Description

[Technical field]

[0001] The present disclosure relates to the field of communication technologies, and in particular to a transmission configuration state activation method, apparatus, and storage medium. [Background technology]

[0002] In a New Radio (NR) communication system, data transmission is usually required to be based on a beam in order to guarantee coverage and resist path loss. In the data transmission based on a beam, a network device (e.g., a base station) indicates a transmission configuration indication (TCI) state through signaling, and further indicates a receiving beam or a transmitting beam of a terminal.

[0003] In the related art, a network device determines multiple TCI states based on measurement results reported by a terminal, and notifies the terminal of the multiple TCI states through Radio Resource Control (RRC) signaling. Then, for each component carrier (CC), i.e., serving cell / bandwidth part (BWP), it indicates the TCI states that need to be activated in the multiple TCI states through a Medium Access Control (MAC) control unit (Control Element, CE). If there are many serving cells / BWPs configured by a terminal, the base station needs to send multiple MAC CE signaling to activate the TCI state configuration on each serving cell / BWP, which leads to a large signaling overhead. [0046] Exemplary embodiments will now be described in detail, examples of which are illustrated in the drawings. Where the following description refers to the drawings, the same numerals in different drawings represent the same or similar elements unless otherwise stated. The embodiments described in the following exemplary embodiments do not represent all embodiments consistent with the present disclosure. Rather, they are merely examples of apparatus and methods consistent with some aspects of the present disclosure, as set forth in the appended claims.

[0047] The TCI state activation method provided by the embodiment of the present disclosure can be applied to the wireless communication system shown in Figure 1. As shown in Figure 1, the wireless communication system includes a network device and a terminal. The terminal is connected to the network device through a wireless resource and performs data transmission.

[0048] The wireless communication system illustrated in Fig. 1 is only a schematic description, and the wireless communication system may further include other network devices (not illustrated in Fig. 1), such as a core network device, a wireless relay device, and a wireless forwarding device. The embodiment of the present disclosure does not limit the number of network devices and the number of terminals included in the wireless communication system.

[0049] Furthermore, the wireless communication system of the embodiment of the present disclosure is a network that provides wireless communication functions. The wireless communication system may adopt different communication technologies, such as code division multiple access (CDMA), wideband code division multiple access (WCDMA), time division multiple access (TDMA), frequency division multiple access (FDMA), orthogonal frequency-division multiple access (OFDMA), single carrier frequency division multiple access (SC-FDMA), and carrier sense multiple access with collision avoidance (Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Avoidance). Based on factors such as capacity, speed, and time lag of different networks, the network may be divided into 2G (English: generation) network, 3G network, 4G network, or future evolution network such as 5G network, and 5G network may be referred to as New Radio (NR) network. For ease of explanation, the present disclosure may abbreviate the wireless communication network as network.

[0050] Further, the network device according to the present disclosure may also be referred to as a radio access network device. The radio access network device may be a base station, an evolved base station (evolved node B), a home base station, an access point (AP) in a wireless fidelity (WIFI) system, a radio relay node, a radio backhaul node, a transmission point (TP) or a transmission and reception point (TRP), etc., in a gNB in an NR system, or may be a component or a part of a device constituting a base station. It should be understood that the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited to a specific technology and a specific device form adopted by the network device. In the present disclosure, the network device provides communication coverage for a specific geographical area and can communicate with a terminal located within the communication coverage area (cell). In addition, in the case of a vehicle Internet (V2X) communication system, the network device may be an in-vehicle device.

[0051] Furthermore, the terminal according to the present disclosure may also be referred to as a terminal device, user equipment (UE), mobile station (MS), mobile terminal (MT), etc., and is a device for providing voice and / or data connectivity to a user. For example, the terminal may be a handheld device having a wireless connection function, an in-vehicle device, etc. Currently, some examples of terminals include a mobile phone, a pocket personal computer (PPC), a handheld computer, a personal digital assistant (PDA), a notebook computer, a tablet computer, a wearable device, or an in-vehicle device. In addition, in the case of a vehicle network (V2X) communication system, the terminal device may be an in-vehicle device. It should be understood that the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited to a specific technology adopted by the terminal and a specific device form.

[0052] In NR, especially when the communication frequency band is in frequency range 2, high-frequency channels attenuate quickly, so beam-based transmission and reception is required between the terminal and the network device to ensure coverage.

