Abstract

The present utility model relates to a sustainable, solar-powered facility for the treatment of medical waste and its conversion into pavement bricks. The facility comprises a medical waste input module, a size-reduction assembly including a double-shaft crusher and granulator, an underground transfer tank, sanitation tanks equipped with an Advanced Oxidation Process (AOP) system, a trommel-based separation system, a cement mixer, a screw conveyor, a hydraulic pavement brick making machine, and an underground water storage tank. In operation, medical waste undergoes size reduction and is transferred to the sanitation tanks, wherein the AOP system generates hydroxyl radicals to disinfect and oxidize contaminants. The treated waste is then separated into liquid and solid fractions, with the liquid component directed to the water storage tank for treatment and recycling, and the solid component blended with cementitious materials and formed into pavement bricks using the hydraulic machine. The facility is powered by a hybrid solar energy system configured to support continuous operation, including in off-grid or limitedaccess areas. The utility model provides an integrated solution for safe medical waste treatment and resource recovery.
