Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] The present invention relates to a flush toilet, and more particularly to a flush toilet that is flushed with flush water to expel waste. [Background technology]
[0002] Conventionally, as a flush toilet that is flushed with flushing water to expel waste, there has been known a flush toilet known as a "full skirt type" or "full skirt type" in which a skirt section is formed outside the respective sides of the bowl section and the drain trap section of the ceramic toilet body, and which extends around the entire circumference of the toilet body, as described in Patent Documents 1-3, for example. In such conventional "full skirt type" or "full skirt type" flush toilets, a functional part is provided which includes the function of controlling the discharge and stopping of flush water into the bowl portion of the toilet body, and this functional part is stored in a storage area rearward of the bowl portion of the toilet body.
[0003] Next, in the conventional flush toilet described in Patent Document 1 mentioned above, a water supply hose, one end of which is connected to a functional section in the rear area of the toilet body, is inserted downward through an opening in the rear wall of the toilet body, and the other end of the water supply hose is connected to a stop valve provided on the floor surface. Furthermore, in the conventional flush toilet described in Patent Document 2 mentioned above, a through-hole is provided that penetrates vertically through a support wall that divides the area behind the bowl part of the toilet body into upper and lower areas. Components stored in the upper and lower areas divided vertically by the support wall are connected via the through-hole. Furthermore, the conventional flush toilet described in Patent Document 3 above is equipped with a sheath pipe that functions as a water supply hose that supplies flushing water or a wiring hose through which wiring for power supply is inserted. One end of this sheath pipe is connected to a functional part in the rear area of the toilet body, and is inserted into a space in a double wall part provided in a side wall part of the toilet body, and then extends from the lower space of the toilet body where the outlet part of the drain trap part is located to the outside of the toilet body. The other end of the sheath pipe is connected to an external stop valve through the lower space of the toilet body when it functions as a water supply hose, and is connected to an external power source through the lower space of the toilet body when it functions as a wiring hose. [0004] [Patent Document 1] JP 2008-267026 A [Patent Document 2] JP 2014-114632 A [Patent Document 3] JP 2017-89282 A Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]
[0005] Meanwhile, in recent years, with the diversification of flush toilet designs and improvements in the aesthetic appeal of flush toilets, there has been a demand for ways to effectively utilize the area behind the bowl of the toilet body as a storage area for functional parts, while simultaneously reducing (slimming) the external dimensions of the entire toilet body. Furthermore, for example, in conventional flush toilets, flexible elongated members are used as the water supply hoses and wiring hoses connected to the functional part, and such flexible elongated members are made of a relatively hard and elastic material from the standpoint of durability, etc. For this reason, when installing the flexible elongated member within the narrow storage area of the functional part of the toilet body, if the flexible elongated member is bent and subjected to abrupt bending deformation, etc., kinking is likely to occur, creating the problem that it is difficult to handle the flexible elongated member within the storage area of the functional part.
[0006] Furthermore, in conventional flush toilets, the functional part is positioned relatively high up within the storage area at the rear of the toilet body, but the challenge is to store the functional part as far as possible within the storage area of the toilet body so as to prevent the unexpected intrusion of waste and other materials into the functional part and to make the functional part difficult to see from the outside of the toilet body, also from the standpoint of the aesthetic design of the flush toilet. In addition, with regard to the water supply hose and wiring hose connected to the functional part, the connection part with the functional part is located relatively high up within the storage area of the toilet body, while the upstream side of the water supply hose and the power source side of the wiring hose are connected to a water or electricity supply source (such as a stop valve or power source) located outside, below, the toilet body. From the perspective of not compromising the aesthetic appeal and other design features of the flush toilet, the issue is how to conceal the intermediate paths of the water supply hose and wiring hose within the limited storage area of the toilet body. Furthermore, with regard to the supply source side of the water supply hose and wiring hose, there is the issue of how to extend them from insertion holes below the toilet body to the external supply source, and there is also the issue of how to make the size of the insertion hole below the toilet body as small as possible so that the internal functional parts are not visible. Furthermore, from the standpoint of the fire resistance of the functional parts and elongated members, when considering, for example, a fire breaking out from behind the wall behind the toilet body or from under the floor below the toilet body, an issue is how to isolate the storage area that houses the functional parts from the area below this storage area (especially the area where the outlet of the drain trap is located, which is easily flammable from the drain pipe side extending from the back of the wall or under the floor).
