Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] The present invention relates to a sunscreen or daily care composition comprising diethylamino hydroxybenzoyl hexyl benzoate, butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane, bis-ethylhexyloxyphenol methoxyphenyl triazine, ethylhexyl triazone and / or diethylhexyl-butamido triazone, wherein the sunscreen or daily care composition is free of octocrylene and ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, and comprises diethylamino hydroxybenzoyl hexyl benzoate and butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane in a ratio of 0.8 or more. The present invention relates to the use of said composition for reducing sand adhesion after application of the composition to the skin. Furthermore, the present invention relates to the use of said composition for application to sensitive skin. [Background technology]
[0002] UV radiation (ultraviolet rays) causes adverse effects on human skin. In addition to the acute effect of skin tanning, UV radiation is also known to increase the risk of skin cancer. Furthermore, prolonged exposure to UV-A and UV-B light can cause cutaneous phototoxic and photoallergenic reactions and may accelerate skin aging.
[0003] To protect human skin from UV rays, there are various sun-protective UV filters (also called UV absorbers), including UV-A filters, UV-B filters, and broadband filters. These filters are added to sunscreen or cosmetic compositions. UV filters are either organic or inorganic, particulate or non-particulate compounds, all of which have a high degree of absorption effect in the UV light range. In general, UV light can be divided into UV-A rays and UV-B rays. Depending on the position of the absorption maximum, UV filters are divided into UV-A and UV-B filters. If a UV filter absorbs both UV-A and UV-B rays, it is called a broadband absorber.
[0004] Since 2006, according to a recommendation of the EU Commission, all sunscreen or cosmetic compositions should have a UV-A protection factor that is at least one third of the stated Sun Protection Factor (SPF), which primarily represents UV-B protection.
[0005] However, the UV filters known in the prior art that are used in sunscreen or cosmetic compositions have certain disadvantages. Many sunscreen or cosmetic compositions contain UV filters that are approved for use in sunscreen or cosmetic compositions, but are often controversial due to health and environmental concerns.Controversial UV filters are, for example, octocrylene, homosalate, ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, 4-methylbenzylidene camphor, benzophenone-3 or ethylhexyl salicylate. Therefore, there is a need for a sunscreen or cosmetic composition for daily use that is effective in sun protection but does not contain controversial UV filters.
[0006] EP 2 837 407 A2 discloses odor-stable, octocrylene-free cosmetic compositions comprising one or more UV filters selected from triazine derivatives, titanium dioxide, butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane and / or diethylamino hydroxybenzoyl hexyl benzoate, and free of ethylhexyl salicylate, octocrylene, homomenthyl salicylate and ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate.
[0007] European Patent Application Publication No. 3 093 008 A1 describes a sunscreen composition that is octocrylene-free and contains diethylaminohydroxybenzoylhexyl benzoate, phenylbenzimidazole sulfonic acid, and one or more salicylates selected from ethylhexyl salicylate and homosalate.
[0008] EP 3 093 007 A1 discloses a cosmetic composition comprising a UV filter combination of diethylamino hydroxybenzoyl hexyl benzoate, ethylhexyl triazone and one or more salicylates selected from ethylhexyl salicylate and homosalate, and which may further be free of oxybenzone, octocrylene and 4-methylbenzylidene camphor.
[0009] EP 3 093 006 relates to an alcohol-containing, octocrylene-free sunscreen composition. The cosmetic composition comprises a combination of UV filters diethylamino hydroxybenzoyl hexyl benzoate, ethylhexyl triazone, and bis-ethylhexylphenol methoxyphenyl triazine, and contains one or more alcohols.
[0010] EP 3 195 853 A1 discloses a sunscreen composition which is octocrylene-free and contains a combination of the UV filters diethylaminohydroxybenzoylhexylbenzoate, diethylbutamidotriazone and ethylhexyltriazone.
