AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Conventional bellows-type compressors face reduced lifespan due to failures in check valves and valves leading to excessive consumption or leakage of pressurized fluid, resulting in dry running and damage to the bellows.

Method used

A bellows-type gas compressor design featuring a balance piston that equalizes internal pressures, a variable displacement hydraulic pump, and control mechanisms to manage the movement and pressure of the bellows, along with hydraulic dampers and position sensors to prevent excessive displacement and fluid leakage.

Benefits of technology

Prevents damage to the bellows by controlling the movement and pressure within predetermined limits, thereby extending the lifespan of the compressor.

Abstract

To prevent a reduction in the life of a bellows in a bellows type gas compressor.SOLUTION: A bellows type gas compressor comprises: a pressurized container 1 filled with a pressurized fluid; a bellows 2 partitioning a portion inside the pressurized container 1, to which gas to be compressed is supplied, and capable of extending and contracting; a pump 18 for increasing pressure inside the pressurized container 1; and a balance piston 6 partitioning the inside of the pressurized container 1 into a space 7b outside the bellows 2, and a space 7a in which the pressure is increased by the pump 18. The balance piston 6 transmits the pressure increased by the pump 18, to the pressurized fluid outside the bellows.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
