[0049] The connecting device includes a mating terminal and a terminal. The mating terminal and the terminal are connected to enable power or signal transmission. When the connecting device is applied to small and medium-sized battery packs, the terminal is installed in the battery pack housing. Due to the limitations of the terminal installation process, the actual position of the terminal installed in the battery pack housing may deviate from the ideal position. Therefore, if the mating terminal is offset in the direction of insertion into the terminal, the mating terminal is likely to squeeze the terminal, causing damage to the terminal.
[0050] In order to make the objectives, technical solutions and advantages of the present disclosure more clear, the present disclosure will be further described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings.
[0051] As shown in Figure 12 , the present disclosure discloses a vehicle that may include a frame and a battery assembly secured to the frame. The vehicle may be a fuel-powered vehicle, an electric vehicle, an electric motorcycle, a power-assisted bicycle, or the like. For schematic diagrams of the battery assembly, please refer to Figures 1 and 13 .
[0052] The battery assembly may include a terminal, which can be plugged into and matched with a mating terminal to achieve electrical connection. It can be understood that the plugging and matching of the mating terminal and the terminal can achieve power or signal transmission for the battery assembly.
[0053] In one possible implementation, the battery assembly may include a connection device connected to the circuit board. The connection device can be used to connect to a power-consuming device, and the battery assembly can power the power-consuming device. The connection device can also be used to connect to the battery assembly, and the power supply device can power the battery assembly to charge the battery assembly.
[0054] In an embodiment provided by the present disclosure, referring to FIG1 , a battery assembly includes a connection device, which includes a terminal 100 and a mating terminal 200 . The terminal 100 and the mating terminal 200 cooperate to achieve power or signal transmission. The terminal 100 can function as a female terminal, and the mating terminal 200 can function as a male terminal.
[0055] The battery assembly may further include a circuit board 300 having a through slot 310. The terminal 100 and the circuit board 300 are fixedly connected, wherein the terminal 100 is fixed to the circuit board 300 by welding. The mating terminal 200 can pass through the through slot 310 and be inserted into the terminal 100 to achieve electrical connection with the terminal 100.
[0056] When the connecting device is applied to a battery assembly, the circuit board 300 is disposed in a housing of the battery assembly. Specifically, the position of the terminal 100 is fixed by fixing the circuit board 300 in the housing.
[0057] In the embodiment provided in the present disclosure, for the convenience of description, the width direction of the terminal 100 is defined as the X-axis direction, the length direction of the terminal 100 is defined as the Y-axis direction, and the height direction of the terminal 100 is defined as the Z-axis direction.
[0058] 2-5 , the terminal 100 includes a support portion 110, a first elastic arm 120, a second elastic arm 130, and a plug portion 140. The support portion 110, the first elastic arm 120, the second elastic arm 130, and the plug portion 140 may be made of metal, wherein the support portion 110, the first elastic arm 120, the second elastic arm 130, and the plug portion 140 may be made of a conductive metal such as copper, silver, or aluminum. The terminal 100 may be an integral structure and may be stamped from a metal plate.
[0059] The support portion 110 includes a first surface 111 and a second surface 112 . The first surface 111 and the second surface 112 may be disposed opposite to each other along the Z-axis direction. The support portion 110 may be a flat plate structure.
[0060] One end of the first elastic arm 120 is connected to the support portion 110, and the other end of the first elastic arm 120 extends away from the support portion 110. It is understood that the end of the first elastic arm 120 away from the support portion 110 is located on the side of the first surface 111 facing away from the second surface 112. The first elastic arm 120 can be connected to a side of the support portion 110, or it can be connected to the first surface 111 of the support portion 110.
[0061] One end of the second elastic arm 130 is connected to the support portion 110, and the other end of the second elastic arm 130 extends away from the support portion 110. It is understood that the end of the second elastic arm 130 away from the support portion 110 is located on the side of the first surface 111 facing away from the second surface 112. The second elastic arm 130 can be connected to a side of the support portion 110, or it can be connected to the first surface 111 of the support portion 110. The first elastic arm 120 and the second elastic arm 130 are arranged opposite each other, and the first elastic arm 120 and the second elastic arm 130 are arranged opposite each other to clamp the mating terminal 200. When the mating terminal 200 is plugged into and mated with the terminal 100, the mating terminal 200 is inserted between the first elastic arm 120 and the second elastic arm 130 and contacts the first elastic arm 120 and the second elastic arm 130.
