AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing carding machines face challenges in achieving improved carding results with high performance, as current gamiture wires often lead to fiber clogging and yarn damage due to increased tooth density, resulting in suboptimal yarn quality and fleece parallelism.

Method used

The proposed gamiture wire design features a foot section for stability and helical winding, with a blade section that reduces fiber escape routes and includes multiple tooth bodies with first and second tooth tips, arranged at specific pitches and angles to enhance fiber handling without causing yarn damage, ensuring better interaction with other carding elements.

Benefits of technology

This design results in better yarn quality, more uniform fleece with improved parallelism, reduced loops, and increased output by preventing yarn damage while enhancing the effectiveness of other carding elements, along with improved wear resistance and self-sharpening tooth tips.

Abstract

The invention relates to a clothing wire, comprising a base portion having a base height and a blade portion having a blade height. The blade height is smaller than the base height. The blade portion comprises a plurality of consecutive, geometrically identical tooth bodies. The tooth body extends between two first recesses of the blade portion which extend in the height direction at most towards the base portion. Two directly consecutive tooth bodies are spaced apart in a pitch. A first tooth tip and at least a second tooth tip are located on the tooth body, wherein the first tooth tip adjoins the first recess. A first tooth tip surface adjoins the first tooth tip and a second tooth tip surface adjoins the at least one second tooth tip. The first tooth tip surface has a first tip surface length and the second tooth tip surface has a second tip surface length, in each case having a value of at least the smaller value of the values 0.15 mm or 6% of the pitch. A first tooth face adjoins the first tooth tip at a positive first working angle. A second tooth face adjoins the at least one second tooth tip at a positive second working angle.
