Abstract
Description
Method for providing images and electronic devices supporting the same
[0001] The present disclosure relates to a method for providing an image and an electronic device supporting the same.
[0002] Electronic devices, such as smartphones, provide image editing capabilities. For example, the electronic device can acquire an image through a camera or from memory (or an external electronic device). The electronic device can edit (e.g., correct) the acquired image by changing the properties of the acquired image based on user input using an image editing program. For example, the electronic device can provide a filter function that can change the properties of an image (e.g., an original image). While displaying an image, the electronic device can display thumbnail images representing a plurality of filters that can change the properties of the image (e.g., can provide a filter function). When a thumbnail image is selected from among the thumbnail images based on user input, the electronic device can edit the image by applying a filter corresponding to the selected thumbnail image to the displayed image.
[0003] The above information may be provided as background art to aid in understanding the present disclosure. No claim or determination is made as to whether any of the above is applicable as prior art related to the present disclosure.
[0004] An electronic device performs an editing operation on each of the multiple images in order to edit the multiple images. For example, in order to edit image 1 and image 2, the electronic device individually performs an editing operation on image 1 and an editing operation on image 2.
[0005] If a user has a preferred image, the user may want to apply the properties of that image to other images (e.g., multiple images similar to that image) simultaneously. Alternatively, the user may want to apply the properties of the corrected image to other images simultaneously after correcting one image. Accordingly, the electronic device may need to provide a function that allows the properties of the user's preferred image or the properties of an image corrected by the user to be applied to other images simultaneously.
[0006] The present disclosure relates to a method for providing an image and an electronic device supporting the same, which can apply properties of an image (e.g., an image selected by a user input) to other images at once.
[0007] The technical problems to be solved by the present disclosure are not limited to the technical problems mentioned above, and other technical problems not mentioned can be clearly understood by a person having ordinary skill in the technical field related to this document from the description below.

[0066] In one embodiment, camera settings may be set (or adjusted) based on an image acquired through the camera (220). For example, at least a portion of the camera settings (e.g., ISO value, shutter speed) may be set (or adjusted) based on a shooting environment (e.g., ambient brightness of the camera (220), amount of light sensed by the camera (220)) analyzed based on a preview image acquired through the camera (220).
[0067] In one embodiment, the memory (230) may be included in the memory (130) of FIG. 1.
[0068] In one embodiment, the memory (230) can store images. For example, the memory (230) can store images acquired through the camera (220). For example, if the image stored in the memory (230) has been corrected, the memory (230) can store the corrected image. For example, the memory (230) can store images received from an external electronic device (e.g., electronic device (102), electronic device (104)) through a communication circuit (e.g., communication module (190) of FIG. 1).
[0069] In one embodiment, the memory (230) may store information for performing an operation of providing an image. The information stored by the memory (230) for performing an operation of providing an image will be described in detail below.
[0070] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may be included in the processor (120) of FIG. 1.
[0071] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may control the overall operation of providing an image. The processor (240) may include one or more processors for performing the operation of providing an image. The operation of providing an image performed by the processor (240) will be described in detail with reference to the drawings below, FIG. 3.
[0072] Although the electronic device (201) in FIG. 2 is exemplified as including a display (210), a camera (220), a memory (230), and / or a processor (240), it is not limited thereto. For example, the electronic device (201) may further include at least one component (e.g., a communication module (190)) among the components included in the electronic device (101) of FIG. 1.
[0073] FIG. 3 is a flowchart (300) for explaining a method of providing an image according to one embodiment.
[0074] Referring to FIG. 3, in operation 301, in one embodiment, the processor (240) may acquire a first image.
[0075] In one embodiment, the first image may be an image (hereinafter referred to as the "first image") that serves as a reference for correcting one or more images. For example, the first image may be an image having values of attributes for correcting one or more images.
[0076] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may obtain a first image based on a user input for selecting a first image from among a plurality of images stored in the memory (230). For example, the processor (240) may display a plurality of images stored in the memory (230) through the display (210) based on executing an image application (e.g., a gallery application). The processor (240) may obtain the first image by selecting the first image from among the plurality of images based on the user input. However, the operation of obtaining the first image is not limited to the example described above. For example, the processor (240) may obtain an image (e.g., a captured image) through the camera (220). The processor (240) may obtain the first image by determining the image obtained through the camera (220) as the first image that serves as a reference for correcting one or more images.
[0077] In operation 303, in one embodiment, the processor (240) may select one or more second images from among a plurality of images stored in the memory (230) based on metadata of the first image.
[0078] In one embodiment, the one or more second images may be one or more images to be corrected based on the first image (hereinafter referred to as "one or more second images"). For example, the one or more second images may be one or more images to be corrected based on the first image (e.g., attribute values of the first image).
[0079] In one embodiment, the metadata of an image (e.g., a first image) may include a unique identifier (ID) of the image, a title (or name) of the image, a creation time of the image, a creation location of the image, and / or information about editing (or correction) of the image (e.g., an identifier of a filter applied to the image, an attribute value of the filter). However, the information included in the metadata of the image is not limited to the examples described above.
[0080] In one embodiment, metadata of an image (e.g., a first image) may be combined with data of the image (image data) and created as a single file, or may be created as a separate file from the data of the image and stored in memory (230).
[0081] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may select one or more second images from among a plurality of images stored in the memory (230) based on a creation time of the first image and / or a creation location of the first image, which are included in the metadata of the first image.
[0082] In one embodiment, the creation time of the first image, included in the metadata of the first image, may include the date and time the first image was taken (e.g., 10:35 AM on February 14, 2024).
[0083] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may select one or more second images acquired (e.g., captured by the camera (220)) within a specified time range (hereinafter also referred to as “specified time range”) based on the creation time of the first image (e.g., creation date and creation time of the first image) included in the metadata of the first image, from among the plurality of images stored in the memory (230). For example, the processor (240) may check the creation times of each of the plurality of images included in the metadata of the plurality of images stored in the memory (230). The processor (240) may select, based on the respective generation times of the plurality of images, images generated (e.g., photographed) at a time within a time range from the generation time of the first image to a time before a time specified based on the generation time of the first image (e.g., about 5 minutes) and / or within a time range from the generation time of the first image to a time after a time specified based on the generation time of the first image, as one or more second images.
