Description

[Technical field]

[0001] The present invention relates to a soffit structure of a building. [Background technology]

[0002] In the construction of eaves top boards, it is common to fasten the board to the building side joists, etc. from the underside with fasteners such as nails and screws. In that case, it is necessary to repair the boards so that the heads of the fasteners such as nails and screws are not noticeable, and there is a problem that the repaired parts become noticeable due to deterioration over time.

[0003] In addition, a conventional support member for an eaves top board has been known in which an eaves top board support piece 104 supporting the eaves side of the eaves top board 103 is provided on a trim edge 102 attached to the eaves side fascia base 100 or rafter 101, as shown in Figure 50 or Figure 51. [Prior art documents] [Patent documents]

[0004] [Patent Document 1] JP 2001-98693 A [Patent Document 2] Japanese Patent Application Publication No. 07-331793 Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]

[0005] However, in the eaves side support members of the eaves top boards of Patent Documents 1 and 2, the eaves top board support piece 104 supporting the eaves side of the eaves top board 103 is integrally formed with the eaves top board support piece 102 attached to the eaves top side fascia base 100 or the joist 101, so that the position of the eaves top board support piece 104 in the eaves top protruding direction is fixed and cannot be changed.

[0006] As a result, a gap is formed between the end face of the eaves top board 103 on the eaves side and the eaves top board support piece 104, which makes the eaves top board 103 prone to rattling.

[0007] If the eaves top board 103 is loose, this is undesirable in terms of fire prevention, waterproofing, and wind pressure resistance.

[0008] This invention is intended to prevent lateral displacement of the joints of adjacent eaves boards in the width direction. [Means for solving the problem]

[0009] This invention relates to an eaves structure in which the eaves base sides of adjacent eaves top boards in the width direction are supported on a rafter or exterior wall via an eaves base side support member, and the eaves end sides of the eaves top boards are supported on a rafter or fascia base via an eaves end side support member, and the joint fittings are provided at the joints of adjacent eaves top boards in the width direction, and the joint fittings comprise a fixed plate fixed to the vertical surface of the fascia base, exterior wall or rafter, an upper panel plate provided below the fixed plate and positioned on the upper surface of the eaves top board, and a stopper portion provided separately from the upper panel and inserted into the butt joints of adjacent eaves top boards in the width direction, the upper panel plate having a slit that overlaps with an upper surface groove provided at the butt joints of adjacent eaves top boards in the width direction, and the stopper comprises an engagement plate portion overlapping the upper surface of the upper panel and an engagement portion that is fitted into the upper surface groove of the butt joints of adjacent eaves top boards through the slit of the upper panel.

[0010] The lower surface of the upper panel may be provided with a positioning protrusion that engages with an upper surface groove at the butt joint of adjacent eaves panels in the width direction. Effect of the Invention

[0011] As described above, according to the present invention, it is possible to prevent lateral displacement of the joints of adjacent eaves boards in the width direction. [Brief description of the drawings]

[0013] Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. In the embodiment of the eaves soffit structure shown in Figure 1, the eaves base side of the eaves soffit board 1 is supported to the rafters 2 via an eaves base side support member 3, and the eaves end side of the eaves soffit board 1 is supported to the rafters 2 and the fascia base 4 via an eaves end side support member 5.

[0014] The eaves-end support member 5 is composed of an eaves-end fixing bracket 6A that is fixed to the rafter 2, and an eaves-end trim 7A that covers the eaves-end fixing bracket 6A. The eaves-end fixing bracket 6A is fixed to the rafter 2 so that its position can be changed in the direction in which the eaves extend, and the eaves-end trim 7A is attached to the fascia board base 4.

[0015] The eaves-end side trim edge 7A is a long member (e.g., about 3000 mm) that is long in the girder direction, as shown in Figure 2, whereas the eaves-end side fixing bracket 6A is a short member, as shown in Figure 3, and is arranged at intervals (e.g., 455 mm intervals) in the girder direction.

[0016] As shown in Figure 3, the eaves side fixing bracket 6A comprises an upper support piece 6a located on the upper surface of the eaves top board 1, a lower support piece 6b located on the underside of the eaves top board 1, a hanging piece 6c which connects the upper support piece 6a and the lower support piece 6b and faces the eaves side end face of the eaves top board 1 and presses the eaves side end face of the eaves top board 1 toward the eaves base side, and an attachment piece 6d which extends from the eaves side end of the upper support piece 6a toward the eaves side and is fastened upward to the joist 2 by a fastening device 8 such as a nail or screw.

[0017] The mounting piece 6d of the eaves-end fixing metal fitting 6A is provided with an insertion hole 6e for a fastener 8 such as a nail or a screw.

