[Figure 8] FIG. 10 is a perspective view of a fence mounting structure according to a modified example. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0008] A first embodiment of the present disclosure will be described in detail below with reference to the drawings. As shown in FIG. 1 , in a fence mounting structure 1 of the first embodiment, a new fence 3 is disposed outside the site where an existing fence 2 is to be installed. A fence 10 is configured by attaching the new fence to the existing fence 2. The front side of FIG. 1 indicates the outside of the site, and the back side indicates the inside of the site. In this specification, the side of the site separated by the fence 10 is referred to as the inside, and the side opposite the site is referred to as the outside, with respect to the boundary between the site and the outside of the site. Outside the site may be, for example, a road surface or the site of another owner. The thickness direction of the fence 10 refers to the direction from the inside to the outside of the site. The fence mounting structure 1 includes an existing fence 2, a new fence 3, a connection part 4, and a cable tie 6.

[0009] The existing fence 2 is installed to separate an outdoor area and includes posts 21, vertical reinforcement bars 22, and horizontal reinforcement bars 23. The posts 21 are long, rectangular cylindrical members fixed to an installation surface 24 and extending upward. The installation surface 24 is the upper surface of the foundation of the fence to which the posts 21 are fixed. In this embodiment, the installation surface 24 is formed above the ground. The vertical reinforcement bars 22 and horizontal reinforcement bars 23 are strips of metal with smaller outer diameters than the posts 21. The vertical reinforcement bars 22 extend in the up-down direction, and the horizontal reinforcement bars 23 extend in the left-right direction when viewed from the front of the fence 10, and are arranged so as to intersect with each other. The vertical reinforcement bars 22 and horizontal reinforcement bars 23 are arranged in a lattice pattern and supported by the posts 21.

[0010] The new fence 3 is a separate component from the existing fence 2. The new fence 3 has a frame 31 and a panel 32. The frame 31 has a pair of vertical frames 311 extending vertically at both ends of the new fence 3 in a front view, and horizontal frames 312 connecting the vertical frames 311 at the upper and lower ends. Overall, the frame 31 forms a substantially rectangular edge. The lower horizontal frame 312 forms the lower end of the new fence 3, whose lower end is supported by the installation surface 24 of the existing fence 2. The panel 32 is formed by arranging thin, rectangular plates 321, each extending horizontally, vertically. Gaps 322 are formed between the plates 321. Because the panel 32 is formed by arranging the plates 321, attaching the new fence 3 to the existing lattice-like fence 2 makes it difficult to see the site from the outside.

[0011] The connection part 4 is a metal fitting that connects and secures the existing fence 2 and the new fence 3. The connection part 4 abuts and is secured to the existing fence 2 and the new fence 3, and is formed in a roughly U-shape in plan view, as shown in Figure 2. The connection part 4 has an existing fence fixing part 41, a new fence fixing part 42, a connecting part 43, and a corner part 44.

[0012] The existing fence fixing portion 41 is a flat plate-shaped member that is fixed to the vertical reinforcement 22 of the existing fence 2. The existing fence fixing portion 41 has a fixing portion 411, a sub-plate 412, a plurality of screws 413, fixing holes 414, and a fixing position changing portion 415.

[0013] As shown in FIGS. 4A and 4B, the fixing portion 411 is formed in a substantially U-shape when viewed from the front when attached to the existing fence 2. As shown in FIG. 4A, the fixing portion 411 is arranged so as to abut against one side of the vertical reinforcement 22 in the thickness direction of the fence 10. In the first embodiment, the fixing portion 411 abuts against the surface of the vertical reinforcement 22 on the inner side of the site. The fixing portion 411 has a first fixing surface 4111, a second fixing surface 4112, and a vertical fixing surface 4113. The first fixing surface 4111, the second fixing surface 4112, and the vertical fixing surface 4113 are formed from a single continuous plate-like member.