[0011] EP 3 351 236 A1 relates to a cosmetic composition comprising a combination of UV filters of diethylamino hydroxybenzoyl hexyl benzoate, butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane and polyglycerol fatty acid ester, but free of 4-methylbenzylidene camphor, oxybenzone, ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, isoamyl p-methoxycinnamate and octocrylene.
[0012] US 2012 / 0128611 describes cosmetic compositions containing a specific benzylidene malonate as a UV filter in combination with another UV filter selected from a specific group. In particular, US 2012 / 0128611 discloses said UV filter combinations for the protection of human and animal hair and skin against UV radiation. [Prior art documents] [Patent documents]

In other words, the composition is substantially free of a particular compound or group of compounds. Furthermore, it is preferred that the composition according to the present invention does not comprise said compound or group of compounds in an amount greater than 0.5% by weight, and preferably the composition does not comprise said compound or group of compounds at all. The same definition applies to the term "does not comprise".
[0078] Furthermore, it should be understood that the term "free of" or "does not comprise" means that if the composition does not comprise compound X and compound Y, then the composition must not comprise both compounds X and Y. In other words, the composition may not contain any compound selected from X and Y.

[0094] The term "paraben" refers to a class of preservatives used in cosmetics and pharmaceutical compositions. They are commonly used due to their bactericidal and germicidal properties. The chemical structure of parabens is based on parahydroxybenzoates or esters of parahydroxybenzoic acid, such as methylparaben, ethylparaben, propylparaben, butylparaben, or heptylparaben.
[0095] The term "emollient" relates to cosmetic products used to protect, moisturize and smooth the skin. The word emollient comes from the Latin word mollire, which softens. In general, emollients prevent the evaporation of water from the skin by forming an occlusive coating. They can be divided into different groups, depending on their polarity index.
[0096] The term "polarity index" refers to non-polar or polar oils. Non-polar oils are mainly based on hydrocarbons and lack electronegative elements, such as oxygen. In contrast, polar oils contain heteroatoms with different electronegativities, resulting in a dipole moment. However, such oils are still insoluble in water, i.e., hydrophobic. The polarity index can be determined by measuring the interfacial tension between each oil and water.
[0097] The term “benzoic acid C 12 ~C 15 Alkyl" is C 12 ~C 15 It refers to the ester of benzoic acid with an aliphatic alcohol containing an alkyl chain. 12 ~C 15 The alkyl chain is C 12 , C 13 , C 14 Or C 15 It is defined as an alkyl chain having a chain length.

[0100] The term "sensitive skin" refers to skin whose natural barrier function is weakened and damaged by some trigger, which can be, for example, cold weather, very hot water, emulsifiers or preservatives often contained in sunscreen or daily care compositions.
[0101] As used herein, the term "sun protection factor" (SPF) indicates how well the skin is protected by a sunscreen composition, primarily from UV-B rays. In particular, this index indicates how long the protected skin can be exposed to sunlight without sunburn compared to untreated skin. For example, when a sunscreen composition with an SPF of 15 is evenly applied to the skin of a person who normally burns after 10 minutes in the sun, the sunscreen will allow a person skilled in the art to stay in the sun 15 times longer. In other words, SPF 15 means that the sunscreen is applied at 2 milligrams per square centimeter (mg / cm 2 ) is applied evenly, meaning that 1 / 15 of the intense UV rays will reach the skin.
[0102] The definition of "broadband" protection (also called broad spectrum or extensive protection) is based on the "critical wavelength". For broadband coverage, UV-B and UV-A protection must be provided. According to US requirements, a critical wavelength of at least 370 nm is necessary for achieving broad spectrum protection. Furthermore, the European Commission recommends that all sunscreen or cosmetic compositions should have a UVA protection factor that is at least one-third of the declared Sun Protection Factor (SPF), for example, if a sunscreen composition has an SPF of 30, the UVA protection factor must be at least 10.
[0103] The term "applying" refers to the application of a sunscreen or daily care composition to a person's skin.
