Description

Sound output device

[0001] The present technology relates to a technical field of an audio output device that outputs audio.

[0002] There are audio output devices that are worn on the head, such as on the ears, as headphones or earphones, and output sound from a speaker unit. In recent years, audio output devices have increasingly been used outdoors in addition to indoors.

[0003] Such acoustic output devices include so-called dynamic acoustic output devices that are provided with a speaker unit having a magnet, a coil, and a diaphragm, and output sound by vibrating the diaphragm through a magnetic circuit (see, for example, Patent Documents 1, 2, and 3).

[0004] In the acoustic output device, the outer periphery of the diaphragm is attached by a diaphragm ring to the outer periphery of a member called a frame, which has a magnet attached and also functions as a yoke, ensuring a stable attachment state of the diaphragm to the frame. By ensuring a stable attachment state of the diaphragm to the frame, the driving force of the magnetic circuit causes the diaphragm to vibrate in a stable state, ensuring good acoustic output.

[0005] Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2000-188797 Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2000-165991 Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 58-71798

[0006] Incidentally, some of the above-mentioned sound output devices are worn on the head, particularly on the ears, and there is an increasing trend for them to be used outdoors, so there is a growing demand for miniaturization that takes into account factors such as ease of wearing on the ears and portability.

[0007] On the other hand, since the sound output device is worn on the head, the outer shape of the part that comes into contact with the head is formed to be rounded, and it is desirable to place a speaker unit with the largest diameter possible within a limited space.

[0008] However, in a configuration in which a diaphragm is attached to a frame using a diaphragm ring, the presence of the diaphragm ring tends to make the acoustic output device larger.

[0009] Therefore, an object of the sound output device of the present technology is to achieve miniaturization while ensuring a stable attachment state of the diaphragm to the frame.

[0010] The sound output device according to the present technology comprises a speaker unit having a ring-shaped magnet, a frame to which the magnet is attached, a coil to which a drive current is supplied, and a diaphragm to which the coil is attached, wherein the diaphragm has a vibrating part that vibrates integrally with the coil when sound is output, and a bending part that is continuous with the outer periphery of the vibrating part and bent toward the magnet relative to the vibrating part, and the bending part is provided with a joint that is joined to the outer periphery of the frame.

[0011] As a result, the diaphragm is attached to the frame by joining the joints provided at the bent portion bent toward the magnet side with respect to the vibrating portion to the outer peripheral surface of the frame.

[0013] Hereinafter, embodiments for implementing an audio output device according to the present technology will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings. In the embodiments shown below, the audio output device according to the present technology is applied to headphones. However, the scope of application of the present technology is not limited to headphones, and can be widely applied to various other audio output devices such as earphones.

[0014] The sound output device described below is provided with a dynamic speaker unit that functions as an audio output section, and the speaker unit has a ring-shaped coil and a magnet. When indicating directions in the following description, the axial direction of the coil is taken as the front-to-back direction, and the directions of front, back, up, down, left, and right are indicated.

[0015] However, the directions of front, back, up, down, left and right shown below are for the convenience of explanation, and the implementation of the present technology is not limited to these directions.

[0016] <Configuration of Sound Output Device> First, the configuration of the sound output device 1 will be described (see FIGS. 1 to 11).

[0017] The sound output devices 1 are used in pairs, for example, one for the left ear and the other for the right ear, although a single sound output device 1 may be used to listen to sound.

[0018] The sound output device 1 has a housing 2 provided as an outer casing and required components arranged inside the housing 2 (see FIGS. 1 and 2).

[0019] The housing 2 is configured by joining a first case 3 and a second case 4 in the front-rear direction.

[0020] The first case 3 is integrally formed with a concave case portion 5 that opens to the rear, a sound-conducting cylindrical portion 6 that protrudes diagonally to the front side from the case portion 5, a terminal protrusion 7 that protrudes upward from the rear end of the case portion 5, and a protrusion portion 8 that protrudes to the side from the case portion 5. The entire outer surface of the case portion 5 is formed into an outwardly convex curved surface. The case portion 5 is formed into a substantially circular shape when viewed from the front-to-rear direction, and the internal space is formed as a unit arrangement space 5a.