[0014] The first fixing surface 4111 is a horizontally long plate that extends in the left-right direction above the fixing portion 411 when the existing fence fixing portion 41 is fixed to the existing fence 2. The second fixing surface 4112 is a horizontally long plate that extends in the left-right direction below the fixing portion 411. The second fixing surface 4112 is disposed below the first fixing surface 4111 with a space between them. The first fixing surface 4111 and the second fixing surface 4112 are disposed so as to sandwich a plurality of vertical reinforcement bars 22 between them and the sub-plate 412, which will be described later. For example, the first fixing surface 4111 and the second fixing surface 4112 have a length that allows them to straddle two vertical reinforcement bars 22 that are disposed with a space between them.

[0015] The vertical fixing surface 4113 is disposed at one longitudinal end of the first fixing surface 4111 and the second fixing surface 4112, and is a portion that connects the first fixing surface 4111 and the second fixing surface 4112 in the up-down direction. The vertical fixing surface 4113 has a notch 4114 and a claw 4115.

[0016] The cutout 4114 is formed by cutting out the center of the vertical fixing surface 4113 in the up-down direction. The cutout 4114 is arranged to divide the vertical fixing surface 4113 into upper and lower parts, and is formed continuous with the connecting portion 43 described below. The upper and lower parts of the vertical fixing surface 4113 and the first fixing surface 4111 and second fixing surface 4112 are connected by the surface surrounding the cutout 4114 of the connecting portion 43. The cutout 4114 is formed to allow the horizontal reinforcing bars 23 to be avoided if they are arranged in an obstructive position. It is not necessary to arrange the horizontal reinforcing bars 23 in the cutout 4114, but this cutout 4114 is used when the horizontal reinforcing bars 23 are located where you want to attach the connecting portion 4. Arranging the horizontal reinforcing bars 23 in the cutout 4114 increases the fixing strength of the existing fence fixing portion 41 to the existing fence 2.

[0017] The claws 4115 are arranged at the top and bottom of the notch 4114 in the vertical center of the vertical fixing surface 4113. The claws 4115 are formed to protrude from the vertical fixing surface 4113 to the other side in the thickness direction of the fence 10, i.e., toward the inside of the roughly U-shaped connecting portion 4. The claws 4115 are not formed on the back surfaces of the first fixing surface 4111 and the second fixing surface 4112. By protruding the claws 4115 toward the back side of the vertical fixing surface 4113, i.e., toward the inside of the U-shaped connecting portion 4, the fixing portion 411 and the claws 4115 are arranged to surround the vertical reinforcement 22. The claws 4115, on the back side of the fixing portion 411, regulate the left-right position of the fixing portion 411 relative to the vertical reinforcement 22, thereby determining the left-right position of the fixing portion 411.

[0018] The sub-plate 412 is a horizontally long plate whose longitudinal and lateral dimensions are smaller than those of the first fixing surface 4111 and the second fixing surface 4112. The sub-plate 412 is arranged to abut against the other side of the vertical reinforcement 22 in the thickness direction of the fence 10. The sub-plate 412 is arranged on the back side of the fixing portion 411, i.e., inside a recess formed in the connecting portion 4 that is approximately U-shaped in plan view, so as to face the fixing portion 411. The sub-plate 412 is fixed to the fixing portion 411 with a plurality of screws 413, which will be described later. The sub-plate 412 is fixed to the back side of either the first fixing surface 4111 or the second fixing surface 4112, whichever is selected. In this embodiment, the sub-plate 412 is arranged on the back side of the first fixing surface 4111.

[0019] The fixing holes 414 are formed in both the fixing portion 411 and the sub-plate 412. The fixing holes 414 are holes through which a plurality of screws 413 (described later) can pass to fix the fixing portion 411 and the sub-plate 412 together. The fixing holes 414 include a fixing portion fixing hole 4141 and a sub-plate fixing hole 4142. The fixing portion fixing holes 4141 are formed at the ends of the first fixing surface 4111 and the second fixing surface 4112 on the longitudinal fixing surface 4113 side. A female thread is formed on the inner periphery of the fixing portion fixing hole 4141. The sub-plate fixing hole 4142 is formed at one longitudinal end of the sub-plate 412. The fixing portion fixing hole 4141 and the sub-plate fixing hole 4142 have the same inner diameter.