[0104] Preferred embodiments of the sunscreen or daily care composition according to the present application and the use of said composition are described below. [0121] With regard to the above embodiments, and in particular with regard to the first, second and third embodiments, it is further preferred that the sunscreen or daily care composition comprises hexyl 2-[4-(diethylamino)-2-hydroxybenzoyl]benzoate (INCI name Diethylaminohydroxybenzoylhexylbenzoate) and 1-(4-(1,1-dimethylethyl)phenyl)-3-(4-methoxyphenyl)propane-1,3-dione (INCI name Butylmethoxydibenzoylmethane) in a ratio of 0.8 or greater.
[0122] In this context, a ratio of 0.8 or more is to be understood to mean that 2-[4-(diethylamino)-2-hydroxybenzoyl]hexyl benzoate (INCI name Diethylaminohydroxybenzoylhexylbenzoate) and 1-(4-(1,1-dimethylethyl)phenyl)-3-(4-methoxyphenyl)propane-1,3-dione (INCI name Butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane) are present in a ratio of 1:1.2 or that 2-[4-(diethylamino)-2-hydroxybenzoyl]hexyl benzoate (INCI name Diethylaminohydroxybenzoylhexylbenzoate) and 1-(4-(1,1-dimethylethyl)phenyl)-3-(4-methoxyphenyl)propane-1,3-dione (INCI name Butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane) are present in a ratio of more than 1:1.2. [0129] In a preferred embodiment, the sunscreen or daily care composition comprises at least one emollient in an amount of 1% to 20% by weight, preferably 2% to 15% by weight, based on the total weight of the sunscreen or daily care composition. It should be understood that these amounts refer to each individual emollient in the sunscreen or daily care composition. Thus, each individual emollient in the sunscreen or daily care composition is preferably present in an amount of 1% to 20% by weight, preferably 2% to 15% by weight, based on the total weight of the sunscreen or daily care composition. When more than one emollient is present in the sunscreen or daily care composition, the total amount of emollients may preferably range from 1% to 35% by weight, preferably 2% to 25% by weight, based on the total weight of the sunscreen or daily care composition.
[0130] With regard to the above preferred embodiment regarding the addition of at least one emollient with a polarity index of <30 mN / m, it has surprisingly been found by the inventors of the present invention that the addition of at least one emollient as defined above enhances the solubility and performance of the UV filter as defined above in octocrylene-free sunscreen or daily care compositions. In this context, it should be understood that the wavelength of maximum absorbance (λmax) is an indicator of the performance of a UV filter molecule. It gives the wavelength at which the absorbance is maximum.
[0131] The following preferences regarding the ratio of diethylaminohydroxybenzoylhexylbenzoate to butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane are relevant with respect to the above-listed embodiments of the present invention.
[0132] In one preferred embodiment of the present invention, the sunscreen or daily care composition according to the first, second and third embodiment defined above comprises diethylamino hydroxybenzoyl hexyl benzoate (DHHB) and butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane (BMDBM) in a ratio of 1 or more.

In this regard, it is more preferred that the composition according to the first, second and third embodiment defined above comprises diethylaminohydroxybenzoylhexylbenzoate and butylmethoxydibenzoylmethane in a ratio of 1:1 to 5:1.
[0134] In yet another preferred embodiment of the present invention, the sunscreen or daily care composition according to the first, second and third embodiment defined above comprises diethylaminohydroxybenzoylhexylbenzoate and butylmethoxydibenzoylmethane in a ratio of 1:1 to 2:1, more preferably in a ratio of 1:1 to 1.5:1.
[0135] In particularly preferred embodiments of the present invention, the sunscreen or daily care composition according to the first, second and third embodiment defined above comprises diethylaminohydroxybenzoylhexylbenzoate and butylmethoxydibenzoylmethane in a ratio of 1:1, 1.5:1, 1.7:1, 2:1 or 2.5:1.
