Abstract
Description
[0001] Valve Actuator Technical Field The present invention relates to an actuator, particularly a valve actuator. Background Art A valve actuator is a machine used to actuate a valve. A valve actuator typically comprises a power unit, a manual mechanism, and a position indicator. The power unit is transmission-connected to an output shaft for automatic actuation. The power unit may be, for example, a pneumatic, hydraulic, or electric actuator. The manual mechanism is used to manually actuate the output shaft. The position indicator is used to display the actual rotational position of the output shaft. The manual mechanism and position indicator of existing valve actuators occupy a large amount of space, hindering the miniaturization of the valve actuator. Summary of the Invention An object of the present invention is to provide a valve actuator with a more compact structure that facilitates space conservation. The present invention provides a valve actuator comprising a support body, an operating member, an output shaft, a first transmission unit, and an indicator. The operating member is rotatably connected to the support body about a first axis. The output shaft is rotatably connected to the support body about the first axis. The first transmission unit transmission-connects the operating member and the output shaft. The indicator member extends through the operating member in a first direction parallel to the first axis and is configured to rotate relative to the operating member about the first axis. The end of the indicator member extending beyond the operating member in the first direction is connected to the output shaft and is configured to rotate coaxially and at the same angle as the output shaft. The end of the indicator member extending beyond the operating member in a direction opposite to the first direction has an indicator portion. The indicator portion is used to be observed to determine the rotational position of the indicator member relative to the support body. By arranging the relative positions and connection relationships of the operating member, indicator member, and output shaft, the valve actuator achieves a more compact structure, facilitating space conservation. In another exemplary embodiment of the valve actuator, the operating member includes an operating shaft axially parallel to the first direction. The operating shaft includes a clamping portion. The clamping portion is in the shape of a rotating body about the first axis. The support body includes a plurality of clamping members. The clamping members are distributed around the operating shaft in a circumferential direction perpendicular to the first axis. Each clamping member forms a snap-fit connection with the clamping portion to restrict movement of the operating member relative to the support body in the first direction and in a direction opposite to the first direction. Several clamping parts can limit the rotation of the operating part relative to the support body around the first axis. This facilitates assembly. In another schematic embodiment of the valve actuator, the clamping part has an annular clamping groove. The support body has a main body. One end of each clamping part along the first direction is fixedly connected to the main body, and the other end is freely arranged and has a clamping block. The clamping block is inserted into the clamping groove to form a snap connection. This structure has good stability. In another schematic embodiment of the valve actuator, the operating part includes an operating shaft axially parallel to the first direction and a knob. The operating shaft is rotatably connected to the support body around the first axis. The knob is located on one side of the operating shaft along the first direction and is fixedly connected to the operating shaft. The indicator member includes a rotating shaft portion axially parallel to a first direction. The rotating shaft portion is rotatably connected about the first axis and extends through the knob and operating shaft. The indicator portion is fixedly connected to the end of the rotating shaft portion extending from the knob. This improves stability during movement. In another exemplary embodiment of the valve actuator, the operating shaft includes a stopper portion disposed around the rotating shaft portion. The stopper portion is capable of abutting the rotating shaft portion in a direction opposite to the first direction. The valve actuator also includes a cover. The cover is connected to the knob and forms a cavity with the knob to accommodate the indicator portion. The cover includes a pointed portion protruding in the first direction. The tip of the pointed portion is capable of abutting a portion of the indicator portion that coincides with the first axis in the first direction. This structure is simple and can limit the position of the indicator member relative to the operating member in the first direction. In another exemplary embodiment of the valve actuator, the cover is transparent so that the indicator portion can be observed through the cover, thereby facilitating observation. In another exemplary embodiment of the valve actuator, the first transmission unit includes a first transmission gear, a duplex gear, and a second transmission gear. The first transmission gear is configured to rotate relative to the support body about a first axis. The operating member is keyed to the first transmission gear. The duplex gear is configured to rotate relative to the support body about a second axis parallel to the first axis. The duplex gear includes a first ring gear and a second ring gear. The first ring gear meshes with the first transmission gear. The second transmission gear is configured to rotate relative to the support body about the first axis and meshes with the second ring gear. The second transmission gear is keyed to the output shaft. This structure is simple and provides good stability. In another exemplary embodiment of the valve actuator, the first transmission gear has an assembly hole extending in a first