[0007] Therefore, the present invention has been made to solve the problems and desired issues of the prior art mentioned above, and has an object to provide a flush toilet that can improve the handleability and fire resistance of the flexible, elongated member that connects the supply source that enables the supply of water or power to the functional part, as well as improving the design of the flush toilet as a whole. [Means for solving the problem]
[0008] In order to solve the above-mentioned problems, the present invention provides a flush toilet that is flushed with flushing water to discharge waste, the flush toilet having a ceramic toilet body including a bowl portion that receives waste, a drain trap portion including an inlet portion connected below the bowl portion and an outlet portion for discharging waste within the bowl portion, and a skirt portion formed on the outside of the bowl portion and the drain trap portion, a functional portion that is provided rearward of the bowl portion of the toilet body and has at least the function of controlling the discharge and stopping of flushing water into the bowl portion, a supply source that is provided below the functional portion and outside the toilet body and enables water or power to be supplied to at least the functional portion, and a flexible, elongated member that connects the supply source to the functional portion, the ceramic toilet body further comprising a rear functional storage portion that is capable of storing at least a portion of the functional portion, the rear functional storage portion dividing the area of the toilet body rearward of the bowl portion into upper and lower areas and supporting the functional portion. The toilet comprises a wall portion, an upper storage area formed in an area above the support wall portion and in which at least a part of the functional portion is stored, a lower area formed in an area below the support wall portion so as to be isolated from the upper storage area and in which an outlet portion of the drain trap portion is disposed, and a lower communication area formed adjacent to and isolated from the lower area, wherein the lower communication area allows communication between the upper storage area and the outside of the toilet body without communicating with the lower area, and the flexible elongated member has an upper connection end connected to the functional portion and a lower connection end connected to the supply source, and is inserted from the upper storage area into the lower communication area by extending from the upper connection end toward the lower connection end, and then extends from the lower communication area to the outside of the toilet body without passing through the lower area, and the lower connection end is connected to the supply source. In the present invention configured in this manner, the flexible elongated member extends from an upper connection end connected to the functional part of the upper storage area of the rear functional storage part toward a lower connection end, and this flexible elongated member can be inserted from the upper storage area of the rear functional storage part into the lower communication area without passing through the lower area and without being bent or sharply curved. The elongated member inserted into this lower communication area can then be smoothly extended from the lower communication area to the outside of the toilet body without passing through the lower area of the rear functional storage section, and the lower connection end of the elongated member can be connected to the supply source. As a result, most of the intermediate portion of the path of the flexible, elongated member connecting the functional part and the supply source can be concealed within the upper storage area and lower communication area of the rear functional storage part, thereby improving the design of the appearance of the flush toilet. In addition, by inserting the flexible elongated member from the upper storage area through the lower communication area without passing through the lower area, it is possible to improve the ease of handling of the elongated member within the limited space of the rear functional storage area of the toilet body while suppressing deformation load on the path of the elongated member between the functional unit and the supply source, and therefore it is also possible to suppress permanent deformation or damage to the flexible elongated member due to, for example, kinking. Furthermore, the improved maneuverability of the flexible, elongated member allows the rear functional storage section of the toilet body to be made smaller, making it possible to reduce the size of the entire flush toilet while improving its design. In addition, from the standpoint of fire prevention, for example, in the unlikely event that a fire breaks out behind the wall behind the toilet body or in the peripheral area under the floor below the toilet body, even if the fire spreads from behind the wall or under the floor to the flammable space in the lower area of the rear functional storage section of the toilet body or downstream of the outlet of the drain trap section, the upper storage area and lower connecting area are each isolated from the lower area. This reduces the risk of a fire in the lower area spreading to the functional parts of the upper storage area or the elongated members in the lower communication area, ensuring the fire resistance of the functional parts and the elongated members.
[0009] In the present invention, preferably, the skirt portion has a rear wall portion and a side wall portion which respectively form the rear surface and the side surface of the skirt portion, and at least a part of the side wall portion or the rear wall portion of the skirt portion forms a double wall portion having an outer wall portion which forms the outer surface of the skirt portion and an inner wall portion which is provided on the inside of the outer wall portion, and at least a part of the double wall portion forms a double-walled chamber in the lower communication area of the rear functional storage portion between the outer wall portion and the inner wall portion, and the inner wall portion of the double-walled chamber which forms the double-walled chamber has a penetrating portion which is penetrating so as to be able to communicate between the upper storage area and the inside of the double-walled chamber. An inner communicating hole is formed, and an outer communicating hole is formed in the outer wall portion of the double wall portion forming the double wall chamber, which penetrates the double wall chamber to allow communication between the inside of the double wall chamber and the outside of the toilet body. The flexible elongated member extends from the upper connection end of the upper storage area toward the lower connection end, so that it is inserted from the upper storage area into the double wall chamber through the inner communicating hole of the double wall portion, and then extends from inside the double wall chamber through the outer communicating hole of the double wall portion to the outside of the toilet body without passing through the lower area, and then the lower connection end is connected to the supply source. In the present invention configured in this manner, the flexible, elongated member extends from an upper connection end connected to the functional part of the upper storage area of the rear functional storage section toward a lower connection end, and this flexible, elongated member can be inserted into the double-walled chamber through the inner communicating hole of the double-wall section without being bent or sharply curved from the upper storage area of the rear functional storage section. The elongated member can then be smoothly extended from within the double-wall chamber through the outer communicating hole of the double-wall portion to the outside of the toilet body without passing through the lower area of the rear functional storage portion, and the lower connection end of the elongated member can be connected to the supply source. As a result, most of the intermediate portion of the path of the flexible, elongated member connecting the functional part and the supply source can be concealed within the upper storage area of the rear functional storage part or within the double-walled chamber, thereby improving the design of the appearance of the flush toilet. In addition, by inserting the flexible elongated member from the upper storage area through the double-walled chamber without passing through the lower area (double-walled chamber), it is possible to improve the ease of handling of the elongated member within the limited space of the rear functional storage area of the toilet body while suppressing deformation load on the path of the elongated member between the functional area and the supply source. This also makes it possible to suppress permanent deformation or damage to the flexible elongated member, for example, due to kinking. Furthermore, from the standpoint of fire prevention, for example, in the unlikely event that a fire breaks out behind the wall behind the toilet body or in the surrounding area under the floor below the toilet body, even if the fire spreads from behind the wall or under the floor to the flammable space in the lower area of the rear functional storage section of the toilet body or downstream of the outlet of the drain trap section, the upper storage area and lower connecting area (double-walled chamber) are each isolated from the lower area. This reduces the risk of a fire in the lower area spreading to the functional parts of the upper storage area or the elongated members in the double-walled room, ensuring the fire resistance of the functional parts of the upper storage area and the elongated members in the double-walled room. Furthermore, even if a foreign object from outside the toilet body enters the lower communication area (double-walled chamber) through the outer communication hole, the lower communication area (double-walled chamber) and the upper storage area are separated at a point other than the inner communication hole, so that foreign objects from outside the toilet body can be prevented from reaching the functional part of the upper storage area through the outer communication hole.