[0136] It should be understood that with regard to the above preferred embodiments, the ratios defined above for diethylaminohydroxybenzoylhexylbenzoate and butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane apply independently of any UV filters additionally present in the sunscreen or daily care composition.
[0137] With regard to the above preferred embodiment of the sunscreen composition, and in particular with regard to the UV filters DHHB, BMDBM and BEMT, it has been surprisingly found by the inventors of the present invention that DHHB stabilizes the UV filters BMDBM and BEMT. Those skilled in the art will recognize that BMDBM is a frequently used UV absorber that tends to isomerize under radiation to build a triplet diketone. This diketone is highly susceptible to photolysis, which causes the degradation of BMDBM. Furthermore, it has been found that the presence of BMDBM destabilizes the UV filter BEMT. Therefore, it is necessary to add a stabilizer to the composition containing BMDBM, and a photostable UV absorber such as octocrylene is commonly used. It is therefore a surprising discovery by the inventors of the present invention that BMDBM and BEMT can be stabilized by the use of the UV filter DHHB in a sunscreen composition that does not contain octocrylene.
[0138] The following preferences regarding the absence of certain UV filters or additives in sunscreen or daily care compositions are relevant with respect to the above-listed embodiments of the present invention.
[0139] In one embodiment of the present invention, the sunscreen or daily care composition as defined above is free of titanium dioxide and zinc oxide.
[0140] In another embodiment of the invention, the sunscreen or daily care composition as defined above is free of 2-hydroxy-4-methoxybenzophenone (INCI name Oxybenzone) and isoamyl 4-methoxycinnamate (INCI name Isoamyl p-methoxycinnamate).
[0141] In yet another embodiment of the present invention, the sunscreen or daily care composition as defined above does not contain parabens. In this connection, it should be understood that parabens, also known as parahydroxybenzoates, oxybenzoates, oxybenzoic acids, hydroxybenzoic acids and hydroxybenzoates, are also excluded from the sunscreen or daily care composition according to the present invention.
[0142] Possible parabens that may be excluded from sunscreen or daily care compositions according to the present invention are butylparaben, ethylparaben, or methylparaben, propylparaben, isobutylparaben, isopropylparaben, sodium paraben, sodium methylparaben, sodium propylparaben, potassium paraben and calcium paraben.
[0143] In yet another embodiment of the present invention, the sunscreen or daily care composition according to the present invention comprises a phosphate-based emulsifier, such as potassium cetyl phosphate and C phosphate. 20~22 Contains no alkyl.
[0144] In yet another embodiment of the present invention, the sunscreen or daily care composition does not contain any emulsifier. In this context, it should be understood that the term "emulsifier", also known as emulgent, refers to a compound that stabilizes emulsions, typically by increasing their kinetic stability. Essentially, they consist of a polar or hydrophilic part and an apolar or hydrophobic part.

The color of a sunscreen or daily care composition will depend on its b * This value can be expressed as L * a * b * The color difference between the samples can be evaluated based on the determination of color space parameters. Using this method, the color difference between several samples can be determined on a numerical basis, as described in more detail in the experimental section below.
[0175] In this connection, it has surprisingly been found that the sunscreen or daily care compositions defined above exhibit a bright colour.
[0176] Furthermore, with regard to the above embodiments, it should be understood that the total weight of the sunscreen or daily care composition refers to the sunscreen composition as defined above, which may include at least one additive.

[0186] With regard to the above embodiments, it should be understood that when the sunscreen composition comprises two or more additives, combinations of the additives defined above are also part of the present invention.
[0187] With respect to the above embodiments, it should be understood that the sunscreen composition may further comprise water.
[0188] It should be understood that when water is present in the sunscreen or daily care composition, it is preferably present in an amount of more than 5% by weight based on the total weight of the composition.Furthermore, it should be understood that when water is present in the sunscreen composition, the sunscreen composition may be an oil-in-water emulsion (O / W emulsion), a water-in-oil emulsion (W / O emulsion), a gel-cream, or an oil-in-gel.