[0084] In one embodiment, the specified time range may be a default time range. In one embodiment, the processor (240) may specify a time range for selecting one or more second images based on a creation time of the first image included in the metadata of the first image, based on user input.
[0085] In one embodiment, the location of creation of the first image, included in the metadata of the first image, may include information about the location where the first image was captured. For example, the location of creation of the first image may include the latitude and longitude of the location where the first image was captured, the address of the location where the first image was captured, and / or the location of the location where the first image was captured.
[0086] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may select one or more second images (e.g., photographed through the camera (220)) acquired within a specified distance (e.g., radius) (hereinafter, also referred to as “specified distance”) based on the generation location of the first image included in the metadata of the first image, from among the plurality of images stored in the memory (230). For example, the processor (240) may identify the generation locations of each of the plurality of images included in the metadata of the plurality of images stored in the memory (230). Based on the generation locations of each of the plurality of images, the processor (240) may select, from among the plurality of images, images that were generated (e.g., photographed) at a location within the specified radius from the generation location of the first image as one or more second images.
[0087] In one embodiment, the specified distance may be a default distance. In one embodiment, the processor (240) may specify a distance for selecting one or more second images based on a creation location of the first image included in the metadata of the first image, based on a user input.
[0088] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may select, from among a plurality of images stored in the memory (230), one or more first images acquired (e.g., photographed) within a time range specified based on a generation location of the first image included in the metadata of the first image and acquired within a distance specified based on a generation location of the first image included in the metadata of the first image.
[0089] In the examples described above, one or more second images are selected from among a plurality of images stored in the memory (230) based on metadata of the first image (e.g., creation time and / or creation location of the first image), but this is not limited thereto.
[0090] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may select one or more second images from among a plurality of images stored in the memory (230) based on an object included in the first image. For example, the processor (240) may detect information about an object included in the first image (e.g., a type of object and / or a subject represented by the object) using an object detection algorithm or a designated artificial intelligence model. The processor (240) may select, from among a plurality of images stored in the memory (230), images that include an object corresponding to the same subject (e.g., a person, an animal, an object) as the object included in the first image (e.g., a subject represented by the object), as one or more second images.
[0091] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may select one or more second images from among a plurality of images stored in the memory (230) based on a creation time and / or a creation location of the first image included in the metadata of the first image and an object included in the first image.
[0092] In operation 305, in one embodiment, the processor (240) may obtain a third image by correcting the first image based on user input.
[0093] In one embodiment, the third image may be an image (hereinafter referred to as a "third image") obtained (e.g., generated) by changing at least one attribute value among the values of a plurality of attributes of the first image. For example, the third image may be an image having a plurality of attribute values in which at least some of the attribute values of the first image are changed.
[0094] In one embodiment, the plurality of attributes of an image (e.g., a first image) may include exposure, brightness, contrast (also referred to as “contrast”), highlight, shadow, chroma, color temperature, tint, sharpness, and / or clarity. However, the plurality of attributes of the image are not limited to the examples described above.
[0095] In one embodiment, the values of the plurality of attributes of the image (the first image) may be values for representing (e.g., expressing) degrees (e.g., levels) of the plurality of attributes of the image.
[0096] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may display, through the display (210), an object (e.g., a graphic object) (or a user interface) for setting (e.g., adjusting) a plurality of attribute values of the first image based on the acquisition of the first image. In one embodiment, the processor (240) may adjust the plurality of attribute values of the first image based on a user input for the object for setting the plurality of attribute values of the first image. For example, the processor (240) may adjust the plurality of attribute values of the first image (e.g., intensities corresponding to the plurality of attribute values of the first image) based on the user input for the object for setting the plurality of attribute values of the first image. The processor (240) may acquire a third image by adjusting the plurality of attribute values of the first image. However, the operation of obtaining a third image by changing at least one attribute value among a plurality of attribute values of the first image is not limited to the examples described above. For example, the processor (240) may obtain the third image by applying a filter (e.g., a filter that can apply a specified visual effect or a specified style to the image) to the first image.
[0097] In FIG. 3, operation 303 is illustrated as being performed prior to operation 305, but is not limited thereto. For example, the processor (240) may perform operation 303 after performing operation 305.
[0098] In operation 307, in one embodiment, the processor (240) may obtain one or more fourth images by correcting one or more second images based on the third image.
[0099] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may obtain one or more fourth images by changing (e.g., adjusting) the values of the plurality of attributes of each of one or more second images based on the values of the plurality of attributes of the third image. For example, the processor (240) may change the plurality of attribute values of the one or more second images to change the one or more second images into one or more fourth images having the same plurality of attribute values as the values of the plurality of attributes of the third image. However, the present invention is not limited thereto. For example, the processor (240) may change the plurality of attribute values of the one or more second images to change the one or more second images into one or more fourth images having the same plurality of attribute values as some of the values of the plurality of attributes of the third image. For example, the processor (240) can change the plurality of attribute values of one or more second images to one or more fourth images having attribute values that are identical to the attribute values adjusted based on user input among the values of the plurality of attributes of the third image.
[0100] In one embodiment, the one or more fourth images may be images obtained (e.g., generated) by applying values of a plurality of attributes of the third image to each of one or more second images (e.g., attributes of the one or more second images) (hereinafter referred to as “one or more fourth images”). For example, if the one or more second images include image 1 and image 2, the processor (240) may obtain image 3 by applying values of a plurality of attributes of the third image to image 1, and may obtain image 4 by applying values of a plurality of attributes of the third image to image 2. In this case, image 3 and image 4 may be included in the one or more fourth images.
[0101] In one embodiment, the processor (240) can obtain one or more fourth images by simultaneously correcting one or more second images based on the third image. For example, the processor (240) can obtain one or more fourth images by sequentially correcting one or more second images based on the third image. For example, the processor (240) can obtain one or more fourth images by performing operations of correcting each of the one or more second images based on the third image in parallel. For example, the processor (240) can obtain one or more fourth images by correcting one or more second images based on the third image without additional user input.
