Condenser and cooling system

[0001] CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS

[0002] This application claims priority to the Chinese patent application filed with the China Patent Office on June 12, 2023, with application number 202321499990.9 and invention name “Condenser and Cooling System”, the entire contents of which are incorporated by reference into this application. Technical Field

[0003] The present application relates to the technical field of refrigeration equipment, and in particular to a condenser and a cooling system. Background Art

[0004] In industrial production and daily life, the condenser plays an important role, mainly responsible for heat transfer and gas condensation. The quality of its operating performance directly affects the economy and stability of the entire system.

[0005] A conventional condenser has an inlet through which the cooling medium passes to achieve heat transfer and condensation of the gas.

[0006] This design has significant shortcomings in practical application. For marine propulsion systems, the exhaust from the main steam turbine is typically discharged into a primary condenser, while the exhaust from the auxiliary steam turbine is discharged into an auxiliary condenser. In the condenser, the steam is condensed into water by circulating cooling water. This design, with its main and auxiliary condensers, is not compact, occupies a considerable amount of space, and increases the complexity of the marine equipment, making it difficult to maintain.

[0007] Summary of the Invention

[0008] In view of this, the present application provides a condenser and a cooling system to solve the problem that the condenser structure is not compact and occupies a large space.

[0009] In a first aspect, the present application provides a condenser comprising a shell, a baffle, a first heat exchange assembly, and a second heat exchange assembly. The shell has a first input port and a second input port at its upper portion; an output port at its lower portion; a baffle disposed on the inner wall of the shell divides the inner cavity of the shell into a primary cooling zone and a secondary cooling zone, the secondary cooling zone being located adjacent to and above the output port; a flow gap is provided between the baffle and the shell, connecting the primary and secondary cooling zones; an air extraction port is provided on the shell corresponding to the secondary cooling zone; the first heat exchange assembly is disposed in the primary cooling zone; and the second heat exchange assembly is disposed in the secondary cooling zone.

[0010] Beneficial Effects: By providing a first input port and a second input port on the condenser shell, two steam sources can be connected respectively. The two steam sources can enter the same condenser for simultaneous condensation, simplifying the structure and reducing the space occupied by the equipment. Since the shell is divided into a primary cooling zone and an auxiliary cooling zone by a baffle, the first steam source and the second steam source can share the primary cooling zone. The first heat exchange component in the primary cooling zone can simultaneously exchange heat with the first steam source and the second steam source, condensing the hot steam into water, which is discharged from the output port. Since the auxiliary cooling zone is located near the output port at the bottom and a flow gap is provided between the primary and auxiliary cooling zones, the air that is not completely condensed in the gas flowing from the primary cooling zone to the output port can enter the auxiliary cooling zone for secondary cooling, and a portion of the gas is condensed into water and discharged from the output port. The inner cavity of the shell is partitioned and optimized by providing baffles, so that the steam source can undergo sufficient heat exchange and cooling, ensuring cooling efficiency. Since an exhaust port is provided in the auxiliary cooling zone, the remaining non-condensable gas is extracted through the exhaust port, ensuring the vacuum degree of the shell cavity and the stability and reliability of the condenser.

[0011] In an optional embodiment, the first input port and the second input port are both located above the central axis of the housing, and an angle is formed between the axis of the first input port and the axis of the second input port, and the angle is in the range of 30° to 60°.

[0012] Beneficial effect: There is an angle of 30° to 60° between the first input port and the second input port, which can ensure the strength of the shell between the first input port and the second input port and the heat exchange efficiency.

[0013] In an optional embodiment, the diameter of the first input port and the diameter of the second input port are different, and the axis of at least one of the first input port and the second input port passes through the auxiliary cooling zone.

[0014] Beneficial Effects: Uncooled gas after the primary condensation in the primary cooling zone can enter the secondary cooling zone for complete condensation, further improving the condenser's heat exchange efficiency. Furthermore, to further enhance the efficiency of the secondary cooling zone, the temperature difference between the secondary heat exchange assembly and the primary heat exchange assembly within the secondary cooling zone can be increased to improve the efficiency of the secondary cooling of the gas.