[0062] In the embodiment provided by the present disclosure, a first bend portion 121 is provided between the two ends of the first elastic arm 120, and the first bend portion 121 protrudes toward the direction of the second elastic arm 130. A second bend portion 131 is provided between the two ends of the second elastic arm 130, and the second bend portion 131 protrudes toward the direction of the first elastic arm 120. The first bend portion 121 and the second bend portion 131 are arranged opposite to each other, and the first bend portion 121 and the second bend portion 131 can be in contact or spaced apart. When the first elastic arm 120 and the second elastic arm 130 clamp the mating terminal 200, the mating terminal 200 contacts the first bend portion 121 and the second bend portion 131. In other words, the first bend portion 121 and the second bend portion 131 cooperate to clamp the mating terminal 200, which can improve the stability of the electrical connection between the mating terminal 200 and the terminal 100.
[0063] In the embodiment provided by the present disclosure, the first elastic arm 120 includes a first section 124 and a second section 125, wherein the first section is connected between the support portion 110 and the second section 125, and the connection between the first section 124 and the second section 125 forms a first bend 121. The second elastic arm 130 includes a third section 134 and a fourth section 135, wherein the third section 134 is connected between the support portion 110 and the fourth section 135, and the connection between the third section 134 and the fourth section 135 forms a second bend 131. The length of the first section 124 is d1, the length of the second section 125 is d2, the length of the third section 134 is d3, and the length of the fourth section 135 is d4. The first section 124 and the second section 125 satisfy the length relationship of d1>d2, and the third section 134 and the fourth section 135 satisfy the length relationship of d3>d4. The lengths of the first elastic arm 120 and the second elastic arm 130 of this embodiment are configured such that, because the first segment 124 and the third segment 134 are longer than the second segment 125 and the fourth segment 135, the distance between the contact point where the first elastic arm 120 and the second elastic arm 130 clamp the mating terminal 200 and the circuit board 300 is shortened, where the mating terminal 200 extends from the circuit board 300. Even in complex driving conditions, the mating terminal 200 and the terminal 100 can maintain greater connection stability and retention, while also allowing the mating terminal 200 to be shortened for easier terminal insertion. It can be understood that by setting the first section 124 and the second section 125 to satisfy the length relationship of d1>d2, and the third section 134 and the fourth section to satisfy the length relationship of d3>d4, if the insertion direction of the mating terminal 200 is offset when inserted into the terminal 100, since the length of the second section 125 and the fourth section is shorter, they can have better structural stress when contacting the mating terminal 200, and thus can provide a guiding effect for the mating terminal 200. Through this structural setting, the first elastic arm 120 or the second elastic arm 130 can be prevented from being squeezed and deformed when contacting the mating terminal 200 and thus damaged, thereby improving the service life of the terminal 100.
[0064] In the embodiment provided herein, the first elastic arm 120 gradually approaches the second elastic arm 130 from the end away from the support portion 110 to the first bent portion 121, and the second elastic arm 130 gradually approaches the first elastic arm 120 from the end away from the support portion 110 to the second bent portion 131, thereby forming a guide opening 100a. In other words, the guide opening 100a is formed between the second section 125 of the first elastic arm 120 and the fourth section of the second elastic arm 130.
[0065] The smaller the included angle of the guide opening 100 a is, the better the guiding effect of the guide opening 100 a on the mating terminal 100 is.
[0066] In the present disclosure, the first elastic arm 120 is formed by bending a thin sheet. The greater the degree of curvature of the first bent portion 121 in the first elastic arm 120, the smaller the angle formed by the curvature of the first bent portion 121. The smaller the degree of curvature of the first bent portion 121 in the first elastic arm 120, the larger the angle formed by the curvature of the first bent portion 121.
[0067] The second elastic arm 130 is formed by bending a thin sheet. The greater the degree of bending of the second bent portion 131 in the second elastic arm 130, the smaller the angle formed by the bending of the second bent portion 131. The smaller the degree of bending of the second bent portion 131 in the second elastic arm 130, the larger the angle formed by the bending of the second bent portion 131.
[0068] The included angle of the guide opening 100a is α1, the included angle between the first section 124 and the second section 125 is α2; the included angle between the third section 134 and the fourth section 135 is α3, so that α1<α2, α1<α3, which can make the guide opening 100a have a better guiding effect, making the first elastic arm 120 and the second elastic arm 130 less susceptible to wear, and can also reduce the possibility of elastic failure of the first elastic arm 120 and the second elastic arm 130 when the mating terminal 200 abuts against the first elastic arm 120 and the second elastic arm 130. Elastic failure refers to the phenomenon that the elastomer cannot return to its original state after excessive deformation. In the embodiment of the present application, by setting α1<α2, α1<α3, if the insertion direction of the mating terminal 200 is offset when inserted into the terminal 100, since the angle of the guide opening 100a is relatively small, it can have better structural stress when contacting the mating terminal 200, and thus can provide a guiding effect for the mating terminal 200. Through this structural setting, the first elastic arm 120 or the second elastic arm 130 can be prevented from being squeezed and deformed when contacting the mating terminal 200 and thus damaged, thereby improving the service life of the terminal 100.