[0010] In the present invention, preferably, the inner wall portion of the double wall portion forming the double-walled chamber has a horizontal wall portion forming an approximately horizontal wall surface, and the inner communicating hole is formed so as to penetrate the approximately horizontal wall surface of the horizontal wall portion, and the outer wall portion of the double wall portion forming the double-walled chamber has a vertical wall portion forming a vertical wall surface extending in the vertical direction, and the outer communicating hole is formed so as to penetrate the vertical wall surface of the vertical wall portion. In the present invention configured in this manner, the inner communicating hole in the inner wall portion, which penetrates to allow communication between the upper storage area and the double-walled chamber, is formed so as to penetrate the approximately horizontal wall surface of the horizontal wall portion of the inner wall portion in the double-walled chamber, and the outer communicating hole in the outer wall portion, which penetrates to allow communication between the inside of the double-walled chamber and the outside of the toilet body, is formed so as to penetrate the vertical wall surface of the vertical wall portion of the outer wall portion in the double-walled chamber. As a result, when the elongated member is inserted from within the upper storage area into the inner communicating hole and extended from within the double-walled chamber through the outer communicating hole to the outside of the toilet body, there is no need to bend the elongated member significantly, and it can be inserted smoothly. Therefore, the flexible elongated member can be effectively prevented from being permanently deformed or damaged due to, for example, kinking.
[0011] In the present invention, preferably, the central axis of the inner communicating hole is positioned rearward of the fore-and-aft center of the horizontal wall portion, and the outer communicating hole is formed in the outer wall portion of the double wall portion at the rear wall portion of the skirt portion. In the present invention configured in this manner, the central axis of the inner communicating hole is positioned rearward of the fore-and-aft center of the horizontal wall portion, and the outer communicating hole is formed in the outer wall portion of the double wall portion in the rear wall portion of the skirt portion. Therefore, the inner communicating hole of the horizontal wall portion can be positioned toward the rear wall portion of the skirt portion compared to when the central axis of the inner communicating hole is positioned at the same position as the fore-and-aft center of the horizontal wall portion or in front of it. Therefore, since the distance between the inner communication hole and the outer communication hole can be made small, when inserting the elongated member into the inner communication hole and the outer communication hole, it is easy to guide the elongated member into each communication hole. This eliminates the need to bend the flexible elongated member sharply. In addition, since the central axis of the inner communicating hole is positioned rearward of the fore-and-aft center of the horizontal wall portion, when the elongated member is inserted through the inner communicating hole and the outer communicating hole and the upper connection end of the elongated member is connected to the functional part, there is no need to significantly bend and deform the flexible elongated member so as not to interfere with the front side of the functional part. As a result, permanent deformation or damage to the flexible elongated member due to kinking or the like can be more effectively prevented. Furthermore, by reducing the distance between the inner communicating hole and the outer communicating hole, the thickness of the double wall portion that forms the double-walled chamber between the inner communicating hole and the outer communicating hole through which the elongated member is inserted can be reduced, thereby making the entire toilet body smaller.
[0012] In the present invention, the double-walled chamber is preferably formed below the upper storage area, and the elongated member is inserted from within the upper storage area into the double-walled chamber through the inner communication hole. In the present invention configured as described above, the elongated member can be smoothly handled by passing it through the double-walled chamber formed below the upper storage area. Furthermore, compared to inserting through a double-walled chamber formed on the side of the upper storage area, the thickness of the side wall of the skirt portion and the horizontal width of the entire toilet body in the left and right directions can be reduced, making it possible to make the entire flush toilet smaller.
[0013] In the present invention, preferably, the elongated member has its upper connection portion connected to the front or side of the functional portion, and after first extending diagonally downward toward the front or side, is directed toward the inner communicating hole on the diagonally downward rear side, and is inserted from the inner communicating hole through the double-walled chamber to the outer communicating hole without passing through the lower region, and is guided to the outside of the toilet body. In the present invention configured in this manner, the upper connection portion of the elongated member is connected to the front or side of the functional part, and after first extending diagonally downward toward the front or side, is directed toward the inner communicating hole on the diagonally downward rear side. Therefore, the elongated member can be efficiently inserted from the inner communicating hole through the double-walled chamber to the outer communicating hole without passing through the lower region, and can be efficiently guided to the outside of the toilet body. In addition, by inserting the flexible elongated member from the upper storage area through the double-walled chamber without passing through the lower area, it is possible to further improve the maneuverability of the elongated member within the limited space of the rear functional storage area of the toilet body while suppressing deformation load on the path of the elongated member between the functional area and the supply source, and thus it is possible to effectively suppress permanent deformation or damage to the flexible elongated member, for example, due to kinking. Effect of the Invention
[0014] The flush toilet of the present invention can improve the maneuverability and fire resistance of the flexible, elongated member that connects the functional part to a supply source that enables the supply of water or power, while also improving the design of the entire flush toilet. [0016] A flush toilet according to a first embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to the accompanying drawings. First, the overall structure of a flush toilet according to a first embodiment of the present invention will be explained generally with reference to Figs. 1 to 3. Fig. 1 is an overall configuration diagram of a flush toilet according to a first embodiment of the present invention. Fig. 2 is an exploded perspective view of the flush toilet according to the first embodiment of the present invention, seen from behind and diagonally above. Fig. 3 is a plan view of the flush toilet according to the first embodiment of the present invention. As shown in Figures 1 to 3, a flush toilet 1 according to a first embodiment of the present invention comprises a water supply passage (main water supply passage 2) through which flush water supplied from a main water supply source W0 such as a water line passes, a ceramic toilet body 4, and a flush water supply device 6.