[0018] In addition, the tip of the lower support piece 6b of the eaves side fixing bracket 6A on the eaves base side is widened downward, making it easier to insert the eaves board 1 when inserting the eaves side of the eaves board 1 between the upper support piece 6a and the lower support piece 6b.

[0019] As shown in Fig. 2, the eaves-side trim 7A has an approximately Z-shaped cross section, with an upper portion 7a, a lower portion 7b, and an oblique rising portion 7c connecting them. The outdoor end of the upper portion 7a of the eaves-side trim 7A is folded back upward. Similarly, the indoor end of the lower portion 7b of the eaves-side trim 7A is also folded back upward, and this folded back portion forms an insertion portion 7d that is inserted between the lower support piece 6b of the eaves-side fixing bracket 6A and the underside of the eaves top board 1.

[0020] The upper portion 7a of the eaves-side trim 7A is fixed to the underside of the fascia board base 4 by fasteners 9 such as nails or screws that are driven upward from the underside of the fascia board base 4. A fascia board 14, which is a building component on the eaves side, is attached to the outdoor side of the fascia board base 4. The fascia board 14 is arranged so that its lower end protrudes downward beyond the lower end of the eaves-side trim 7A.

[0021] A vent 10 leading to the ceiling space is provided in the rising portion 7c of the eaves side trim edge 7A, and the rising portion 7c constitutes a ventilation wall. The vent 10 in the rising portion 7c connects the underside of the eaves with the outdoors, thereby enabling ventilation to be performed under the eaves.

[0022] On the other hand, the eaves-base side support member 3 of the eaves soffit structure of the embodiment shown in Figure 1 consists of an eaves-base side trim edge 11A shown in Figure 4 and an eaves-base side fixing bracket 12A shown in Figure 5, and the eaves-base side trim edge 11A and the eaves-base side fixing bracket 12A are fixed to the eaves soffit 2 by fasteners 13 such as nails or screws driven upward from the underside of the eaves soffit 2.

[0023] The eaves-side trim 11A is a long member (e.g., about 3000 mm) long in the girder direction, while the eaves-side fixing bracket 12A is a short member arranged at intervals (e.g., 455 mm intervals) in the girder direction. The fastener 13 penetrates the eaves-side fixing bracket 12A and the upper part of the eaves-side trim 11A and is driven into the underside of the joist 2. The eaves-side fixing bracket 12A is fixed to the joist 2 together with the eaves-side trim 11A.

[0024] The eaves-side trim 11A has an approximately U-shaped cross section, including an upper portion 11a, a lower portion 11b, and a rising portion 11c connecting them, as shown in Fig. 4. Similarly, the eaves-side fixing bracket 12A has an approximately U-shaped cross section, including an upper portion 12a, a lower portion 12b, and a rising portion 12c connecting them, as shown in Fig. 5, and the upper portion 12a is provided with an insertion hole 12d through which a fastener 13 such as a nail or a screw is inserted.

[0025] The eaves-side trim 11A is formed to be slightly larger than the eaves-side fixing metal fitting 12A so that it can cover the outer surface of the eaves-side fixing metal fitting 12A. The upper part 11a of this eaves-side trim 11A abuts against the lower surface of the joist 2, and the rising part 11c abuts against the surface of the exterior wall material or the exterior wall base.

[0026] In addition, the upper portion 12a of the eaves side fixing bracket 12A is located on the upper side of the eaves side of the eaves top board 1 which is arranged horizontally, for example, and the lower portion 12b is located on the lower side of the eaves side of the eaves top board 1, and the rising portion 12c is abutted against the end face of the eaves top board 1 on the indoor side.

[0027] The outdoor end of the upper part 11a of the eaves-side trim 11A is folded back downward, and this folded back portion is engaged with the outdoor end of the upper part 12a of the eaves-side fixing metal fitting 12A. Similarly, the outdoor end of the lower part 11b of the eaves-side trim 11A is folded back upward, and this folded back portion is engaged with the outdoor end of the lower part 12b of the eaves-side fixing metal fitting 12A.

[0028] The procedure for constructing the eaves soffit structure shown in Figure 1 is, for example, to attach the eaves base fixing bracket 12A to the eaves base trim 11A, and then fix the eaves base fixing bracket 12A and the eaves base trim 11A to the joist 2 at a specified pitch using fasteners 13 such as nails or screws (in some cases, the eaves base fixing bracket 12A is fixed after the eaves base trim 11A is attached first).

[0029] Then, the eaves side of the eaves top board 1 is inserted between the upper part 12a and the lower part 12b of the eaves top side fixing bracket 12A, and the eaves end side of the eaves top board 1 is lifted and inserted between the upper support piece 6a and the lower support piece 6b of the eaves end side fixing bracket 6A to attach the eaves end side of the eaves top board 1. Furthermore, the eaves end side fixing bracket 6A is slid to the indoor side, the eaves top board 1 is moved to the eaves end side, and the hanging piece 6c presses the eaves top board 1 toward the eaves end side. After that, the mounting piece 6d of the eaves end side fixing bracket 6A is fastened upward to the joist 2 with a fastener 8 such as a nail or a screw.