[0053] In the related art, the beam management process of the physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) or physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) in the downlink (DL) is as follows. When the random access of the terminal and the network device is completed and the RRC connection is established, the terminal performs measurement according to the measurement configuration of the network device, and the measurement result of the beam reported to the network device includes the reference signal (RS) type and RS index of the beam, and the layer 1 reference signal receiving power (L1-Reference Signal Receiving Power, L1-RSRP) or the signal to interference & noise ratio (L1-SINR) of the layer 1. The network device determines multiple TCI states based on the measurement results reported from the terminal. The TCI state includes an identifier (ID) of the TCI state, and an RS type and RS index corresponding to the TCI state. Currently, the number of TCI states is up to 64. The network device notifies the terminal of these 64 TCI states through RRC signaling, including the TCI state ID and the corresponding RS type and RS index. The TCI state is as shown in Table 1 below, and the terminal can determine the receiving beam according to the TCI state.

[0054] [Table 1]

[0055] For PDCCH, the network device activates one of 64 TCI states using MAC CE and indicates it to the terminal. For PDSCH, the network device activates a TCI state set (8 TCI states out of 64 TCI states) using MAC CE and indicates it to the terminal. The network device reuses Downlink Control Information (DCI) signaling to indicate one of the 8 activated TCI states to the terminal for the terminal to receive PDSCH. The TCI state of PDSCH scheduled in DCI signaling is to inform the terminal that the receiving beam used when receiving the PDSCH is the same as the receiving beam used when the received signal is strongest when the terminal receives the RS in the TCI state.

[0056] In the related art, a separate MAC CE is used for each CC / BWP to activate the TCI state. In a multiple CC / BWP scenario, a separate MAC CE is used for each CC / BWP to activate the TCI state, which results in large signaling overhead.

[0057] In view of this, the present disclosure provides a TCI state activation method, which activates the TCI states of PDCCHs on all CCs / BWPs on the same frequency band or a set of TCI states of PDSCHs on all CCs / BWPs on the same frequency band via one MAC CE.

[0058] FIG. 2 is a flowchart of a TCI state activation method according to an exemplary embodiment. As shown in FIG. 2, the TCI state activation method is used in a network device and includes the following steps S11 and S12.

[0059] In step S11, one serving cell that supports MAC CE transmission is selected from among all serving cells on the same band of the terminal.

[0060] In the present disclosure, multiple serving cells (i.e., CCs) are configured in the same band for a certain terminal, and each serving cell also has one initial bandwidth part (initial BWP) or active bandwidth part (active BWP). In the present disclosure, a network device selects one serving cell that supports MAC CE transmission from all serving cells on the same band, and activates the TCI state using MAC CE signaling on the initial BWP or active BWP of the terminal on the selected serving cell.

[0061] In the present disclosure, when the network device selects a serving cell, on the one hand, the network device randomly selects one serving cell among all serving cells on the same band of the terminal, or selects a designated serving cell among all serving cells on the same band of the terminal. In the present disclosure, the designated serving cell selected by the network device is, for example, a serving cell with the lowest carrier frequency among all serving cells on the same band, or the designated serving cell selected by the network device is a primary secondary cell (PSCell) or a primary cell (PCell) among all serving cells on the same band, or the designated serving cell selected by the network device is a serving cell that detects a channel to be idle in an unlicensed spectrum, and when the frequency band is an unlicensed frequency band, the network device needs to perform a listen-before-talk channel detection process for each serving cell of the terminal on the frequency band, and only the serving cell that detects a channel to be idle can be used for transmission, so the designated serving cell must be a serving cell that detects a channel to be idle.

[0062] In this disclosure, a network device activates a TCI state via MAC CE signaling sent from one serving cell, and the TCI state activated by the MAC CE may be a TCI state of a PDCCH or a TCI state set of a PDSCH.

[0063] In one embodiment, the network device needs to notify the terminal of all TCI states (e.g., 64 TCI states) in advance. For example, the network device notifies the terminal of all TCI states in advance based on RRC signaling. The TCI state activated via MAC CE signaling is one TCI state or a set of TCI states among all TCI states.

[0064] In step S12, send MAC CE signaling to activate the TCI state using the selected serving cell.

[0065] In the present disclosure, a network device can select one serving cell from all serving cells on the same band of a terminal and send MAC CE signaling to activate the TCI states of all serving cells, thereby reducing signaling overhead.