[0102] In the examples described above, one or more second images are corrected based on a third image obtained by correcting the first image, but this is not limited thereto. In one embodiment, the processor (240) may obtain one or more fourth images by correcting one or more second images based on the first image when no user input for correcting the first image is obtained after the first image is obtained in operation 301. For example, the processor (240) may obtain one or more fourth images by applying values of a plurality of properties of the first image to one or more second images when no user input for correcting the first image is obtained after the first image is obtained (e.g., when the user does not want to correct the first image).
[0103] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may acquire one or more fourth images in addition to the one or more second images. For example, the processor (240) may store one or more fourth images in the memory (230) based on acquiring one or more fourth images based on the one or more second images without deleting one or more second images from the memory (230). However, the present invention is not limited thereto. For example, the processor (240) may store one or more fourth images and information for restoring one or more second images from the one or more fourth images in the memory (230), and delete one or more second images from the memory (230). For example, the processor (240) may store one or more fourth images in the memory (230) based on acquiring one or more fourth images, and store one or more second images in the memory (230) without storing information in the memory (230) for restoring one or more second images from the one or more fourth images.
[0104] Although not illustrated in FIG. 3, in one embodiment, the processor (240) may display one or more fourth images through the display (210). For example, the processor (240) may display, through the display (210), an execution screen of a gallery application including thumbnail images corresponding to one or more fourth images.
[0105] FIGS. 4A and 4B are drawings illustrating a method of providing an image according to one embodiment.
[0106] Referring to FIGS. 4A and 4B , in one embodiment, at reference numeral 401, the processor (240) may display a screen (410) including a plurality of images (e.g., images (411, 412, 413)) stored in the memory (230) through the display (210) based on the gallery application being executed. For example, the processor (240) may display a plurality of images (e.g., images (411, 412, 413)) stored in the memory (230) in the form of thumbnails through the display (210) based on the gallery application being executed. While the plurality of images (e.g., images (411, 412, 413)) are being displayed, the processor (240) may select a first image (411) from among the plurality of images (e.g., images (411, 412, 413)) based on a user input. The processor (240) may display an object (411-1) indicating that the first image (411) is selected within the first image (411) through the display (210) based on the selection of the first image (411) from among a plurality of images (e.g., images (411, 412, 413)).
[0107] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may display an object (or menu) on the display (210) for selecting one or more second images from among a plurality of images stored in the memory (230) based on metadata of the first image (e.g., a creation time of the first image and / or a creation location of the first image included in the metadata of the first image) (and / or an object included in the first image) based on the selection of the first image (or based on a user input after the selection of the first image (411)). For example, at reference numeral 401, the processor (240) may display a window (414) including objects corresponding to functions related to the first image (411) through the display (210) based on the selection of the first image (411). The processor (240) may perform an operation of selecting one or more second images from among the plurality of images stored in the memory (230) based on metadata of the first image, based on a user input of selecting an object (415) for selecting one or more second images from among the plurality of images stored in the memory (230) among the objects included in the window (414).
[0108] In one embodiment, at reference numeral 402, the processor (240) may display, through the display (210), a screen (420) including a first image (411) and one or more second images (e.g., images (421, 422, 423)) displayed in thumbnail form, based on selection of one or more second images (e.g., images (421, 422, 423)).
[0109] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may display, through the display (210), objects (e.g., objects (421-1, 422-1, 423-1)) indicating that one or more of the second images (e.g., images (421, 422, 423)) are selected as targets of correction with respect to the first image (411) within one or more second images (e.g., images (421, 422, 423)).
[0110] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may deselect at least some of the one or more second images (e.g., images (421, 422, 423)) based on user input for at least some of the one or more second images (e.g., images (421, 422, 423)) after the one or more second images (e.g., images (421, 422, 423)) have been selected. For example, the processor (240) may deselect the image (421) (e.g., exclude the image (421) from being corrected based on the first image (411)) based on user input for the image (421) after the image (421) has been selected. The processor (240) can control the display (210) so that the object (421-1) disappears within the image (421) when the selection for the image (421) is deactivated.
[0111] In one embodiment, at reference numerals 402 and 403, the processor (240) may display a screen (430) including objects (e.g., objects (432)) for editing the first image (411) along with the first image (411) and one or more second images (e.g., images (421, 422, 423)) displayed in thumbnail form, through the display (210), based on a user input for an object (425) (e.g., an icon) for editing the first image (411).
[0112] In one embodiment, at reference numerals 403 and 404, the processor (240) may display, through the display (210), a screen (440) including objects (or user interfaces) for adjusting values of a plurality of attributes of the first image (411), together with the first image (411) and one or more second images (e.g., images (421, 422, 423)) displayed in thumbnail form, based on a user input for an object (432) for correcting the first image (411). For example, the processor (240) may display, through the display (210), an object (441) indicating exposure, a bar-shaped object (441-1), and an object (441-2) (also referred to as a “slider”) that is movable on the object (441-1) based on user input, in order to adjust the exposure of the first image (411). For example, the processor (240) may display, through the display (210), an object (442) indicating brightness, a bar-shaped object (442-1), and an object (442-2) that is movable on the object (441-1) based on user input, in order to adjust the brightness of the first image (411).
[0113] In one embodiment, the processor (240) can adjust the value of an attribute of the first image (411) based on a user input. In one embodiment, the processor (240) can adjust the value of the exposure (e.g., the intensity of the exposure) of the first image (411) by moving the position of the object (441-2) on the object (441-1) based on the user input. For example, the processor (240) can increase the value of the exposure (e.g., an attribute representing the brightness of the entire area of the first image (411)) of the first image (411) based on a drag input for the object (441-2) to move the position of the object (441-2) set as default on the object (441-1) in the right direction (e.g., the center position of the object (441-1)). For example, the processor (240) may decrease the exposure value of the first image (411) based on a drag input to the object (441-2) to move the position of the object (441-2) set as default on the object (441-1) to the left. In one embodiment, the processor (240) may adjust the brightness value of the first image (411) (e.g., an attribute representing the brightness of an area having a brightness value below a threshold brightness value within the first image (411)) by moving the position of the object (442-2) on the object (442-1) based on the user input.
