Abstract

A bedding pad ensures sleeping comfort and can be, for example, more easily washed in a household washing machine.A bedding pad is brought into a joined state where an upper pad and a lower pad are joined with a joining portion to be vertically overlaid on each other, and is laid on bedding on which a user lies to be used, and the joining portion is capable of switching the upper pad and the lower pad between the joined state and a separated state.

CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATION

[0003] Conventionally, bedding pads have been proposed that are laid on bedding, such as a mattress, a bed mattress and a futon mattress, on which a user lies, and are used. For example, Patent Document 1 (Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2000-217670) discloses a bed pad which is laid on the mattress of a bed, and in which a waterproof layer is provided on the mattress opposite surface of a bed pad body formed by integrating a side fabric and batting through a quilting process.

[0004] In general, in order to realize a bedding pad for sleeping comfort, it is needed to provide a thickness which can ensure adequate cushioning and the like. However, since the bedding pad having such a thickness is bulky, for example, it is likely that the bedding pad cannot be easily washed in a household washing machine.

[0005] The present invention provides a bedding pad which ensures sleeping comfort and can be, for example, more easily washed in a household washing machine.SUMMARY

[0006] A bedding pad according to an aspect of the present invention is brought into a joined state where an upper pad and a lower pad are joined with a joining portion to be vertically overlaid on each other, and is laid on bedding on which a user lies to be used, and the joining portion is capable of switching the upper pad and the lower pad between the joined state and a separated state. In the present configuration, the bedding pad is provided which ensures sleeping comfort and can be, for example, more easily washed in a household washing machine.

[0007] More specifically, in the configuration described above, the joining portion may include: an upper engagement portion provided on the upper pad; and a lower engagement portion provided on the lower pad, and the upper engagement portion may engage with the lower engagement portion such that the upper pad and the lower pad are brought into the joined state. More specifically, in the configuration described above, the upper engagement portion and the lower engagement portion may be a pair of fasteners. More specifically, in the configuration described above, the upper engagement portion may be disposed along an outer edge of the upper pad when the upper pad is viewed from above, and the lower engagement portion may be disposed along an outer edge of the lower pad when the lower pad is viewed from above.

[0030] A bedding pad according to each of embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to drawings. An up / down direction, a left / right direction and a forward / backward direction (which are orthogonal to each other) related to the bedding pad in the following description are as shown in FIG. 1 and the like. These directions are determined for convenience such that the thickness direction of the bedding pad is the up / down direction.1. First Embodiment

[0031] A first embodiment will first be described. FIG. 1 is a schematic perspective view of elements of a bedding pad 1 according to the first embodiment. FIG. 2 is a more specific perspective view of the elements of the bedding pad 1. The bedding pad 1 includes an upper pad 10 and a lower pad 20. In the upper pad 10, an upper fastener 31 (an example of an “upper engagement portion” in the present invention) is provided on an upper pad body 10a. In the lower pad 20, a lower fastener 32 (an example of a “lower engagement portion” in the present invention) is provided on a lower pad body 20a.

[0032] The upper fastener 31 and the lower fastener 32 are a pair of fasteners 30, and the upper fastener 31 engages with the lower fastener 32 such that the upper pad 10 and the lower pad 20 are brought into a joined state as shown in FIG. 3, with the result that the bedding pad 1 is completed. The engagement of the upper fastener 31 and the lower fastener 32 is completely released, and thus the upper pad 10 and the lower pad 20 are brought into a separated state. In the example of the present embodiment, open fasteners are adopted as the pair of fasteners 30.

[0033] The upper fastener 31 is disposed along the entire outer edge of the upper pad 10 (upper pad body 10a) when the upper pad 10 is viewed from above, and the lower fastener 32 is disposed along the entire outer edge of the lower pad 20 (lower pad body 20a) when the lower pad 20 is viewed from above. These fasteners 31 and 32 are provided such that they are overlaid on each other when viewed from above, and a start point and an end point are provided in the same position (in an example shown in FIG. 2, a center portion on the back side of each of the pads 10 and 20) when the fasteners 31 and 32 are viewed from above. These fasteners 31 and 32 are caused to completely engage with each other, and thus the upper pad 10 and the lower pad 20 can be joined over the entire periphery of the bedding pad 1.