[0066] FIG. 3 is a flowchart of a TCI state activation method according to an exemplary embodiment. As shown in FIG. 3, the TCI state activation method is applied to a terminal, and includes the following steps S21 and S22.

[0067] In step S21, receive MAC CE signaling to activate the TCI state.

[0068] In the present disclosure, multiple serving cells, i.e., CCs, are configured in the same band for a certain terminal, and each serving cell also has one initial bandwidth portion (initial BWP) or active bandwidth portion (active BWP). According to one aspect of the present disclosure, a terminal determines a serving cell that supports reception and transmission of MAC CE signaling, receives MAC CE signaling via the determined serving cell, and receives MAC CE signaling using the initial BWP or active BWP of the determined serving cell.

[0069] The terminal determines a serving cell for receiving MAC CE signaling in one of the following manners: Receives MAC CE transmitted from all serving cells for supporting MAC CE transmission in all serving cells on the same frequency band of the terminal; Or, sets a serving cell preconfigured for the terminal based on the network device as the serving cell for receiving MAC CE signaling; Or, sets a primary secondary cell or a primary cell or a serving cell with the lowest carrier frequency or an unlicensed spectrum cell that has been detected as having an idle channel as the serving cell for receiving MAC CE signaling by default in all serving cells on the same frequency band.

[0070] In the present disclosure, the MAC CE signaling received by the terminal activates a TCI state, which may be a TCI state of a PDCCH or a TCI state set of a PDSCH.

[0071] In step S22, the TCI state activated by the received MAC CE is set as the TCI state of all serving cells on the same band.

[0072] In one example of the present disclosure, the terminal receives RRC signaling sent from the network device in advance, and determines all TCI states according to the RRC signaling. After receiving MAC CE signaling, the terminal sets the TCI state activated by the MAC CE as the TCI state of the PDCCH of all serving cells on the same band, or sets the TCI state set activated by the MAC CE as the TCI state set of the PDSCH of all serving cells on the same band.

[0073] In the present disclosure, a terminal receives a MAC CE and sets the TCI state activated by the received MAC CE as the TCI state of all serving cells on the same band, thereby reducing signaling overhead.

[0074] Furthermore, in this disclosure, the terminal needs to determine all serving cells on the same band.

[0075] In one embodiment, in the present disclosure, a network device transmits a configuration message in advance to inform a terminal of the bandwidth and carrier frequency location of each serving cell in all serving cells, and the terminal determines all serving cells on the same band according to the bandwidth and carrier frequency location of each serving cell.

[0076] FIG. 4 is a method flowchart for determining all serving cells on the same band according to an exemplary embodiment. As shown in FIG. 4, the method for determining all serving cells on the same band is used in a network device and includes step S31.

[0077] In step S31, a configuration message is sent to all serving cells of the terminal, indicating the bandwidth and carrier frequency location of each serving cell.

[0078] In one example of the present disclosure, the network device transmits the configuration message based on a system message and / or RRC signaling.

[0079] Furthermore, in the present disclosure, after the network device transmits the configuration message, the network device may select a serving cell and transmit MAC CE signaling. In the present disclosure, the network device may select a serving cell and transmit MAC CE signaling, and may not necessarily transmit the configuration message every time the network device selects a serving cell and transmits MAC CE signaling. The network device may transmit the configuration message every time, or may transmit the configuration message only once.

[0080] In the present disclosure, a network device sends a configuration message to a terminal indicating the bandwidth and carrier frequency location of each serving cell in all serving cells of the terminal, so that the terminal can determine all serving cells in the same band.

[0081] FIG. 5 is a flowchart of a method for determining all serving cells on the same band according to an exemplary embodiment. As shown in FIG. 5, the method for determining all serving cells on the same band is used in a terminal and includes steps S41 to S42.

[0082] In step S41, a configuration message is received in all serving cells of the terminal, indicating the bandwidth and carrier frequency location of each serving cell.

[0083] The configuration message includes system information and / or a serving cell configuration message, and if it is a primary cell, its bandwidth and carrier frequency location are obtained by the terminal receiving system information, and if it is a secondary cell, they are obtained by a secondary serving cell configuration message sent from the primary cell.

[0084] In one example of the present disclosure, the terminal receives the configuration message based on system information and / or RRC signaling.

[0085] In step S42, all serving cells in the same band are determined based on the bandwidth and carrier frequency position of each serving cell.

