Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] The present invention relates to a gelling agent, a method for producing the gelling agent, and a cosmetic composition. [Background technology]
[0002] Silicone oil has light spreadability, excellent smoothness, and water repellency, and cosmetics containing silicone oil can have a light feel. However, there is a limit to the compatibility with oils other than silicone oil, and in order to stabilize cosmetics containing them, it is necessary to solidify or thicken the silicone oil.
[0003] Methods reported for thickening silicone oil include using a crosslinked organopolysiloxane (Patent Document 1) and using a gelling agent in which an aromatic group and a siloxane chain are bonded by an amide bond (Patent Document 2). However, when the amount of these gelling agents used is large, the product may feel sticky or heavy to the touch.
[0004] Another method for thickening silicone oil has been reported, which involves blending clay minerals with silicone compounds trapped between layers. However, the ammonium salt organopolysiloxanes used are limited to those modified at both ends or those modified at the side chains, and the thickening effect and stability over time are insufficient (Patent Document 3). [0105] [Examples 1 to 4, Comparative Examples 1 to 5] A gel composition was obtained by mixing the components in the amounts shown in Table 1 according to the manufacturing method described below.
[0106] [Table 1] component (※) Bentonite: Kunipia F (manufactured by Kunimine Industries) (※) Quaternium-18 Bentonite: Moistite WO (manufactured by Kunimine Industries) (※) Cyclopentasiloxane: KF-995 (Kinematic viscosity: 4mm 2 / s, manufactured by Shin-Etsu Chemical Co., Ltd.) (※) Dimethylpolysiloxane: KF-96A-6cs (Kinematic viscosity: 6mm 2 / s, manufactured by Shin-Etsu Chemical Co., Ltd.) (※) PEG-10 Dimethicone: KF-6017 (Shin-Etsu Chemical Co., Ltd.)
[0107] (Manufacturing method) Component (B) in Table 1 was stirred with a disperser while being heated at 60°C, and component (A) was added little by little. Subsequently, PEG-10 dimethicone or propyl carbonate was added as necessary, and the mixture was stirred for 10 minutes to obtain a gel composition.
[0108] The gel compositions of Examples 1 to 4 and Comparative Examples 1 to 5 were evaluated for appearance (uniformity), appearance (stability over time at 50° C.), and composition viscosity according to the following evaluation methods. The results are shown in Table 1.
[0109] Appearance (Uniformity) 25 g of the gel composition was placed in a glass bottle, and the occurrence of liquid phase separation, aggregation of clay minerals, and sedimentation was visually observed and evaluated according to the following criteria. (Evaluation Criteria) 〇: No powder clumping or oil floating △: Some powder clumping and oil floating. ×: Powder and oil are completely separated
[0110] [Stability over time at 50℃] The gel composition was placed in a 50 g glass bottle and stored at 50° C. for one week, after which the occurrence of liquid phase separation or aggregation of the gel composition was visually observed and evaluated according to the following criteria. (Evaluation Criteria) ◎: No change from immediately after preparation of the composition ○: Oil floating in some areas ×: Powder and oil are separated
[0111] [viscosity] 50 g of the gel composition was placed in a glass bottle, and the viscosity at 25° C. was measured by the method using a rotational viscometer described in JIS K 7117-1: 1999. For samples whose viscosity could not be measured because they had lost fluidity and solidified, the results were indicated with ⊚.
[0112] As is clear from the above results, in the cases of Examples 1 to 4, a silicone oil gel composition was obtained, which was excellent in both uniformity of appearance and stability over time.
[0113] On the other hand, gelation was not observed in Comparative Example 1 in which no clay mineral was blended.
[0114] In Comparative Examples 2 and 3, which contained a clay mineral treated with an organopolysiloxane modified at both ends with ammonium groups or an organopolysiloxane with ammonium groups in the side chains, it was found that the composition had a low viscosity and was also poor in appearance uniformity and stability over time.
[0115] Furthermore, in Comparative Examples 4 and 5, in which an untreated clay mineral or an organically modified clay mineral was used, it was found that the clay mineral significantly aggregated in the composition, resulting in poor uniformity in appearance.
[0116] Thus, it was found that the organopolysiloxane of the present invention is capable of satisfactorily gelling silicone oil and providing a gel composition that is excellent in uniformity and stability over time.