[0015] In an optional embodiment, the diameter of the first input port is smaller than that of the second input port, the axis of the second input port intersects with the central axis of the shell, and the air extraction port is located on the side of the axis of the second input port away from the output port.

[0016] Beneficial effect: Since the air extraction port is located on the side of the axis of the second input port away from the output port, the gas can enter the auxiliary cooling zone through the circulation gap, run upward, and undergo sufficient heat exchange and condensation with the second heat exchange component before the non-condensable gas is extracted. The air extraction port is set away from the output port, which is conducive to sufficient heat exchange of the gas in the auxiliary cooling zone and improves the condensation efficiency.

[0017] In an optional embodiment, the length of the baffle is greater than its width, one long side of the baffle is arranged along the axial direction of the shell, both ends of the baffle are sealed to both ends of the shell, and a gap is left between the other long side of the baffle and the shell to form a flow gap.

[0018] Beneficial effect: The two ends of the baffle are sealed and connected to the two ends of the shell, so that the gas can only enter the auxiliary cooling zone from the circulation gap, which can ensure the heat exchange temperature difference between the main cooling zone and the auxiliary cooling zone, so that the gas that is not completely condensed can be fully and thoroughly condensed in the secondary cooling after entering the auxiliary cooling zone.

[0019] In an optional embodiment, the baffle is a bent structure, and the baffle includes a blocking section, and the blocking section is connected to the inner wall of the main cooling zone of the shell at an obtuse angle.

[0020] Beneficial effect: This arrangement prevents dead spots from appearing at the connection between the barrier section and the inner wall of the shell, ensuring smooth gas flow in the main cooling zone and sufficient gas contact and condensation with the first heat exchange component.

[0021] In an optional embodiment, the baffle further includes a guide section, one side of the guide section is connected to the blocking section, and the other side of the guide section extends toward the output port and does not cross the axis of the output port.

[0022] Beneficial effect: With this arrangement, after the gas condenses into water, it can flow along a specific path along the guide plate to the output port, shortening the movement path of the condensed water and increasing the flow rate of the condensed water to evenly distribute heat and improve condensation efficiency.

[0023] In an optional embodiment, the first heat exchange component and the second heat exchange component both include a plurality of heat exchange tubes, tube sheets are provided at both ends of the shell, and the heat exchange tubes are connected to the two tube sheets.

[0024] Beneficial effect: The tube sheets at both ends of the shell can be used to install heat exchange tubes. The tube sheets support and fix the heat exchange tubes, ensuring the reliability and performance of the heat exchange tube arrangement.

[0025] In an optional embodiment, a plurality of reinforcing ribs are connected between the tube sheets.

[0026] Beneficial effect: By providing the reinforcing rib plate, the connection strength of the two tube sheets can be strengthened, thereby improving the stability and reliability of the condenser operation.

[0027] In an optional embodiment, the heat exchange tubes are arranged parallel to the axis of the shell, and adjacent heat exchange tubes are staggered in a diamond shape.

[0028] Beneficial effect: The heat exchange tubes are arranged in a diamond shape so that the gap between the two adjacent heat exchange tubes is toward the second input port. Since the diameter of the second input port is large, the flow rate of the steam source input from the second input port is large, and the second input port is inclined relative to the vertical direction. Therefore, it is conducive to the flow of the steam source input from the second input port, so that the two steam sources can condense in the same main cooling zone.

[0029] In a second aspect, the present application also provides a cooling system, comprising a first steam source, a second steam source and a condenser of any one of the above technical solutions, wherein the first steam source is connected to the first input port, and the second steam source is connected to the second input port.

[0030] Since the cooling system includes a condenser and has the same effect as the condenser, it will not be described in detail here. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0039] To make the purpose, technical solutions, and advantages of the embodiments of the present application more clear, the technical solutions in the embodiments of the present application will be clearly and completely described below in conjunction with the drawings in the embodiments of the present application. Obviously, the described embodiments are part of the embodiments of the present application, not all of the embodiments. Based on the embodiments in the present application, all other embodiments obtained by those skilled in the art without making creative efforts shall fall within the scope of protection of this application.