[0086] Furthermore, in the present disclosure, after receiving a terminal configuration message and determining all serving cells of the same band, a step of receiving MAC CE signaling for activating the TCI state and setting the TCI state activated by the MAC CE signaling as the TCI state of all serving cells of the same band can be executed. In the present disclosure, it is not limited whether or not to execute the step of receiving a configuration message and determining all serving cells of the same band every time the terminal receives MAC CE signaling and sets the TCI state activated by the MAC CE signaling as the TCI state of all serving cells of the same band, and the step of receiving a configuration message and determining all serving cells of the same band may be executed every time, or the step of receiving a configuration message and determining all serving cells of the same band may be executed only once.

[0087] In the present disclosure, the terminal receives a configuration message transmitted from a network device to indicate the bandwidth and carrier frequency location of each serving cell in all serving cells of the terminal, determines all serving cells in the same band, and further uses the TCI state activated by the received MAC CE for the TCI state of all serving cells in the same band, thereby saving signaling overhead.

[0088] Furthermore, in the present disclosure, when it is necessary to update the activated TCI state, for example, when the terminal channel conditions change (a new TCI state is determined based on measurement results fed back from the terminal), a BWP switch occurs in the terminal, a secondary cell (SCell) switch occurs in the terminal, a PCell or PSCell switch occurs in the terminal, a PCell or PScell link failure occurs in the terminal, and a serving cell beam failure occurs in the terminal (beam failure), the MAC CE with the activated TCI state can be retransmitted via the network device.

[0089] In this disclosure, in order to distinguish between different MAC CE and TCI states before and after updating and to update the serving cell of the MAC CE, the MAC CE before the update is referred to as the first MAC CE. The TCI state activated by the first MAC CE is referred to as the first TCI state. The serving cell selected to transmit the first MAC CE is referred to as the first serving cell. The MAC CE related when performing the TCI state update is referred to as the second MAC CE. The TCI state activated by the second MAC CE is referred to as the second TCI state. The serving cell selected for the second MAC CE is referred to as the second serving cell.

[0090] FIG. 6 is a flowchart of a TCI state activation method according to an exemplary embodiment. As shown in FIG. 6, the TCI state activation method is used in a network device, and includes steps S51 to S54, where steps S51, S52, S53 are the same as step S31, and steps S32 and S33 are the same as step S31, and the present disclosure will not be described in detail here.

[0091] In step S54, send a second MAC CE signaling, where the second MAC CE signaling activates a second TCI state.

[0092] In the present disclosure, before transmitting the second MAC CE signaling, the network device needs to confirm that the TCI state needs to be updated, i.e., the second TCI state needs to be activated. The second TCI state needs to be activated if any one or combination of the following events occurs: the terminal channel condition changes (determined based on the measurement result fed back from the terminal), the terminal experiences a BWP switch, the terminal experiences a secondary cell (SCell) switch, the terminal experiences a PCell or PSCell switch, the terminal experiences a PCell or PScell link failure, and the terminal experiences a serving cell beam failure.

[0093] In the present disclosure, when the terminal needs to perform a TCI state update, the network device retransmits a new MAC CE signaling (second MAC CE signaling) to activate a new TCI state, and facilitates the terminal to perform the TCI state update.

[0094] In the present disclosure, after the network device sends a second MAC CE signaling to the terminal, when the terminal receives the MAC CE signaling, the network device can update the first TCI state to the second TCI state activated by the second MAC CE signaling.

[0095] However, when a BWP switch, a secondary cell (SCell) switch, a PCell or PSCell switch, a PCell or PSCell link failure, and a serving cell beam failure occur in the UE, how the UE processes the TCI state is a problem to be solved. Hereinafter, the present disclosure will exemplarily describe such cases.

[0096] Case 1: BWP switching occurs

[0097] 7 is a flowchart of a TCI state activation method according to an exemplary embodiment. As shown in FIG 7, the TCI state activation method is applied to a terminal and includes steps S61 to S69.

[0098] In step S61, a configuration message is received in all serving cells of the terminal, indicating the bandwidth and carrier frequency location of each serving cell.

[0099] In step S62, all serving cells in the same band are determined based on the bandwidth and carrier frequency position of each serving cell.

[0100] In step S63, determine one first serving cell in all serving cells, and receive a first MAC CE signaling for activating a first TCI state using the initial BWP or active BWP of the first serving cell.

[0101] In step S64, the first TCI state activated by the first MAC CE signaling is set as the TCI state of all serving cells in the same band.

