Abstract

The invention relates to a passive pressure system (100) for providing a passive pressure to an at least partly passive suspension (5) of a water movement compensating support (2) on a vessel (1). The passive pressure system (100) comprises a tandem cylinder (10), a hydraulicpneumatic accumulator (15), a tank (16) for hydraulic liquid, a valve assembly (21, 22, 23, 24) for operating the fluid communication of the intermediate chambers of the tandem cylinder with either the tank or the accumulator, and a valve controller (30) for controlling the valves of the valve assembly such that the output chamber of the tandem cylinder can be subjected to three different passive pressures used as passive pressure source for the at least partly passive suspension.
