AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Conventional coaxial connectors experience reduced signal quality and unstable electrical connections due to misalignment between the plug and receptacle, leading to high-frequency signal leakage and decreased contact load.

Method used

The coaxial connector design features a plug with a rod-shaped conductive first contact and a receptacle with a second contact that includes wide contact portions and an elastic extension body, allowing for misalignment absorption in both directions, ensuring stable electrical connection through elastic deformation and wide contact shapes.

Benefits of technology

The design ensures reliable electrical connection and high shielding performance by absorbing misalignment, preventing signal leakage and maintaining contact load even with relative misalignment, thus ensuring stable signal transmission.

Abstract

To provide a coaxial connector that can stably guarantee electrical connection even if positional deviation occurs between a plug and a receptacle.SOLUTION: A coaxial connector comprises a plug 10B and a receptacle A that are electrically connected with each other. The plug 10B includes a first contact 1, a holder 2, a first cylindrical shell 3, and a shield member 7. The receptacle A includes a second contact 5, a case 9, and a second cylindrical shell 8. The second contact 5 has a bottom part 51, a pair of erected parts 52, and an extension body 53. The pair of erected parts 52 include a contact part 52b2 formed in a wide shape allowing clamping an end 12 of the first contact 1. The extension body 53 includes a leading end part 53a fixed to the substrate 102, a hold part 53b held on the case 9, and an elastically deformable elastic part 53c. The elastic part 53c is elastically deformable in a direction orthogonal to an extension direction of the contact part 52b2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