[0021] The sound-conducting cylinder 6 is formed in a substantially cylindrical shape. The internal space of the sound-conducting cylinder 6 is formed as a sound-conducting space 6a, which is in communication with the unit arrangement space 5a of the case 5. The sound-conducting cylinder 6 is provided with a microphone arrangement section 6b in the sound-conducting space 6a.

[0022] For example, three terminal arrangement holes 7a are formed in the terminal protrusion 7. A terminal board (not shown) on which three connection terminals are mounted is disposed on the rear surface side of the terminal protrusion 7, and the connection terminals are inserted into the terminal arrangement holes 7a, respectively. The connection terminals are, for example, charging terminals, communication terminals, etc.

[0023] The protruding portion 8 is formed in a shallow recessed shape that opens rearward.

[0024] The case 5 has a substantially annular peripheral surface 9 and a curved closing portion 10 that is continuous with the front end of the peripheral surface 9, and the sound-guiding cylindrical portion 6 is continuous with the closing portion 10. The closing portion 10 is formed in a substantially spherical shape that is gently convex forward.

[0025] An annular pressing surface 9a facing rearward is formed on the inner periphery of the peripheral surface portion 9 (see FIGS. 3 and 4). The front portion of the inner periphery of the peripheral surface portion 9 is formed as a first peripheral surface 9b, and the rear portion of the pressing surface 9a is formed as a second peripheral surface 9c, with the second peripheral surface 9c being positioned more radially outward than the first peripheral surface 9b. The first peripheral surface 9b and the second peripheral surface 9c are gently inclined so as to be displaced outward as they extend rearward.

[0026] A retaining groove 11 is formed on the inner surface of the case 5 in a portion spanning the circumferential surface 9 and the closing portion 10, and the retaining groove 11 is formed in a position extending from a part of the circumferential surface 9 through the closing portion 10 toward the sound conducting cylindrical portion 6. Therefore, the position on the circumferential surface 9 where the retaining groove 11 is formed is an unformed portion 9d where the pressing surface 9a, the first circumferential surface 9b, and the second circumferential surface 9c are not formed.

[0027] The second case 4 is formed integrally with a recessed main body 12 that opens on the side opposite to the first case 3 and a stem 13 that protrudes downward from the main body 12 .

[0028] The main body 12 is made up of a first cover 14 formed in a horizontally elongated shape and a second cover 15 positioned above the first cover 14. The opening of the main body 12 is provided as a circumferential joint 16 having the same shape and size as the rear end of the first case 3.

[0029] In the second case 4, a battery (not shown) is disposed inside the main body 12, and a microphone (not shown) that functions as a feedforward microphone is disposed inside the stem 13.

[0030] The housing 2 is constructed by joining the case portion 5 of the first case 3 and the circumferential joining portion 16 of the second case 4 together (see FIG. 1).

[0031] A speaker unit 17 is placed in the unit placement space 5a of the first case 3 (see FIG. 5). Sound output from the speaker unit 17 is radiated to the outside through the sound-conducting space 6a of the sound-conducting cylinder 6. The speaker unit 17 is a dynamic speaker unit, and includes a frame 18, a magnet 19, a flat yoke 20, a holding member 21, a diaphragm 22, and a coil 23 (see FIGS. 5 and 6).

[0032] The frame 18 is formed from a magnetic metal material and is integrally formed with a base plate portion 24 formed in a circular ring shape facing the front-to-rear direction, a circular connecting portion 25 protruding forward from the outer periphery of the base plate portion 24, a flange portion 26 extending outward from the front end of the connecting portion 25, and a standing wall portion 27 protruding forward from a position near the outer periphery of the flange portion 26.