[0069] In a specific embodiment, the included angle of the guide opening 100a is less than 90 degrees. The guide opening 100a can guide the mating terminal 200 so that the mating terminal 200 is inserted between the first bend portion 121 and the second bend portion 131, thereby reducing the possibility of the mating terminal 200 damaging the terminal 100 when plugging and mating with the terminal 100.
[0070] In the embodiment provided by the present disclosure, the plug-in portion 140 is connected to the support portion 110 and is used to position the terminal 100. Taking the terminal 100 applied to a battery assembly as an example, the plug-in portion 140 is welded to the circuit board 300 to achieve positioning of the terminal 100.
[0071] In the embodiment provided by the present disclosure, the plug-in portion 140 is connected to the support portion 110, and the first elastic arm 120 and the second elastic arm 130 are connected to the support portion 110. The plug-in portion 140, the first elastic arm 120, and the second elastic arm 130 are located on the same side of the support portion 110. Specifically, the other end of the plug-in portion 140 away from the support portion 110, the other end of the first elastic arm 120 away from the support portion 110, and the other end of the second elastic arm 130 away from the support portion 110 are all located on the side of the first surface 111 facing away from the second surface 112. When the mating terminal 200 is inserted between the first elastic arm 120 and the second elastic arm 130 through the guide opening 100a, the mating terminal 200 contacts the first elastic arm 120 and the second elastic arm 130, which can cause the first elastic arm 120 and the second elastic arm 130 to undergo elastic deformation. Along the Z-axis direction, the plug-in portion 140 has a certain height dimension, and there is a certain distance between the support portion 110 and the circuit board 300. When the mating terminal 200 is inserted between the first elastic arm 120 and the second elastic arm 130, the first elastic arm 120 and the second elastic arm 130 are subjected to force and transmitted to the plug-in portion 140. The plug-in portion 140 can undergo elastic deformation, so that the support portion 110 can shake relative to the plug-in portion 140. On the one hand, it can buffer the force of the mating terminal 200 acting on the first elastic arm 120 and the second elastic arm 130, reducing the possibility of the mating terminal 200 causing damage to the terminal 100. On the other hand, it can change the position of the first elastic arm 120 and the second elastic arm 130 to make it more convenient for the mating terminal 200 to be inserted between the first elastic arm 120 and the second elastic arm 130.
[0072] In the embodiment provided herein, the plug-in portion 140 includes a first connecting portion 141, a second connecting portion 142, a first pin 143, and a second pin 144. The first connecting portion 141 and the second connecting portion 142 are arranged opposite each other and spaced apart, and the first pin 143 and the second pin 144 are spaced apart. The first connecting portion 141 is connected between the first pin 143 and the support portion 110, thereby increasing the distance from the first pin 143 to the support portion 110 and facilitating control of the maximum elastic deformation amplitude of the first connecting portion 141. The second connecting portion 142 is connected between the second pin 144 and the support portion 110, thereby increasing the distance from the second pin 144 to the support portion 110 and facilitating control of the maximum elastic deformation amplitude of the second connecting portion 142.
[0073] The number of the first pins 143 can be two, the number of the second pins 144 can be two, and the two first pins 143 and the two second pins 144 are arranged in a rectangle, which can improve the connection stability between the terminal 100 and the circuit board 300 and the overall stability of the terminal 100.
[0074] In the embodiment provided by the present disclosure, the first connecting portion 141 includes a first connecting arm 141a, a second connecting arm 141b, and a third connecting arm 141c. The first connecting arm 141a and the second connecting arm 141b are spaced apart and connected to the support portion 110. The third connecting arm 141c is connected between the first connecting arm 141a and the second connecting arm 141b and is spaced apart from the support portion 110. The first connecting arm 141a, the second connecting arm 141b, the third connecting arm 141c, and the support portion 110 form a hollow area. This not only ensures sufficient strength for the first connecting portion 141, but also saves material for the terminal 100. The first pin 143 is connected to any one of the first connecting arm 141a, the second connecting arm 141b, and the third connecting arm 141c.
[0075] In the embodiment provided in the present disclosure, the first elastic arm 120 is located between the first connecting arm 141a and the second connecting arm 141b. When the first elastic arm 120 contacts the mating terminal 200 and is deformed, the first connecting arm 141a and the second connecting arm 141b can evenly bear the force transmitted from the support portion 110. On the one hand, it can reduce the stress concentration degree of the support portion 110 and increase the life of the terminal 100; on the other hand, it can make the force on the support portion 110 more balanced and improve the stability of the overall structure of the terminal 100.
