Description

Method for processing item orders and electronic devices thereof

[0001] The present disclosure relates to a method for processing an order for an item and an electronic device thereof, and more particularly, to a method for processing a customer's order in a minimum number of fulfillment centers so that the arrival time of the item at the camp is unified, and to an electronic device thereof.

[0002] Recent advancements in internet and communications technology have made ordering and receiving items via e-commerce increasingly common, leading to a surge in e-commerce purchases. With increasing accessibility to e-commerce across all generations, customers are increasingly ordering multiple items at once, unlike in the past.

[0003] Previously, the criteria for determining which fulfillment center would handle multiple customer orders were inadequate. This often resulted in customer orders being distributed across multiple fulfillment centers. This resulted in items arriving at the camp at different times, depending on the fulfillment center. Consequently, camps were forced to either ship items to customers in the order they arrived or store items until all items arrived.

[0004] This resulted in a surge in the volume of parcels shipped, proportional to the volume of customer purchases. This unnecessarily increased the cost of storing items at camps. Furthermore, the increased workload led to increased workload for delivery workers, leading to a shortage of delivery workers. Consequently, the need for an order processing method that could process customer orders at a minimal number of fulfillment centers emerged.

[0005] In this regard, reference may be made to prior literature such as KR1020010099577A or KR1020190055096A.

[0006] The present disclosure aims to provide an electronic device and method for efficiently processing orders for multiple items in order to solve the above-described problems.

[0007] More specifically, the present disclosure aims to determine the fulfillment center from which each item will be shipped based on the delivery processing deadline information of each item to resolve the problem that arises when a customer requests an order for multiple items and the camp arrival times of each item are different.

[0038] For example, the network may include at least one of a Personal Area Network (PAN), a Local Area Network (LAN), a Campus Area Network (CAN), a Metropolitan Area Network (MAN), a Wide Area Network (WAN), a Broad Band Network (BBN), and the Internet. In addition, the network may include at least one of network topologies including a bus network, a star network, a ring network, a mesh network, a star-bus network, a tree, or a hierarchical network. In an embodiment of the present disclosure, the communication method between the customer terminal (110) and the first electronic device (120), and the first electronic device (120) and the second electronic device (130) is not limited to the types of the networks described above, and may include not only a communication method utilizing a communication network that the network may include, but also short-range wireless communication between devices.

[0039] In an embodiment of the present disclosure, the first electronic device (120) and the second electronic device (130) may include a transceiver, a memory, and a processor. In addition, the first electronic device (120) and the second electronic device (130) refer to units that process at least one function or operation, which may be implemented by hardware, software, or a combination of hardware and software. In addition, for the convenience of explanation in FIG. 1, the first electronic device (120) and the second electronic device (130) are illustrated as separate components, but this is only one embodiment and does not limit the configuration of the system (100) for item order processing according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. For example, the first electronic device (120) and the second electronic device (130) may be implemented as a single electronic device. In an embodiment, the first electronic device (120) and the second electronic device (130) may include multiple computer systems or computer software implemented as network servers. For example, the first electronic device (120) and the second electronic device (130) may refer to a computer system and computer software that are connected to a sub-device that can communicate with another network server through a computer network such as an intranet or the Internet, receive a request to perform a task, perform the task accordingly, and provide the performance result.

[0040] In addition, the first electronic device (120) and the second electronic device (130) can be understood as a broad concept including a series of application programs that can operate on a network server and various databases built within it. For example, the first electronic device (120) and the second electronic device (130) can be implemented using a network server program that is provided in various ways depending on the operating system such as DOS, Windows, Linux, Unix, or MacOS.

[0041] In an embodiment of the present disclosure, the first electronic device (120) and the second electronic device (130) may process information for performing a delivery service provided from a service for selling items provided from the first electronic device (120), and provide the processed information to each other as components. For example, the first electronic device (120) may provide a service for selling items to a customer terminal (110), and the customer may order an item through the service for selling items provided by the first electronic device (120) through the customer terminal (110). When the customer orders an item through the service provided by the first electronic device (120), the first electronic device (120) may receive order information from the customer terminal (110), determine a fulfillment center from which each item ordered by the customer will be shipped, and provide information on the shipment fulfillment center to the second electronic device (130). For example, order information received from a customer terminal (110) may include information on at least two items, including a first item and a second item, and the first electronic device (120) may determine a first shipment fulfillment center from which the first item will be shipped and a second shipment fulfillment center from which the second item will be shipped.