[0017] Next, as shown in Figures 1 to 3, the toilet body 4 comprises a bowl portion 8 for receiving waste, a rim portion 10 formed on the upper edge of the bowl portion 8, and a drain trap portion 12 extending from the bottom of the bowl portion 8. 1 to 3, the flush water supply device 6, details of which will be described later, is provided rearward of the bowl portion 8 of the toilet body 4, and is a functional part that enables flush water supplied from the main water supply passage 2 to be supplied to the toilet body 4. More specifically, this functional part is powered by electricity, and includes a function for controlling the stop of the discharge of flush water into the bowl portion 8 of the toilet body 4.
[0018] Next, as shown in FIG. 3, a rim water channel 14 is formed inside the rim portion 10 on one of the left and right sides of the toilet body 4 (the right side when looking at the toilet body 4 in FIG. 3 from the front side). This rim water channel 14 extends from the rear side of the toilet body 4 towards the front inside the rim portion 10 on one of the left and right sides of the toilet body 4 (the right side when looking at the toilet body 4 from the front in Figure 3), and then bends partway towards the rear side, forming a so-called U-turn shape. Furthermore, a rim spout 14a is provided at the downstream end (downstream rear end) of this rim water conduit 14. Furthermore, the rim side water supply passage 2a of the flush water supply device 6 is connected to the upstream side of the rim water conduit 14 of the toilet body 4. Flush water supplied from this rim side water supply passage 2a to the rim water outlet 14a is discharged rearward from the rim water outlet 14a into the bowl section 8, thereby performing rim spouting.
[0019] 1 and 3, a jet water conduit 16 is formed from the outer surface to the bottom of the bowl portion 8 of the toilet body 4. The downstream side of this jet water conduit 16 is directed toward the inlet portion 12a of the drain trap portion 12 at the bottom of the bowl portion 8, and a jet water outlet 16a is provided at the downstream end of the jet water conduit 16. Additionally, upstream of the jet water conduit 16 of the toilet body 4, there is provided a jet side water supply conduit 2b of the flush water supply device 6, which will be described in detail later. Flush water supplied from this jet side water supply conduit 2b to the jet water conduit 16 of the toilet body 4 is discharged from the jet water outlet 16a towards the inlet 12a of the drain trap section 12, so that jet water is discharged. Here, as shown in FIG. 1, the upstream side of the rim-side water supply passage 2a of the flush water supply device 6 is connected to a changeover valve 18 at the branch point B of the main water supply passage 2. On the other hand, as shown in FIG. 1, the upstream side of the jet side water supply passage 2b of the wash water supply device 6 is connected to a pressure pump 22 of the wash water supply device 6 provided downstream of the water storage tank 20 of the wash water supply device 6.
[0020] Next, the drain trap section 12 of the toilet body 4 consists of an inlet section 12a provided at the bottom of the bowl section 8, an ascending pipe 12b rising from this inlet section 12a, and a descending pipe 12c descending from this ascending pipe 12b, with the top section 12d being between the ascending pipe 12b and the descending pipe 12c. As shown in FIG. 1, the outlet portion 12e of the downcomer pipe 12c of the drain trap portion 12 is connected to the inlet portion of a drain socket S disposed at the rear and below of the toilet body 4. 1, the outlet portion on the rear side of the drain socket S is connected to the inlet portion of the drain pipe D extending from the rear wall (not shown) side of the toilet body 4. This results in a so-called "wall-side drainage" drainage form in which wastewater discharged from the outlet portion 12e of the drain trap portion 12 of the toilet body 4 is discharged from the drain socket S to the drain pipe D on the wall side. Furthermore, the flush toilet 1 of this embodiment is not limited to this type of "wall-side drainage" drainage configuration, but can also be applied to a so-called "floor-side drainage" drainage configuration in which wastewater discharged from the outlet 12e of the drain trap section 12 of the toilet body 4 is discharged from the drain socket S to a drain pipe below the installation surface (floor surface F) of the bottom of the toilet body 4.
[0021] Next, each component of the flush water supply device 6 of the flush toilet 1 according to the present embodiment will be explained generally with reference to FIG. First, as shown in FIG. 1, the flush water supply device 6 is provided with, from the upstream side to the downstream side of the main water supply passage 2, a stop valve 24, a branch fitting 26, a valve unit 28, and a switching valve 18. Next, the valve unit 28 includes a water supply pipe elbow 28a, a constant flow valve 30, a diaphragm-type main valve 32, and an electromagnetic valve 34 such as a solenoid valve. The cleaning water supply device 6 also includes a controller 36. The controller 36 is capable of functioning as a control unit that controls the opening and closing operation of the on-off valve (solenoid valve 34) of the valve unit 28, the switching operation of the switching valve 18, and the rotation speed and operating time of the pressure pump 22.
[0022] Furthermore, the constant flow valve 30 of the valve unit 28 is for restricting the flush water that has passed from the stop valve 24 in the main water supply passage 2 through the branch fitting 26 to a predetermined flow rate or less. Incidentally, in a configuration in which a genital sanitary washing device (not shown) is provided for the flush toilet 1, for example, the branch fitting 26 can also be connected to a water supply pipe (not shown) for supplying washing water to the genital sanitary washing device (not shown). When the private parts sanitary washing device (not shown) is omitted, the branch fitting 26 may also be omitted. Furthermore, in the valve unit 28, when the solenoid valve 34 is opened under the control of the controller 36, the main valve 32 opens, and the flushing water that has passed through the main valve 32 from the constant flow valve 30 is supplied to the switching valve 18 at the branch B downstream of the main water supply line 2. Here, the switching valve 18 is capable of supplying flushing water from the main water supply passage 2 to both the rim side water supply passage 2a and the tank side water supply passage 2c at the same time, making it possible to arbitrarily change the ratio of the amount of water supplied to the rim side and the tank side.
