsed. If the update button B1 is pressed before the timeout period has elapsed, the status display device 15 transmits an acquisition request to the server device 13 to extend the timeout period.

[0047] Furthermore, while the status display device 15 according to the embodiment described above transmits an acquisition request to the server device 13 when it continues to receive status data, this is not limited to the embodiment. For example, the status display device 15 according to another embodiment may transmit an acquisition stop request to the server device 13 when it does not continue to receive status data, and may not transmit a request to the server device 13 when it continues to receive status data. In this case, the server device 13 does not notify the sensing module 111 of the timeout period, and instructs the sensing module 111 to stop transmitting the status data when the acquisition stop request is received. The continuation determination unit 159 of the status display device 15 determines not to continue receiving the status data if the update button B1 has not been pressed at the time when the timeout period has elapsed. The status request transmission unit 155 transmits an acquisition stop request to the server device 13 when it is determined not to continue receiving the status data. That is, the status request transmission unit 155 transmits a request indicating the determination result by the continuation determination unit 159 as to whether or not to continue receiving the status data, that is, an acquisition stop request indicating the determination result not to continue receiving the status data. On the other hand, the continuation determination unit 159 determines to continue receiving the status data if the update button B1 is pressed before the timeout period has elapsed. At this time, the update unit 158 resets the measurement of the timeout period, and the status request transmission unit 155 does not transmit a request to the server device 13.

[0048] Furthermore, the status display device 15 according to the above embodiment obtains an equipment status screen as a web page from the server device 13, but is not limited to this.
