To give an appropriate notification according to conditions of a closing route or an opening / closing body.SOLUTION: A closing mechanism in this invention comprises an opening / closing body 10 that makes a closing action, an open-sate-detecting means which detects the opening / closing body 10 being at an open position, and an object-sensing means that senses an object x existing in the closing route of the opening / closing body 10 or near the closing route. The closing mechanism, when the aforesaid open-state-detecting means confirms the open state and furthermore the aforesaid object-sensing means senses the object x, judges whether the opening / closing body 10 is stationary or not, and gives a first notification of a possibility of closing failure in the case the opening / closing body 10 is stationary, or gives a second notification of the operation status of the opening / closing body 10 in the case the opening / closing body 10 is not stopped provided the opening / closing body 10 is in a closing action.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