[0114] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may adjust the values of at least some of the plurality of attributes of the first image (411) by analyzing the first image (411) based on user input for the object (445). For example, the processor (240) may automatically adjust the values of at least some of the plurality of attributes of the first image (411) so that the first image (411) has optimized attribute values based on user input for the object (445).
[0115] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may obtain a third image of the first image (411) that has been corrected based on a user input for the object (428) after correction is performed on the first image (411). The processor (240) may obtain one or more fourth images by applying values of a plurality of attributes of the third image to one or more second images (e.g., images (421, 422, 423)) based on a user input for the object (428) after correction is performed on the first image (411).
[0116] In one embodiment, the processor (240) can restore the first image (411) based on a user input for the object (427) after correction is performed on the first image (411) or while correction is performed on the first image (411). For example, the processor (240) can restore the first image (411) to the original image before correction by removing a correction effect that was applied to the first image (411) based on a user input for the object (427) after correction is performed on the first image (411) or while correction is performed on the first image (411).
[0117] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may, at reference numeral 404, deselect at least some of the one or more second images (e.g., images (421, 422, 423)) based on user input for at least some of the one or more second images (e.g., images (421, 422, 423)) before obtaining user input for the object (428) after performing the correction. The processor (240) may, after deselecting some of the one or more second images (e.g., images (421, 422, 423)), perform an operation of applying values of a plurality of attributes of a third image to at least one second image that is finally selected from among the one or more second images (e.g., images (421, 422, 423)) based on user input for the object (428) obtained.
[0118] FIGS. 5A and 5B are drawings illustrating a method of providing an image according to one embodiment.
[0119] Referring to FIGS. 5A and 5B , in one embodiment, at reference numeral 501, the processor (240) may display a screen (510) including a plurality of images (e.g., images (511, 512, 513)) stored in the memory (230) through the display (210) based on the gallery application being executed. For example, the processor (240) may display a plurality of images (e.g., images (511, 512, 513)) stored in the memory (230) in the form of thumbnails through the display (210) based on the gallery application being executed. The processor (240) may select a first image (511) from among the plurality of images (e.g., images (511, 512, 513)) based on a user input while the plurality of images (e.g., images (511, 512, 513)) are displayed.
[0120] In one embodiment, at reference numeral 502, the processor (240) may select one or more second images (e.g., images (521, 522)) based on the metadata of the first image (e.g., the creation time of the first image and / or the creation location of the first image included in the metadata of the first image) (and / or an object included in the first image) based on the selection of the first image (or based on user input after the selection of the first image (511)). The processor (240) may display, through the display (210), a screen (520) including the first image (511) and one or more second images (e.g., images (521, 522)) displayed in thumbnail form, based on the selection of the one or more second images (e.g., images (521, 522)).
[0121] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may display, through the display (210), objects (e.g., objects (521-1, 522-1)) indicating that one or more of the second images (e.g., images (521, 522)) are selected as targets of correction with respect to the first image (511) within one or more second images (e.g., images (521, 522)). In one embodiment, the processor (240) may display, through the display (210), an object (523) for scrolling for an area in which one or more of the second images (e.g., images (521, 522)) are displayed.
[0122] In one embodiment, at reference numeral 503, the processor (240) may display, through the display (210), a user interface (531) including objects (or user interfaces) for adjusting values of a plurality of attributes of the first image (511), together with the first image (511) and one or more second images (e.g., images (521, 522)) displayed in thumbnail form, based on a user input for correcting the first image (511). For example, the processor (240) may display, through the display (210), an object (532) representing exposure, a bar-shaped object (532-1), and an object (532-2) movable on the object (532-1) based on the user input, in order to adjust the exposure of the first image (511). For example, the processor (240) may display an object (533) representing brightness, a bar-shaped object (533-1), and an object (533-2) movable on the object (533-1) based on user input through the display (210) in order to adjust the brightness of the first image (511). For example, the processor (240) may display an object (534) representing contrast, a bar-shaped object (534-1), and an object (534-2) movable on the object (534-1) based on user input through the display (210) in order to adjust the contrast of the first image (511).
[0123] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may adjust the value of an attribute of the first image (511) based on a user input to the user interface (531) (e.g., a user input for objects (532-2, 533-2, 534-2)). The operation of adjusting the value of an attribute of the first image (511) based on the user input to the user interface (531) is at least partially the same as or similar to the operation of adjusting the value of an attribute of the first image (411) based on the user input for objects (e.g., objects (441-2, 442-2)) in reference numeral 404 of FIG. 4, and therefore, a detailed description thereof will be omitted.
[0124] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may obtain a third image in which the first image (511) is corrected by performing correction on the first image (511) at reference numerals 503 and 504. The processor (240) may obtain one or more fourth images (e.g., images (541, 542, 543)) by applying a plurality of attribute values of the third image to one or more second images (e.g., images (521, 522)). Based on the obtaining of the one or more fourth images (e.g., images (541, 542, 543)), the processor (240) may display the one or more fourth images (e.g., images (541, 542, 543)) in the form of thumbnails through the display (210), as illustrated at reference numeral 504.
[0125] FIG. 6 is a flowchart (600) for explaining a method of providing an image according to one embodiment.
[0126] FIG. 7 is a diagram illustrating a method for providing an image according to one embodiment.
[0127] Referring to FIGS. 6 and 7, in operation 601, in one embodiment, the processor (240) may select a plurality of images based on user input.
[0128] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may display images in the memory (230) through the display (210) based on executing an image application (e.g., a gallery application). The processor (240) may select a plurality of images (hereinafter referred to as “a plurality of images”) from among the images based on a user input. Based on the selection of a plurality of images from among the images, the processor (240) may display a screen (710) including a plurality of images (e.g., images (711, 712)) selected based on the user input through the display (210), as illustrated in reference numeral 701 of FIG. 7. The processor (240) may display objects (e.g., objects (711-1, 712-1)) indicating that the plurality of images (e.g., images (711, 712)) are selected, together with a plurality of images (e.g., images (711, 712)), through the display (210) within the plurality of images (e.g., images (711, 712)).