[0023] Next, the flush water supply device 6 is equipped with a tank device T that enables flush water supplied from the main water supply passage 2 to be supplied to the toilet body 4. This tank device T is equipped with a water storage tank 20 that is connected to the rear of the toilet body 4 and stores the flush water supplied from the main water supply passage 2, and a pump (pressurizing pump 22) that pressure-feeds the flush water in this water storage tank 20 to the toilet body 4. Furthermore, downstream of the branch B on the downstream side of the main water supply passage 2, there are provided a rim side water supply passage 2a that communicates with the rim water passage 14 of the toilet body 4, and a tank side water supply passage 2c that is connected to the water storage tank 20. As a result, the flush water supplied from the main water supply source W0 to the branch B of the main water supply passage 2 is used as at least one of the rim water supply to the rim side water supply passage 2a and the tank water supply to the tank side water supply passage 2c.
[0024] Furthermore, the wash water supply device 6 is provided with a pump water supply passage 2d that extends from the downstream side of the tank side water supply passage 2c to the pressure pump 22, and a jet side water supply passage 2b that extends from the pressure pump 22 to the downstream side. As a result, in the flush toilet 1 of this embodiment, flush water directly pressurized by the water supply is supplied from the main water supply passage 2 and is supplied from the rim side water supply passage 2a of the flush water supply device 6 through the rim water conduit 14 of the toilet body 4 to the rim water outlet 14a, making it possible for water to be discharged from the rim water outlet 14a (so-called "rim water discharge"). Furthermore, the flush water supplied from the main water supply passage 2 to the flush water supply device 6 passes through the tank side water supply passage 2c, the water storage tank 20, the pump water supply passage 2d and the pressure pump 22 of the flush water supply device 6, and is then supplied from the jet side water supply passage 2b through the jet water conduit 16 of the toilet body 4 to the jet water outlet 16a, making it possible for water to be discharged from the jet water outlet 16a (so-called ``jet water discharge''). In other words, the flush toilet 1 of this embodiment is capable of using both rim spouting of flush water directly pressurized from the main water supply line 2, and jet spouting of flush water pressurized by the pressure pump 22 from the water storage tank 20, and is designed to function as a so-called hybrid flush toilet 1.
[0025] Next, an upper float switch 38 and a lower float switch 40 are respectively disposed inside the water storage tank 20. The water level inside the water storage tank 20 can be detected by these float switches 38, 40. For example, the upper float switch 38 switches on when the water level in the water tank 20 reaches a predetermined water level, and the controller 36 detects the on state of the upper float switch 38 and closes the solenoid valve 34. On the other hand, the lower float switch 40 switches on when the water level in the water tank 20 drops to a predetermined water level that is lower than the predetermined stored water level detected by the upper float switch 38, and the controller 36 detects the on state of the lower float switch 40 and stops the pressure pump 22. In addition, the pressure pump 22 draws flush water stored in the water storage tank 20 into the pump water supply passage 2d, and pressurizes the flush water from this pump water supply passage 2d into the jet side water supply passage 2b, thereby discharging it from the jet water outlet 16a.
[0026] With this structure, during normal toilet flushing, the controller 36 detects the operation of the toilet flush switch (not shown) by the user, and sequentially activates the solenoid valve 34, the switching valve 18, and the pressure pump 22. This causes water to begin to be discharged sequentially from the rim water outlet 14a and the jet water outlet 16a, and the cleaning water that has cleaned the inside of the bowl portion 8 is discharged from the drain trap portion 12 together with the waste in the bowl portion 8. Furthermore, after flushing is completed, the controller 36 opens the solenoid valve 34, the switching valve 18 is switched to the tank side water supply passage 2c side, and flush water in the main water supply passage 2 is replenished to the water storage tank 20. When the water level in the water tank 20 rises and the upper float switch 38 detects the specified water level, the controller 36 closes the solenoid valve 34, causing the main valve 32 to close the main water supply line 2 and stopping the water supply. Furthermore, each of these devices of the flush water supply device 6 (functional section) is adapted to be stored in a rear functional storage section V0 (details of which will be described later) in the area rearward of the bowl section 8 of the toilet body 4.
[0027] Next, with reference to Figures 2 to 7, the rear function storage section V0 in which the flush water supply device 6 (functional section) is stored in the toilet body 4 of the flush toilet 1 according to this embodiment, and the surrounding structure of this rear function storage section V0 will be specifically explained. First, Fig. 4 is a rear view of a flush toilet according to a first embodiment of the present invention. Next, Fig. 5 is a cross-sectional view taken along line VV in Fig. 4. Also, Fig. 6 is a cross-sectional view taken along line VI-VI in Fig. 3. Furthermore, Fig. 7 is a cross-sectional view taken along line VII-VII in Fig. 3. Here, in the flush toilet 1 of this embodiment shown in Figs. 5 to 7, the flush water supply device 6 is not shown and has been omitted.
[0028] First, as shown in Figs. 2 to 7, the toilet body 4 is provided with a skirt portion 42 formed outside the respective side surfaces of the bowl portion 8 and the drain trap portion 12 thereof. Further, the rear function storage section V0 of the toilet body 4 is provided below the upper end of the skirt section in the area rearward of the bowl section 8 of the toilet body 4 and further inward than the skirt section . This rear functional storage section V0 comprises an upper storage area V1, which is a storage area capable of storing at least a part of the cleaning water supply device 6 (functional section), a lower area V2 formed so as to be isolated below the upper storage area V1, and a lower communication area V3 formed so as to be adjacent to and isolated from the lower area V2 and capable of communicating with the lower side of the upper storage area V1. That is, the lower communication region V3 is isolated from the lower region V2 and does not communicate with the lower region V2. On the other hand, the lower communication area V3 is an area that allows communication between the upper storage area V1 and the outside of the toilet body 4.