[0040] The following describes an embodiment of the present application with reference to FIG1 to FIG5 .

[0041] According to an embodiment of the present application, on the one hand, a condenser is provided, comprising a shell 1, a baffle 2, a first heat exchange assembly 3, and a second heat exchange assembly 4. The upper portion of the shell 1 is provided with a first input port 101 and a second input port 102; the lower portion of the shell 1 is provided with an output port 103; the baffle 2, disposed on the inner wall of the shell 1, divides the inner cavity of the shell 1 into a primary cooling zone 105 and a secondary cooling zone 106, the secondary cooling zone 106 being located near and above the output port 103; a flow gap 107 is provided between the baffle 2 and the shell 1, connecting the primary cooling zone 105 and the secondary cooling zone 106; an air extraction port 104 is provided on the shell 1 corresponding to the secondary cooling zone 106; the first heat exchange assembly 3 is disposed in the primary cooling zone 105; and the second heat exchange assembly 4 is disposed in the secondary cooling zone 106.

[0042] By setting a first input port 101 and a second input port 102 on the shell 1 of the condenser, they can be used to connect two steam sources respectively. The two steam sources can enter the same condenser for condensation at the same time, which simplifies the structure and reduces the space occupied by the equipment. In practical applications, such as in a marine cooling system, the exhaust gas of the main steam turbine and the exhaust gas of the auxiliary steam turbine can enter the same condenser for condensation. The structure is compact, thereby simplifying the system structure and improving space utilization. Since the shell 1 is divided into a main cooling zone 105 and an auxiliary cooling zone 106 by a baffle 2, the first steam source and the second steam source can share the main cooling zone 105, and the first heat exchange component 3 of the main cooling zone 105 can simultaneously exchange heat with the first steam source and the second steam source, condensing the hot steam into water and discharging it from the output port 103; since the auxiliary cooling zone 106 is set close to the lower output port 103, and a flow gap 107 is provided between the main cooling zone 105 and the auxiliary cooling zone 106, the water flows from the main cooling zone 105 to the output port 103. The uncondensed air in the moving gas can enter the auxiliary cooling zone 106 for secondary cooling, and a part of the gas condenses into water and is discharged from the output port 103. By setting the baffle 2 to optimize the partition of the inner cavity of the shell 1, the steam source can be fully cooled by heat exchange, ensuring the cooling efficiency. Because the exhaust port 104 is set in the auxiliary cooling zone 106, the remaining non-condensable gas is extracted from the exhaust port 104, ensuring the vacuum degree of the inner cavity of the shell 1 and the stability and reliability of the condenser. The condenser provided by the present application is conducive to saving the space occupied by the equipment of the cooling system, both in industrial production and in daily life, and can achieve efficient and reliable condensation and heat transfer.

[0043] In addition, due to the provision of the first input port 101 and the second input port 102, when one input port of the condenser is blocked or fails, the other input port can still work normally, thereby greatly improving the stability and reliability of the system.

[0044] In one embodiment, the baffle 2 is made of a 5 mm thick low alloy steel plate, and the surface is treated with a protective coating.

[0045] In one embodiment, the first input port 101 and the second input port 102 are both located above the central axis of the housing 1 , and an angle is formed between the axis of the first input port 101 and the axis of the second input port 102 , and the angle is in the range of 30° to 60°.

[0046] Specifically, the central axis of the shell 1 is the axis along the length of the shell 1. The first input port 101 and the second input port 102 are both located above the central axis of the shell 1. In this way, the steam source entering from the first input port 101 and the second input port 102 can ensure that the gas flows from top to bottom, ensuring that the gas can fully exchange heat with the first heat exchange assembly 3 in the main cooling zone 105, which is conducive to improving condensation efficiency. When the angle between the first input port 101 and the second input port 102 is small, the strength of the shell 1 between the first input port 101 and the second input port 102 is low and the stability of the condenser is poor; when the angle between the first input port 101 and the second input port 102 is too large, the height of the first input port 101 or the second input port 102 will be sacrificed, thereby affecting the heat exchange time of the gas entering from the input port in the main cold zone 105 and affecting the heat exchange efficiency. Therefore, there is an angle of 30° to 60° between the first input port 101 and the second input port 102, which can ensure both the strength of the shell 1 between the first input port 101 and the second input port 102 and the heat exchange efficiency.

