AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

In rail-guided vehicle systems, accurately determining the deviation from a predetermined stopping position is crucial for proper item placement, as misalignment requires adjustments in transfer operations, necessitating detection of positional deviations.

Method used

The system incorporates position recognition marks on rails and sensors to detect deviations, allowing the control unit to adjust the vehicle's position and orientation, ensuring accurate transfer operations by controlling the vehicle's movement and transfer device.

Benefits of technology

This solution enables precise alignment of the rail-guided vehicle at the correct stopping position, facilitating accurate transfer of objects despite initial misalignment, enhancing operational efficiency.

Abstract

This overhead traveling vehicle system comprises: a rail guided cart that moves in a first direction when a traveling unit travels on a pair of first rails, and that moves in a second direction when the traveling unit travels on a pair of second rails; and a cart controller that controls the rail guided cart. The pair of first rails and the pair of second rails are provided with position recognition marks. The rail guided cart is disposed to face the position recognition marks, and has four position recognition sensors that are disposed to face the position recognition marks. The cart controller derives, on the basis of position information acquired by the position recognition sensors, a deviation amount between a predetermined position in a cell and a stop position of the rail guided cart.