direction. The operating member is inserted into one end of the assembly hole in the first direction and is keyed to the first transmission gear. The output shaft is rotatably inserted into the other end of the assembly hole in the first direction. The end of the indicator member extending in the first direction, which passes through the operating member, extends into the assembly hole and is inserted into the output shaft for keyed connection. This structure helps improve stability during operation. In another exemplary embodiment of the valve actuator, the transmission ratio between the first transmission gear and the first ring gear is greater than 1, and the transmission ratio between the second ring gear and the second transmission gear is greater than 10. Setting the transmission ratios effectively reduces operating torque, easing operation. In another exemplary embodiment of the valve actuator, the indicator is configured as a pointer pointing perpendicular to the first axis. The support body is provided with a dial to cooperate with the pointer to determine the rotational position of the indicator relative to the support body. This facilitates determining the actual rotational position of the output shaft. In another exemplary embodiment of the valve actuator, the valve actuator further includes a motor and a second transmission unit. The second transmission unit is transmissionably connected to the motor and the first transmission unit, so that the motor can drive the output shaft to rotate via the second and first transmission units. This achieves automatic drive. In another exemplary embodiment of the valve actuator, the second transmission unit is a fixed-axis gear train. The fixed-axis gear train includes a fifth transmission gear. The fifth transmission gear is rotatably connected to the support body about an axis parallel to the first direction. The fifth transmission gear is movable relative to the support body in a first direction and a direction opposite to the first direction to disconnect and connect the transmission path of the fixed-axis gear train. The valve actuator also includes a first elastic member, a separator, and a second elastic member. The first elastic member applies an elastic force to the fifth transmission gear to maintain the fifth transmission gear in a position connected to the transmission path of the fixed-axis gear train. The separator is movably connected to the support body in a first direction and a direction opposite to the first direction. The separator is movable in the first direction to abut against the fifth transmission gear, causing the fifth transmission gear to move to a position disconnecting the transmission path of the fixed-axis gear train. The second elastic member applies an elastic force to the separator to move the separator in a direction opposite to the first direction. By controlling the separating member, resistance to rotating the operating member can be reduced, facilitating manual operation. In each figure, identical reference numerals indicate components with identical or similar structures and identical functions. As used herein, "schematic" means "serving as an example, instance, or illustration." Any illustration or implementation described herein as "schematic" should not be construed as a preferred or more advantageous technical solution. In this document, "first," "second," and the like do not denote importance or order; they are merely used to distinguish one from another to facilitate description. For simplicity, each figure schematically illustrates only portions relevant to the invention; they do not represent the actual structure of the product. Figure 1 is a schematic structural diagram of an exemplary implementation of a valve actuator. Figure 2 is a cross-sectional view of a portion of the valve actuator shown in Figure 1. As shown in Figures 1 and 2, the valve actuator includes a support body 10, an operating member 20, an output shaft 30, a first transmission unit 40, and an indicator 50. For clarity, a portion of the support body 10 structure is omitted in Figure 2. As shown in Figure 2, the operating member 20 is rotatably connected to the support body 10 about a first axis L1. The operating member 20 is designed for manual operation by a user. The output shaft 30 is rotatably connected to the support body 10 about the first axis L1. The output shaft 30 is used to connect to the valve stem 90 of the valve to drive the valve stem 90 to rotate. As shown in Figure 2, in this exemplary embodiment, the operating member 20 is located above the output shaft 30. The first transmission unit 40 is transmissionably connected to the operating member 20 and the output shaft 30, thereby driving the output shaft 30 to rotate by rotating the operating member 20. Figure 3 shows a partial structure of the structure shown in Figure 2, and Figure 4 shows an exploded structure of the structure shown in Figure 3. As shown in Figures 3 and 4, the indicator member 50 is disposed through the operating member 20 along a first direction D1 parallel to the first axis L1 and is configured to rotate relative to the operating member 20 about the first axis L1. One end of the indicator member 50 (i.e., the lower end in Figures 3 and 4 ) that extends beyond the operating member 20 in the first direction D1 is connected to the output shaft 30 so as to be rotatable coaxially and angularly with the output shaft 30. In the exemplary embodiment, the indicator member 50 and the output shaft 30 are plugged into each other to form a keyed fit, thereby achieving coaxial and angular rotation, but the present invention is not limited thereto. In other exemplary embodiments, the indicator member 50 may also be connected to the output shaft 30 by, for example, welding, a snap-fit connection, or the like. The end of the indicator member 50 that extends beyond the operating member 20 in the direction opposite to the first direction D1 (i.e., the upper end in Figures 3 and 4 ) has an indicator portion 51. The indicator portion 51 is used to be observed to determine the rotational