[0129] In operation 603, in one embodiment, the processor (240) may determine a representative image based on attribute values of a plurality of images.
[0130] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may determine a representative image among the plurality of images based on attribute values (e.g., exposure, brightness, contrast, highlight, shadow, saturation, color temperature (white balance), tint, sharpness, and / or clarity) of the plurality of images (e.g., the plurality of images selected in operation 601).
[0131] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may analyze (e.g., extract) values of a plurality of attributes of a plurality of images for each of the plurality of attributes. The processor (240) may obtain (e.g., calculate) averages of values of a plurality of attributes of a plurality of images for each of the plurality of attributes. For example, the processor (240) may calculate an average of exposures of the plurality of images. For example, the processor (240) may calculate an average of brightnesses of the plurality of images.
[0132] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may determine, as a representative image, an image among the plurality of images having attribute values closest to the averages of the plurality of attribute values based on the differences between the plurality of attribute values of the plurality of images and the averages of the plurality of attribute values. For example, the processor (240) may calculate, for each of the plurality of images, the sums (or sums of squares) of the differences between the plurality of attribute values and the averages of the plurality of attributes. The processor (240) may determine, as a representative image, an image among the plurality of images having the minimum value among the sums of the differences between the plurality of attribute values and the averages of the plurality of attributes. However, the method for determining the representative image is not limited to the examples described above.
[0133] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may determine a representative image among the plurality of images based on the compositions of the plurality of images (e.g., the position of an object and / or the direction in which the object is facing within each of the plurality of images).
[0134] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may calculate, from each of a plurality of images, a position of an object included in the image (e.g., coordinates of the object within the image) and / or a horizontal angle (e.g., angle between a horizontal axis of the object and a horizontal axis of the image) and a vertical angle (e.g., angle between a vertical axis of the object and a vertical axis of the image) of the object included in the image (hereinafter referred to as “a value of the composition of the image”).
[0135] In one embodiment, the processor (240) can calculate an average of the positions of objects included in each of the plurality of images, an average of the horizontal angles, and an average of the vertical angles (hereinafter referred to as “average of the composition of the plurality of images”).
[0136] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may determine, among a plurality of images, an image in which the difference between the composition value of the image and the average of the compositions of the plurality of images is minimal, as a representative image.
[0137] In one embodiment, the processor (240) can determine a representative image based on attribute values of a plurality of images and compositions of the plurality of images.
[0138] In one embodiment, reference numeral 702 may represent a representative image (720) determined from among a plurality of images (e.g., images (711, 712)). For example, the representative image (720) may be an image in which an object (e.g., a cake) included in the representative image (720) is positioned at the center of the representative image (720), the entire area of the object is included within the representative image (720), and the horizontal angle and the horizontal angle are substantially 0 degrees.
[0139] In operation 605, in one embodiment, the processor (240) may correct a plurality of images based on the representative image.
[0140] In one embodiment, the processor (240) can correct a plurality of images by applying a plurality of attribute values of the representative image to the plurality of images (e.g., the plurality of images selected in operation 601).
[0141] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may, after a representative image is determined, select one or more images to which multiple attribute values of the representative image are to be applied based on user input. In operation 603, the processor (240) may, after a representative image is determined based on the attribute values of the multiple images, select one or more images to which multiple attribute values of the representative image are to be applied based on user input.
[0142] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may select one or more images from among a plurality of images to which the plurality of attribute values of the representative image will be applied. However, the present invention is not limited thereto, and the processor (240) may also select one or more images from among images stored in the memory (230) in addition to the plurality of images to which the plurality of attribute values of the representative image will be applied.
[0143] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may display the corrected plurality of images through the display (210) based on the correction of the plurality of images. For example, the processor (240) may display a screen (730) including the corrected plurality of images (731, 732, 733) through the display (210), as illustrated in reference numeral 703 of FIG. 7.
[0144] FIG. 8 is a flowchart (800) illustrating a method of providing an image according to one embodiment.
[0145] FIG. 9 is a diagram illustrating a method for providing an image according to one embodiment.
[0146] Referring to FIGS. 8 and 9, in operation 801, in one embodiment, the processor (240) may acquire an image through the camera (220). For example, the processor (240) may display a preview image through the display (210) based on the images acquired through the camera (220). While the preview image is displayed, the processor (240) may acquire an image (e.g., a captured image) (hereinafter referred to as a “first image”) based on a user input for capturing the image.
[0147] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may acquire a first image through the camera (220) based on camera setting values.
[0148] In one embodiment, camera settings may include exposure value (EV), shutter speed, International Organization for Standardization (ISO) value (also referred to as “ISO sensitivity”), white balance (WB), and / or focus information.
[0149] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may acquire a first image through the camera (220) based on camera settings set as default.
[0150] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may acquire a first image through the camera (220) based on camera setting values set based on user input. For example, the processor (240) may adjust a camera setting value set as default based on user input (hereinafter, a camera setting value adjusted from a camera setting value set as default based on user input is referred to as a “first camera setting value”). The processor (240) may acquire a first image through the camera (220) based on the first camera setting value.
[0151] In one embodiment, at reference numeral 901 of FIG. 9, the processor (240) may display a screen (910) including a preview image (911), an object (913) for adjusting a camera setting value (e.g., color temperature), and an object (912) for capturing an image, through the display (210). The processor (240) may adjust the camera setting value (e.g., color temperature) based on a user input for the object (913).
[0152] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may acquire a first image through the camera (220) based on camera setting values set based on an image (e.g., a preview image) acquired through the camera (220). For example, at least a portion of the camera setting values (e.g., an ISO value, a shutter speed) may be adjusted based on a shooting environment (e.g., ambient brightness of the camera (220), an amount of light sensed by the camera (220)) analyzed based on the preview image acquired through the camera (220) (hereinafter, the camera setting values adjusted from the camera setting values set as default based on the image acquired through the camera (220) are referred to as “second camera setting values”). The processor (240) may acquire the first image through the camera (220) based on the second camera setting values.