[0047] As shown in Figure 2, the axis of the first input port 101 is L1, and the axis of the second input port 102 is L2. The angle between the two is α, and 30°≤α≤60°. Specifically, in one embodiment, as shown in Figure 2, the first input port 101 is located at the top of the shell 1, and the output port 103 is located at the bottom of the shell 1, and the two are arranged relative to each other with respect to the shell 1. Optionally, the axes of the first input port 101 and the output port 103 are collinear and pass through the central axis of the shell 1. This arrangement allows the steam source input from the first input port 101 to fully exchange heat and cool with the first heat exchange assembly 3 to the greatest extent during the top-down operation of the main cooling zone 105. From the orientation shown in Figure 2, the second input port 102 is located at the upper right of the shell 1, and the angle α between the axis L2 of the second input port 102 and the axis L1 of the first input port 101 is 45°.

[0048] In one embodiment, the diameters of the first input port 101 and the second input port 102 are different, and the axis of at least one of the first input port 101 and the second input port 102 passes through the auxiliary cooling zone 106 .

[0049] Because the calibers of the first input port 101 and the second input port 102 are different, different input ports can be connected based on the exhaust volume of different devices in the cooling system. Specifically, devices with larger exhaust volumes are connected to larger-caliber input ports, while devices with smaller exhaust volumes are connected to smaller-caliber input ports. This allows for optimal steam source input, which in turn improves the heat exchange efficiency of the condenser.

[0050] Because the axis of at least one of the first input port 101 and the second input port 102 passes through the auxiliary cooling zone 106, that is, at least one of the first input port 101 and the second input port 102 and the auxiliary cooling zone 106 are arranged relative to the shell 1, the gas that has not been completely cooled after the first condensation in the primary cooling zone 105 can enter the auxiliary cooling zone 106 for secondary cooling, so that the gas is completely condensed, further improving the heat exchange efficiency of the condenser. In addition, to further improve the heat exchange efficiency of the auxiliary cooling zone 106, the heat exchange efficiency of the secondary cooling of the gas in the auxiliary cooling zone 106 can be improved by increasing the temperature difference between the second heat exchange component 4 and the first heat exchange component 3 in the auxiliary cooling zone 106.

[0051] In one embodiment, the diameter of the second input port 102 is larger than that of the first input port 101 , the axis of the second input port 102 intersects with the central axis of the housing 1 , and the air extraction port 104 is located on the side of the axis of the second input port 102 away from the output port 103 .

[0052] Specifically, referring to Figure 2 , in this embodiment, the diameter of the first input port 101 is smaller than the diameter of the second input port 102. In actual use, taking a steam turbine system as an example, the first input port 101, due to its smaller diameter, can be used to connect to the exhaust of the auxiliary steam turbine, while the second input port 102, due to its larger diameter, can be used to connect to the exhaust of the main steam turbine.

[0053] In one embodiment, as shown in Figure 2 or Figure 3, since the exhaust port 104 is located on the side of the axis of the second input port 102 away from the output port 103, the gas can enter the auxiliary cooling zone 106 through the flow gap 107, run upward, and fully exchange heat and condense with the second heat exchange component 4, and then the non-condensable gas is extracted. The exhaust port 104 is set away from the output port 103, which is conducive to sufficient heat exchange of the gas in the auxiliary cooling zone 106 and improves the condensation efficiency.

[0054] In one embodiment, the length of the baffle 2 is greater than its width, one long side of the baffle 2 is arranged along the axial direction of the shell 1, both ends of the baffle 2 are sealed to both ends of the shell 1, and a gap is left between the other long side of the baffle 2 and the shell 1 to form a flow gap 107.