[0020] Each of the multiple screws 413 has a shank 413a and a shank head 413b with an outer diameter larger than that of the shank 413a. Of the multiple screws 413, one screw 413 is fastened with the shank 413a aligned along the inward / outward direction of the site, with the vertical reinforcing bars 22 sandwiched between the fixing part 411 and the sub-plate 412. The screw 413 on one side is fastened with the vertical reinforcing bars 22 sandwiched between the connecting part 43 (described later) and the shank 413a of the screw 413. In other words, the screw 413 on one side is fastened with the vertical reinforcing bars 22 positioned within the space surrounded by the shank 413a of the screw 413, the connecting part 43 (described later), the fixing part 411, and the sub-plate 412. The screw 413 on one side is inserted from the sub-plate 412 side and fixed by penetrating the fixing hole 414.

[0021] The fixing position change portion 415 is composed of two through holes 415a, 415b arranged at a distance from each other along the longitudinal direction of the fixing portion 411, and two through holes 415c, 415d arranged at a distance from each other along the longitudinal direction of the sub-plate 412. Female threads are formed on the inner peripheries of the through holes 415a, 415b formed in the fixing portion 411. The fixing position change portion 415 is formed to the same size as the fixing hole 414 and is arranged at a distance from the fixing hole 414 in the left-right direction of the fence 10. The distance between the two through holes 415a, 415b and between the through holes 415c, 415d are shorter than the distance between the fixing hole 414 and the through holes 415b, 415d on the fixing hole 414 side of the fixing position change portion 415. The other screw 413 of the plurality of screws 413 that is fastened at a position spaced apart from the fixing hole 414 in the left-right direction is fixed to the fixing position changing portion 415 .

[0022] As shown in FIG. 4A , the fixing portion 411 and the sub-plate 412 are fixed with the vertical reinforcing bars 22 sandwiched between them. At this time, a second vertical reinforcing bar 22 extending vertically is positioned adjacent to the vertical reinforcing bar 22 secured by the screw 413 inserted through the fixing hole 414, laterally spaced from the fixing hole 414. The fixing hole 414 and the through-holes of the fixing position change portion 415 are pre-formed in the existing fence fixing portion 41. The vertical reinforcing bars 22 are spaced at various intervals depending on the fence 10. For this reason, if the fixing position change portion 415 only has one through-hole, if that through-hole overlaps with another adjacent vertical reinforcing bar 22, it will be impossible to fasten the screw 413 through the through-hole on the fixing position change portion 415 side. This will prevent the fixing portion 411 and the sub-plate 412 from being fixed at two points. If the fixing portion 411 and the sub-plate 412 could only be fixed at one point, the components constituting the connection portion 4 would rotate around the vertical reinforcement 22, resulting in unstable fixation. The fixing position change portion 415 is configured with two through-holes, allowing the fixing position of the screw 413 on the other side to be changed. Even if the position of another adjacent vertical reinforcement 22 overlaps with one of the through-holes in the fixing position change portion 415, the fixing portion 411 and the sub-plate 412 can be fixed at two points by inserting the screw 413 into the other through-hole. In FIG. 2 , none of the through-holes 415a and 415b in the fixing position change portion 415 (and the through-holes 415c and 415d located behind the through-holes 415a and 415b) overlap with the vertical reinforcement 22. In such a case, the screw 413 may be fastened to either of the through-holes 415a and 415b (and the through-holes 415a and 415b). By fixing at two points, the vertical reinforcement bars 22 adjacent in the left-right direction can be stably sandwiched between the fixing portion 411 and the sub-plate 412.