[0042] Meanwhile, the second electronic device (130) can process information for item delivery from the fulfillment center and provide the information to the first electronic device (120). For example, the second electronic device (130) can process information related to logistics processing within a fulfillment center corresponding to the second electronic device (130) and provide the processed information to the first electronic device (120). The first electronic device (120) can determine the fulfillment center from which the item will be shipped based on the information related to logistics processing obtained from the second electronic device (130) and manage the inventory status of the item within the fulfillment center. An item shipped from a fulfillment center can be delivered to any one of a plurality of camps corresponding to the fulfillment center through logistics processing. In FIG. 1, the second electronic device (130) is illustrated as a single configuration, but this is merely for convenience of explanation and does not limit the configuration included in the system (100) for item order processing according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. In an embodiment, a system (100) for processing an item order may include a plurality of second electronic devices (130), each of which may correspond to a respective one of a plurality of fulfillment centers.

[0043] The system (100) for processing item orders according to an embodiment of the present disclosure can process orders so that items included in a customer's order are shipped from a minimum number of fulfillment centers, thereby reducing the workload of delivery personnel, reducing delivery costs, and promoting efficient delivery operations. Furthermore, the present disclosure uses delivery processing availability deadline information to determine the fulfillment center from which each item will be shipped, thereby processing orders so that the customer can receive the items on the expected schedule, thereby improving the customer experience. A detailed description of the item order processing method according to an embodiment of the present disclosure will be described later with reference to FIGS. 2 to 5b.

[0044]

[0045] FIG. 2 is a diagram illustrating an item order processing method according to one embodiment of the present disclosure. Specifically, FIG. 2 illustrates an item order processing method corresponding to a user's order request when a user requests a single order for the purchase of multiple items.

[0046] Referring to FIG. 2 , in step S210, the first electronic device (120) may obtain order information from the customer terminal (110). The customer's order information may be obtained through a service for selling items provided by the first electronic device (120). In an embodiment, the order information may include information on at least two items and customer information. For example, the order information received by the first electronic device (120) from the customer terminal (110) may include information on a first item, information on a second item, and customer information corresponding to the customer terminal (110). Here, the information on the item may include identification information of the item, and the customer information may include at least one of the customer's address information, the customer's requested delivery date information for the item, and the customer's order quantity information for the item.

[0047] In step S220, the first electronic device (120) can check a first list including a first fulfillment center set and first delivery processing deadline information. Here, the fulfillment center set may refer to a group of fulfillment centers that have inventory of items and can ship the corresponding items. In an embodiment, the first fulfillment center set may be selected based on inventory information for the first item, and the information for the first item may be acquired from the second electronic device (120) or stored in the memory of the first electronic device (120). The delivery processing deadline information may refer to information on the scheduled delivery date and scheduled delivery method for each item when using a specific fulfillment center. In an embodiment, the first delivery processing deadline information may be set based on the customer's requested delivery date information for the first item and inventory information for the first item. The scheduled delivery date for an item may include the following morning and the following midnight, and the scheduled delivery method for an item may include dawn delivery, regular delivery, and trunk delivery.

[0048] At step S230, the first electronic device (120) may check a second list including a second fulfillment center set and information on a second delivery processing deadline. In an embodiment, the second fulfillment center set may be selected based on inventory information for the second item, and the information on the second item may be obtained from the second electronic device (130) or stored in the memory of the first electronic device (120). In an embodiment, the second delivery processing deadline information may be set based on the customer's requested delivery date information for the second item and inventory information for the second item.

[0049] In another embodiment, a set of fulfillment centers may be selected based on camp information and inventory information for items. Here, a camp may be mapped to at least one fulfillment center, and the camp information may include information about the fulfillment center mapped to the camp. In an embodiment, the camp information may be identified based on the customer's address information. For example, the first electronic device (120) may identify the first camp closest to the customer's address, and select a fulfillment center that holds inventory of the first item ordered by the customer among at least one fulfillment center corresponding to the first camp to identify the first fulfillment center set. Since the first electronic device (120) selects a set of fulfillment centers based on proximity to the customer's address, it may facilitate efficient delivery operations by processing delivery more quickly.