[0102] In step S65, it is determined that a BWP switch has occurred, and it is determined whether a second MAC CE signaling for activating a second TCI state sent from the network device has been received.

[0103] In the present disclosure, if a BWP switch occurs in any serving cell among all serving cells in the same band, it is determined that a BWP switch has occurred. In the present disclosure, the occurrence of a BWP switch in a terminal can be understood as the terminal receiving a newly scheduled BWP by a network device and switching from the original BWP to the newly scheduled BWP.

[0104] In the present disclosure, the first TCI state activated by the first MAC CE signaling is a TCI state of the PDCCH or a TCI state set of the PDSCH, and correspondingly, the second TCI state activated by the second MAC CE signaling is a TCI state of the PDCCH or a TCI state set of the PDSCH.

[0105] In the present disclosure, if the terminal does not receive second MAC CE signaling for activating a second TCI state sent from a network device and the first TCI state activated by the first MAC CE signaling is a TCI state set of a PDCCH, the terminal performs step S66. In the present disclosure, if the terminal does not receive second MAC CE signaling for activating a second TCI state sent from a network device and the first TCI state activated by the first MAC CE signaling is a TCI state set of a PDSCH, the terminal performs steps S67 and S68.

[0106] In step S66, in the post-switching BWP, the PDCCH transmitted in the post-switching BWP is received using the first TCI state.

[0107] In step S67, DCI signaling is received.

[0108] In the present disclosure, the received DCI signaling indicates one TCI state among the first TCI states, however, the DCI signaling is received in a BWP before the switch in the serving cell, or is received in a BWP after the switch in the serving cell, or is received in a BWP in another serving cell (e.g., in case of cross-carrier scheduling). If the first TCI state is a TCI state set of PDSCH, the received DCI signaling indicates one TCI state in the TCI state set.

[0109] In step S68, the PDSCH transmitted in the switched BWP is received using the TCI state indicated by the DCI.

[0110] In the present disclosure, when the terminal receives a second MAC CE signaling for activating a second TCI state sent from the network device, it performs step S69.

[0111] In step S69, the first TCI state activated by the first MAC CE signaling is updated to a second TCI state activated by the second MAC CE signaling.

[0112] In the present disclosure, when any serving cell BWP switching of the terminal occurs, the network device schedules RBs on the new BWP and transmits PDSCH to the terminal, and if there is no new MAC signaling to activate a new TCI state (or TCI state set) during this time, for PDCCH, the terminal receives the PDCCH transmitted in the new BWP based on the TCI state of the PDCCH on the BWP activated by MAC signaling before in the new BWP. However, for the TCI state set of the PDSCH, the TCI state set of the PDSCH on the BWP activated by MAC signaling before is also used. However, receiving DCI signaling of the PDSCH indicating one TCI state in the TCI state set activated by MAC signaling may be transmitted by the BWP before switching, may be transmitted by the new BWP after the terminal switches to the new BWP, or may be transmitted by the BWP on another serving cell in the case of cross-carrier scheduling. The terminal determines the TCI state for receiving the PDSCH on the new BWP by combining the DCI signaling for scheduling the PDSCH on the new BWP with the TCI state set activated by the original MAC signaling, until a new PDCCH TCI state or a new PDSCH TCI state set reactivated by new MAC signaling appears.

[0113] Case 2: SCell switching occurs

[0114] 8 is a flowchart of a TCI state activation method according to an exemplary embodiment. As shown in FIG 8, the TCI state activation method is applied to a terminal and includes steps S71 to S76.

[0115] In step S71, a configuration message is received in all serving cells of the terminal, indicating the bandwidth and carrier frequency location of each serving cell.

[0116] In step S72, all serving cells in the same band are determined based on the bandwidth and carrier frequency position of each serving cell.

[0117] In step S73, determine one first serving cell in all serving cells, and receive a first MAC CE signaling for activating a first TCI state using the initial BWP or active BWP of the first serving cell.

[0118] In step S74, the first TCI state activated by the first MAC CE signaling is set as the TCI state of all serving cells in the same band.

[0119] In step S75, it is determined that a SCell switch has occurred.

[0120] In the present disclosure, a terminal determines that a switch has occurred to any one of all SCells in the same band, and that a SCell switch has occurred.

[0121] In step S76, the first TCI state on the SCell before switching is reused in the SCell after switching.