[0029] Next, as shown in Figures 2 to 7, the skirt portion 42 includes a rear wall portion 42a provided on the rear surface of the toilet body 4, and side wall portions 42b provided on the left and right sides when the toilet body 4 is viewed from the front. A connection opening 44 for connecting a drain pipe D is formed in a lower portion of the rear wall portion 42a of the skirt portion 42 at the center left and right when viewed from the front, so as to penetrate in the front-rear direction. 5, in the rear function storage section V0 of the toilet body 4, a drain socket storage section 46 is formed in front of the connection opening 44 in the lower area V2. This drain socket storage section 46 functions as a storage area that can store the drain socket S connected to the outlet section 12e of the downcomer pipe 12c of the drain trap section 12. That is, the outlet portion 12e of the downcomer pipe 12c of the drain trap portion 12 and the drain socket S are disposed within the lower region V2 of the rear function storage portion V0 of the toilet body 4.
[0030] 6 and 7, the rear functional storage section V0 is provided with a support wall section 48 that supports the flush water supply device 6 (functional section). This support wall section 48 divides the area rearward of the bowl section 8 of the toilet body 4 into an upper storage area V1 and a lower area V2. Moreover, the upper storage area V1 of the rear functional storage section V0 is an area that can store at least a part of the wash water supply device 6 (functional section). Furthermore, the lower area V2 of the rear functional storage section V0 includes the opening areas of the connection opening 44 and the drain socket storage section 46, respectively.
[0031] Next, as shown in Figures 5 and 6, the rear wall portion 42a and the side wall portion 42b of the skirt portion 42 form a double wall portion E including an outer wall portion 42c that forms the outer surface of the skirt portion 42, and an inner wall portion 42d that is provided on the inside of this outer wall portion 42c. Further, this double-wall portion E forms an internal space (double-walled chamber I) between the outer wall portion 42c and the inner wall portion 42d.
[0032] Next, as shown in Figures 6 and 7, the support wall portion 48 of the rear functional storage section V0 of the toilet body 4 has a main wall portion 48b that divides the area rearward of the bowl portion 8 into an upper storage area V1 and a lower area V2. The support wall portion 48 also includes an auxiliary wall portion 48c provided on the outer side of the main wall portion 48b. The auxiliary wall portion 48c includes the inner wall portion 42d of the skirt portion 42 that separates the upper storage area V1 from the internal space (double-walled chamber I) of the double-wall portion E of the skirt portion 42. Furthermore, as shown in Figures 3, 6 and 7, an inner communication hole 50 is formed in the bottom surface on one of the left and right sides of the auxiliary wall portion 48c (the right bottom surface when viewing the auxiliary wall portion 48c shown in Figure 6 from the rear side), which connects the upper storage area V1 and the lower communication area V3 (the double-walled chamber I of the double-wall portion E of the skirt portion 42). Furthermore, as shown in Figures 2, 4, and 7, in the rear wall portion 42a of the skirt portion 42, an outer wall portion 42c which forms a double-walled chamber I corresponding to the lower communication area V3 has an outer communication hole 52 which connects the lower communication area V3 with the outside of the toilet body 4. Each of these inner communication holes 50 and outer communication holes 52 allows communication between the upper storage area V1 of the rear functional storage section V0 and the outside of the toilet body 4 via the lower communication area V3, without passing through the lower area V2 of the rear functional storage section V0.
[0033] 6 and 7, the auxiliary wall portion 48c in which the inner communication hole 50 is formed has a horizontal wall portion 48d that forms a substantially horizontal wall surface. As a result, the inner communication hole 50 is formed so as to penetrate the substantially horizontal wall surface of the horizontal wall portion 48d in the vertical direction. 2, 4 and 7, the outer wall portion 42c of the lower communication region V3 (double-walled chamber I) in which the outer communication hole 52 is formed has a vertical wall portion 42e that forms a vertical wall surface extending in the up-down direction. As a result, the outer communication hole 52 is formed to penetrate the vertical wall surface of the vertical wall portion 42e in the front-rear direction. Furthermore, as shown in Figure 7, the central axis A1 of the inner communicating hole 50 is positioned at a position rearward of the center A2 in the fore-and-aft direction of the horizontal plane of the horizontal wall portion 48d, and the outer communicating hole 52 is formed in the outer wall portion 42c of the double wall portion E in the rear wall portion 42a of the skirt portion 42.
[0034] 2 to 4, 6, and 7, the flush toilet 1 of this embodiment is equipped with a water supply hose 54, which is a flexible, elongated member. This water supply hose 54 connects the branch fitting 26 downstream of the stopcock 24 and part of the valve unit 28 of the flush water supply device 6 (water supply pipe elbow 28a). Incidentally, each of the inner communication hole 50 and the outer communication hole 52 described above also functions as a hole through which a water supply hose 54 can be inserted. Also, as shown in Figures 2 to 4, 6 and 7, the water supply hose 54 has a lower connection end 54a that is connected to the branch fitting 26 arranged on the cleaning water supply source side, and an upper connection end 54b that is connected to a part of the valve unit 28 (water supply pipe elbow 28a) of the cleaning water supply device 6. That is, the water supply hose 54 extends from its upper connection end 54b toward its lower connection end 54a, so that it is inserted from within the upper storage area V1 through the inner communication hole 50 into the lower communication area V3 (double-walled chamber I). The water supply hose 54 then extends from within the lower communication area V3 through the outer communication hole 52 to the outside of the toilet body 4 without passing through the lower area V2, and the lower connection end 54a is then connected to a flush water supply source (branch fitting 26) near the floor surface F. In this embodiment, a form is described in which the upstream side (lower connection end 54a) of the water supply hose 54 is connected to the branch fitting 26. However, if the branch fitting 26 is omitted due to circumstances such as omitting a private cleaning device (not shown), the upstream side (lower connection end 54a) of the water supply hose 54 may be directly connected to the stop valve 24.