[0189] In one embodiment of the present invention, the sunscreen or daily care composition can be provided in various forms, such as in the form of a gel, cream, oil, lotion or sprayable product. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the sunscreen or daily care composition is provided in the form of a cream or sprayable product. [0190] With respect to the above preferred and particularly preferred embodiments, it should be understood that additives are further added to the composition depending on the form in which the sunscreen or daily care composition is provided.Furthermore, with respect to the above preferred embodiments, it should be understood that the term sprayable product refers to any formulation that can be provided in a sprayable form, regardless of the viscosity of the formulation, for example a cream that can be provided in a sprayable form.
[0191] In another aspect, the present invention relates to the use of a sunscreen or daily care composition as defined above for reducing sand adhesion to the skin.
[0192] Those skilled in the art recognize that the sunscreen or daily care composition may leave a sticky film on the skin after the sunscreen or daily care composition is applied, however, the sticky film causes the sand to stick more firmly to the skin, creating discomfort for the consumer.
[0193] It has therefore surprisingly been found that the sunscreen or daily care composition according to the invention as defined above can be used to reduce sand adhesion to the skin.
[0194] In another aspect, the present invention thus relates to the use of a sunscreen or daily care composition as defined above for application to sensitive skin.
[0195] In one embodiment of the use of the present invention, the sunscreen or daily care composition is applied to the skin in various forms, for example in the form of a gel, cream, oil, lotion, or sprayable product.
[0196] In a preferred embodiment of the use of the present invention, the sunscreen or daily care composition is provided in the form of a cream or a sprayable product. In a particularly preferred embodiment of the use of the present invention, the sunscreen or daily care composition as defined above is provided in the form of a sprayable product.
[0197] In a particularly preferred embodiment of the use of the present invention, the sunscreen or daily care composition as defined above is applied to sensitive skin. In this context, sensitive skin is defined as skin whose natural barrier function is weakened and which is damaged by a trigger. Possible triggers are cold weather, very hot water, emulsifiers or preservatives that are often contained in the sunscreen or daily care composition.
[0198] Therefore, in a preferred embodiment of the use of the present invention, the sunscreen or daily care composition defined above is applied without emulsifier. In this connection, it should be understood that due to the absence of emulsifier, these compositions are particularly suitable and preferred for application to sensitive skin. Therefore, the inventors of the present invention have surprisingly found that they can prepare a sunscreen or daily care composition that is free of emulsifier, is homogeneous and stable, and is particularly preferred for application to sensitive skin.
[0199] With respect to the above embodiments, it should be understood that a sunscreen or daily care composition is applied to the skin, particularly sensitive skin, to protect the sensitive skin from UV rays.
[0200] The present invention is further illustrated by the following examples. EXAMPLES

[0222] UV filter performance The wavelength of maximum absorbance (λmax) is an index of the performance of a UV filter molecule. It indicates the wavelength at which the absorbance is maximum. For UVA filters, the wavelength of maximum absorbance should be close to 359 nm, which corresponds to the peak of the PPD (persistent immediate darkening) efficacy spectrum. The PPD efficacy spectrum corresponds to the increase of the PPD (persistent immediate darkening) action spectrum as a function of light intensity (reference ISO 24443).
[0223] The UV transmission spectrum of each UV filter-emollient mixture was measured from 290-400 nm using a Perkin Elmer Lambda 25 UV / Visible Spectrophotometer. Three stock solutions with 1 mM concentration of UV filter were prepared for each mixture. In addition, three dilutions of each stock solution were prepared, resulting in a total of 9 measurements per UV filter-emollient solution. All solutions were then filled into a 1 cm path length, UV transparent quartz cuvette for UV transmission measurements.