[0023] The new fence fixing portion 42 is a plate-shaped member fixed to the new fence 3. The new fence fixing portion 42 has a new fence abutment surface 421, a frame engagement surface 422, a notch groove 423, and a first slit hole 51. The new fence abutment surface 421 is a thin, approximately rectangular plate surface that abuts against the surface of the vertical frame 311 of the new fence 3 on the inside of the site. The new fence abutment surface 421 is positioned opposite the fixed portion 411. The frame engagement surface 422 is a surface that bends from a free end on one side of the new fence abutment surface 421 in the left-right direction toward the opposite side of the fixed portion 411. The frame engagement surface 422 extends along the surface of the vertical frame 311 in the thickness direction of the fence 10 and is positioned so that it can engage with the surface of the vertical frame 311 in the thickness direction. The notch groove 423 is formed in a position opposite a fixing hole 414 formed in the fixed portion 411. The notched groove 423 is formed by cutting out a roughly U-shape in the new fence abutment surface 421. The notched groove 423 is formed so that the shank of a screwdriver does not interfere when fastening the screw 413 in the fixing hole 414.

[0024] The connecting portion 43 is a surface that connects the existing fence fixing portion 41 and the new fence fixing portion 42. The connecting portion 43 extends along the thickness direction of the fence 10. A portion of the connecting portion 43 that continues to the existing fence fixing portion 41 is cut out continuing from the notch 4114 formed in the vertical fixing surface 4113, forming a roughly U-shaped opening in the vertical center. The connecting portion 43 has a second slit hole 52.

[0025] The corner portion 44 is a portion where the new fence fixing portion 42 and the connecting portion 43 are connected in a generally L-shape in plan view. At the corner portion 44, the new fence fixing portion 42 and the connecting portion 43 are connected at an angle of, for example, approximately 90 degrees.

[0026] The slit 5 is a collective term for the first slit 51 formed in the new fence fixing portion 42 and the second slit 52 formed in the connecting portion 43. The slit 5 is a thin through-hole that extends in the vertical direction when the connecting portion 4 is attached to the new fence 3 and the existing fence 2. As shown in FIG. 4B , the first slit 51 extends in the vertical direction along the edge 42a that faces the edge 44a on which the corner 44 of the new fence fixing portion 42 is located. The second slit 52 extends in the vertical direction along the edge 44a on which the corner 44 of the connecting portion 43 is located.

[0027] The cable tie 6 has a length that allows it to be inserted through the first slit hole 51 and the second slit hole 52 and engage with the end of the new fence 3. By inserting the cable tie 6 through the first slit hole 51 and the second slit hole 52, it is connected to the new fence fixing part 42 and the connecting part 43. The cable tie 6 is string- or band-shaped and made of a material that is easily deformed. The cable tie 6 connects and secures the new fence 3 to the existing fence 2 via the connecting part 43. For this reason, it is preferable that the cable tie 6 be made of a material with high rigidity and strength. For example, it can be made of metal.

[0028] The fence installation method will be described. First, the existing fence fixing portion 41 of the connection portion 4 is fixed to the existing fence 2 (existing fence fixing step S1). Specifically, the vertical reinforcement bars 22 are positioned so that they contact the connecting portion 43, and the vertical reinforcement bars 22 are positioned inside the claw portions 4115. At the same time, the first fixing surface 4111 and the second fixing surface 4112 are positioned on the inside side of the vertical reinforcement bars 22. Next, the sub-plate 412 is positioned on the back side of either the first fixing surface 4111 or the second fixing surface 4112. Then, screws 413 are inserted into the fixing holes 414 from the sub-plate 412 side and fastened. At this time, the vertical reinforcement bars 22 are positioned relative to the existing fence fixing portion 41 so that they are surrounded by the connecting portion 43, fixing portion 411, sub-plate 412, and claw portions 4115, and are fixed with the screws 413 passing through the fixing holes 414. Furthermore, if the position of the vertical reinforcing bars 22 overlaps with any of the through holes 415a, 415b, 415c, and 415d of the fixing position changing part 415, the through holes 415a, 415b, 415c, and 415d are shifted to avoid the vertical reinforcing bars 22. Furthermore, if the horizontal reinforcing bars 23 overlap with the connecting part 4, it is preferable to position the horizontal reinforcing bars 23 so that they pass through the notches 4114 formed in the vertical fixing surface 4113.