[0153] In operation 803, in one embodiment, the processor (240) may generate a filter associated with the image (first image) when the image (first image) is acquired using camera settings different from the default camera settings. For example, the processor (240) may generate a filter associated with the first image based on the fact that the first image is acquired using camera settings different from the default camera settings.
[0154] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may generate a filter associated with the first image when the first image is acquired by the first camera setting value and / or the second camera setting value.
[0155] In one embodiment, the filter associated with the first image may include a filter that can apply camera settings of the first image (and / or at least some of the plurality of attribute values of the first image) to one or more other images.
[0156] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may store a filter associated with the first image in the memory (230) based on the filter being generated associated with the first image.
[0157] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may display, through the display (210), an object indicating that a filter related to the first image is generated for the first image when displaying the first image. For example, in reference numeral 902 of FIG. 9, the processor (240) may display, through the display (210), an object (921-1) indicating that a filter related to the first image (921) is generated within the first image (921) when displaying a screen (920) including the first image (921) and other images (e.g., images (922, 923)) stored in the memory (230).
[0158] In operation 805, in one embodiment, the processor (240) may select one or more images (hereinafter referred to as “one or more second images”) from among a plurality of images stored in the memory (230).
[0159] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may select one or more second images from among a plurality of images stored in the memory (230) based on user input.
[0160] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may select one or more second images from among a plurality of images stored in the memory (230) based on the metadata of the first image. The operation of the processor (240) selecting one or more second images from among a plurality of images stored in the memory (230) based on the metadata of the first image is at least partially identical or similar to the operation described through operation 303 of FIG. 3, and therefore, a duplicate description thereof will be omitted.
[0161] In one embodiment, at reference numeral 903 of FIG. 9, the processor (240) may select one or more second images (e.g., images (931, 932, 933, 934, 935, 936, 937)) within a screen (930) displayed through the display (210).
[0162] In operation 807, in one embodiment, the processor (240) may correct one or more images (one or more second images) based on a filter (a filter associated with the first image).
[0163] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may apply camera settings of the first image (and / or at least some of the plurality of attribute values of the first image) to one or more second images using a filter associated with the first image. For example, the processor (240) may acquire the first camera (220) based on the first camera settings set to a shutter speed of 1 / 180 (s), an exposure value of +0.6, and a color temperature of 7300 K, and then select a second image having a shutter speed of 1 / 60 (s), an exposure value of +0.0, and a color temperature of 8000 K, and then correct the second image so that the second image has a shutter speed of 1 / 180 (s), an exposure value of +0.6, and a color temperature of 7300 K. However, the method of applying the camera settings of the first image (and / or at least some of the plurality of attribute values of the first image) to one or more second images by using a filter related to the first image is not limited to the examples described above.
[0164] Although not illustrated in FIGS. 8 and 9 , in one embodiment, the processor (240) may apply the filter associated with the first image to at least one other image after the first image and the filter associated with the first image are stored. For example, the processor (240) may display a plurality of images including the first image through the display (210) based on executing a gallery application after the first image and the filter associated with the first image are stored. The processor (240) may apply the filter associated with the first image to the selected at least one image by selecting at least one image from among the plurality of images to which the filter associated with the first image will be applied.
[0165] FIG. 10 is a flowchart (1000) illustrating a method for providing an image according to one embodiment.
[0166] FIG. 11 is a diagram illustrating a method for providing an image according to one embodiment.
[0167] Referring to FIGS. 10 and 11, in operation 1001, in one embodiment, the processor (240) may determine whether a condition for storing a second image (hereinafter referred to as a “second image”) to be acquired through the camera (220) in a raw file format is satisfied based on a first image (hereinafter referred to as a “first image”) acquired through the camera (220).
[0168] In one embodiment, a raw file may include an uncompressed (uncompressed) image. For example, a raw file may include image data for which no compression operation has been performed on an image acquired through the camera (220). In one embodiment, an image stored in the form of a raw file may be an image (e.g., a lossless image) that includes all information about light input to the image sensor of the camera (220). In one embodiment, an image stored in the form of a raw file may include an image having a bit depth of 12 bits (or 14 bits) or 16 bits as an unprocessed image. In one embodiment, the extension of a raw file may be DNG (digital negative). However, the present invention is not limited thereto, and the extension of a raw file may vary depending on the manufacturer of the camera (220) or the image sensor. In one embodiment, although the raw file is described as an uncompressed image in the above example, the present invention is not limited thereto. For example, a raw file may include a lossless compressed raw file or a compressed raw file.
[0169] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may determine whether a condition for storing a second image in a raw file format is satisfied based on a preview image as the first image. However, the present invention is not limited thereto. For example, the processor (240) may determine whether a condition for storing a second image in a raw file format is satisfied based on whether a plurality of images (e.g., a plurality of captured images) acquired prior to acquiring the second image satisfy a specified condition. This will be described in detail with reference to FIG. 13.
[0170] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may determine whether a condition for storing the second image in the raw file format (hereinafter referred to as the “first condition”) is satisfied based on the contrast of the first image (e.g., the difference between the brightness of the most stepped area and the brightness of the darkest area within the first image). For example, the processor (240) may determine that the first condition is satisfied based on the difference between the brightness of the most stepped area and the brightness of the darkest area within the first image being greater than or equal to a threshold. For example, the processor (240) may determine that the first condition is not satisfied based on the difference between the brightness of the most stepped area and the brightness of the darkest area within the first image being less than the threshold.
[0171] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may determine whether the first condition is satisfied based on the brightness of the first image. For example, the processor (240) may determine that the first condition is satisfied based on an average of the brightness values of the pixels of the first image being greater than or equal to a first threshold (e.g., when the first image is bright) or based on an average of the brightness values of the pixels of the first image being less than or equal to a second threshold (e.g., a second threshold less than the first threshold) (e.g., when the first image is dark). For example, the processor (240) may determine that the first condition is not satisfied based on an average of the brightness values of the pixels of the first image being greater than the second threshold and less than the first threshold.