[0033] The flange portion 26 has a front-facing surface formed on the outer periphery of the upright wall portion 27, which serves as a receiving surface 26a. An extraction hole 26b is formed on the outer periphery of the flange portion 26. The outer periphery 26c of the flange portion 26 is inclined so as to gradually displace outward as it extends rearward.

[0034] The outer peripheral surface of the standing wall portion 27 is formed as an inclined surface 27a that is gently inclined so as to be displaced outward as it goes rearward.

[0035] The magnet 19 and the flat yoke 20 are both formed in an annular shape and are connected in the front-to-rear direction. The flat yoke 20 is attached to the front surface of the magnet 19, and the rear surface of the magnet 19 is attached to the front surface of the base plate portion 24 of the frame 18.

[0036] The holding member 21 is made of a magnetic metal material and is formed into a substantially cylindrical shape, and is inserted through the base plate portion 24 of the frame 18, the magnet 19, and the flat yoke 20, with its front end fixed to the flat yoke 20 and its rear end fixed to the base plate portion 24. Therefore, in the speaker unit 17, the frame 18, the magnet 19, and the flat yoke 20 are joined and held in close contact with each other in the front-to-rear direction by the holding member 21.

[0037] When the frame 18, magnet 19, and flat yoke 20 are joined together, a gap 28 is formed as a predetermined space between the inner surface of the connecting portion 25 of the frame 18 and the outer surfaces of the magnet 19 and flat yoke 20.

[0038] The diaphragm 22 has a vibrating portion 29 that vibrates when sound is output, and a bent portion 30 that is bent toward the magnet 19 side relative to the vibrating portion 29 .

[0039] The vibrating portion 29 is composed of a dome portion 31 formed in a generally spherical shape that is convex forward, and an annular outer peripheral portion 32 that is continuous with the outer peripheral edge of the dome portion 31 .

[0040] The bent portion 30 has a continuous portion 33 that is continuous with the outer peripheral edge of the outer peripheral portion 32, and a joint portion 34 that is continuous with the continuous portion 33. The joint portion 34 is made up of a step portion 34a that is bent outward at a substantially right angle from the continuous portion 33, and an outermost portion 34b that is bent inward at a substantially right angle from the step portion 34a. The continuous portion 33 is gently inclined so as to displace outward as it extends rearward, and the outermost portion 34b is also gently inclined so as to displace outward as it extends rearward.

[0041] The front end of the coil 23 is fixed by adhesive or the like to the rear surface of the boundary 29 a between the dome portion 31 and the outer peripheral portion 32 of the vibrating portion 29 , and at least a portion of the coil 23 is positioned in the gap 28 .

[0042] The diaphragm 22 is attached, for example, by the step portion 34a to the receiving surface 26a of the frame 18 with adhesive 100 (see FIG. 7). At this time, the step portion 34a is pressed from the front by the pressing surface 9a of the first case 3 and is pressed against and joined to the receiving surface 26a.

[0043] Furthermore, at least a portion of the outermost peripheral portion 34b is joined to the outer peripheral surface of the frame 18. In this case, at least a portion of the outermost peripheral portion 34b may be sandwiched between the outer peripheral surface of the frame 18 and the inner peripheral surface of the peripheral portion 9 of the first case 3. Furthermore, at least a portion of the outermost peripheral portion 34b may be adhered to the outer peripheral surface of the frame 18.

[0044] As described above, in the acoustic output device 1, a pressing surface 9a is formed on the first case 3, a receiving surface 26a is formed on the frame 18, a step portion 34a is provided at the joint 34 of the diaphragm 22, and the step portion 34a is pressed by the pressing surface 9a and pressed against the receiving surface 26a.

[0045] Therefore, since the joint portion 34 is joined to the outer peripheral surface of the frame 18 while the step portion 34a is pressed against the frame 18 by the first case 3, a stable fixed state of the bent portion 30 to the frame 18 can be ensured.