[0050] In another embodiment, a set of fulfillment centers may be selected based on a list of preferred fulfillment centers and inventory information for the items. The rise of e-commerce delivery services has enabled real-time tracking of products ordered by customers, and this functionality may allow some customers to prefer delivery through specific fulfillment centers. Accordingly, a customer can set a list of their preferred fulfillment centers within the service provided by the first electronic device (120), and the first electronic device (120) can select fulfillment centers that hold inventory of the items ordered by the customer from the list of preferred fulfillment centers to determine the set of fulfillment centers. In other words, the first electronic device (120) can determine a set of fulfillment centers based on inventory information for the items corresponding to the customer's order and the list of preferred fulfillment centers. Next, the first electronic device (120) can determine the fulfillment center from which the item ordered by the customer will be shipped using a fulfillment center set that reflects the customer's preference, thereby improving the customer experience with the service by shipping the customer's ordered item from the fulfillment center preferred by the customer.

[0051] At step S240, the first electronic device (120) can determine the first shipment fulfillment center from which the first item will be shipped, and the second shipment fulfillment center from which the second item will be shipped. Specifically, the first electronic device (120) can determine the first shipment fulfillment center from the first list based on the first delivery processing deadline information and the second delivery processing deadline information, and can determine the second shipment fulfillment center from the second list. Subsequently, the first electronic device (120) can transmit information about the first shipment fulfillment center and the second shipment fulfillment center to the second electronic device (130), and the second electronic device (130) can manage the first item and the second item to be shipped to the camp from the first shipment fulfillment center and the second shipment fulfillment center, respectively, based on the received information.

[0052] In an embodiment, a fulfillment center may be managed to place related items identified based on customer order statistics. For example, if there are first to fourth items ordered by multiple customers together, the first electronic device (120) may transmit the customer order statistics to the second electronic device (130) to manage the second electronic device (130) to place the first to fourth items together in a fulfillment center corresponding to the second electronic device (130). These related items may have corresponding related characteristics, and if a customer orders items corresponding to these related characteristics, the first electronic device (120) may determine the first and second fulfillment centers to which the items are shipped so that they are shipped from the fulfillment centers where the related items are placed. For example, if a customer orders a first item and a second item, which are related items, and items corresponding to the first related characteristic identified based on information about the first item and the second item are managed to be placed in the first fulfillment center, the first electronic device (120) can determine the first fulfillment center as the first shipment fulfillment center and the second shipment fulfillment center, thereby improving the efficiency of inventory management of the fulfillment center and promoting efficient delivery operation.

[0053] In an embodiment, fulfillment centers may be divided into first and second groups based on established criteria. These criteria may be established by the administrator of the service provided by the first electronic device (120). If delivery efficiency is significantly reduced when items ordered by a customer are shipped together from various fulfillment centers, each fulfillment center may be divided into separate groups. For example, if a customer orders a first item and a second item, and the first item is determined to be shipped from the first fulfillment center and the second item is determined to be shipped from the second fulfillment center, and if the distance between the first fulfillment center and the camp and the distance between the second fulfillment center and the camp are too different, or if the delivery efficiency is extremely low due to the difference in the delivery cost from the first fulfillment center to the camp and the delivery cost from the second fulfillment center to the camp are too different, the administrator can set the first fulfillment center as the first group and the second fulfillment center as the second group, or set the first fulfillment center as the second group and the second fulfillment center as the first group, and manage each fulfillment center as a separate group. Accordingly, if at least one of the first shipment fulfillment center and the second shipment fulfillment center determined by the operations of the aforementioned FIG. 2 is simultaneously included in each of the first group and the second group, the first electronic device (120) can re-determine the fulfillment center from which the item ordered by the customer will be shipped based on a separately set fulfillment center priority, thereby enabling more efficient delivery operation.

[0054]

[0055] FIG. 3 is a diagram illustrating an item order processing method according to another embodiment of the present disclosure. Since the first electronic device (120) can proceed to step S310 of FIG. 3 after performing step S230 of FIG. 2, descriptions of overlapping content with FIG. 2 will be omitted.