[0030] After this, the insertion portion 7d of the eaves side trim 7A is inserted between the lower support piece 6b of the eaves side fixing bracket 6A and the underside of the eaves top board 1, and while adjusting the amount of insertion, the upper portion 7a of the eaves side trim 7A is fastened to a predetermined position on the fascia base 4 using fastening devices 9 such as nails or screws.

[0031] In this way, in the eaves structure shown in Figure 1, the eaves end side fixing bracket 6A is slid toward the inside of the room, the eaves top board 1 is moved toward the eaves base, and the hanging piece 6c presses the eaves top board 1 toward the eaves base side, thereby enabling the eaves top board 1 to be installed without any wobble.

[0032] Furthermore, by pressing the eaves top board 1 toward the eaves base using the eaves side fixing bracket 6A, even if the position of the eaves protruding direction of the eaves side fixing bracket 6A changes, the insertion portion 7d of the eaves side trim 7A is inserted between the lower support piece 6b of the eaves side fixing bracket 6A and the underside of the eaves top board 1, and the upper portion 7a of the eaves side trim 7A is fastened to a predetermined position on the fascia base 4 with fasteners 9 such as nails or screws while adjusting the amount of insertion, so that the fasteners 8 of the eaves side fixing bracket 6A and the eaves side fixing bracket 6A itself can be hidden by the eaves side trim 7A, and the aesthetic appearance when viewed from below is not compromised.

[0033] Next, Figure 6 shows another embodiment of the eaves soffit structure of this invention. This embodiment is an example that uses an eaves-end side trim 7B, which is a modified version of the eaves-end side trim 7A in Figure 1. The same reference numerals are used to designate parts common to the eaves-end side trim 7A and the eaves-end side trim 7B, and duplicated explanations will be omitted. In the various examples below, the same reference numerals are used to designate parts common to the eaves-end side trim 7A and the eaves-end side trim 7B, and duplicated explanations will be omitted.

[0034] The eaves side trim edge 7B in Figure 6 extends from the outdoor end of the upper part 7a to a position beyond the rising part 7c on the indoor side, and the indoor end of this extension is folded downward to reach the point where the air flow (arrow) from the air vent 10 passes through, with the end of this folded part functioning as a water-repelling piece 7e to prevent rainwater from entering under the eaves.

[0035] In addition, a thermally expandable fireproofing material 15 that expands due to heat during a fire is arranged on the inside of the lower part 7b of the eaves-side trim 7B so as to cover the vent 10 of the rising part 7c when it expands. For example, the thermally expandable fireproofing material 15 is formed in a tape shape and is attached in the girder direction on the inner surface of the lower part 7b of the eaves-side trim 7B at a position below the vent 10.

[0036] FIG. 7 also shows an eaves-end side trim 7C which is another example of the eaves-end side trim 7A used in the eaves soffit structure of the present invention.

[0037] The eaves side trim edge 7C in Figure 7 forms a second ventilation space on the eaves side by a hanging portion 7f provided downward at the outdoor side end of the upper portion 7a, a second lower portion 7g extending the lower end of this hanging portion 7f toward the outdoor side, and a third rising portion 7h extending upward from the outdoor side end of this second lower portion 7g and abutting the fascia 14, and a second ventilation hole 16 formed in the hanging portion 7f connects the underside of the eaves soffit to the outdoors, improving ventilation under the eaves soffit.

[0038] Furthermore, Figure 8 also shows an eaves end side trim 7D, which is another example of the eaves end side trim 7A used in the eaves soffit structure of this invention, which further improves ventilation under the eaves soffit than the eaves end side trim 7C of Figure 7.

[0039] 8, the third rising portion 7h is extended upward until it abuts the underside of the fascia board base 4, and the upper end of this third rising portion 7h is bent toward the exterior to provide a second upper portion 7i that abuts the underside of the fascia board base 4. The second upper portion 7i is fixed to the underside of the fascia board base 4 by fasteners 17 such as nails or screws that are driven upward from the underside of the fascia board base 4.

[0040] A third ventilation hole 18 is formed in the third rising portion 7h, and this third ventilation hole 18 connects the back of the eaves with the outdoors, improving ventilation under the eaves.

[0041] In addition, the eaves-side trim 7D has a rising portion 7j having a fourth ventilation hole 19 between the eaves-side end of the lower portion 7b and the eaves-side end of the insertion portion 7d.

[0042] Furthermore, Figure 9 also shows an eaves end side trim 7E, which is another example of the eaves end side trim 7A used in the eaves soffit structure of this invention, which further improves ventilation under the eaves soffit than the eaves end side trim 7D of Figure 8.