[0035] 7, the water supply hose 54, more specifically, has an upper connection end 54b connected to a water supply pipe elbow 28a extending diagonally forward and downward from the side of the valve unit 28 of the wash water supply device 6. The water supply hose 54 has its upper connection end 54b extending obliquely downward toward the front or side, and then directed toward the inner communication hole 50 obliquely downward toward the rear. The water supply hose 54 is then inserted from the inner communication hole 50 through the lower communication area V3 (double-walled chamber I) to the outer communication hole 52 without passing through the lower area V2, and is guided to the outside of the toilet body 4.
[0036] Next, the operation of the flush toilet 1 according to the first embodiment of the present invention described above will be explained with reference to Figs. First, in the flush toilet 1 according to the first embodiment of the present invention, the water supply hose 54, which is a flexible, elongated member, extends from the upper connection end 54b, which is connected to a part of the valve unit 28 (water supply pipe elbow 28a) of the flush water supply device 6 in the upper storage area V1 of the rear function storage section V0, toward the lower connection end 54a. At this time, the water supply hose 54 can be inserted into the lower communication area V3 (double-walled chamber I) through the inner communication hole 50 of the double-wall section E without being bent or sharply bent from the upper storage area V1. Thereafter, the water supply hose 54 can be smoothly extended from within the lower communication area V3 (double-walled chamber I) through the outer communication hole 52 of the double-wall portion E to the outside of the toilet body 4 without passing through the lower area V2. As a result, most of the middle part of the water supply hose 54's path can be concealed within the upper storage area V1 or the lower communication area V3 (double-walled chamber I), thereby improving the design, such as the appearance, of the flush toilet 1. Furthermore, by inserting the flexible water supply hose 54 from the upper storage area V1 through the lower communication area V3 (double-walled chamber I) without passing through the lower area V2, it is possible to improve the ease of handling of the water supply hose 54 within the limited space of the rear function storage section V0 of the toilet body 4, while suppressing deformation load on the intermediate path of the water supply hose 54 between a part (water supply pipe elbow 28a) of the valve unit 28 of the flush water supply device 6 and the flush water supply source (branch fitting 26 or stop valve 24). Therefore, it is also possible to suppress the occurrence of permanent deformation or damage to the flexible water supply hose 54 due to, for example, kinking. Furthermore, from the standpoint of fire prevention, for example, in the unlikely event that a fire breaks out behind the wall behind the toilet body 4 or in the peripheral area under the floor below the toilet body 4, even if the fire spreads from behind the wall or under the floor to the flammable space in the lower area V2 of the rear functional storage section V0 of the toilet body 4 or the downstream side of the outlet 12e of the drain trap section 12, the upper storage area V1 and lower communication area V3 (double-walled chamber I) of the rear functional storage section V0 of the toilet body 4 are each isolated from the lower area V2. This reduces the risk of a fire in the lower area V2 spreading to the cleaning water supply device 6 in the upper storage area V1 or the water supply hose 54 in the lower communication area V3 (double-walled chamber I), ensuring the fire resistance of the cleaning water supply device 6 and the water supply hose 54. Furthermore, even if a foreign object from outside the toilet body 4 enters the lower communication area V3 (double-walled chamber I) through the outer communication hole 52, since the lower communication area V3 (double-walled chamber I) and the upper storage area V1 are separated at a location other than the inner communication hole 50, the foreign object from outside the toilet body 4 can be prevented from reaching the flushing water supply device 6 in the upper storage area V1 from the outer communication hole 52.
[0037] Furthermore, according to the flush toilet 1 of this embodiment, the inner communication hole 50 of the inner wall portion 42d, which penetrates to allow communication between the upper storage area V1 and the lower communication area V3 (double-walled chamber I), is formed so as to penetrate the approximately horizontal wall surface of the horizontal wall portion 48d of the inner wall portion 42d in the double wall portion E, and the outer communication hole 52 of the outer wall portion 42c, which penetrates to allow communication between the lower communication area V3 (double-walled chamber I) and the outside of the toilet body 4, is formed so as to penetrate the vertical wall surface of the vertical wall portion 42e of the outer wall portion 42c in the double wall portion E. As a result, when the water supply hose 54 is inserted from the upper storage area V1 into the inner communication hole 50 and extended from the lower communication area V3 (double-walled chamber I) through the outer communication hole 52 to the outside of the toilet body 4, there is no need to bend the water supply hose 54 significantly, and it can be inserted smoothly. Therefore, the occurrence of permanent deformation or damage to the flexible water supply hose 54 due to, for example, kinking can be effectively prevented.