[0056] Referring to FIG. 3, in step S310, the first electronic device (120) can check at least one first sub-list of the first list and at least one second sub-list of the second list. Here, each sub-list may mean a list classified from each of the first list and the second list by the same scheduled delivery date and the same scheduled delivery method. For example, the first sub-list may include a 1-1 sub-list in the first list whose scheduled delivery date is the next morning and whose scheduled delivery method is dawn delivery, and a 1-2 sub-list whose scheduled delivery date is the next midnight and whose scheduled delivery method is regular delivery, and similarly, the second sub-list may include a 2-1 sub-list in the second list whose scheduled delivery date is the next morning and whose scheduled delivery method is dawn delivery, and a 2-2 sub-list whose scheduled delivery date is the next midnight and whose scheduled delivery method is regular delivery.

[0057] In step S320, the first electronic device (120) can determine the first shipment fulfillment center and the second shipment fulfillment center by comparing the first sub-list and the second sub-list. In an embodiment, the comparison of the first sub-list and the second sub-list can be performed between sub-lists that include the same scheduled delivery date and the same scheduled delivery method. For example, in the above example, the 1-1 sub-list and the 2-1 sub-list both have scheduled delivery dates of the next morning and scheduled delivery methods of dawn delivery, and the 1-2 sub-list and the 2-2 sub-list both have scheduled delivery dates of the next midnight and scheduled delivery methods of dawn delivery. Therefore, the first electronic device (120) can determine the first shipment fulfillment center and the second shipment fulfillment center by comparing the 1-1 sub-list with the 2-1 sub-list and by comparing the 1-2 sub-list with the 2-2 sub-list.

[0058] In an embodiment, the comparison between sublists may be performed based on the order of the scheduled delivery dates of each sublist. For example, when comparing the 1-1 sublist with the 2-1 sublist and comparing the 1-2 sublist with the 2-2 sublist, if the scheduled delivery dates of the 1-1 sublist and the 2-1 sublist are the next morning and the scheduled delivery dates of the 1-2 sublist and the 2-2 sublist are the next midnight, the first electronic device (120) may compare the 1-1 sublist with the 2-1 sublist in priority and compare the 1-2 sublist with the 2-2 sublist in priority to determine the fulfillment center for the first item and the second item. The operation of comparing each sublist in order of the earliest scheduled delivery date described above is merely an example and is not limited thereto. For example, the first electronic device (120) can compare each sub-list based on the set scheduled delivery date order, and at this time, the scheduled delivery date order can be managed to be dynamically set based on various factors such as the operating status of the fulfillment center included in each sub-list, the work intensity of the delivery person, changes in the business strategy of the service, etc.

[0059] In another embodiment, the comparison between sublists may be performed based on the order of the scheduled delivery methods of each sublist. For example, if the 1-1 sublist and the 2-1 sublist, the 1-2 sublist and the 2-2 sublist, and the 1-3 sublist and the 2-3 sublist each include the same scheduled delivery date and scheduled delivery method, and the scheduled delivery methods of the 1-1 sublist and the 2-1 sublist are dawn delivery, the scheduled delivery methods of the 1-2 sublist and the 2-2 sublist are regular delivery, and the scheduled delivery methods of the 1-3 sublist and the 2-3 sublist are trunk delivery, the first electronic device (120) may compare the 1-1 sublist and the 2-1 sublist as the first priority, compare the 1-2 sublist and the 2-2 sublist as the second priority, and compare the 1-3 sublist and the 2-3 sublist as the third priority. The aforementioned order of scheduled delivery dates is merely an example and is not limiting. The first electronic device (120) may compare each sub-list based on other scheduled delivery date orders. In this case, the order of scheduled delivery dates may be dynamically managed based on various factors, such as the operational status of the fulfillment center included in each sub-list, the workload of delivery personnel, changes in the service's business strategy, etc.