[0172] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may determine whether the first condition is satisfied based on the noise in the first image. For example, the processor (240) may determine that the first condition is satisfied based on the amount of noise in the first image being greater than or equal to a threshold. For example, the processor (240) may determine that the first condition is not satisfied based on the amount of noise in the first image being less than a threshold.
[0173] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may determine that the first condition is satisfied based on whether the shooting mode of the camera (220) is set to a portrait shooting mode or a night shooting mode. However, the present invention is not limited thereto. For example, the processor (240) may determine that the first condition is satisfied based on whether the first image includes a person or the shooting environment of the first image is night.
[0174] However, the method for determining whether the conditions for storing the second image in the raw file format are satisfied is not limited to the examples described above. For example, the first condition may include any condition that makes storing the second image in the raw file format more suitable than storing it in another format (e.g., compressed file format).
[0175] In operation 1003, in one embodiment, the processor (240) may display guide information for storing the second image in the form of a file when acquiring the second image through the display (210) based on confirmation that the above condition (first condition) is satisfied.
[0176] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may display guide information through the display (210) that guides the user to set a mode (hereinafter, also referred to as “RAW shooting mode”) for saving the second image in the form of a raw file when acquiring the second image through the camera (220) based on the satisfaction of the first condition. For example, in reference numeral 1101 of FIG. 11, the processor (240) may display a screen (1110) including an area for displaying a preview image through the display (210). Based on confirmation that the first condition is satisfied based on the preview image, the processor (240) may display guide information (1121) through the display (210) that guides the user to set the RAW shooting mode, such as “Activate RAW now and shoot. RAW images provide uncompressed original images that are easy to correct, allowing the user to take their own photos.”
[0177] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may display an object indicating the RAW shooting mode through the display (210) together with the guide information based on the satisfaction of the first condition. For example, in reference numeral 1102 of FIG. 11, the processor (240) may display a screen (1120) including an object (1122) indicating the RAW shooting mode (e.g., an object for activating the RAW shooting mode) together with the guide information (1121) through the display (210) based on the satisfaction of the first condition.
[0178] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may activate the RAW shooting mode based on a user input for the object (1122). For example, in reference numerals 1102 and 1103 of FIG. 11, the processor (240) may activate the RAW shooting mode based on a user input for the object (1122). When the RAW shooting mode is activated, the processor (240) may display a screen (1130) including an object (1131) indicating that the RAW shooting mode is activated through the display (210).
[0179] In one embodiment, at reference numerals 1103 and 1104 of FIG. 11, the processor (240) may deactivate the RAW shooting mode based on a user input for the object (1122) after the RAW shooting mode is activated (e.g., while the RAW shooting mode is activated). When the RAW shooting mode is deactivated, the processor (240) may display a screen (1140) including an object (1141) indicating that the RAW shooting mode is deactivated through the display (210).
[0180] In operation 1005, in one embodiment, the processor (240) may acquire a second image based on a user input for an object (1112) for acquiring an image while the RAW shooting mode is activated, and store the acquired second image in the memory (230) in the form of a RAW file.
[0181] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may generate a second image in the form of a RAW file based on the second image being acquired while the RAW shooting mode is activated, and may generate the second image in a specified form (e.g., a compressed file format such as a Joint Photographic Experts Group (JPEG) format). The processor (240) may store the second image generated in the form of a RAW file and the second image generated in the specified form in the memory (230).
[0182] FIG. 12 is a diagram illustrating a method of storing an image according to one embodiment.
[0183] Referring to FIG. 12, in one embodiment, the processor (240) may store a second image acquired through the camera (220) in the form of a RAW file in the memory (230) while the RAW shooting mode is activated.
[0184] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may display a second image stored in the memory (230) in the form of a RAW file through the display (210). For example, in reference numeral 1201 of FIG. 12, the processor (240) may display a screen (1210) including a second image (1212) stored in the memory (230) in the form of a RAW file, an object (1211) indicating that the second image (1212) is an image stored in the form of a RAW file, and a thumbnail image (1212-1) of the second image (1212).
[0185] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may store a second image acquired through the camera (220) in the form of a RAW file in the memory (230) while the RAW shooting mode is activated, generate the second image in the form of a JPEG using a lossy compression method, and store the second image generated in the form of the JPEG in the memory (230).
[0186] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may display a second image stored in the memory (230) in the form of a JPEG file through the display (210). For example, in reference numeral 1202 of FIG. 12, the processor (240) may display a screen (1220) including a second image (1221) stored in the memory (230) in the form of a JPEG file and a thumbnail image (1221-1) of the second image (1221) through the display (210).
[0187] In the examples described above, the processor (240) is described as generating a second image acquired through the camera (220) in a RAW file format and a JPEG format while the RAW shooting mode is activated, and storing the second image generated in the RAW file format and the second image generated in the JPEG format in the memory (230), but is not limited thereto. For example, the processor (240) may generate a second image acquired through the camera (220) only in a RAW file format while the RAW shooting mode is activated, and store the second image generated in the RAW file format in the memory (230).
[0188] FIG. 13 is a flowchart (1300) illustrating a method of providing an image according to one embodiment.
[0189] Referring to FIG. 13, in operation 1301, in one embodiment, the processor (240) may acquire a 1-1 image (hereinafter referred to as “1-1 image”) and a 1-2 image (hereinafter referred to as “1-2 image”) through the camera (220).
[0190] In one embodiment, the first image and the first image may be images sequentially acquired (e.g., photographed) through the camera (220). For example, the processor (240) may acquire the first image based on a user input (e.g., a user input for acquiring a capture image) while displaying a preview image acquired through the camera (220). The processor (240) may display a preview image acquired through the camera (220) after acquiring the first image. The processor (240) may acquire the first image based on a user input (e.g., a user input for acquiring a capture image) while displaying a preview image acquired through the camera (220) after acquiring the first image.
[0191] In one embodiment, the first-second image may be an image acquired through the camera (220) within a specified time from the time of acquiring the first-first image.