[0034] As described above, in the bedding pad 1, the pair of fasteners 30 which are the upper fastener 31 and the lower fastener 32 are provided. The bedding pad 1 is brought into the joined state where the upper pad 10 and the lower pad 20 are joined with the pair of fasteners 30 to be vertically overlaid on each other, and is laid on bedding on which a user lies to be used. The bedding pad 1 is laid on the bedding, such as a mattress, a bed mattress or a futon mattress, on which the user lies, and is basically used such that the forward / backward direction (longitudinal direction) of the bedding pad 1 coincides with the height direction of the user. The bedding pad 1 is laid on the bedding as described above, and thus the user can obtain better sleeping comfort.

[0035] The pair of fasteners 30 can switch the upper pad 10 and the lower pad 20 between the joined state and the separated state described above. The upper pad 10 and the lower pad 20 are brought into the separated state, and thus it is possible to decrease the thickness of the bedding pad 1. In this way, as compared with the bedding pad 1 in the joined state which is so thick as to be bulky, the upper pad 10 and the lower pad 20 in the separated state can, for example, easily washed in a household washing machine.

Each of the upper pad body 10a and the lower pad body 20a is substantially sheet-shaped with the up / down direction being the thickness direction, and is rectangular (in the shape of a rectangle having the same shape and size) with the forward / backward direction being the longitudinal direction and the left / right direction being the width direction when they are viewed from above (viewed from the upper side). [0041] As described above, in the lower pad body 20a, the stitches of the quilting are formed relatively finely to minimize the displacement of the cotton inside and the like. On the other hand, in the upper pad body 10a disposed closer to the user, while the displacement of the cotton inside and the like are being suppressed by the quilting, the intervals of the stitches in the quilting are made longer than in the lower pad body 20a such that a soft and fluffy feel is obtained.

[0042] In the present embodiment, as the cotton CT1 used in the upper pad body 10a, granular cotton is adopted, and as the cotton CT2 used in the lower pad body 20a, compressed cotton is adopted. In this way, the cotton CT1 used in the upper pad body 10a is softer than the cotton CT2 used in the lower pad body 20a. Hence, a consideration is given such that the upper pad body 10a disposed closer to the user provides a soft and fluffy feel, and a consideration is given such that in the lower pad body 20a, for example, the cotton CT2 is unlikely to wear out, and the feeling of hitting the bottom and the like are minimized. As the cotton CT2 of the lower pad body 20a, sheet-shaped cotton is used. The cotton CT2 is formed by compression, and the cotton CT2 is designed to feel as if it has been already worn out so that the cotton CT2 does not feel as if it is worn out with use.

[0043] Preferably, the surfaces of the upper pad 10 and the lower pad 20 which make contact with each other in the up / down direction (that is, the lower surface of the upper pad body 10a and the upper surface of the lower pad body 20a) are unlikely to slide on each other. In a part or the whole of the surface of the upper pad 10 which makes contact with the lower pad 20 (lower source of the upper pad body 10a), a friction-inducing portion may be formed. Likewise, in a part or the whole of the surface of the lower pad 20 which makes contact with the upper pad 10 (upper surface of the lower pad body 20a), a friction-inducing portion may be formed. Examples of the friction-inducing portion include a hook and loop fastener and the like. As the friction-inducing portion, a nap may be raised from the lower surface of the upper pad body 10a. A nap may also be raised from the upper surface of the lower pad body 20a. It is desirable that a portion of the lower surface of the upper pad body 10a from which the nap is raised and a portion of the upper surface of the lower pad body 20a from which the nap is raised are tangled together, and thus the surfaces which make contact with each other are unlikely to slide on each other in a direction orthogonal to the up / down direction. In this way, it is possible to minimize the loss of sleeping comfort caused by the sliding of the upper pad 10 and the lower pad 20.

[0044] Although in the example of the first embodiment, the pair of fasteners 30 which are the upper fastener 31 and the lower fastener 32 are adopted as a joining portion which can switch the upper pad 10 and the lower pad 20 between the joined state and the separated state, another form may be adopted instead of the pair of fasteners 30 (or together with the fasteners). Examples of the form which may be adopted include a form where a button is used (where a button is provided in one of both pads 10 and 20, and a hole into which the button can be fitted is provided in the other), a form where hook and loop fasteners are used (where hook and loop fasteners which can be adhered to each other are provided in both pads 10 and 20) and a form where strings are used (where strings are respectively provided in both pads 10 and 20, and both pads 10 and 20 are joined by tying the strings together). The upper pad 10 and the lower pad 20 can be interchanged between the upper and lower sides according to the preference of the user. For example, the upper pad 10 and the lower pad 20 may be combined together by placing the lower pad 20 on the upper pad 10 and coupling the upper fastener 31 to the lower fastener 32.