[0029] Next, the new fence fixing portion 42 is brought into contact with the surface of the new fence 3 on the inside of the site (abutting step S2). Then, the cable ties 6 are inserted through the first slit holes 51 and the second slit holes 52 (cable tie insertion step S3). The cable ties 6 may be inserted through the slit holes 5 while the new fence fixing portion 42 is in contact with the new fence 3. Alternatively, the cable ties 6 may be inserted through the slit holes 5 in advance. Next, the cable ties 6 are wrapped around and engaged with the end of the new fence 3, specifically, around the vertical frame 311. The cable ties 6 are passed through the gaps 322 between the plates 321 to secure the vertical frame 311 and the new fence fixing portion 42. As a result, the new fence 3 and the new fence fixing portion 42 of the connection portion 4 are connected to the connecting portion 43, and the new fence 3 is secured to the existing fence 2 via the connecting portion 43 (securing step S4).

[0030] The first embodiment provides the following advantages. The fence mounting structure 1 is a mounting structure for a fence 10 configured by attaching a new fence 3 to an existing fence 2 having vertical reinforcement bars 22 and horizontal reinforcement bars 23 arranged in a grid pattern. The fence mounting structure 1 includes an existing fence fixing portion 41 that is fixed to the existing fence 2, a new fence fixing portion 42 that is fixed to the new fence 3, a connecting portion 43 that connects the existing fence fixing portion 41 and the new fence fixing portion 42 and extends in the thickness direction of the fence 10, and slit holes 5 that are formed in each of the new fence fixing portion 42 and the connecting portion 43 and extend in the vertical direction. The new fence 3 is connected to the new fence fixing portion 42 and the connecting portion 43 with cable ties 6 that pass through the slit holes 5 and engage with the ends of the new fence 3, and is fixed to the existing fence 2 via the connecting portion 43. By passing a cable tie 6 through the slit hole 5, the new fence fixing part 42 and the connecting part 43 can be connected to the new fence 3, and the existing fence 2 can be attached to the new fence 3 via the connecting part 43. This eliminates the need to drill holes in the new fence 3 with an electric drill or use large tools for construction, improving workability.

[0031] According to the first embodiment, the new fence fixing portion 42 and the connecting portion 43 further include a corner portion 44 that is connected to form a generally L-shape in plan view. The slit hole 5 includes a first slit hole 51 extending vertically along the edge 42a of the new fence fixing portion 42 that faces the edge 44a where the corner portion 44 is located, and a second slit hole 52 extending vertically along the edge 44a of the connecting portion 43 where the corner portion 44 is located. By inserting a cable tie 6 through the first slit hole 51 formed in the edge 42a facing the corner 44 of the new fence fixing portion 42 and the second slit hole 52 formed on the edge 44a of the connecting portion 43 where the corner 44 is located, the new fence fixing portion 42 can be secured by wrapping the cable tie 6 around the periphery of the new fence 3 while in surface contact with the end of the new fence 3. Therefore, even when secured using the cable tie 6, the securing strength can be improved.

[0032] According to the first embodiment, the fence installation method is a method for installing a fence 10 by attaching a new fence 3 to an existing fence 2 configured with vertical reinforcement bars 22 and horizontal reinforcement bars 23 arranged in a grid pattern, and the fence installation method includes an existing fence fixing part 41 fixed to the existing fence 2, a new fence fixing part 42 fixed to the new fence 3, a connecting part 43 connecting the existing fence fixing part 41 and the new fence fixing part 42 and extending in the thickness direction of the fence 10, and slit holes 5 formed in each of the new fence fixing part 42 and the connecting part 43 and extending in the up-and-down direction. The fence installation method includes an existing fence fixing step (S1) of fixing an existing fence fixing portion 41 to an existing fence 2, an abutting step (S2) of abutting a new fence fixing portion 42 to a new fence 3, a cable tie insertion step (S3) of inserting a cable tie 6 through a slit hole 5, and a fixing step (S4) of engaging the cable tie 6 with the end of the new fence 3 to secure the new fence 3 to the existing fence 2. By passing the cable tie 6 through the slit hole 5, the new fence fixing portion 42 and the connecting portion 43 can be connected to the new fence 3, and the existing fence 2 can be attached to the new fence 3 via the connecting portion 43. This eliminates the need to drill holes in the new fence 3 with an electric drill or use large tools for installation. This improves installation workability and achieves the same effects as those described above.