[0192] In one embodiment, the 1-2 image may be an image acquired through the camera (220) without switching the screen after acquiring the 1-1 image. For example, the processor (240) may acquire the 1-1 image through the camera (220) while the execution screen of the camera application is displayed. If the processor (240) acquires the image through the camera (220) without switching the screen displayed through the display (210) from the camera application to another screen (e.g., a home screen) after acquiring the 1-1 image, the processor (240) may determine the acquired image as the 1-2 image.
[0193] In operation 1303, in one embodiment, the processor (240) may determine that the similarity between the first image and the first image is greater than or equal to a threshold similarity. For example, the processor (240) may compare the first image and the first image. Through the comparison, the processor (240) may determine whether the similarity between the first image and the first image is greater than or equal to a threshold similarity. In one embodiment, when the similarity between the first image and the first image is greater than or equal to the threshold similarity, it may be that the first image and the first image include substantially the same scene. In one embodiment, when the similarity between the first image and the first image is greater than or equal to the threshold similarity, it may be that the user wants to capture the same scene multiple times.
[0194] In one embodiment, the condition in which the similarity between the 1-1 image and the 1-2 image is greater than or equal to a threshold similarity may be referred to as a “second condition” or a “re-shooting condition.”
[0195] In operation 1305, in one embodiment, the processor (240) may determine whether a condition (first condition) for storing a second image to be acquired through the camera (220) in a raw file format is satisfied based on the similarity between the first image and the first image (and / or the first image) being greater than or equal to a threshold similarity (e.g., based on the second condition being satisfied). The operation of determining whether a condition for storing a second image to be acquired through the camera (220) in a raw file format is satisfied based on the first image (and / or the first image) is at least partially identical or similar to operation 1101 of FIG. 11, and therefore, a detailed description thereof will be omitted.
[0196] In operation 1305, in one embodiment, the processor (240) may display guide information for storing the second image in the raw file format through the display (210) upon acquiring the second image based on the 1-2 image (and / or the 1-1 image) and confirming that a condition for storing the second image in the raw file format to be acquired through the camera (220) is satisfied.
[0197] Since operation 1305 is at least partially identical or similar to operation 1003 of FIG. 10, a detailed description thereof will be omitted.
[0198] In operation 1307, in one embodiment, the processor (240) may store the second image in the form of a RAW file in the memory (230). For example, the processor (240) may acquire the second image based on a user input for an object (1112) for acquiring an image while the RAW shooting mode is activated, and store the acquired second image in the form of a RAW file in the memory (230).
[0199] Since operation 1307 is at least partially identical or similar to operation 1005 of FIG. 10, a detailed description thereof will be omitted.
[0200] FIG. 14 is a drawing for explaining a method of correcting an image stored in a raw file format according to one embodiment.
[0201] Referring to FIG. 14, in one embodiment, the processor (240) may correct an image stored in a raw file format (hereinafter also referred to as a “raw image”). For example, the processor (240) may correct (e.g., adjust) the values of one or more attributes among the values of a plurality of attributes of the raw image.
[0202] In one embodiment, at reference numerals 1401 and 1402 of FIG. 14, the processor (240) may display a screen (e.g., screen (1410), screen (1420)) including an area (1411) in which a raw image is displayed and an interface for correcting the raw image through the display (210).
[0203] In one embodiment, an interface for correcting a raw image (hereinafter also referred to as an “interface”) may include objects representing a plurality of properties (1412, 1413, 1414, 1421, 1422, 1423, 1424), objects for adjusting values of the plurality of properties (e.g., objects for adjusting a value of exposure (1412-1, 1412-2)), an object for automatically adjusting values of the plurality of properties (1417), and / or a histogram (1418) related to properties of the raw image.
[0204] In one embodiment, at reference numerals 1401 and 1402 of FIG. 14, the processor (240) may display a portion of the interface through the display (210). While the portion of the interface is being displayed, the processor (240) may display another portion of the interface that was not displayed, through the display (210), based on a user input to the interface (e.g., a user input scrolling the interface to correct an image).
[0205] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may adjust at least one attribute value among a plurality of attribute values of the raw image based on a user input to the interface. For example, the processor (240) may adjust an exposure value (or intensity of exposure) based on a user input that moves the position of a movable object (1412-2) (also referred to as a “slider”) on a bar-shaped object (1412-1).
[0206] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may control the display (210) so that while adjusting one of a plurality of attribute values of a raw image, objects for adjusting other attribute values are not displayed. For example, when obtaining a user input for an object (1412-2) related to an exposure value (e.g., upon touching the object (1412-2)), the processor (240) may control the display (210) so that only the objects (1412, 1412-1, 1412-2) are displayed and objects related to other attributes (e.g., attributes indicated by objects (1413, 1414, 1421, 1422, 1423, 1424)) disappear from the display (210).
[0207] In one embodiment, reference numeral 1403 of FIG. 14 may represent an interface (1430) for correcting a raw image. For example, the interface (1430) for correcting a raw image may include objects (1412, 1413, 1414, 1421, 1422, 1423, 1424) representing a plurality of properties, objects for adjusting values of the plurality of properties (e.g., objects (1412-1, 1412-2) for adjusting a value of exposure), and an object (1417) for automatically adjusting values of the plurality of properties.
[0208] In one embodiment, as illustrated in reference numeral 1403, the plurality of attributes of the raw image may include exposure, brightness, contrast, highlight, shadow, color temperature, and tint. However, the plurality of attributes of the image are not limited to the examples described above. For example, the plurality of attributes of the raw image may further include chroma, sharpness, and / or clarity.
[0209] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may store the corrected raw image (1411) in the memory (230) based on user input for the object (1419-2) after correcting the raw image (1411).
[0210] In one embodiment, the processor (240) may remove an effect (or filter) applied to the corrected raw image (1411) based on user input for the object (1419-1) after correcting the raw image (1411). For example, the processor (240) may restore the corrected raw image based on user input for the object (1419-1) after correcting the raw image (1411).
[0211] FIGS. 15A and 15B are drawings for explaining a method of correcting an image stored in a raw file format according to one embodiment.