[0060] In an embodiment, the first electronic device (120) can compare the fulfillment centers included in the first sub-list and the fulfillment centers included in the second sub-list to determine at least one set of candidate shipping fulfillment centers that includes at least one common fulfillment center. In other words, the first electronic device (120) can compare the first sub-list and the second sub-list to identify a common fulfillment center that can ship the first item and the second item with the same scheduled delivery date and the same scheduled delivery method, and the first electronic device (120) can determine a set of candidate shipping fulfillment centers that includes at least one common fulfillment center. Next, the first electronic device (120) may select a first candidate fulfillment center set based on the number of fulfillment centers included in the candidate fulfillment center set, and determine a first fulfillment center from which the first item will be shipped and a second fulfillment center from which the second item will be shipped based on the first candidate fulfillment center set. For example, if the first sub-list includes the first fulfillment center, the second fulfillment center, the third fulfillment center, and the fourth fulfillment center, and the second sub-list includes the second fulfillment center, the third fulfillment center, and the fifth fulfillment center, and the customer's order quantity of the first item and the order quantity of the second item are each three, the common fulfillment centers are the second fulfillment center and the third fulfillment center, so the first electronic device (120) may determine (the first fulfillment center, the second fulfillment center, the third fulfillment center, and the fifth fulfillment center) as one set of candidate shipping fulfillment centers, and (the second fulfillment center, the third fulfillment center, the fourth fulfillment center, and the fifth fulfillment center) as another set of candidate shipping fulfillment centers, and may determine the first shipping fulfillment center based on any one of the first candidate shipping fulfillment centers. You can decide on a center and a second fulfillment center. In the above-described example, if the first electronic device (120) identifies (the first fulfillment center, the second fulfillment center, the third fulfillment center, and the fifth fulfillment center) as the first candidate shipping fulfillment center set, the first electronic device (120) may determine (the first fulfillment center, the second fulfillment center, and the third fulfillment center) as the first shipping fulfillment center from which the first item with an order quantity of three will be shipped, and may determine (the second fulfillment center, the third fulfillment center, and the fifth fulfillment center) as the second shipping fulfillment center from which the second item with an order quantity of three will be shipped. Since the first electronic device (120) determines the candidate shipping fulfillment center set so as to include as many common fulfillment centers as possible, the order can be processed so that the item ordered by the customer is shipped from the minimum number of fulfillment centers, thereby reducing shipping costs and promoting efficient shipping operation.

[0061] In an embodiment, if there are multiple sets of candidate shipping fulfillment centers including the same number of fulfillment centers, the first electronic device (120) may determine the set of candidate shipping fulfillment centers that includes the largest inventory of items ordered by the customer among the sets of candidate shipping fulfillment centers as the first set of candidate shipping fulfillment centers. For example, if the number of fulfillment centers included in two sets of candidate shipping fulfillment centers is the same (5), but the inventory of the first item and the second item included in one set of candidate shipping fulfillment centers is 10, and the inventory of the first item and the second item included in the other set of candidate shipping fulfillment centers is 5, the first electronic device (120) can identify the set of candidate shipping fulfillment centers with the inventory of 10 as the first candidate shipping fulfillment center set, and thus determine the first shipping fulfillment center and the second shipping fulfillment center set based on the set of candidate shipping fulfillment centers with the inventory of 10. The first electronic device (120) determines the shipping fulfillment center by considering the inventory of the customer's ordered items held by each fulfillment center included in the set of candidate fulfillment centers, thereby ensuring that the inventory of items is evenly distributed among the fulfillment centers, and reducing costs due to shortages or excesses of inventory.

[0062] The comparison between the first sub-list and the second sub-list is performed in a manner that corresponds to the main purpose of the business strategy of the service provided by the first electronic device (120), for example, by comparing in order of the expected delivery date, so that a second candidate shipping center set may exist that is not determined as the first candidate shipping center set due to a later expected delivery date, even though it includes fewer fulfillment centers than the first candidate shipping fulfillment center set. In an embodiment, the first electronic device (120) may request the customer to change the requested delivery date of an item so that the customer's ordered items can be shipped using fewer fulfillment centers to promote efficient shipping operations. In an embodiment, when the customer changes the requested delivery date of an item in response to the request of the first electronic device (120), the first electronic device (120) may determine the shipping fulfillment center from which the customer's item will be shipped based on the second candidate shipping fulfillment center set, and may provide promotional information to the customer terminal. For example, the first electronic device (120) may provide a customer with a coupon for a certain amount of discount or a discount corresponding to a certain discount rate on the customer's order amount. In another embodiment, if the customer does not change the requested delivery date of the item despite a request from the first electronic device (120), the first electronic device (120) may determine a fulfillment center for shipment based on a previously determined set of first candidate fulfillment centers for shipment, and may transmit information about the determined fulfillment center to the second electronic device (130).

[0063]

[0064] FIG. 4 is a flowchart illustrating an item order processing method according to another embodiment of the present disclosure. Since the first electronic device (120) can proceed with the operations of FIG. 2 and FIG. 3 after performing the operations of FIG. 4, descriptions of overlapping content with FIGS. 2 and 3 will be omitted.