[0033] The present disclosure is not limited to the above-described embodiments, and modifications, improvements, and the like within the scope of achieving the object of the present disclosure are included in the present disclosure. In a fence mounting structure 1A of a second embodiment shown in FIG. 5, a fence 10A is configured by placing a new fence 3 inside the site where an existing fence 2 is to be installed. The front side of FIG. 5 represents the outside of the site, and the back side represents the inside of the site. As shown in FIGS. 6 and 7, an existing fence fixing portion 41 is placed on the inside surface of the site of the existing fence 2. The vertical reinforcement bars 22 are arranged relative to the existing fence fixing portion 41 so as to be surrounded by the connecting portion 43, fixing portion 411, sub-plate 412, and claw portion 4115, and are fixed by screws 413 passing through fixing holes 414. The screws 413 are fixed through through holes 415a, 415b, 415c, and 415d of the fixing position change portion 415. At this time, unlike the first embodiment, the screw 413 is fastened so that the shaft head 413b faces inside the premises and the end of the shaft portion 413a faces outside the premises. The new fence 3 is abutted against the outer surface of the new fence fixing portion 42 and fixed with the cable tie 6.

[0034] According to the second embodiment, the new fence 3 can be seen when looking outside the site from a building on the site, improving the scenery seen by people on the site. In addition, the support posts 21 of the existing fence 2 are positioned between the existing fence 2 and the new fence 3. If the new fence 3 is installed avoiding the support posts 21, the new fence 3 will be positioned further inward than the existing fence 2. However, because the new fence 3 is located within the site, there is no concern that the structure will extend outside the site.

[0035] 4A, the connecting part 4 has a symmetrical shape above and below the cutout 4114. Therefore, whether the new fence 3 is placed inside or outside the site of the existing fence 2, the same connecting part 4 can be used by turning it upside down.

[0036] Furthermore, the fixing portion 411 of the connecting portion 4 has a first fixing surface 4111 and a second fixing surface 4112. When placing the connecting portions 4 on both the left and right ends of the new fence 3, the connecting portion 4 fixed to the left side and the connecting portion 4 fixed to the right side are fixed at 180-degree inverted positions. By placing a sub-plate 412 on the back side of the first fixing surface 4111 on one side of the fixing portions 411 of the left and right connecting portions 4 and on the back side of the second fixing surface 4112 on the other side and fastening them with screws 413, the height at which the connecting portions 4 are fixed to the existing fence 2 can be made the same on the left and right sides.

[0037] Furthermore, for ease of explanation, Figures 1 and 5 show only one new fence 3 installed, but in reality, it is conceivable that multiple new fences 3 will be connected in the left-right direction, as shown in Figure 8. In this case, the connecting parts 4 of adjacent new fences 3 should be arranged so that they face opposite each other. Because the connecting parts 43 of the connecting parts 4 are thin plates, even when the connecting parts 43 are brought into contact with each other, large gaps are unlikely to form between adjacent new fences 3.

[0038] In the above embodiment, the fixing position change portion 415 is configured by two lined up through holes 415a, 415b and two lined up through holes 415c, 415d in each of the fixing portion 411 and the sub-plate 412. However, the fixing position change portion is not limited to two through holes as long as it can change its position to a position spaced apart in the left-right direction from the fixing hole 414 and can be fixed while avoiding the vertical stripes. The number of through holes may be three or more. The through holes may be formed as elongated holes that are long in the left-right direction and may be fixed using screws and nuts in a location where there are no vertical stripes.

[0039] In the above embodiment, the multiple screws 413 are fastened by penetrating the fixing portion 411 and the sub-plate 412, but this is not limiting. For example, the fixing position change portion 415 may be configured as a recessed portion with a female thread formed therein, and the screws may be fastened in this recessed portion.