[0046] Furthermore, since the step portion 34a is adhered to the receiving surface 26a, the step portion 34a is adhered to the receiving surface 26a while being pressed against the frame 18 by the first case 3, thereby ensuring a stable and strong fixation of the vibration plate 22 to the frame 18.

[0047] In addition, outer peripheral surface 26c of flange portion 26 of frame 18 and second peripheral surface 9c of peripheral surface portion 9 of first case 3 are positioned on both sides of outer peripheral portion 34b in the thickness direction so as to face each other, and instead of bonding step portion 34a, adhesive 100 may be applied to the tip of outer peripheral portion 34b (see FIG. 8 ). By applying adhesive 100 to the tip of outer peripheral portion 34b, the applied adhesive 100 flows between outer peripheral portion 34b and outer peripheral surface 26c of frame 18 and also between outer peripheral portion 34b and second peripheral surface 9c of peripheral surface 9, so that outer peripheral portion 34b is bonded to both frame 18 and first case 3 simultaneously.

[0048] In this way, by applying adhesive 100 to the area extending from the outer peripheral surface of frame 18 to the outermost peripheral portion 34b and the inner peripheral surface of peripheral portion 9, the fixing operation of joint 34 to frame 18 and the fixing operation of joint 34 to first case 3 can be performed simultaneously, thereby improving workability.

[0049] Furthermore, in the acoustic output device 1, when adhesive 100 is applied between the step portion 34a and the receiving surface 26a, adhesive 100 may be applied to the area spanning the outer peripheral surface 26c of the frame 18, the outermost peripheral portion 34b, and the second peripheral surface 9c of the peripheral surface portion 9.

[0050] Furthermore, in the sound output device 1 , the step portion 34 a may not be formed in the bent portion 30 , and any part of the bent portion 30 may be joined to the outer peripheral surface 26 c of the frame 18 .

[0051] A microphone 35 is attached to and arranged in the microphone arrangement section 6b of the first case 3 (see FIG. 2). The microphone 35 functions as a feedback microphone, and is a microphone for performing a noise canceling function together with the microphone that functions as the feedforward microphone described above.

[0052] The microphone 35 is mounted on one end of the wiring board 36 in the longitudinal direction, and a first reinforcing plate 37 is attached to one end of the wiring board 36 on the opposite side of the microphone 35. A flexible printed wiring board is used as the wiring board 36. The first reinforcing plate 37 reinforces the wiring board 36, maintaining a stable mounting state of the microphone 35 on the wiring board 36.

[0053] The wiring board 36 is held in a state where the portion thereof excluding both longitudinal ends is inserted into the holding groove 11 formed in the first case 3 (see FIGS. 9 and 10). By being inserted and held in the holding groove 11, the wiring board 36 is positioned across the dome portion 31 and outer periphery 32 of the diaphragm 22.

[0054] A second reinforcing plate 38 is attached to a part of the wiring board 36. The second reinforcing plate 38 is attached to the same surface of the wiring board 36 as the surface to which the first reinforcing plate 37 is attached in the thickness direction of the wiring board 36. In other words, the second reinforcing plate 38 is attached to the surface of the wiring board 36 facing the surface of the vibrating section 29.

[0055] The second reinforcing plate 38 is disposed in the non-forming portion 9d of the peripheral surface portion 9 in the holding groove 11. By disposing the second reinforcing plate 38 in the non-forming portion 9d, the rear surface of the second reinforcing plate 38 is positioned on approximately the same plane as the pressing surface 9a of the peripheral surface portion 9, and the rear surface of the second reinforcing plate 38 has the same function as the pressing surface 9a.

[0056] Therefore, the step portion 34a of the diaphragm 22 is pressed against the receiving surface 26a while being pressed by the pressing surface 9a and the second reinforcing plate 38.

[0057] As described above, in the acoustic output device 1, the wiring board 36, which is a flexible printed wiring board, is connected to the microphone 35, and the first case 3 has a holding groove 11 formed in a position opposite the surface of the vibration part 29, and the wiring board 36 is held in a state where it is inserted into the holding groove 11.