[0043] The eaves-side trim edge 7E in Figure 9 is an example in which the length of the third rising portion 7h and the hanging portion 7f are extended further downward than the eaves-side trim edge 7D, thereby making the ventilation space larger and thereby improving ventilation under the eaves soffit.

[0044] Next, FIG. 10 shows another embodiment of the eaves structure of the present invention.

[0045] The eaves-end side fixing metal fitting 6B used in the eaves-end structure of Fig. 10 is a modified version of the eaves-end side fixing metal fitting 6A of Fig. 1, and as shown in Fig. 11, a spring-like urging portion 6f is formed on both edges of the indoor side end of the lower support piece 6b by cutting a part and bending the central part so that it protrudes upward. The tip bottom side of the urging portion 6f is at a height that is approximately flush with the lower support piece 6b, and the urging portion 6f is gradually pushed upward by the underside of the eaves-end board 1 into which it is inserted. This urging portion 6f is pushed by the underside of the eaves-end board 1 to bend downward and push up the eaves-end board 1 in the thickness direction. This makes it possible to prevent the occurrence of a support gap in the thickness direction on the eaves-end side of the eaves-end board 1, and also prevents rattling in the thickness direction on the eaves-end side of the eaves-end board 1.

[0046] In addition, the hanging piece 6c of the eaves-end fixing bracket 6B is formed by cutting and raising a biasing portion 6g that biases the eaves top board 1 toward the eaves base. By providing the biasing portion 6g to the hanging piece 6c, even if the eaves top board 1 becomes thinner from the eaves base support side to the eaves end support side due to aging, it is possible to prevent rattling due to aging in that direction. In the example of Figure 10, the eaves end side trim 7B is used.

[0047] FIG. 12 also shows an eaves-end fixing metal fitting 6C which is another example of the eaves-end fixing metal fitting 6A in the eaves soffit structure of the present invention, and in this embodiment, an eaves-end trim edge 7B is used.

[0048] As shown in Fig. 13, the eaves-side fixing metal fitting 6C in Fig. 12 has a spring-like urging portion 6h that is bent so that the central portion protrudes downward by cutting into both edges of the interior end of the upper support piece 6a. The tip bottom side of the urging portion 6h is at a height that is approximately flush with the upper support piece 6a, and the urging portion 6f is gradually pressed downward by the upper surface of the eaves top board 1 into which it is inserted. The urging portion 6h is pressed by the upper surface of the eaves top board 1 to bend upward and to press down in the thickness direction of the eaves top board 1. This makes it possible to prevent the occurrence of a support gap in the thickness direction on the eaves side of the eaves top board 1, and to prevent rattling in the thickness direction on the eaves side of the eaves top board 1.

[0049] In addition, the hanging piece 6c of the eaves-end fixing metal fitting 6C is formed by cutting and raising a biasing portion 6g that biases the eaves top board 1 toward the eaves base. By providing the biasing portion 6g to the hanging piece 6c, even if the eaves top board 1 becomes thinner in the direction from the eaves base support side to the eaves end support side due to aging, rattling due to aging in that direction can be prevented.

[0050] FIG. 14 also shows an eaves-end fixing metal fitting 6D which is another example of the eaves-end fixing metal fitting 6A in the eaves soffit structure of the present invention, and in this embodiment, an eaves-end trim 7B is used.

[0051] As shown in Fig. 15, the eaves-end fixing metal fitting 6D in Fig. 14 has a protrusion 6i that is cut and raised from the hanging piece 6c to be inserted into the end surface of the eaves top board 1. By inserting this protrusion 6i into the end surface of the eaves top board 1, rattling between the eaves-end fixing metal fitting 6D and the eaves top board 1 can be prevented.

[0052] Next, FIG. 16 also shows an eaves-end fixing metal fitting 6E which is another example of the eaves-end fixing metal fitting 6A in the eaves soffit structure of the present invention, and in this embodiment, an eaves-end trim edge 7A is used.

[0053] The eaves side fixing bracket 6E of the embodiment shown in Figure 16 is equipped with a slide member 61 (shown by a dotted line) that can slide in a direction pressing the eaves top board 1 toward the eaves base, and a holding limiting member 62 that holds the slide member 61 slidably while restricting it from returning in the direction opposite to the pressing direction, as shown in Figures 17(a) and (b).

[0054] The retention and limiting member 62 is integrally provided with a fixing plate portion 621 which is fixed to the vertical surface on the indoor side (back side) of the fascia base 4 by fasteners 81 such as nails or screws. This fixing plate portion 621 is integrally provided at a right angle to the outdoor side edge of the upper surface of the retention and limiting member 62. The fixing plate portion 621 is provided with an insertion hole 622 into which the fastener 81 for fixing the retention and limiting member 62 to the back side of the fascia base 4 is driven. The retention and limiting member 62 is fixed to the fascia base 4 by abutting the fixing plate portion 621 against the back side of the fascia base 4 and driving the fastener 81 into the insertion hole 622.

