Abstract

To provide improved rotor blades and turbomachines.SOLUTION: A rotor blade includes a platform and an airfoil 52 extending radially from a root proximate to the platform to a tip. The airfoil 52 further includes a pressure side surface 54 extending between a leading edge and a trailing edge. The airfoil 52 also includes a suction side surface 56 disposed opposite the pressure side surface 54 and extending between the leading edge and the trailing edge. The leading edge, the trailing edge, the pressure side surface 54 and the suction side surface 56 collectively define a first profile at the tip and a second profile radially inward of the tip. The first profile includes a suction side overhang 106, a pressure side overhang and a pressure side underhang 110 relative to the second profile.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
