[0001] The proposed invention relates to hydraulic devices, namely to powerful decorative dynamic fountains placed in natural bodies of water – rivers, reservoirs and lakes with a seasonally changing water surface level.

[0007] A floating platform is a structure containing specialized equipment (pumps, pressure manifolds, nozzles, water cannons, water screens, and lighting) necessary for the fountain's operation. It is anchored to the bottom of the pond at a specific location.

[0008] Since the power supply of the fountain pumps, located in a pond on a floating platform, is carried out by the voltage of the industrial network (220-380) V using an underwater high-voltage cable, its main disadvantage is the impossibility of satisfying the electrical safety rules for operation formulated in GOST R 50571.7.702-2013 / IEC 60364-7-702: 2010 Low-voltage electrical installations. Part 7. Requirements for special installations or their locations. Section 702. Swimming pools and fountains. Electronic resource: On the electrical safety of fountains - Megafontan megafontan.com > ob elektrobezopasnocti fontanov.

[0009] Another disadvantage of this method of placing a fountain on a floating platform is the seasonal drop in the water level of the reservoir in the fall. This requires early seasonal maintenance not only of the platform itself, but also the annual installation and removal of the numerous submersible pumps located on it. This shortens the fountain's operating season and degrades its operating conditions.

[0010] Furthermore, a method for placing a fountain with submersible pumps in a reservoir with a seasonally changing water surface level is known, which is a prototype of the proposed invention, consisting of placing it on a mobile floating platform (Electronic resource: Floating fountain in Oryol - fontangrad.fontangrad.ru / works / 2024 / plavayshiy-fontan-v-orle). The operability of the prototype fountain in conditions of changing water surface levels is ensured by moving its mobile floating platform from the shore following the receding water line. Moreover, the power supply of the submersible pumps of the prototype fountain, located on its mobile floating platform, is carried out with hazardous voltage of the industrial network (220-380) V via an underwater high-voltage cable. It should be noted that, in accordance with the instructions, the use of submersible pumps is permitted only in the case of a guaranteed absence of people in the reservoir, which is difficult to achieve in practice.

[0011] The main drawback of the prototype is the inability to meet the electrical safety requirements for its operation set forth in GOST R 50571.7.702-2013 / IEC 60364-7-702:2010 Low-voltage electrical installations. Part 7. Requirements for special installations or their locations. Section 702. Swimming pools and fountains (Electronic resource: On the electrical safety of fountains - Megafontan megafontan.com > ob elektrobezopasnocti fontanov ).

[0012] Other shortcomings of the prototype include the difficulty of moving its mobile floating platform from the shore following the receding waterline, as well as the need to place the fountain at a significant distance from the shore at the end of the operating season in autumn to ensure its buoyancy at the lowest water level in the reservoir. Furthermore, increasing the distance from the shore detracts from the fountain's artistic appeal. Addressing this shortcoming requires increasing the height of the fountain's jets and, consequently, increasing the capacity of its pumping equipment. Furthermore, significant inconveniences during operation of the prototype fountain include the need for seasonal mothballing and de-mothballing not only of the mobile floating platform itself but also the installation and dismantling of the numerous submersible pumps located on it. These shortcomings also lead to deterioration in the operating conditions of the fountain when placed in a reservoir with a fluctuating water level.

[0013] The objective (technical result) of the proposed invention is a method for placing a fountain in a reservoir with a changing water surface level, satisfying the requirements of electrical safety engineering and ensuring improvement of its operating conditions.

[0014] The solution to the stated problem is achieved by placing a fountain in a reservoir with a changing water surface level in its bowl, directly adjacent to the outer side of the retaining wall of the reservoir embankment, and the fountain bowl is placed on a stationary culvert structure so that it is raised relative to the bottom of the reservoir, and the fountain pumps are placed on the shore in an underground room located on the inner side of the retaining wall of the reservoir embankment opposite the fountain below the level of the bottom of its bowl, while the constancy of the water level in it is ensured by feeding through a siphon with a special pump from a water intake located in the reservoir.

[0015] A fountain in a reservoir with a changing water surface level is placed as follows.

[0016] In a reservoir, on the outer side of the embankment retaining wall, a fountain bowl is placed on a permanent culvert (such as, but not limited to, a pile grillage). It is elevated relative to the reservoir bottom and directly adjacent to the embankment retaining wall. On the shore, in an underground chamber located on the inner side of the embankment retaining wall, opposite the fountain, below the bowl bottom, its pumps are installed. These pumps are located under the bay and ready for operation.

[0017] Furthermore, a pump is also located in this room, ensuring a constant water level in the basin by feeding water through a siphon from a water intake located in the reservoir. Shut-off valves are located in the bottom of the basin, necessary for emptying it in the fall at the end of the fountain season.

[0018] Pressure manifolds, which form the fountain jets with nozzles, lighting fixtures, and supply pipes, are located in the fountain basin. The pressure manifolds are connected to the fountain pumps via supply pipes through the embankment retaining wall.

[0019] The fountain works as follows.

[0020] In the spring, at the beginning of the operating season, a pump located on the shore in an underground room on the inner side of the retaining wall of the reservoir embankment opposite the fountain, from a water intake located in the reservoir through a siphon, fills the fountain bowl to a level that is maintained constant until the end of the fountain operating season. At the same time, the fountain pumps, located on the shore in the same underground room below the bottom of the bowl, are under the flood and successfully operate throughout the fountain operating season, regardless of the water level of the reservoir. Since the fountain pumps are powered from high-voltage cables located in the same dry underground room on the shore, their operation complies with the electrical safety regulations formulated in GOST R 50571.7.702-2013 / IEC 60364-7-702: 2010 Low-voltage electrical installations. Part 7. Requirements for special installations or locations. Section 702.Swimming pools and fountains. At the end of the fountain season, water from the fountain bowl is drained into the reservoir through a shut-off valve installed in the bottom of the fountain bowl.

[0021] The elevated placement of the fountain basin on the culvert not only ensures the fountain's safe operation during ice drift and flooding but also allows for the culvert's depth to be reduced to the required minimum. This, among other things, reduces the cost of fountain construction.

[0022] Placing all pumps in a dry location on the shore not only ensures electrical safety for the fountain but also significantly improves its operating conditions by eliminating the need for seasonal installation and dismantling. It should also be noted that the constant water level in the basin, thanks to the pump feeding the fountain through a siphon from the water intake located in the reservoir, creates an additional positive effect, extending the fountain's operating season and improving the quality of landscaping on the adjacent embankment.

[0023] Thus, the proposed method of placing a fountain in a reservoir with a fluctuating water level not only ensures its electrical safety but also significantly improves its operating conditions. An additional positive effect is the extension of the fountain's operating season and improved landscaping of the adjacent embankment.