[0045] In the form where the hook and loop fasteners are used as the joining portion, as the hook and loop fastener, a hook and loop fastener (which includes a first raw cloth having a loop fiber layer and a second raw cloth having a hook fiber layer) disclosed in Japanese Unexamined Patent Application Publication No. 2020-120918 may be adopted. In other words, the first raw cloth may be provided in one of the upper pad 10 and the lower pad, and the second raw cloth may be provided in the other.

In the hook and loop fastener, the loop fibers and the hook fibers engage with each other, and thus the first raw cloth and the second raw cloth are joined.2. Second Embodiment

The second embodiment is basically the same as the first embodiment except that a cover unit is provided and a configuration related to the control unit is provided. In the present embodiment, the storage unit 23 serves as the joining portion, and thus the installation of the pair of fasteners 30 is omitted.

Multiple pads are selectively stacked and stored as described above, and thus it is possible to obtain softness, the feeling of hitting the bottom and the like corresponding to the preference of the user.

Claims

1. A bedding padthat is brought into a joined state where an upper pad and a lower pad are joined with a joining portion to be vertically overlaid on each other, andthat is laid on bedding on which a user lies to be used,wherein the joining portion is capable of switching the upper pad and the lower pad between the joined state and a separated state.

The bedding pad according to claim 1,wherein the joining portion comprises:an upper engagement portion provided on the upper pad; anda lower engagement portion provided on the lower pad, andthe upper engagement portion engages with the lower engagement portion such that the upper pad and the lower pad are brought into the joined state.

3. The bedding pad according to claim 2,wherein the upper engagement portion and the lower engagement portion are a pair of fasteners.

4. The bedding pad according to claim 2,wherein the upper engagement portion is disposed along an outer edge of the upper pad when the upper pad is viewed from above, andthe lower engagement portion is disposed along an outer edge of the lower pad when the lower pad is viewed from above.

5. The bedding pad according to claim 1,wherein each of the upper pad and the lower pad is quilted with cotton disposed between an upper fabric and a lower fabric.

6. The bedding pad according to claim 5,wherein in each of the upper pad and the lower pad, stitches of the quilting are provided in the same direction at predetermined intervals, andthe predetermined intervals in the lower pad are shorter than the predetermined intervals in the upper pad.

7. The bedding pad according to claim 5,wherein each of the upper pad and the lower pad is rectangular when viewed from above, andstitches of the quilting are provided at predetermined intervals in each of a longitudinal direction and a width direction.

8. The bedding pad according to claim 5,wherein the cotton in the upper pad is granular cotton.

9. The bedding pad according to claim 5,wherein the cotton in the upper pad is softer than the cotton in the lower pad.

10. The bedding pad according to claim 1,wherein the lower pad comprises a cover unit that covers an entire side surface of the upper pad.

11. The bedding pad according to claim 1,wherein the joining portion is a bag-shaped storage unit that is provided in one of the upper pad and the lower pad and is capable of storing the other of the upper pad and the lower pad, andthe other is stored in the storage unit such that the upper pad and the lower pad are brought into the joined state.

12. The bedding pad according to claim 3,wherein the upper engagement portion is disposed along an outer edge of the upper pad when the upper pad is viewed from above, andthe lower engagement portion is disposed along an outer edge of the lower pad when the lower pad is viewed from above.

13. The bedding pad according to claim 2,wherein each of the upper pad and the lower pad is quilted with cotton disposed between an upper fabric and a lower fabric.

14. The bedding pad according to claim 3,wherein each of the upper pad and the lower pad is quilted with cotton disposed between an upper fabric and a lower fabric.

15. The bedding pad according to claim 2,wherein the lower pad comprises a cover unit that covers an entire side surface of the upper pad.

16. The bedding pad according to claim 3,wherein the lower pad comprises a cover unit that covers an entire side surface of the upper pad.