[0122] In the present disclosure, the first TCI state activated by the first MAC CE signaling is a TCI state of the PDCCH or a TCI state set of the PDSCH, and correspondingly, the second TCI state activated by the second MAC CE signaling is a TCI state of the PDCCH or a TCI state set of the PDSCH.

[0123] In the present disclosure, when an SCell switching occurs in the same band, the switched SCell also needs to reuse the PDCCH TCI state and PDSCH TCI state set activated by the first MAC CE signaling on the original SCell.

[0124] Case 3: PSCell or PCell switching occurs

[0125] 9 is a flowchart of a TCI state activation method according to an exemplary embodiment. As shown in FIG 9, the TCI state activation method is applied to a terminal and includes steps S81 to S86.

[0126] In step S81, a configuration message is received in all serving cells of the terminal, indicating the bandwidth and carrier frequency location of each serving cell.

[0127] In step S82, all serving cells in the same band are determined based on the bandwidth and carrier frequency position of each serving cell.

[0128] In step S83, determine one first serving cell in all serving cells, and receive a first MAC CE signaling for activating a first TCI state using the initial BWP or active BWP of the first serving cell.

[0129] In step S84, the first TCI state activated by the first MAC CE signaling is set as the TCI state of all serving cells in the same band.

[0130] In step S85, it is determined that a PSCell or PCell switch has occurred.

[0131] In step S86, receive the second MAC CE signaling, and update the first TCI states of all serving cells to the second TCI states activated by the second MAC CE signaling.

[0132] In the present disclosure, the first TCI state activated by the first MAC CE signaling is a TCI state of the PDCCH or a TCI state set of the PDSCH, and correspondingly, the second TCI state activated by the second MAC CE signaling is a TCI state of the PDCCH or a TCI state set of the PDSCH.

[0133] In the present disclosure, when a switch occurs to a PSCell or PCell in the same band, the TCI state needs to be reconfigured, and therefore the TCI state of all CC / BWPs on that band needs to be updated, i.e., the TCI state needs to be reconfigured using new RRC signaling, MAC CE signaling, etc.

[0134] Case 4: Beam failure occurs

[0135] 10 is a flowchart of a TCI state activation method according to an exemplary embodiment. As shown in FIG 10, the TCI state activation method is applied to a terminal and includes steps S91 to S96.

[0136] In step S91, a configuration message is received in all serving cells of the terminal, indicating the bandwidth and carrier frequency location of each serving cell.

[0137] In step S92, all serving cells in the same band are determined based on the bandwidth and carrier frequency position of each serving cell.

[0138] In step S93, determine one first serving cell in all serving cells, and receive a first MAC CE signaling for activating a first TCI state using the initial BWP or active BWP of the first serving cell.

[0139] In step S94, the first TCI state activated by the first MAC CE signaling is set as the TCI state of all serving cells in the same band.

[0140] In step S95, it is determined that there is a serving cell in which a beam failure has occurred, and the TCI state of the serving cell in which the beam failure has occurred is re-determined.

[0141] In the present disclosure, when a beam failure occurs in one serving cell in the same band, this corresponds to the need to update the TCI state of the PDCCH on the corresponding SCell, and the TCI state is re-determined when the terminal receives the TCI state of the PDCCH on the corresponding SCell or the TCI state set of the PDSCH.

[0142] The TCI state of the PDCCH may be determined by the terminal itself through measurement. For example, on the one hand, when the terminal detects that an SSB for discovering a new beam has a high RSRP and / or SINR, the terminal transmits a corresponding random access preamble on a physical random access channel (PRACH) corresponding to the SSB, so that the network device can determine whether it is appropriate to transmit a PDCCH to the terminal using the same beam as the SSB, or to transmit a PDSCH. On the other hand, the terminal may report a measurement result to the network device through measurement, or report a selected new beam ID to the network device, and then the network device may transmit a PDCCH or a PDSCH to the terminal using one or more of the one or more reported from the terminal.

[0143] In step S96, it is determined whether a second MAC CE signaling for activating a second TCI state sent from the network device is received.

[0144] If the terminal has not received the second TCI state activated by the second MAC CE, execute step S97. If the terminal has received the second TCI state activated by the second MAC CE, execute step S98.

[0145] In step S97, the TCI states of all serving cells other than the serving cell in which the beam failure occurred are updated to the TCI states redetermined by the serving cell in which the beam failure occurred, or the TCI states of all serving cells other than the serving cell in which the beam failure occurred are maintained.