[0065] Referring to FIG. 4, in step S410, the first electronic device (120) may obtain order information from the customer terminal (110). The order information may include information on at least two items, the information on the items may include identification information of the items, and the customer information may include at least one of the customer's address information, the customer's requested delivery date information for the items, and the customer's order quantity information for the items.

[0066] At step S420, the first electronic device (120) can determine the first parcel count when processing a customer order based on the set fulfillment priority. Specifically, the first electronic device (120) can determine the fulfillment center from which the item ordered by the customer will be shipped based on the set fulfillment center priority, and calculate the first parcel count when the item is delivered using the determined fulfillment center. Here, the fulfillment center priority can be dynamically set by the service manager based on various factors such as the business purpose of the service provided by the first electronic device (120), the location of the fulfillment center, the operational status of the fulfillment center, and the workload of the delivery person.

[0067] In step S430, the first electronic device (120) can check the number of second parcels when processing a customer order based on the set fulfillment priority and the list of fulfillment centers that allow multiple packaging. Specifically, the first electronic device (120) can determine a fulfillment center from which the item ordered by the customer will be shipped based on the set center priority among the fulfillment centers included in the list of fulfillment centers that allow multiple packaging, and can calculate the number of second parcels when the item is delivered using the determined fulfillment center. Here, the fulfillment center priority may be the same as the fulfillment center priority of step S420, and information on the list of fulfillment centers that allow multiple packaging may be acquired from the second electronic device (130) or stored in the memory of the first electronic device (120).

[0068] At step S440, the first electronic device (120) can compare the first parcel number with the second parcel number to determine whether the second parcel number decreases compared to the first parcel number. If the second parcel number does not decrease compared to the first parcel number, the first electronic device (120) can proceed to step S220 of FIG. 2 and then perform the operations described above in FIGS. 2 and 3. If the second parcel number decreases compared to the first parcel number, the first electronic device (120) can proceed to step S450.

[0069] At step S450, the first electronic device (120) can determine a fulfillment center from which to ship the items ordered by the customer, based on the established fulfillment center priorities and a list of fulfillment centers that allow multi-packaging. Subsequently, the first electronic device (120) can transmit information about the determined fulfillment center to the second electronic device (130), and the second electronic device (130) can manage the shipment of the items ordered by the customer from the determined fulfillment center to the camp based on the received information.

[0070]

[0071] FIGS. 5A and 5B are diagrams illustrating code for processing an item order according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. Specifically, FIGS. 5A and 5B illustrate code for processing an item order in response to a user's order request, when a user requests a single order for the purchase of four items. In FIGS. 5A and 5B, the SKU may be identification information of each item, and identification number 510 may be a first list corresponding to a first item, identification number 520 may be a second list corresponding to a second item, identification number 530 may be a third list corresponding to a third item, identification number 540 may be a fourth list corresponding to a fourth item, identification numbers 511 to 513 may be a 1-1 sub-list to a 1-3 sub-list, identification numbers 521 to 523 may be a 2-1 sub-list to a 2-3 sub-list, identification numbers 531 and 532 may be a 3-1 sub-list and a 3-2 sub-list, and identification numbers 541 and 542 may be a 4-1 sub-list and a 4-2 sub-list.

[0072] Referring to FIGS. 5A and 5B , the first electronic device (120) can obtain order information including information on the first item (11111) to the fourth item (44444) and customer information. The first electronic device (120) can check the first list (510) to the fourth list (540) corresponding to each item. For example, the first electronic device (120) can check the first list including the first delivery processing deadline information of each fulfillment center included in the first fulfillment center set selected based on the inventory information for the first item and the first fulfillment center set identified based on the customer information. The delivery processing deadline information included in each list can correspond to one inventory of the corresponding fulfillment center. For example, the second list (520) can include delivery processing deadline information for four inventory items of the second item (22222). The delivery processing deadline information may include information on the scheduled delivery date and the scheduled delivery method. The scheduled delivery date may include the following morning and the following midnight, and the scheduled delivery methods may include dawn delivery, regular delivery, and trunk delivery. In each of the lists (510 to 540) of FIGS. 5A and 5B , the first column may refer to a fulfillment center, the second column may refer to the scheduled delivery date, and the third column may refer to the scheduled delivery method. For example, referring to 541, if the fourth item (44444) is shipped from the SEL1 fulfillment center, this may mean that the fourth item (44444) can be processed for delivery the following morning via dawn delivery.

