System for preventing infusion pump alarms

Abstract

The invention concerns a system for reducing infusion pump alarms, which system comprises: - at least one patient terminal, each for assignment to a specific patient bed; - at least one central terminal; - a server; where at least one terminal, at least one central terminal and the server are connected to each other via a network for the exchange of data; where each patient terminal comprises input means for entering at least an infusion pump identifier, the amount of infusion fluid present in the relevant infusion pump and the infusion rate of the relevant infusion pump; where each patient terminal comprises means for visually displaying the remaining time for each relevant infusion pump, which remaining time is calculated on the basis of the entered amount of infusion fluid, the entered infusion rate as well as the elapsed time since entry;where the remaining time of each infusion pump is transmitted to the server via the network and where a sorting of the remaining times of the infusion pumps from at least one patient terminal is created on the server; and where the at least one central terminal includes means for visually displaying the sorting of remaining times created on the server.
