Technical Field

[0001] The present invention relates to an unpleasant odor inhibitor during the use of a hair dye or hair bleaching agent composition that contains an alkanolamine as an alkali agent and does not contain ammonia and ammonium salts. [Claim 1] An odor-suppressing agent for use in a hair dye or bleaching agent composition containing an alkanolamine as an alkaline agent and not containing ammonia and ammonium salts, wherein the odor-suppressing agent is (A) hydroxyethanediphosphonic acid and (B) potassium alum, and the content of component (A) in the hair dye or bleaching agent composition is 0.05 to 1% by mass, and the content of component (B) is 0.5 to 2% by mass.