position of the indicator member 50 relative to the support body 10. As shown in Figure 1 , the indicator portion 51 can be configured, for example, as a pointer pointing perpendicular to the first axis L1. In the valve actuator of this exemplary embodiment, the operating member 20 can rotate the output shaft 30 via the first transmission unit 40. The rotating output shaft 30 drives the indicator member 50 to rotate coaxially and angularly, thereby displaying the actual rotational position of the output shaft 30 via the indicator member 50. By arranging the relative positions and connection relationships of the operating member, indicator member, and output shaft, this valve actuator achieves a more compact structure, facilitating space conservation. As shown in Figure 2 , in this exemplary embodiment, the operating member 20 includes an operating shaft 21 axially parallel to the first direction D1. The operating shaft 21 is rotatably connected to the support body 10 about the first axis L1. Specifically, the operating shaft 21 has a snap-fit portion 211. The clamping portion 211 is shaped like a rotating body about the first axis L1. As shown in Figures 2 and 5, the support body 10 includes several clamping members 13, the number of which can be set as needed, for example, six or eight, but not limited thereto. The clamping members 13 are evenly distributed around the operating shaft 21 in a circumferential direction perpendicular to the first axis L1. As shown in Figure 2, each clamping member 13 forms a snap connection with the clamping portion 211 to restrict movement of the operating member 20 relative to the support body 10 in the first direction D1 and the direction opposite to the first direction D1. The clamping members 13 also restrict rotation of the operating member 20 relative to the support body 10 about the first axis L1. During assembly, the operating shaft 21 of the operating member 20 is inserted into the space enclosed by the clamping members 13 along the first direction D1, completing the snap connection between the clamping portion 211 and the clamping members 13, thereby completing the installation of the operating member 20. This improves installation efficiency. Specifically, in the exemplary embodiment, as shown in Figures 2 and 3 , the engaging portion 211 has an annular engaging groove 212. As shown in Figure 2 , the support body 10 has a main body portion 11. Each engaging member 13 has one end (i.e., the upper end in Figure 2 ) fixedly connected to the main body portion 11 along the first direction D1, and the other end (i.e., the lower end in Figure 2 ) is free and has a locking block 131. The locking block 131 is inserted into the engaging groove 212 to form a snap-fit connection. This structure provides good stability.A snap-fit connection is a connection method that creates a specific constraint on a part through the combined action of a positioning component and a locking component, either integrated or separate. The locking component deforms during assembly and then returns to its original position, thereby locking and providing a retaining force. In this exemplary embodiment, the snap-fit component 13 serves as the locking component, and the snap-fit portion 211 serves as the positioning component. As shown in Figures 2 and 3 , in this exemplary embodiment, the operating member 20 further includes a knob 22. The knob 22 is located on one side of the operating shaft 21 along the first direction D1 (i.e., the upper side in Figures 2 and 3 ) and is fixedly connected to the operating shaft 21. The knob 22 is configured for manual operation. The indicator member 50 includes a shaft portion 52 axially parallel to the first direction D1. The shaft portion 52 is rotatably connected about a first axis L1 and extends through the knob 22 and the operating shaft 21. The indicator portion 51 is fixedly connected to the end of the shaft portion 52 that extends from the knob 22. This helps improve stability during movement. As shown in Figures 2 and 3 , in the exemplary embodiment, the operating shaft 21 has a stopper 213 disposed around the rotating shaft portion 52. The stopper 213 may be, for example, stepped, but is not limited thereto. The stopper 213 can abut against the rotating shaft portion 52 in a direction opposite to the first direction D1. The valve actuator also includes a cover 84 . The cover 84 is connected to the knob 22 and forms a cavity 24 with the knob 22 to accommodate the indicator portion 51. The cover 84 is provided with a pointed portion 841 protruding in the first direction D1. The tip of the pointed portion 841 (i.e., the lower end in Figures 2 and 3 ) can abut against the portion of the indicator portion 51 that coincides with the first axis L1 in the first direction D1. This simple structure can limit the position of the indicator member 50 relative to the operating member 20 in the first direction D1. Furthermore, the provision of the cover 84 helps prevent the ingress of contaminants (liquids or dust). The transparency of the cover 84 is configured, for example, to allow viewing of the indicator portion 51 through the cover 84. As shown in Figures 3 and 4, in the exemplary embodiment, the first transmission unit 40 includes a first transmission gear 41, a double gear 42, and a second transmission gear 43. The first transmission gear 41 is configured to rotate relative to the support body 10 about a first axis L1. The operating member 20 is keyed to the first transmission gear 41. The double gear 42 is configured to rotate relative to the support body 10 about a second axis L2 parallel to the first axis L1. The double gear 42 has a first ring gear 421 and a second ring gear 422. The first ring gear 421 meshes with the first transmission gear 41.The second transmission gear 43 is configured to rotate relative to the support body 10 about the first axis L1 and meshes with the second ring gear 422. The second transmission gear 43 is keyed to the output shaft 30. For example, the second transmission gear 43 is sleeved around the output shaft 30 to save space, but this