[0009] In this application, "based on XX" means "based on at least XX," and includes cases where it is based on other elements in addition to XX. Furthermore, "based on XX" is not limited to cases where XX is used directly, but also includes cases where it is based on XX that has been calculated or processed. "XX" is any element (for example, any information).
[0010] The shape restoration device is a device for restoring the shape of a machining surface from machining surface data, that is, a device for extracting shape components from machining surface data and generating new machining surface data.
[0011] The processed surface data is data that indicates the state of the processed surface, such as the state of the unevenness of the processed surface.
[0012] The machined surface data indicating the state of the machined surface is generated by, for example, a machining simulation using a machining program. The machining simulation is, for example, a simulation of cutting processing by a processing machine.
[0013] The shape restoration device is implemented in, for example, a numerical control device, a PC (Personal Computer), a server, or a tablet terminal.
[0014] 1 is a block diagram showing an example of the hardware configuration of a shape restoration device 1. The shape restoration device 1 includes, for example, a hardware processor 101, a bus 102, a read-only memory (ROM) 103, a random access memory (RAM) 104, a non-volatile memory 105, and an input / output device 106.
[0015] The hardware processor 101 is a processor that uses a system program to control the entire shape restoration device 1. The hardware processor 101 reads the system program stored in the ROM 103 via the bus 102. The hardware processor 101 is, for example, a CPU (Central Processing Unit) or an electronic circuit.
[0016] The bus 102 is a communication path that connects the various pieces of hardware in the shape restoration device 1. The various pieces of hardware in the shape restoration device 1 exchange data via the bus 102.
[0017] The ROM 103 is a storage device that stores system programs, etc. The ROM 103 is a computer-readable storage medium.
[0018] The RAM 104 is a storage device that temporarily stores various data and functions as a work area for the hardware processor 101 to process various data.
[0019] The nonvolatile memory 105 is a storage device that retains data even when the power to the shape restoring device 1 is turned off. The nonvolatile memory 105 stores, for example, processing surface data. The nonvolatile memory 105 is a computer-readable storage medium. The nonvolatile memory 105 is, for example, a battery-backed memory or an SSD (Solid State Drive).
[0020] The input / output device 106 receives various data from the hardware processor 101 and displays the data on a display. The input / output device 106 also receives input of various data and sends the data to the hardware processor 101, for example.
[0021] The input / output device 106 is, for example, a touch panel. When the input / output device 106 is a touch panel, the input / output device 106 is, for example, a capacitive touch panel. The touch panel is not limited to a capacitive touch panel and may be a touch panel of another type.
[0022] 2 is a block diagram showing an example of the functions of the shape restoration device 1. The shape restoration device 1 includes a simulation unit 111, an acquisition unit 112, a filter generation unit 113, an adjustment unit 114, a filter processing unit 115, and an output unit 116. The simulation unit 111, the acquisition unit 112, the filter generation unit 113, the adjustment unit 114, the filter processing unit 115, and the output unit 116 are realized, for example, by the hardware processor 101 performing arithmetic processing using a system program stored in the ROM 103 and various programs and data stored in the non-volatile memory 105.
[0023] The simulation unit 111 executes a machining simulation to generate machining surface data. The machining simulation is a process for generating machining surface data based on a virtual model of a machining machine, a machining program, and machining information. The simulation unit 111 generates the machining surface data based on, for example, the virtual model, the machining program, and the machining information stored in a storage unit (not shown).
[0024] The virtual model includes, for example, a model of a structure constituting the processing machine and a model of a workpiece. The model of the structure is generated based on information such as the shape, weight, strength, material, etc. of the structure. The model of the workpiece is generated based on information such as the shape, weight, strength, material, etc. of the workpiece.
[0025] The machining information is information indicating the conditions under which the machining surface is machined by a tool, and includes at least one of information indicating the radius of the tool, information indicating the shape of the tool, information indicating the number of teeth of the tool, information indicating the maximum acceleration of the control axis, information indicating the acceleration time of the control axis, information indicating the time constant of the servo mechanism, information indicating the gain of the servo mechanism, information indicating the pick feed, and information indicating the point sequence distance.
[0026] The information indicating the shape of the tool includes information indicating the type of tool, such as a ball end mill or a square end mill.
[0027] The information indicating the gain of the servo mechanism includes information indicating at least one of the speed gain, current gain, position gain, and feedforward setting of the servo mechanism. The feedforward setting is a setting for predicting a delay in the operation of the servo mechanism and issuing a command to compensate for the delay in advance.
[0028] The pick feed is the spacing between tool paths specified in CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing). For example, if a first path of a tool and a second path adjacent to the first path are parallel, the pick feed is the distance between the first path and the second path. The point sequence distance is the distance between multiple points used to specify the tool path.
