Abstract
The removal of organic contaminants, such as dyes and pharmaceuticals, from water requires low-cost adsorbent materials produced using a circular economy approach through waste valorization. The present invention describes a thermochemical method for obtaining an adsorbent material from magnetic cassette tapes and its application in the removal of organic contaminants from aqueous solution. This approach allows for the valorization of obsolete technological waste to obtain an adsorbent material that can be used in water treatment and purification processes. The adsorbent material exhibits magnetic properties that allow for its easy separation from the fluid by applying an external magnetic field.