[0055] The two ends of the baffle 2 and the two ends of the shell 1 are sealed and connected so that the gas can only enter the auxiliary cooling zone 106 from the flow gap 107, which can ensure the heat exchange temperature difference between the main cooling zone 105 and the auxiliary cooling zone 106, so that the gas that is not completely condensed can be fully and thoroughly condensed in the secondary cooling after entering the auxiliary cooling zone 106.

[0056] In one embodiment, the baffle 2 is a bent structure and includes a blocking section 201 . The blocking section 201 is connected to the inner wall of the primary cooling zone 105 of the shell 1 at an obtuse angle, as shown by β in FIG3 .

[0057] This arrangement prevents dead spots from forming at the connection between the barrier section 201 and the inner wall of the shell 1 , ensuring smooth gas flow in the primary cooling zone 105 and sufficient gas contact and condensation with the first heat exchange component 3 .

[0058] In one embodiment, the baffle 2 further includes a guide section 202 , one side of the guide section 202 is connected to the blocking section 201 , and the other side of the guide section 202 extends toward the outlet 103 without crossing the axis of the outlet 103 .

[0059] With this arrangement, after the gas condenses into water, it can flow along a specific path along the guide plate to the output port 103, shortening the movement path of the condensed water and increasing the flow rate of the condensed water to evenly distribute heat and improve condensation efficiency.

[0060] In one embodiment, referring to FIG. 2 or FIG. 3 , the other side of the guide plate is a free end, and the free end is vertically aligned with an edge of the outlet 103 on a side close to the auxiliary cooling zone 106 .

[0061] In one embodiment, the first heat exchange assembly 3 and the second heat exchange assembly 4 each include a plurality of heat exchange tubes 301 . Tube sheets 108 are provided at both ends of the shell 1 , and the heat exchange tubes 301 are connected to the two tube sheets 108 .

[0062] Shell 1 is the main structure of the condenser, a thick-walled cylindrical structure. Specifically, shell 1 is a hollow shell made of low-alloy Q235 steel. The inner surface of shell 1 is treated with an active protective layer using a sandblasting process to prevent corrosion. The axis of shell 1 is horizontal, meaning the condenser is horizontal. In one embodiment, referring to Figure 1, the first input port 101 and the output port 103 are both located in the middle of shell 1 along the axis of shell 1.

[0063] Heat exchange tubes 301 are mounted on the tube sheets 108 at both ends of the housing 1. The tube sheets 108 support and secure the heat exchange tubes 301. In one embodiment, the heat exchange tubes 301 are brass plain tubes, secured to the tube sheets 108 by welding. Both ends of the heat exchange tubes 301 extend beyond the tube sheets 108 by between 20 mm and 30 mm. These measures ensure the reliability and performance of the heat exchange tube 301 layout.

[0064] In one embodiment, tube sheet 108 is made of low-alloy steel 16MnDR, has a thickness of 80 mm, and is polished to reduce adhesion resistance. Tube sheet 108 has several mounting holes, the distribution of which is consistent with the distribution of heat exchange tubes 301. Heat exchange tubes 301 are welded to tube sheet 108 after passing through the mounting holes.

[0065] Specifically, since the volumes of the primary cooling zone 105 and the auxiliary cooling zone 106 are different, the number of heat exchange tubes 301 in the primary cooling zone 105 and the flow rate of the fluid in the heat exchange tubes 301 are different, thereby achieving zoned recooling.

[0066] Specifically, end caps 5 are provided at both ends of the housing 1, forming a closed cavity within the housing 1. The end caps 5 at the front and rear ends of the housing 1 are provided with pipe sleeves 6, which are connected to the heat exchange tubes 301. Cooling water flows from the front pipe sleeves 6 into the heat exchange tubes 301 and out of the housing 1 from the rear pipe sleeves 6.

[0067] In one embodiment, a plurality of reinforcing ribs 109 are connected between the tube sheets 108. The provision of the reinforcing ribs 109 can strengthen the connection strength between the two tube sheets 108, thereby improving the stability and reliability of the condenser operation.