[0076] In the embodiment provided herein, the second connecting portion 142 includes a fourth connecting arm 142a, a fifth connecting arm 142b, and a sixth connecting arm 142c. The fourth connecting arm 142a and the fifth connecting arm 142b are spaced apart and both connected to the support portion 110. The sixth connecting arm 142c is connected between the fourth connecting arm 142a and the fifth connecting arm 142b and is spaced apart from the support portion 110. The fourth connecting arm 142a, the fifth connecting arm 142b, the sixth connecting arm 142c, and the support portion 110 form a hollow area. This not only provides sufficient strength for the second connecting portion 142, but also saves material for the terminal 100. The first pin 143 is connected to any one of the fourth connecting arm 142a, the fifth connecting arm 142b, and the sixth connecting arm 142c. The second connecting portion 142 and the first connecting portion 141 may be symmetrical.
[0077] In the embodiment provided in the present disclosure, the second elastic arm 130 is located between the fourth connecting arm 142a and the fifth connecting arm 142b. When the second elastic arm 130 contacts the mating terminal 200 and is deformed, the fourth connecting arm 142a and the fifth connecting arm 142b can evenly bear the force transmitted from the support portion 110. On the one hand, it can reduce the stress concentration degree of the support portion 110 and increase the life of the terminal 100; on the other hand, it can make the force on the support portion 110 more balanced and improve the stability of the overall structure of the terminal 100.
[0078] In some embodiments, terminal 100 is stamped from a metal sheet having a thickness of T. This allows the thickness of each portion of terminal 100, including support portion 110, first elastic arm 120, and second elastic arm 130, to be uniformly T. The distance along the X-axis between the connection point of support portion 110 with first elastic arm 120 and the connection point with second elastic arm 130 is L1, and the distance along the X-axis between the connection point of support portion 110 with first connecting portion 141 and the connection point with second connecting portion 142 is L2. Terminal 100 satisfies the following relationship: 1.5*T≤L1≤1.5*L2. This facilitates stamping and forming of first and second elastic arms 120, 130, ensuring sufficient elasticity. Furthermore, it allows for a suitable angle to be formed between first segment 124 of first elastic arm 120 and third segment 134 of second elastic arm 130, thereby enhancing the stability of first and second elastic arms 120, 130 in clamping the mating terminal 200.
[0079] In the embodiment provided by the present disclosure, referring to FIG3 b , the number of the first elastic arm 120 may be one. Referring to FIG3 a and FIG3 c , the number of the first elastic arms 120 may be more than two, and the number of the second elastic arms 130 corresponds to the number of the first elastic arms 120 .
[0080] Referring to Figures 6-8 , unlike the terminal in Figure 2 , first elastic arm 120 has a first recess 122 and a second recess 123 disposed opposite each other. Both first and second recesses 122, 123 are located between the ends of first section 124 and can be symmetrically arranged. Providing first and second recesses 122, 123 on first elastic arm 120 improves elasticity.
[0081] The second elastic arm 130 has a third recess 132 and a fourth recess 133 disposed opposite each other. Both the third recess 132 and the fourth recess 133 are located between the ends of the third section 134. The third recess 132 and the fourth recess 133 can be symmetrically arranged. The provision of the third recess 132 and the fourth recess 133 in the second elastic arm 130 can provide the second elastic arm 130 with improved elastic properties.
[0082] Please refer to Figures 9 to 11. Unlike the terminal 100 in Figure 2, the support portion 110 is provided with a avoidance opening 113. The avoidance opening 113 is located in the projection direction of the guide opening 100a along the insertion direction of the mating terminal 200. The avoidance opening 113 can avoid the mating terminal 200 from being inserted too far.
[0083] When the mating terminal 200 is plugged into and mated with the terminal 100, the mating terminal 200 first passes through the guide opening 100a and then extends between the first bend portion 121 and the second bend portion 131. If the mating terminal 200 is inserted too far, the end of the mating terminal 200 is likely to hit the support portion 110. It should be noted that the guide opening 100a and the support portion 110 are arranged in sequence along the insertion direction of the mating terminal 200. The support portion 110 is provided with a relief opening 113. When the mating terminal 200 is inserted too far, the end of the mating terminal 200 will extend into or pass through the relief opening 113, reducing the possibility of the mating terminal 200 hitting the support portion 110 due to excessive insertion, thereby reducing the possibility of the mating terminal 200 damaging the terminal 100 during the plugging and mating process, thereby increasing the service life of the terminal 100. The avoidance opening 113 is located on a projection of the guide opening 100 a along the insertion direction of the mating terminal 200 . The avoidance opening 113 allows the mating terminal 200 to be inserted without contacting the mating terminal 200 .