[0073] In an embodiment, the first electronic device (120) can identify at least one sub-list by classifying each list (510 to 540) based on the scheduled delivery date and scheduled delivery method. For example, the first electronic device (120) can classify the first list (510) into the 1-1 sub-list (511) to the 1-3 sub-list (513) based on the scheduled delivery date and scheduled delivery method, and the delivery processing possible deadline information included in each sub-list can include the same scheduled delivery date and the same scheduled delivery method. Likewise, the first electronic device (120) can classify the second list (520) into the 2-1 sub-list (521) to the 2-3 sub-list (523), the 3rd list (530) into the 3-1 sub-list (531) and the 3-2 sub-list (532), and the 4th list (540) into the 4-1 sub-list (541) and the 4-2 sub-list (542).

[0074] In an embodiment, the first electronic device (120) may compare sub-lists in descending order of scheduled delivery dates among sub-lists including the same scheduled delivery date and the same scheduled delivery method to identify at least one common fulfillment center. Referring to FIG. 5B, the first electronic device (120) may compare the 1-1 sub-list (511), the 2-1 sub-list (521), and the 4-1 sub-list (541) as a first priority to identify a common fulfillment center, compare the 1-2 sub-list (512), the 2-2 sub-list (522), the 3-1 sub-list (531), and the 4-2 sub-list (542) as a second priority to identify a common fulfillment center, and compare the 1-3 sub-list (513), the 2-3 sub-list (523), and the 3-2 sub-list (532) as a third priority to identify a common fulfillment center. For example, the first electronic device (120) can identify SEL1 as a common fulfillment center by comparing the 1-1 sub-list (511) and the 4-1 sub-list (541), and can identify GOY1 as a common fulfillment center by comparing the 1-1 sub-list (511) and the 2-1 sub-list (521).

[0075] In an embodiment, the first electronic device (120) may determine at least one set of candidate shipment fulfillment centers including at least one common fulfillment center. For example, if the first electronic device (120) identifies SEL1 as a common fulfillment center through a comparison of the 1-1 sub-list (511) and the 4-1 sub-list (541), the first electronic device (120) may identify (SEL1, YON5, MAJ1, SEL1), (SEL1, YON5, ANS4, SEL1), (SEL1, GOY1, MAJ1, SEL1), and (SEL1, GOY1, ANS4, SEL1) as a set of candidate shipment fulfillment centers. Here, since there is no common fulfillment center as a result of comparing the 2nd-1 sub-list (521) of the 2nd item (22222) with each of the 1st-1 sub-list (511) and the 4th-1 sub-list (541), the candidate shipping fulfillment center of the 2nd item (22222) may be determined as either one of YON5 and GOY1, which are fulfillment centers included in the 2nd-1 sub-list (521) that include the earliest scheduled delivery date among the sub-lists included in the 2nd list. Similarly, the candidate shipping fulfillment center of the 3rd item (33333) may be determined as either one of MAJ1 and ANS4, which are fulfillment centers included in the 3rd-1 sub-list (531) that include the earliest scheduled delivery date among the sub-lists included in the 3rd list.

[0076] In an embodiment, the first electronic device (120) may determine the shipping fulfillment center from which each item is to be shipped based on a set of candidate shipping fulfillment centers, and in this case, when the number of fulfillment centers included in the set of candidate shipping fulfillment centers is the same, the shipping fulfillment center may be determined based on the item inventory of the corresponding fulfillment center. For example, if the candidate fulfillment center set of the first item (11111) to the fourth item (44444) is determined as (SEL1, YON5, MAJ1, SEL1) and (SEL1, YON5, ANS4, SEL1), and the inventory of the first item (11111) to the fourth item (44444) is held more in the fulfillment center included in the former, the first electronic device (120) may determine (SEL1, YON5, MAJ1, SEL1) as the first candidate fulfillment center set, and accordingly, determine SEL1 as the first and fourth fulfillment centers from which the first item (11111) and the fourth item (44444) will be shipped, determine YON5 as the second fulfillment center from which the second item (22222) will be shipped, and determine MAJ1 as the second fulfillment center from which the second item (22222) will be shipped. The third item (33333) can be determined as the third shipment fulfillment center from which it will be shipped.