[0058] Therefore, since the wiring board 36 is held in a state inserted into the holding groove 11 positioned opposite the surface of the vibrating part 29, it is possible to ensure a good holding state of the wiring board 36 while ensuring the compactness of the acoustic output device 1.

[0059] In addition, a second reinforcing plate 38 is attached to the surface of the wiring board 36 facing the surface of the vibrating portion 29, and a portion of the second reinforcing plate 38 is positioned alongside the pressing surface 9a between the bending portion 30 and the first case 3.

[0060] Therefore, when the wiring board 36 is inserted into the holding groove 11, a portion of the second reinforcing plate 38 is positioned alongside the pressing surface 9a, making it possible for a portion of the second reinforcing plate 38 to function as the pressing surface 9a, thereby ensuring good sealing between the vibration plate 22 and the first case 3.

[0061] Furthermore, since the second reinforcing plate 38 is attached to the same side of the wiring board 36 in the thickness direction as the side to which the first reinforcing plate 37 is attached, the work of attaching the first reinforcing plate 37 and the second reinforcing plate 38 to the wiring board 36 is easy, and it is possible to ensure a good seal between the vibration plate 22 and the first case 3 while improving workability.

[0062] As described above, coil 23 is attached to diaphragm 22 with at least a portion of it positioned in gap 28. Lead wire 39 for supplying current to coil 23 is drawn out from coil 23, and lead wire 39 is connected to a power supply circuit (not shown).

[0063] The lead wire 39 is positioned along the inner circumferential surface of the bent portion 30 of the diaphragm 22, then bent in a curved shape and drawn out rearward. The portion of the lead wire 39 that follows the inner circumferential surface of the bent portion 30 is provided as a first portion 39a, the curved bent portion is provided as a second portion 39b, and the straight portion drawn out rearward from the diaphragm 22 is provided as a third portion 39c.

[0064] The third portion 39c of the lead wire 39 is inserted into a lead hole 26b formed in the flange portion 26 of the frame 18 and led out rearward.

[0065] In this way, in the acoustic output device 1, the pull-out wire 39 has a first portion 39a positioned circumferentially along the inner surface of the diaphragm 22 and a curved second portion 39b bent relative to the first portion 39a, and is inserted into the pull-out hole 26b of the frame 18.

[0066] Therefore, since the first part 39a is positioned along the inner surface of the speaker unit 17 and the second part 39b is bent in a curved shape and inserted into the pull-out hole 26b and pulled out, load is less likely to be applied to the pull-out wire 39 when it vibrates due to the vibrating part 29 of the coil 23, and damage to the pull-out wire 39 can be prevented.

[0067] As described above, once the predetermined parts are arranged inside the first case 3 and the second case 4, the case portion 5 of the first case 3 and the main body portion 12 of the second case 4 are joined together, and the ear pads 50 are attached to the sound-conducting tubular portion 6 to form the sound output device 1. The ear pads 50 are inserted into the ear canals to wear the sound output device 1 on the ears. With the sound output device 1 formed, sound output from the speaker unit 17 is released to the outside from the sound-conducting space 6a of the sound-conducting tubular portion 6.

[0068] <Assembly of Speaker Unit and First Case> The procedure for assembling the speaker unit 17 and the first case 3 will be described below (see FIGS. 12 to 14).

[0069] Diaphragm 22 is made of a resin film, such as polyethylene terephthalate, which is formed into a predetermined shape using a molding die (not shown) (see FIG. 12). At this time, as described above, continuous portion 33 and outermost peripheral portion 34b are gently inclined so that they are displaced outward as they move rearward.

[0070] Coil 23 is attached to diaphragm 22. At this time, coil 23 is positioned based on bent portions 30, each of which is gently inclined, and attached to diaphragm 22, ensuring high positioning accuracy of coil 23 relative to diaphragm 22, and the central axis of diaphragm 22 and the central axis of coil 23 are aligned.