is not limited to this. In this manner, the rotating operating member 20 sequentially drives the output shaft 30 via the first transmission gear 41, the double gear 42, and the second transmission gear 43. In the exemplary embodiment, the transmission ratio between the first transmission gear 41 and the first ring gear 421 is greater than 1, and the transmission ratio between the second ring gear 422 and the second transmission gear 43 is greater than 1. Setting these transmission ratios effectively reduces operating torque, easing operation. The second transmission gear 43 can be, for example, a sector gear to save space, but this is not limited to this. Furthermore, in the exemplary embodiment, as shown in Figures 3 and 4 , the first transmission gear 41 has an assembly hole 411 extending through it in the first direction D1. The operating member 20 is inserted into one end of the assembly hole 411 in the first direction D1 (i.e., the upper end in Figures 3 and 4 ) for keyed connection with the first transmission gear 41. The output shaft 30 is rotatably inserted about the first axis L1 into the other end of the assembly hole 411 in the first direction D1 (i.e., the lower end in Figures 3 and 4 ). The indicator member 50 extends into the assembly hole 411 at one end (i.e., the lower end in Figures 3 and 4 ) extending beyond the operating member 20 in the first direction D1 and into the output shaft 30 for keyed connection. This structure improves stability during operation. The end of the output shaft 30 inserted into the assembly hole 411 is rotatably connected to the first transmission gear 41 via, for example, a bearing (the dotted structure in Figures 3 and 4 ), but is not limited thereto. As shown in Figure 1, in the exemplary embodiment, the indicator 51 is configured as a pointer pointing perpendicular to the first axis L1. The support body 10 is provided with a dial 14 to cooperate with the pointer to determine the rotational position of the indicator 50 relative to the support body 10. This facilitates determination of the actual rotational position of the output shaft. As shown in Figure 2, in the exemplary embodiment, the valve actuator further includes a motor 60 and a second transmission unit 70. The second transmission unit 70 is drivably connected to the motor 60 and the first transmission unit 40, enabling the motor 60 to drive the output shaft 30 to rotate via the second transmission unit 70 and the first transmission unit 40. This achieves automatic actuation. In other exemplary embodiments, the motor can also be replaced with a pneumatic or hydraulic device.Specifically, as shown in FIG6 , the second transmission unit 70 is a fixed-axis gear train comprising a third transmission gear 71, a fourth transmission gear 72, a fifth transmission gear 73, and a sixth transmission gear 74, which are meshed in sequence. The third transmission gear 71 is fixedly connected to the output shaft of the motor 60. The sixth transmission gear 74 meshes with the duplex gear 42. For example, the fourth, fifth, and sixth transmission gears 72, 73, 74 are all duplex gears to facilitate torque adjustment. Referring to FIG6 , in the exemplary embodiment, the fifth transmission gear 73 is also movable relative to the support body 10 in a first direction D1 and a direction opposite to the first direction D1, switching between a position meshed with the sixth transmission gear 74 (i.e., the position shown in FIG6 ) and a position disengaged from the sixth transmission gear 74 (i.e., moving downward from the position shown in FIG6 to a position disengaged from the sixth transmission gear 74). As shown in FIG7 , the valve actuator further includes a first elastic member 81, a separator 82, and a second elastic member 83. The first elastic member 81 is capable of applying an elastic force to the fifth transmission gear 73, thereby maintaining the fifth transmission gear 73 in a position connected to the transmission path of the fixed-axis gear train (i.e., a position meshing with the sixth transmission gear 74). The separator 82 is movably connected to the support body 10 in a first direction D1 and a direction opposite to the first direction D1. The separator 82 is capable of moving in the first direction D1 to abut against the fifth transmission gear 73, thereby moving the fifth transmission gear 73 to a position disconnected from the transmission path of the fixed-axis gear train (i.e., a position disengaged from the sixth transmission gear 74). The second elastic member 83 is capable of applying an elastic force to the separator 82, thereby moving the separator 82 in a direction opposite to the first direction D1. The first and second elastic members 81, 83 are, for example, compression springs, but are not limited thereto. During use, manually pressing the release member 82 in the first direction D1 pushes the fifth transmission gear 73 to a position disengaged from the sixth transmission gear 74. At this point, rotating the operating member 20 to adjust the angle of the output shaft 30 does not encounter resistance from the motor 60, facilitating manual operation. When the release member 82 is released, the second elastic member 83 acts to move the release member 82 in the direction opposite to the first direction D1. Without the support provided by the release member 82, the fifth transmission gear 73, under the action of the first elastic member 81, moves in the direction opposite to the first direction D1 to a position meshing with the sixth transmission gear 74. In the exemplary embodiment, the support body 10, for example, is provided with a cavity, within which the first transmission unit 40, the motor 60, and the second transmission unit 70 are disposed. The support body 10 is, for example, composed of multiple components for ease of assembly. For example, sealing rings are provided between the operating member 20 and the support body 10, and between the output shaft 30 and the support body 10, to prevent contaminants such as liquids from entering the cavity, thereby protecting the structures within the cavity.
