AI Technical Summary
Energy storage system containers require effective insulation and a reliable mechanism to discharge high-pressure gases and flames externally during abnormal events, as existing solutions do not adequately ensure internal insulation while facilitating safe venting.
A rupture panel assembly support device with a rupture panel, insulating material layer, and gasket, coupled with a counter flange and coupling bolts, forms an overlapping insulation structure that enhances the container's internal insulation by allowing high-pressure discharge while maintaining structural integrity.
The solution effectively maximizes insulation and ensures safe discharge of high-pressure gases and flames, securing internal insulation and structural strength within the energy storage container.

Abstract
Description
Support device for burst panel assembly for energy storage containers
[0001] The present invention relates to a rupture panel assembly support device installed in a container of an energy storage system (ESS), and more particularly, to a rupture panel assembly support device of an energy storage system having sufficient insulation function to minimize the influence of external temperature on the interior of a container used in the energy storage system.
[0002] Energy storage systems, such as solar power generation, are essential for energy production. These energy storage devices are containers with the required volume and contain multiple storage devices capable of storing energy.
[0003] These containers typically incorporate various devices to maintain the necessary environment for energy storage. For example, Korean Patent No. 10-1381592 provides various proposals for these devices. For example, an air conditioning system is installed to control air conditions, including temperature and humidity, within the container.
[0004] Furthermore, because the storage devices installed inside containers are highly vulnerable to fire and rupture, they must be equipped with a rupture venting device to discharge high-pressure gases and flames to the outside should an abnormality occur inside the container. For example, if an abnormality occurs inside an energy storage system container, a rupture panel should open, allowing high-pressure gases and flames generated inside the container to be discharged to the outside.
[0005] The purpose of the present invention is to provide a burst panel assembly support device configured to sufficiently achieve insulation inside a container by having a burst panel so as to discharge abnormal high pressure inside the container to the outside.
[0006] According to the support device of the present invention, the rupture panel assembly comprises a rupture panel having a rupture line that ruptures at a set pressure and is mounted on an open portion of an energy storage container, an insulation layer provided on the upper portion of the rupture panel, and an insulation cover that surrounds the insulation layer and is fixed to the rupture panel. A gasket is interposed between the rupture panel and the container cover, and a counter flange is placed on the upper portion of the rupture panel. In this state, a joining bolt fastens the counter flange and the rupture panel to the container cover. Here, the rupture panel assembly extends outside the open portion of the container to form an overlapping portion and is fixed to the container by the joining bolt.
[0007] According to the present invention having the above-described configuration, it can be seen that an overlapping portion is formed between the rupture panel assembly and the container. Since this overlapping portion substantially overlaps the insulation layer of the rupture panel assembly and the insulation layer of the container, the insulation effect can be substantially maximized. Therefore, it is believed that by applying the rupture panel assembly of the present invention, sufficient internal insulation of the energy storage device container can be secured.
[0008] Figure 1 is an exemplary perspective view of the rupture panel assembly of the present invention.
[0009] Figure 2 is a cross-sectional view showing an example of the assembly of the present invention installed in a container.
[0010] Hereinafter, the rupture panel assembly of the present invention will be examined based on an embodiment illustrated in the drawings.
[0011] As illustrated in Fig. 1, the burst panel assembly (1) of the present invention is installed on a container (2) of an energy storage device, and has a function of discharging high pressure to the outside when high pressure is applied inside the container (2). That is, a burst panel that is destroyed in response to a set high pressure is installed inside the burst panel assembly (1), and thus, when the set high pressure is reached, the burst panel can be ruptured to relieve the high pressure.
[0012] As illustrated in Fig. 2, the rupture panel assembly (1) is installed in the open portion (28) of the upper surface (4) of the container (2) to respond to the high pressure inside the container. The assembly (1) of the present invention includes a rupture panel (18) that blocks the open portion (28) of the container, has a rupture line formed therein that ruptures under a predetermined pressure, and an insulation cover (12) that forms the exterior, with an insulation layer (10) embedded between the rupture panel (18) that forms the bottom surface (the surface facing the inside of the container).
[0013] The insulation cover (12) can be made of, for example, aluminum, and is fixed to the rupture panel (18) while being filled with insulation material inside. The insulation cover (12) and the rupture panel (18) can be fixed by various methods, such as bonding, riveting, etc. In addition, the wall of the container (2) also has an insulation layer (22), and the outer surface (top surface) of this insulation layer (22) is covered by the container cover (26).
[0014] Here, for example, the rupture panel assembly (1) including the aluminum material insulation cover (12) is designed to have an overlapping portion (A) extending beyond the open portion (28) on the top surface of the container. The purpose of arranging the overlapping portion (A) between the rupture panel assembly (1) and the top surface (4) of the container is to further strengthen insulation at the assembly portion between the rupture panel assembly (1) and the top surface (4).
[0015] Here, the rupture panel (18) of the rupture panel assembly (1) extends sufficiently to the outside of the connecting bolt (B). A gasket (24) for airtightness is installed between the rupture panel (18) and the container cover (26). It is preferable that the inside of the gasket (24) coincides with the outside of the open portion (18), and it is preferable that the outside of the gasket (24) extends further outward than the insulation cover (12).
[0016] And, a counter flange (16) is installed on the upper surface of the outer edge portion of the rupture panel (18) to secure structural strength when fastened by a joining bolt (B). And, the joining boat (B) fixes the assembly (1) of the present invention to the container while penetrating the counter flange (16), gasket (24), and container cover (26).
[0017] For example, when a joining bolt (B) penetrates the gasket (24) and the container cover (26), it is fixed to the container and is joined to the embedded fastening nut (N), thereby substantially fastening and fixing the rupture panel assembly (1) and the container (2) to each other. As such, it can be confirmed from FIGS. 1 and 2 that a plurality of fastening holes are formed in the counter flange (16) and the rupture panel (18) for fastening using the bolt (B).
[0018] As seen above, the present invention is based on the basic technical idea of providing an overlapping portion (A) to further secure insulation when the burst panel assembly (1) and the upper surface (4) of the container are joined together. In addition, it can be seen that the burst panel assembly (1) and the upper surface (4) of the container are fixed to each other using a joining bolt on the outside of this overlapping portion (A), and a gasket (24) is interposed therebetween.
[0019] It is believed that various modifications are possible within the scope of the technical concept of the present invention. Furthermore, it is natural, in keeping with the provisions of the Patent Act, that the scope of protection of the present invention should be interpreted based on the description of the patent claims.