[0055] As shown in Figures 18(a), (b), (c) and 19, the slide member 61 comprises an upper portion 611, a lower portion 612 and a vertical plate portion 613 connecting these. The upper portion 611 is a portion that is held by the holding and limiting member 62E and allows and limits movement, and an uneven portion 614 is formed on the underside of this upper portion 611. The lower portion 612 is located below the eaves top board 1 and supports the eaves top board 1. The vertical plate portion 613 faces the outdoor end face of the eaves top board 1 and is the portion that presses the eaves top board 1 towards the eaves base.

[0056] As shown in Figures 20(a)(b)(c) and 21, the holding limiting member 62 is a metal piece having a horizontal plate portion and a pair of vertical plate portions standing upward at right angles along both sides of the horizontal plate portion, and the vertical plate portions constitute the fixed plate portion 621.

[0057] The horizontal plate portion of the holding and limiting member 62 is provided with two slits parallel to the vertical plate portion, and the portion between the slits is pressed downward by press working to integrally form a single bag portion 623 that slidably encases the upper portion 611 of the slide member 61. The bag portion 623 is provided with a protrusion 624 that engages with the uneven portion 614 formed on the lower surface of the upper portion 611 of the slide member 61 by cutting and raising.

[0058] In addition, a spring steel biasing portion 625 that presses the eaves top board 1 against the lower portion 612 of the slide member 61 is provided on the lower surface of the bag portion 623 of the holding and limiting member 62. This spring steel biasing portion 625 presses the eaves top board 1 against the lower portion 612 of the slide member 61E, so that even if there is variation in the thickness of the eaves top board 1 or the thickness of the eaves top board 1 is reduced due to aging, the lower surfaces of adjacent eaves top boards 1 are aligned, so that when the eaves top boards 1 are viewed from below, no step is created, and the appearance is good. The spring steel biasing portion 625 hangs down from the eaves base side toward the eaves tip side, and the eaves base side is joined to the bag portion 623 by a burring rivet portion 626.

[0059] The holding and limiting member 62 is formed with a second fixing plate portion 627 extending toward the eaves side from between a pair of vertical plate portions constituting the fixing plate portion 621. This second fixing plate portion 627 and the horizontal plate portion are located on the same plane. The second fixing plate portion 627 is provided with an insertion hole 628 for the fastener 82 so that the holding and limiting member 62 can be fixed to the underside of the fascia base 4 by the fastener 82.

[0060] Furthermore, a pair of fixing plate portions 615, which extend toward the outdoors on the same plane as the upper portion 611 and have downwardly bent tips, are formed on the outdoor end of the upper portion 611 of the slide member 61E. The pair of fixing plate portions 615 are spaced a predetermined distance apart in a direction perpendicular to the sliding direction of the slide member 61, and as shown in Fig. 22, by positioning the fastener 82 between the pair of fixing plate portions 615, the second fixing plate portion 627 of the retention and limiting member 62 can be fixed to the underside of the fascia base 4 by the fastener 82.

[0061] In the eaves soffit structure of the type shown in Figure 16, a pair of fixed plate portions 615 are formed at the outdoor end of the upper part 611 of the sliding member 61, which extend toward the outdoor side in the same plane as the upper part 611 and have downwardly bent tips. After the eaves soffit board 1 is pushed toward the eaves base using the sliding member 61, the eaves end side trim edge 7B is attached to the fascia board 4 with fastening device 9, so that the pair of fixed plate portions 615 of the sliding member 61 abuts against the eaves end side trim edge 7B, reliably preventing the sliding member 61 from returning.

[0062] 17(a), the eaves-side fixing bracket 6E of the embodiment shown in Fig. 16 is preferably provided with a protrusion 616 for preventing slipping out on the upper surface of the indoor end of the upper part 611 of the slide member 61 so that the slide member 61 does not slip out of the pocket part 623 of the hold limiting member 62 even if the slide member 61 is strongly pulled in the outdoor direction relative to the hold limiting member 62. Note that if the protrusion 616 is formed before inserting the slide member 61 into the pocket part 623 of the hold limiting member 62 and assembling it, it will cause an obstacle to inserting the hold limiting member 62 into the pocket part 623, so it is necessary to form the protrusion 616 by pressing after inserting the pocket part 623 into the hold limiting member 62.

[0063] Next, FIG. 23 shows an embodiment in which an eaves-end side fixing metal fitting 6F, which is a modified example of the eaves-end side fixing metal fitting 6E shown in FIG. 16, is used.

