Sorting system and sorting method

Abstract

A sorting system and sorting method, wherein the sorting system includes a sorting mechanism, storage shelves, a transfer shelf, a first robot, and a second robot, the storage shelves include a plurality of storage layers, each storage layer includes a plurality of container openings, each container opening is for storing one container to be loaded, the transfer shelf is for temporarily storing full containers or empty containers awaiting replenishment, the sorting mechanism is installed between two rows of storage shelves and is arranged to receive cargo to be sorted and transport the cargo to be sorted into containers on the storage shelves, the first robot is arranged to move full containers or empty containers in and out between the storage shelves and the transfer shelf, the second robot is arranged to move full containers or empty containers in and out between the transfer shelf and the container transfer station, and the storage shelves include a plurality of beams installed at vertical intervals, the first robot being mounted on the outside of the storage shelves by the beams. According to the embodiment of the present invention, automatic container exchange of the sorting system can be realized, improving sorting efficiency and the space utilization rate of the sorting system.