[0038] Furthermore, with the flush toilet 1 of this embodiment, the central axis A1 of the inner communication hole 50 is positioned rearward of the front-to-rear center A2 of the horizontal wall portion 48d, and the outer communication hole 52 is formed in the outer wall portion 42c of the double wall portion E in the rear wall portion 42a of the skirt portion 42. This allows the inner communication hole 50 of the horizontal wall portion 48d to be positioned closer to the rear wall portion 42a of the skirt portion 42, compared to when the central axis A1 of the inner communication hole 50 is positioned at the same position as the front-to-rear center A2 of the horizontal wall portion 48d or in front of it. Therefore, the distance between the inner communicating hole 50 and the outer communicating hole 52 can be reduced, making it easier to guide the water supply hose 54 into each of the communicating holes 50, 52 when it is inserted through the inner communicating hole 50 and the outer communicating hole 52. This eliminates the need to bend the flexible water supply hose 54 sharply, such as by bending it. In addition, since the central axis A1 of the inner communicating hole 50 is positioned at a position rearward of the position of the fore-and-aft center A2 of the horizontal wall portion 48d, when the water supply hose 54 is inserted through the inner communicating hole 50 and the outer communicating hole 52 and the upper connection end 54b of the water supply hose 54 is connected to a part of the valve unit 28 (water supply pipe elbow 28a) of the cleaning water supply device 6, there is no need to significantly bend and deform the flexible water supply hose 54 so as not to interfere with the front side of the cleaning water supply device 6, etc. As a result, permanent deformation or damage to flexible water supply hose 54 due to kinking or the like can be more effectively prevented. Furthermore, by reducing the distance between the inner communicating hole 50 and the outer communicating hole 52, the thickness of the double wall section E that forms the lower communicating area V3 (double wall chamber I) between the inner communicating hole 50 and the outer communicating hole 52, through which the water supply hose 54 is inserted, can be reduced, thereby making the entire toilet body 4 smaller.
[0039] Furthermore, with the flush toilet 1 of this embodiment, the water supply hose 54 can be smoothly routed by being inserted through the lower communication area V3 (double-walled chamber I) formed below the upper storage area V1. Furthermore, compared to inserting through the double-walled chamber I formed on the side of the upper storage area V1, the thickness of the side wall portion 42b of the skirt portion 42 and the overall left-right horizontal width of the toilet body 4 can be reduced, making it possible to make the entire flush toilet 1 smaller (slimmer).
[0040] Furthermore, in the flush toilet 1 of this embodiment, the upper connection end 54b of the water supply hose 54 is connected to the front or side of the flush water supply device 6, and after first extending diagonally downward toward the front or side, is directed toward the inner communicating hole on the diagonally downward rear side, so that the water can be efficiently inserted from the inner communicating hole 50 through the lower communicating area V3 (double-walled chamber I) to the outer communicating hole 52 without passing through the lower area V2, and efficiently guided to the outside of the toilet body 4. Furthermore, by inserting the flexible water supply hose 54 from the upper storage area V1 through the lower communication area V3 (double-walled chamber I) without passing through the lower area V2, it is possible to further improve the ease of handling of the water supply hose 54 within the limited space of the rear function storage section V0 of the toilet body 4, while suppressing deformation load on the intermediate path of the water supply hose 54 between a part of the valve unit 28 (water supply pipe elbow 28a) of the flushing water supply device 6 and the flushing water supply source (branch fitting 26 or stop valve 24). Therefore, the occurrence of permanent deformation or damage to the flexible water supply hose 54 due to kinking, for example, can be effectively prevented.
[0041] Next, a flush toilet 100 according to a second embodiment of the present invention will be explained with reference to FIG. Figure 8 is a cross-sectional view of a flush toilet according to a second embodiment of the present invention, similar to Figure 7. Here, in the flush toilet 100 according to the second embodiment of the present invention shown in Figure 8, the same parts as those in the flush toilet 1 according to the first embodiment of the present invention shown in Figure 7 have been given the same reference numerals, and explanations of these will be omitted, with only the different structural parts being explained. First, as shown in Figure 8, in the toilet body 104 of a flush toilet 100 according to the second embodiment of the present invention, the auxiliary wall portion 148a of the support wall portion 148 in which the inside communicating hole 150 is formed is equipped with a vertical wall portion 148b that forms a vertical wall surface that extends in the up-down direction. As a result, the inside communicating hole 150 is formed to penetrate the vertical wall surface of this vertical wall portion 148b in the front-to-rear direction. As shown in FIG. 8, an outer communication hole 152 is formed in the outer wall portion 142a of the skirt portion 142 which defines the lower communication region V103 (double-walled chamber I).
[0042] According to the flush toilet 100 according to the second embodiment of the present invention described above, when the water supply hose 54 is inserted from within the upper storage area V101 into the inner communication hole 150 and extended from within the lower communication area V103 (double-walled chamber I) through the outer communication hole 152 to the outside of the toilet body 4, there is no need to bend the water supply hose 54 significantly, and it can be inserted smoothly. Furthermore, since the distance between the inner communication hole 150 and the outer communication hole 152 in the front-to-rear direction can be reduced, the entire toilet body 104 can be made smaller while still ensuring the upper storage area V101. Furthermore, by reducing the front-to-rear distance between the inner communicating hole 150 and the outer communicating hole 152, the water supply hose 54 can be easily guided into each of the communicating holes 150, 152 when being inserted into the inner communicating hole 150 and the outer communicating hole 152, so there is no need to bend the flexible water supply hose 54 sharply, such as by bending it. Therefore, the occurrence of permanent deformation or damage to the flexible water supply hose 54 due to, for example, kinking can be effectively prevented.
[0043] In the flush toilet 1,100 according to the first and second embodiments of the present invention described above, a configuration in which a water supply hose 54 is used as the flexible, elongated member has been described, but this is not limited to this configuration and other configurations are also applicable. For example, another form of the flexible elongated member may employ two water supply hoses: a toilet flushing water supply hose 54 that supplies flushing water for the toilet flushing to the flushing water supply device 6, and a local cleaning water supply hose that supplies flushing water for local cleaning to a local cleaning device (not shown), and these two water supply hoses may be inserted into the inner communicating holes 50, 150 and the outer communicating holes 52, 152, respectively. Alternatively, as yet another form of the flexible elongated member, it may be applied to a wiring hose through which multiple power supply wires are inserted to supply power to a flushing water supply device 6, a personal flushing device (not shown), a cold climate heater device (not shown), etc., arranged in the toilet body 4, 104, and this wiring hose may be inserted through each of the inner communicating holes 50, 150 and the outer communicating holes 52, 152.