[0064] The eaves soffit structure shown in Figure 23, like the eaves soffit structure shown in Figure 16, has a pair of fixed plate portions 615 formed at the outdoor end of the upper part 611 of the sliding member 61, which extend toward the outdoor side in the same plane as the upper part 611 and have downwardly bent tips. After the eaves soffit board 1 is pushed toward the eaves base by the sliding member 61, the eaves end side trim edge 7A is attached to the fascia base 4 by fastening device 9, so that the pair of fixed plate portions 615 of the sliding member 61 abuts against the eaves end side trim edge 7A, reliably preventing the sliding member 61 from returning.

[0065] The eaves side fixing bracket 6F shown in Figure 24 is equipped with a slide member 61 (shown by a dotted line) that can slide in a direction pressing the eaves top board 1 toward the eaves base, as shown in Figures 24(a) and (b), and a holding limiting member 62 that holds the slide member 61 in a slidable manner while restricting it from returning in the direction opposite to the pressing direction.

[0066] Unlike the retention and limiting member 62 in the eaves soffit structure of the form shown in Fig. 16, which has a pair of vertical plate parts standing at right angles upward and constituting a fixed plate part 621 along both sides of the horizontal plate part, this retention and limiting member 62 has one vertical plate part constituting a fixed plate part 621 formed in the center of the tip edge on the eaves side of the horizontal plate part as shown in Fig. 27(a)(b)(c) and Fig. 28. Also, a pair of second retention plate parts 627 are provided extending from both sides of the tip edge on the eaves side of the horizontal plate part toward the eaves side.

[0067] The fixing plate portion 621 is provided with an insertion hole 622 into which a fastener 81 such as a nail or a screw is driven to fix the retention limiting member 62 to the back surface of the fascia base 4. The retention limiting member 62 is fixed to the fascia base 4 by abutting the fixing plate portion 621 of the retention limiting member 62 against the back surface of the fascia base 4 and driving the fastener 81 into the insertion hole 622.

[0068] As shown in Figures 25(a), (b), (c) and 26, the slide member 61 comprises an upper part 611, a lower part 612 and a vertical plate part 613 connecting these. The upper part 611 is a part that is held by the holding and limiting member 62 and allows and limits movement, and an uneven part 614 is formed on the underside of this upper part 611. The lower part 612 is located below the eaves top board 1 and supports the eaves top board 1. The vertical plate part 613 faces the outdoor side end face of the eaves top board 1 and is the part that presses the eaves top board 1 towards the eaves base.

[0069] As shown in Figures 27(a)(b)(c) and 28, the holding limiting member 62 is a metal piece having a horizontal plate portion and a vertical plate portion standing at a right angle from the center of the outdoor side of the horizontal plate portion, and the vertical plate portion constitutes the fixed plate portion 621.

[0070] The horizontal plate portion of the holding and limiting member 62 is provided with two slits parallel to the vertical plate portion, and the portion between the slits is pressed downward by press working to integrally form a single bag portion 623 that slidably encases the upper portion 611 of the slide member 61. The bag portion 623 is provided with a protrusion 624 that engages with the uneven portion 614 formed on the lower surface of the upper portion 611 of the slide member 61 by cutting and raising.

[0071] In addition, a spring steel biasing portion 625 that presses the eaves top board 1 against the lower portion 612 of the slide member 61 is provided on the lower surface of the bag portion 623 of the holding and limiting member 62. This spring steel biasing portion 625 presses the eaves top board 1 against the lower portion 612 of the slide member 61, so that even if there is variation in the thickness of the eaves top board 1 or the thickness of the eaves top board 1 is reduced due to aging, the lower surfaces of adjacent eaves top boards 1 are aligned, so that when the eaves top boards 1 are viewed from below, no step is created, and the appearance is good. The spring steel biasing portion 625 hangs down from the eaves base side toward the eaves tip side, and the eaves base side is joined to the bag portion 623 by a burring rivet portion 626.

[0072] Furthermore, at the outdoor end of the upper portion 611 of the sliding member 61, a fixing plate portion 615 is formed which extends to the outdoor side on the same plane as the upper portion 611 and has a downwardly bent tip.

[0073] The holding and limiting member 62 is formed with a second fixing plate portion 627 extending from both sides of the vertical plate portion constituting the fixing plate portion 621 toward the eaves side. The second fixing plate portion 627 and the horizontal plate portion are located on the same plane. The second fixing plate portion 627 is provided with an insertion hole 628 for the fastener 82 so that the holding and limiting member 62 can be fixed to the underside of the fascia base 4 by the fastener 82.

