Abstract

This invention relates to the field of water treatment by reverse osmosis. It introduces a new method for generating different types of water. It involves treating slightly saline water, such as tap water, whose salinity varies over time and space. This process requires a pretreatment stage (treatment of raw water) and three membrane treatment stages (reverse osmosis) that remove salts. At each stage, a specific water quality is produced (Osmosis water, demineralized water, and ultrapure water). This invention also encompasses the production of drinking water through the combination of pre-treated raw water, Osmosis water (permeate 1), and wastewater from the second Osmosis unit.