[0146] In step S98, the first TCI state activated by the first MAC CE signaling is updated to a second TCI state activated by the second MAC CE signaling.

[0147] In the present disclosure, when a beam failure occurs in one serving cell in the same band, the terminal re-determines the TCI state of the PDCCH or the TCI state set of the PDSCH on the SCell. The TCI state of the PDCCH may be determined by the terminal through measurement. In this case, since it is not MAC CE signaling that reactivates a new TCI state for the SCell in which the beam failure occurs, the serving cells other than the serving cell in which the beam failure occurs in the band may have two options. One is to continue to use the TCI state or TCI state set activated by the previous MAC signaling. The other is to use the same TCI state as the serving cell of the beam failure. When the base station uses new MAC signaling to activate a new TCI state for the serving cell in which the beam failure occurs, all serving cells in the same band, i.e., CC / BWP, use the TCI state activated by the new MAC.

[0148] Case 5: Link failure occurs

[0149] The occurrence of a link failure in the UE indicates that the TCI state of the PDCCH of the UE's PCell or PSCell needs to be updated. In this case, there may be two ways for the TCI state of a serving cell other than the PCell or PSCell before receiving the second TCI state activated by the second MAC CE. One is to continue to use the first TCI state activated by the first MAC CE. The other is to use the same TCI state as the TCI state in the redetermined PCell or PSCell.

[0150] 11 is a flowchart of a TCI state activation method according to an exemplary embodiment. As shown in FIG 11, the TCI state activation method is used for interaction between a terminal and a network device, and includes steps S101 to S109.

[0151] In step S101, the network device selects one first serving cell from among all serving cells on the same band of the terminal, and the selected first serving cell supports transmission of MAC CE signaling.

[0152] In step S102, the network device uses the selected one first serving cell to send a first MAC CE signaling for activating a first TCI state. The terminal receives the first MAC CE.

[0153] In step S103, the network device sends a configuration message indicating the bandwidth and carrier frequency location of each serving cell in all serving cells of the terminal. The terminal receives the configuration message sent from the network device.

[0154] In step S104, the terminal determines all serving cells in the same band according to the bandwidth and carrier frequency location of each serving cell in the configuration message.

[0155] In the present disclosure, steps S103 and S104 are optional steps, and steps S103 and S104 may occur before step S101. For example, if the terminal adopts a predefined scheme to determine all serving cells in the same band, it does not need to perform steps S103 and S104.

[0156] In step S105, the terminal sets the first TCI state as the TCI state of all serving cells on the same band.

[0157] In the present disclosure, after the terminal sets the first TCI state as the TCI state of all serving cells on the same band, the actual application scenario may include the following steps.

[0158] In step S106a, if it is determined that a BWP switching has occurred in any serving cell and no second MAC CE signaling has been received, in the switched BWP, the physical downlink control channel transmitted in the switched BWP is received using the first TCI state. If the second MAC CE signaling has been received, the first TCI state is updated to the second TCI state.

[0159] In step S106b, if it is determined that a BWP switch has occurred in any serving cell and no second MAC CE signaling has been received, receive a DCI indicating one of the first TCI states; receive a physical downlink shared channel transmitted in the switched BWP using the TCI state indicated by the DCI; and update the first TCI state to the second TCI state if the second MAC CE signaling has been received.

[0160] If it is determined in step S107 that a SCell switching has occurred, the first TCI state on the SCell before the switching is reused in the SCell after the switching.

[0161] In step S108, if it is determined that a PCell or PSCell switch has occurred, receive second MAC CE signaling, and update the first TCI states of all serving cells to the second TCI states activated by the second MAC CE signaling.

[0162] In step S109, if it is determined that there is a serving cell in which a beam failure has occurred, the TCI state of the serving cell in which the beam failure has occurred is redetermined. If the second TCI state activated by the second MAC CE signaling is not received, the TCI states of the serving cells other than the serving cell in which the beam failure has occurred in all serving cells are updated to the TCI state redetermined by the serving cell in which the beam failure has occurred, or the TCI states of the serving cells other than the serving cell in which the beam failure has occurred in all serving cells are maintained as they are. If the second MAC CE signaling is received, the first TCI state is updated to the second TCI state.

[0163] In the TCI state activation method in the interaction between a terminal and a network device of the present disclosure, the terminal and the network device respectively have the method in TCI state activation performed for the terminal and the network device according to the above embodiment of the present disclosure.