[0071] Diaphragm 22, with coil 23 attached, is inserted into first case 3 from the rear (see FIG. 13 ). At this time, because first circumferential surface 9 b of first case 3 and continuous portion 33 of diaphragm 22 are both inclined so as to gradually displace outward as they move rearward, continuous portion 33 is guided by first circumferential surface 9 b, diaphragm 22 is positioned with high precision relative to first case 3, and the central axis of circumferential surface portion 9 of first case 3 and the central axis of diaphragm 22 are aligned. Furthermore, because second circumferential surface 9 c of first case 3 and outermost peripheral portion 34 b of diaphragm 22 are both inclined so as to gradually displace outward as they move rearward, outermost peripheral portion 34 b is guided by second circumferential surface 9 c, ensuring good assembly of diaphragm 22 to first case 3.

[0072] Next, the frame 18 with the magnet 19 and other components attached is inserted into the first case 3 from the rear (see FIG. 14). When the frame 18 is inserted into the first case 3 from the rear, the flange portion 26 of the frame 18 is inserted inside the bent portion 30 of the diaphragm 22.

[0073] At this time, because second peripheral surface 9c of first case 3, outermost peripheral portion 34b of diaphragm 22, and outer peripheral surface 26c of flange portion 26 are all inclined so as to gradually displace outward toward the rear, outer peripheral surface 26c is guided by second peripheral surface 9c and outermost peripheral portion 34b, and frame 18 is positioned with high precision relative to diaphragm 22, so that the central axis of diaphragm 22 and the central axis of frame 18 are aligned. Outer peripheral surface 26c of flange portion 26 of frame 18 faces or is in close contact with outermost peripheral portion 34b of diaphragm 22.

[0074] Furthermore, the vertical wall portion 27 of the frame 18 is inserted inside the continuous portion 33 of the diaphragm 22, but since the outer surface of the vertical wall portion 27 is formed as an inclined surface 27a, the vertical wall portion 27 does not interfere with the continuous portion 33 and the frame 18 can be smoothly inserted into the first case 3.

[0075] <Summary> As described above, in the sound output device 1, the diaphragm 22 has a vibration section 29 that vibrates integrally with the coil 23 when sound is output, and a bending section 30 that is continuous with the outer periphery of the vibration section 29 and bent toward the magnet 19 relative to the vibration section 29, and the bending section 30 is provided with a joint section 34 that is joined to the outer periphery of the frame 18.

[0076] Therefore, the vibration plate 22 is attached to the frame 18 by joining the joint 34 provided on the bending portion 30 that is bent toward the magnet 19 relative to the vibrating portion 29 to the outer peripheral surface of the frame 18, so that the vibration plate 22 can be attached to the frame 18 in a stable state while ensuring a stable attachment state of the vibration plate 22 to the frame 18, thereby making it possible to miniaturize the acoustic output device 1.

[0077] In particular, since the diaphragm 22 is attached to the frame 18 without using a diaphragm ring, it is possible to place the speaker unit 17 with the largest diameter in a limited space, and the sound output device 1 can be made smaller while ensuring that the nominal diameter of the speaker unit 17 is maximized.

[0078] Furthermore, by reducing the size of the sound output device 1, it is possible to improve the ease of wearing the sound output device 1 on the ear and the convenience of carrying it around.

[0079] <Present Technology> The present technology can be configured as follows.

[0080] (1) A sound output device comprising a speaker unit having a ring-shaped magnet, a frame to which the magnet is attached, a coil to which a drive current is supplied, and a diaphragm to which the coil is attached, wherein the diaphragm has a vibrating part that vibrates integrally with the coil when sound is output, and a bending part that is continuous with the outer periphery of the vibrating part and bent toward the magnet relative to the vibrating part, and a joint that is joined to the outer periphery of the frame.