[0068] In one embodiment, the heat exchange tubes 301 are arranged parallel to the axis of the shell 1 , and adjacent heat exchange tubes 301 are staggered in a diamond shape.

[0069] Specifically, in one embodiment, as shown in Figure 4 , the axes of four adjacent heat exchange tubes 301 are located at the four corners of a rhombus, with the smaller angle of the rhombus being 60°. There are at least two ways to arrange the heat exchange tubes 301 in a rhombus: one in which the diagonals of the rhombus are arranged vertically, as shown in Figure 4 ; the other in which the diagonals of the rhombus are arranged at an angle to the vertical.

[0070] In the embodiment shown in Figure 2, the heat exchange tubes 301 are arranged in a diamond shape, so that the gap between the two adjacent heat exchange tubes 301 above and below is toward the second input port 102. Since the diameter of the second input port 102 is large, the flow rate of the steam source input from the second input port 102 is large, and the second input port 102 is inclined relative to the vertical direction. Therefore, it is conducive to the flow of the steam source input from the second input port 102, so that the two steam sources can condense in the same main cooling zone 105.

[0071] According to an embodiment of the present application, on the other hand, a cooling system is also provided, including a first steam source, a second steam source and a condenser of any one of the above technical solutions, the first steam source is connected to the first input port 101, and the second steam source is connected to the second input port 102.

[0072] Since the cooling system includes a condenser and has the same effect as the condenser, it will not be described in detail here.

[0073] Specifically, taking the steam turbine system as an example, the steam turbine system includes the main steam turbine exhaust and the auxiliary steam turbine exhaust. The exhaust volume of the main steam turbine is significantly larger than that of the auxiliary steam turbine. Therefore, considering the difference in the diameters of the first input port 101 and the second input port 102, the main steam turbine exhaust is connected to the second input port 102, and the auxiliary steam turbine exhaust is connected to the first input port 101.

[0074] Working process:

[0075] The exhaust gas from the main steam turbine and the auxiliary steam turbine enters the shell 1 from the second input port 102 and the first input port 101 respectively. After entering the shell 1, the exhaust gas first contacts the heat exchange tube 301 in the main cooling zone 105, and the exhaust gas begins to cool and condense on the outer surface of the heat exchange tube 301. Due to the provision of a baffle 2 for zoned re-cooling, the heat exchange tube 301 inside the shell 1 is divided into a main cooling zone 105 and an auxiliary cooling zone 106. Most of the exhaust gas from the main steam turbine and the exhaust gas from the auxiliary steam turbine are cooled in the common main cooling zone 105. After the steam condenses into liquid on the outer surface of the heat exchange tube 301, it is discharged through the output port 103; a small portion of the gas that is not fully condensed enters the auxiliary cooling zone 106 for re-cooling, and after condensing into water, it flows downward along the baffle 2 and is discharged through the output port 103.

[0076] The cooling water in the heat exchange tubes 301 enters the primary cooling zone 105 and the auxiliary cooling zone 106 within the shell 1 through the sleeves 6 on the front end header 5 of the shell 1, absorbing heat released by the exhaust gas from both routes. After flowing through the heat exchange tubes 301, the cooling water exits the shell 1 through the sleeves 6 on the rear end header 5 of the shell 1. The cooling water then flows back to the main steam turbine and the auxiliary steam turbine through the diversion device.

[0077] The exhaust port 104 provided in the auxiliary cooling zone 106 extracts steam and residual gas to maintain the vacuum degree.

[0078] The baffle 2 and the air extraction port 104 effectively improve the heat exchange efficiency, save space, and realize the condensation of the exhaust gas in two ways. The active protective layer of the shell 1 effectively prevents corrosion and extends the service life of the heat exchanger.

[0079] The condenser provided in the embodiments of the present application has a wide range of applications, particularly in situations requiring efficient heat exchange and high-flow processing, such as marine cooling systems, industrial production equipment, and power facilities.