[0074] In the eaves soffit structure of the type shown in Figure 23, a fixed plate portion 615 is formed at the outdoor end of the upper part 611 of the sliding member 61, which extends toward the outdoor side in the same plane as the upper part 611 and has a downwardly bent tip. After the eaves soffit board 1 is pushed toward the eaves base by the sliding member 61, the eaves end side trim edge 7A is attached to the fascia base 4 by a fastening device 9, so that the fixed plate portion 615 of the sliding member 61 abuts against the eaves end side trim edge 7A, reliably preventing the sliding member 61 from returning.

[0075] 24(a), it is preferable to provide a protrusion 616 for preventing the slide member 61 from slipping out of the bag portion 623 of the holding and limiting member 62 on the upper surface of the indoor end of the upper part 611 of the slide member 61 so that the slide member 61 will not slip out of the bag portion 623 of the holding and limiting member 62 even if the slide member 61 is strongly pulled in the outdoor direction relative to the holding and limiting member 62. Note that if the protrusion 616 is formed before inserting the bag portion 623 into the holding and limiting member 62 and assembling the slide member 61, it will cause an obstacle to inserting the holding and limiting member 62 into the bag portion 623. Therefore, it is necessary to form the protrusion 616 by pressing after inserting the bag portion 623 into the holding and limiting member 62.

[0076] Next, Fig. 29 shows an embodiment using the eaves-side fixing bracket 12B, which is a modified version of the eaves-side fixing bracket 12A. The eaves-side fixing bracket 12B also has an upper part 12a, a lower part 12b, and a rising part 12c connecting them, and has a cross section of a generally U-shape, and the upper part 12a has an insertion hole 12d for a fastener 13 such as a nail or a screw. The eaves-side fixing bracket 12B in the embodiment of Fig. 29 is characterized in that, as shown in Fig. 30, both edges of the outdoor end of the lower part 12b are partially cut and bent so that the approximately central part protrudes upward to form a mountain-shaped spring-like urging part 12e. The bottom of the tip of the urging part 12e is at approximately the same height as the lower part 12b, and the urging part 12e is gradually pressed downward by the underside of the eaves top board 1 into which it is inserted. The biasing portion 12e is pressed by the lower surface of the eaves top board 1 to bend downward, and at the same time, pushes the eaves top board 1 upward in the direction of the upper portion 12a (thickness direction of the eaves top board 1).

[0077] 31 and 32 show an embodiment using an eaves-side fixing bracket 12C, which is a modified example of the eaves-side fixing bracket 12A. The eaves-side fixing bracket 12C of this modified example has a spring steel biasing portion 20 on the upper portion 12a that presses the eaves top board 1 against the lower portion 12b. This spring steel biasing portion 20 presses the eaves top board 1 against the lower portion 12b of the eaves-side fixing bracket 12C. Therefore, even if there is variation in the thickness of the eaves top board 1 or the thickness of the eaves top board 1 is reduced due to aging, there is no step between adjacent eaves top boards 1 when the eaves top boards 1 are viewed from below, and the appearance is good. As shown in Fig. 32, the spring steel biasing part 20 comprises a pair of spring pieces 201 whose central parts hang down and curve downward from the eaves side to the eaves base side, and a connecting part 202 connecting the pair of spring pieces 201, and the connecting part 202 is joined to the eaves side of the upper part 12a by a burring crimp part 203. A nail hole 204 for fixing the eaves base side fixing bracket 12C to the joist 2 with a fastener 13 is provided in the center of the upper part 12a of the eaves base side fixing bracket 12C.

[0078] Also, Figures 33 and 34 show an embodiment using an eaves-side fixing bracket 12D, which is a modified example of the eaves-side fixing bracket 12B shown in Figures 29 and 30. The eaves-side fixing bracket 12D shown in Figures 33 and 34 has a biasing portion 21 on the rising portion 12c that biases the eaves top board 1 toward the eaves end, as shown by the two-dot chain line. The biasing portion 21 is made of a leaf spring, the center of which is fixed to the rising portion 12c by crimping, and the leaf spring is bent so that the end side farther from the central fixed position approaches the end face of the eaves top board 1.

[0079] 35 and 36 also show an embodiment using an eaves-side fixing bracket 12E, which is a modified version of the eaves-side fixing bracket 12B shown in Fig. 29 and 30. As shown in Fig. 36, the eaves-side fixing bracket 12E has an attachment section 23 in which the end of the upper part 12a is bent upward. This attachment section 23 is provided with nail holes 24 for driving the fastener 13 into the joist 2. The eaves-side trim 11B used in this embodiment has an end of the upper part bent upward to fit along the attachment section 23, and the fastener 13 is driven into this bent portion.

[0080] Next, Figs. 37 to 48 show various joint fittings used to prevent lateral displacement and sagging of the joint portion of adjacent eaves top boards 1 in the width direction and to improve the fixing strength to joists and the like.