[0228] Solubility Measurement Add 0.02 g of UV filter to 2 ml of each emollient listed below, previously filled into a capped 20 ml vial. Place the vial in a thermostated water bath (25° C.) and stir the blend for 7 days. If the UV filter to be tested is completely dissolved, add additional filter until precipitation is observed. After 7 days, centrifuge the sample at 13000 rpm for 30 minutes. If the supernatant is cloudy, filter through a 0.2 μm non-sterile Membrex 25 PET filter. Before measurement, the sample is diluted with an appropriate solvent or, in the case of low concentrations, without further dilution, measured in a quartz cuvette with a 1 cm path length. The concentration of the UV filter is then determined using UV / visible spectroscopy using a Perkin Elmer Lambda 20 instrument. [0231] Sand adhesion test For each sunscreen composition tested, the ingredients for Part A and Part B as shown in Table 5 below were combined and heated to 80°C, whereupon Part A was added to Part B with stirring and further homogenized. The sunscreen compositions were then cooled to room temperature with stirring. Parts C and D were added and the pH of each composition was adjusted to 6.5-7.00 with NaOH.

[0233] Comparative composition 3, as well as compositions 7, 8 and 9, were tested for their ability to prevent or at least minimize sand build-up on the skin following application of the sunscreen composition. The following method was used:
[0234] 50 mg of the test formulation was applied to a PMMA plate (Helioscreen) measuring 5.0 cm x 5.0 cm by applying with the hand as evenly as possible. The plate was left in the dark for 15 minutes to allow the water to evaporate and equilibrate to achieve film formation before further processing. After the equilibration period, each single plate was weighed using an analytical balance. The sample was covered with 10 g of sand (reference: 1.07711.1000 sea sand, Merck KGaA). This amount allows the coverage of more than the entire PMMA plate. The plate was then placed from a horizontal position to a vertical position equivalent to a 90° rotation and kept in the vertical position for 5 seconds. The same steps were repeated for each side of the plate. The plate with the remaining sand attached was weighed again and the amount of sand attached was calculated according to the following formula: Sand attached to plate (mg) = plate after contact with sand (mg) - plate covered with sunscreen (mg)
[0235] The sand adhesion rates for each composition are shown in Table 6.
[0236] [Table 19]
[0237] Comparative composition 3 exhibits stronger adhesion to sand than compositions 7, 8 and 9 of the invention.
[0238] Colorimetric Testing For each sunscreen composition tested, the Part A ingredients and Part B ingredients shown in Table 7 below were combined and heated to 80°C, where Part A was added to Part B with stirring and further homogenized. The sunscreen compositions were then cooled to room temperature with stirring. Parts C and D were added and the pH of each composition was adjusted to 6.5-7.00 with NaOH.
[0239] [Table 20] TIFF0007676312000034.tif65157
[0240] Comparative composition 4, as well as compositions 10 and 11, were tested for their color. As a general rule, the lighter the color of the product, the more consumer acceptance of the product. The following method was used:
[0241] L * a * b * The color of cosmetic sunscreen formulations is evaluated based on the determination of color space parameters. Using this method, the color difference between several samples can be determined on a numerical basis. * a * b * In the system, L corresponds to lightness, a to the red / green coordinate and b to the yellow / blue coordinate. The advantage of this method is that it is independent of the device used for the measurement. A transparent Petri dish (58 x 15 mm) is filled with the formulation to be measured. The lid is carefully placed on the Petri dish to avoid air bubbles under the lid. The L of the Petri dish containing the sunscreen is * a * b * The parameters are measured using a Remission Spectrometer Datacolor SF400 (D65 illuminant, observer 10°). Sunscreens very often exhibit a yellow color that is undesirable to the end consumer. To increase consumer compliance, sunscreens should be as free of yellowing as possible. Therefore, the parameter b is used for the evaluation of the yellow color of the formulation. * Take b * The higher the value, the more yellow the hue is measured.
[0242] Table 8 below shows the color ratings of Comparative Composition 4, and Compositions 9 and 10.
[0243] [Table 21]
[0244] b * As can be seen from the values, the color of comparative composition 4 is much more yellow than the colors of compositions 10 and 11 of the present invention.
