Description

Amino group-containing copolymer

[0001] The present invention relates to an amino group-containing copolymer, and more particularly to an amino group-containing copolymer useful for detergent applications such as liquid detergents and powder detergents.

[0002] For sebum stains and other stains adhering to clothing, pre-treating the fabric with a compound that adsorbs to the fabric can be expected to make the stains easier to remove during washing. This function is called soil release. Various compounds that exhibit soil release properties have been proposed. For example, Patent Document 1 discloses that a polymer composed of a (meth)acrylic acid ester having primary to tertiary amino groups and an unsaturated bond-containing monomer having a hydrophobic group has excellent soil release properties for cotton fabrics. For example, Patent Document 2 discloses that a composition containing a polymer having a quaternary ammonium group and a hydrophilic group has a soil release effect on cotton fabrics.

For example, soil release agents, antibacterial agents, and anti-redeposition agents are used in detergents for fibers and hard surfaces. Detergents here include detergents for household clothing, kitchens, homes, the textile industry, and other industrial uses. The present invention also relates to a method for using the amino group-containing copolymer as a soil release agent, antibacterial agent, or anti-redeposition agent. In the above method, it is preferable to contact the amino group-containing copolymer with an object to be cleaned. The present invention also relates to a method for producing a soil release agent, the production method including a step of mixing the amino group-containing copolymer with a surfactant.

[0086] [Soil release agent of the present disclosure] The soil release agent of the present disclosure is a soil release agent containing the amino group-containing copolymer of the present disclosure. Soil release property is detergency performance that can be measured by the method described in the examples below. The soil release agent of the present disclosure can be effective under both immersion conditions and washing conditions.

[0087] The soil release agent of the present disclosure may be the amino group-containing copolymer of the present disclosure alone, or may contain, in addition to the amino group-containing copolymer of the present disclosure, any additive commonly used in detergents, without particular limitation. [0091] The reason why the antibacterial agent of the present disclosure exhibits antibacterial properties by including such an amino group-containing copolymer is presumed to be as follows: When the antibacterial agent of the present invention is applied to microorganisms, the cationic groups derived from the structural units represented by the general formula (1) possessed by the amino group-containing copolymer are adsorbed to the negatively charged surface of the microorganism. Furthermore, it is presumed that the hydrophobic groups possessed by the amino group-containing copolymer exhibit affinity for the cell membrane portion and interact with the cell membrane, thereby disrupting the interaction between lipids and the like constituting the cell membrane and / or inhibiting the function of proteins and the like bound to the membrane, thereby destroying the cells and / or inhibiting the physiological activity of the cells, thereby killing the microorganisms.

[0092] The antibacterial agent of the present disclosure may be the amino group-containing copolymer of the present disclosure alone, or may contain, in addition to the amino group-containing copolymer of the present disclosure, any additives used in conventional detergent compositions, without particular limitation. After the completion of all the droppings, the reaction solution was maintained at 70°C for an additional 60 minutes to mature, completing the polymerization and obtaining Copolymer 1. The results are shown in Table 1.

[0108] <Preparation Examples 2 to 20> Copolymers 2 to 20 were obtained by the same method as in Preparation Example 1, except that the amount of solvent, amount of monomer, type of monomer, and amount of initiator used in Preparation Example 1 were changed so as to obtain the compositions and molecular weights shown in Table 1. The types of monomers used in the polymerization of Preparation Examples 2 to 20 but not in Preparation Example 1 are listed below: lauryl methacrylate (trade name "Light Ester L" available from Kyoeisha Chemical Co., Ltd., hereinafter also referred to as LMA), butyl methacrylate (hereinafter also referred to as BMA), cyclohexyl methacrylate (hereinafter also referred to as CHMA), 2-ethylhexyl acrylate (hereinafter also referred to as 2EHA), and methoxypolyethylene glycol monomethacrylate (average number of moles of ethylene oxide added: 9, trade name "Blemmer PME-400" available from NOF Corporation, hereinafter also referred to as PGM9E). The results are shown in Table 1.

[0109]

[0110] Comparative Production Example 1: 33.3 g of 2-butanone was placed in a separable glass flask equipped with a thermometer, reflux condenser, and stirrer, and 10.00 g of DAM, 6.67 g of lauryl acrylate (hereinafter also referred to as LA), 33.33 g of PGM23E, and 0.80 g of V-65 were added and stirred for a certain period of time under a nitrogen atmosphere. The solution was heated to around 60°C and maintained at 60°C for 7 hours to polymerize and mature. 200.0 g of 2-butanone was added thereto for dilution, and then the temperature was lowered to room temperature. This reaction solution was added dropwise to 4000.0 g of n-hexane to perform reprecipitation purification, and the precipitate was dried to obtain Comparative Copolymer 1.

[0111] Comparative Production Example 2: 900 g of ethanol was placed in a separable glass flask equipped with a thermometer, reflux condenser, and stirrer, and 17.8 g of DAM, 7.2 g of lauryl methacrylate (hereinafter also referred to as LMA), and 10.6 g of 6.6% V-65 were added and stirred for a certain period of time under a nitrogen atmosphere. The solution was heated to around 60°C and maintained at 60°C for 8 hours to polymerize and mature. 50.0 g of ethanol was added thereto for dilution, and then the temperature was lowered to room temperature. This reaction solution was added dropwise to 2000.0 g of ion-exchanged water to perform reprecipitation purification, and the precipitate was dried to obtain Comparative Copolymer 2.
