Abstract

This utility model relates to road construction, specifically to stabilizing additives for stone mastic asphalt concrete mixtures. A cellulose stabilizing additive is proposed, obtained from waste paper by treatment with a solution of sodium dodecyl sulfate and sodium hypochlorite, followed by washing, drying, and grinding. The additive is added to the stone mastic asphalt concrete mixture at a rate of 0.4–0.8% by weight. The objective of the invention is to obtain a stabilizing additive for a crushed stone-mastic asphalt concrete mixture, which allows for a reduction in the runoff of the bitumen binder and an increase in the stability of the coating using a simplified technology for its production. The technical result consists in reducing the flow rate of the bitumen binder, increasing the resistance of the stone-mastic asphalt concrete mixture to rutting and improving the strength characteristics of the coating while eliminating an additional binding component and simplifying the technology for producing the additive. This technical result is achieved by the fact that the stabilizing additive is cellulose fibers obtained from paper waste by treatment with a solution of sodium dodecyl sulfate and sodium hypochlorite, followed by washing, drying and grinding, while the additive is introduced into the stone mastic asphalt concrete mixture in an amount of 0.4–0.8 wt.%.