[0081] The joint fitting 30A shown in Figures 37 to 39 comprises a vertical plate portion 31 located at the butt joint of adjacent eaves boards 1 in the width direction, a pair of upper plate portions 32 provided on both upper sides of the vertical plate portion 31 and located on the upper surfaces of adjacent eaves boards 1 in the width direction, and an insertion portion 35 provided on both lower sides of the vertical plate portion 31 and inserted into a female tongue portion 34 formed on the end surface of adjacent eaves boards 1 in the width direction, and at least one of the pair of upper plate portions 32 located on the upper surfaces of adjacent eaves boards 1 in the width direction is fastened to a base such as a joist 2 by fastening devices 84 such as nails or screws.

[0082] In the joint fitting 30A shown in Figures 37 and 38, one (the left side in the drawing) of a pair of upper panel portions 32 located on the upper surfaces of adjacent eaves boards 1 in the width direction is fixed to a base such as a joist 2 by a fastener 84 such as a nail or screw, and this fixed side is formed longer in the width direction than the other side, forming an insertion hole 38 for the fastener 84.

[0083] In addition, the butt joints of adjacent eaves top boards 1 in the width direction of Figure 37 are formed into a matching shape in which half of the board thickness is cut out to create an overlapping portion, and a female tongue portion 34 is formed in the overlapping portion.

[0084] As shown in Figure 39, the joint fitting 30A can also be used to join eaves top boards 1 that are adjacent in the width direction and have a straight end where a female tongue portion 34 is formed.

[0085] Next, the joint fitting 30B shown in Figures 40 and 41 is a modified example of the joint fitting 30A shown in Figures 37 to 39, and is characterized in that both edges of the insertion part 35 inserted into the female tongue part 34 are formed with a springy urging part 37 in a mountain shape that is partially cut and bent so that the approximate centre protrudes upward. This urging part 37 prevents rattling between the insertion part 35 and the female tongue part 34 of the joint fitting 30B, and prevents sagging of the joint part of the eaves top boards 1 adjacent in the width direction.

[0086] 42 and 43 is a modified version of the joint fitting 30B shown in FIGS. 40 and 41, and is characterized in that one of the edges of the insertion portion 35 to be inserted into the female tongue portion 34 is formed with a spring-like spring portion 37 which is bent in a mountain-shaped shape and is partially cut out so that approximately the central portion protrudes upward, and the insertion portion 35 to be inserted into the other female tongue portion 34 is provided with a spring-like spring portion 37 which is bent in a mountain-shaped shape and is bent so that the central portion protrudes upward.

[0087] Next, the joint fitting 30D in Figures 44 and 45 consists of a fixed plate 39 fixed vertically to the joist 2 etc., an upper panel 41 provided below this fixed plate 39 and positioned on the upper surface of the eaves board 1, and a stopper portion 40 provided on this upper panel 41 and inserted into the butt joint of adjacent eaves boards 1 in the width direction.

[0088] As shown in Figure 44, this joint fitting 30D can prevent adjacent eaves top boards 1 from shifting sideways by inserting the stopper portion 40 into the butt joint of adjacent eaves top boards 1 in the width direction, then positioning the top panel 41 on the top surface of the eaves top board 1 and fixing the fixing plate 39 to the vertical surface of the fascia base, exterior wall or joist 2 with fasteners 85 such as nails or screws. The fixing plate 39 of this joint fitting 30D has insertion holes 42 formed therein for inserting fasteners 85 such as nails or screws.

[0089] Next, the joint fitting 30E in Figures 46 and 47 is a modified example of the joint fitting 30D in Figures 44 and 45, and is composed of a fixing plate 39 fixed to the vertical surface of the fascia base, the exterior wall, or the joist 2, an upper plate 41 provided below the fixing plate 39 and located on the upper surface of the eaves top board 1, and a stopper portion 40 provided on the upper plate 41 and inserted into the butt portion of the eaves top boards 1 adjacent in the width direction. In this joint fitting 30E, the upper plate 41 and the stopper portion 40 are formed separately. The upper plate 41 has a slit 43 that overlaps with the upper groove 36 provided in the butt portion of the eaves top boards adjacent in the width direction. The stopper portion 40 consists of an engagement plate portion 44 that overlaps with the upper surface of the upper plate 41, and a fitting portion 45 that fits into the upper groove 36 of the butt portion of the adjacent eaves top boards 1. The engagement plate portion 44 and the fitting portion 45 of the stopper portion 40 are formed by bending a plate material into a T shape.

[0090] In the joint fitting 30E of Figures 46 and 47, as shown in Figures 48 and 49, in order to make it easier to align the slit 43 of the upper panel 41 with the upper surface groove 36 provided in the butt portion of adjacent eaves boards 1 in the width direction, it is preferable to provide a positioning protrusion 46 on the underside of the upper panel 41 which engages with the upper surface groove 36 provided in the butt portion of adjacent eaves boards 1 in the width direction.
