DUAL-MODULAR TRAP UTILITY MODEL FOR THE CAPTURE AND LETHAL BLOCKAGE OF GRAVID OR NON-GRAVID MALE AND FEMALE MOSQUITOES OF THE GENUS AEDES SPP

Abstract

A dual-modular trap for the lethal blocking of gravid or non-gravid male and female mosquitoes of the genus Aedes spp., comprising a container body (1) configured to retain a fluid (2) in a lower space (12); a removable lid (5, 5') adjustable to the opening of the container body (1), comprising a central opening (51) for mosquito entry into the interior of the container body (1); and a mesh (4) adjustable in a cross-section of the container body (1), wherein said mesh (4) divides the interior of the container body (1) into two spaces. The mesh (4) comprises a filter passage of between 0.5 x 0.5 to 2 x 2 mm, preferably between 0.92 to 1.6 mm, wherein the dual-modular trap also comprises a tubular conduit (6, 6') attachable to the central opening (51) of the removable lid (5, 5'), said base being coplanar and concentric to the central opening (51).The dual-modular trap also comprises an adhesive capture strip or strips (7, 7') for trapping mosquitoes that enter through an interior of the tubular conduit (6, 6').