[0029] The machining surface data is, for example, three-dimensional data indicating the height of the machining surface. That is, the machining surface data is three-dimensional data indicating the unevenness of the machining surface. The machining surface data may be two-dimensional data indicating the height of the machining surface. The two-dimensional data indicating the height of the machining surface is also called a height map.
[0030] The machined surface data generated by the simulation unit 111 includes a plurality of components. When the unevenness of the machined surface is regarded as a waveform, the plurality of components are high-frequency components and low-frequency components included in the waveform.
[0031] The high frequency components are surface texture components, which are components that represent, for example, cutting marks. The surface texture components are also called roughness components.
[0032] The low frequency components are shape components that represent the design shape of the workpiece.
[0033] Fig. 3A is a diagram showing an example of a machined surface indicated by the machined surface data generated by the simulation unit 111. Fig. 3B is an enlarged view of a part of the machined surface.
[0034] 3A, the processed surface MS has a shape with large convex portions and large concave portions along the X axis. The concave and convex portions along the X axis are shape components.
[0035] The machined surface MS also has multiple arc-shaped grooves that are continuous along the Y axis (FIG. 3B). If the multiple grooves that are continuous along the Y axis are considered to be a waveform, the frequency of this waveform is higher than the frequency of the above-mentioned unevenness. The multiple grooves formed along the Y axis are surface texture components. The multiple grooves are also cutting marks formed by a tool. Now, let's return to the explanation of FIG. 2.
[0036] The acquisition unit 112 acquires machining information indicating the conditions when the machining surface MS is machined by a tool, trajectory information indicating the trajectory when the machining surface MS is machined by the tool, and machining surface data indicating the state of the machining surface MS.
[0037] The acquisition unit 112 acquires the machining information from, for example, a machining information storage unit (not shown) and also acquires the machining surface data generated by the simulation unit 111.
[0038] The acquiring unit 112 acquires, for example, trajectory information from the machining surface data. In the example shown in Figures 3A and 3B, multiple arc-shaped grooves are formed parallel to the XZ plane. In this case, the acquiring unit 112 acquires, for example, a direction along the X axis as trajectory information indicating the trajectory of the tool.
[0039] The acquisition unit 112 may acquire trajectory information indicating the trajectory of the tool based on the machining program. That is, the acquisition unit 112 may analyze the machining program to acquire the trajectory information indicating the trajectory of the tool.
[0040] The machining surface data acquired by the acquisition unit 112 is converted into two-dimensional data.
[0041] 4 is a diagram showing an example of machining surface data converted into two-dimensional data. The two-dimensional data is data in which numerical values N1, N2, and N3 indicating the height of the machining surface are associated with each of the areas divided into a grid and recorded. Although not shown in the figure, numerical values indicating the height of the machining surface are also similarly associated and recorded for the other areas.
[0042] The two-dimensional data is generated so that the tool trajectory follows the rows or columns of the two-dimensional data. For example, in one row of the two-dimensional data, numerical values indicating the height of one groove formed along the X-axis are recorded in sequence. In addition, in another row of the two-dimensional data, numerical values indicating the height of another groove formed along the X-axis are recorded. By generating the tool trajectory so that it follows the rows or columns of the two-dimensional data, the filtering process described below can be performed effectively.
[0043] The filter generating unit 113 generates a filter for extracting the shape components of the machining surface MS from the machining surface data based on the machining information acquired by the acquiring unit 112 .
[0044] The filter may be at least one of a low-pass filter, a high-pass filter, a band-pass filter, and a band-stop filter, a Gaussian filter, a Laplacian filter, a one-dimensional filter, or a two-dimensional filter.
[0045] The filter generation unit 113 sets a threshold value for the filter based on, for example, the pick feed indicated by the trajectory of the tool on the machining surface MS. The threshold value set for the filter is a threshold value for extracting a specific component.
[0046] When the filter threshold is set based on the pick feed, the filter threshold is a threshold for separating the surface texture components of the machined surface MS. The filter for separating the surface texture components and extracting the shape components is a low-pass filter. The threshold is also called a cutoff value or a nesting index.
[0047] 5 is a diagram showing an example of a one-dimensional filter generated by the filter generating unit 113. The kernel width of the one-dimensional filter is, for example, 1 × 3. The coefficients of the filter are determined according to a threshold value.
[0048] The adjustment unit 114 adjusts the direction of the filtering process using the filter on the machining surface data based on the trajectory information.
[0049] Filtering is a process for extracting specific components from machined surface data. For example, filtering is a process for separating the surface texture component from machined surface data that includes a surface texture component and a shape component, and extracting the shape component.
[0050] 6 is a diagram for explaining the direction of filtering. The direction of filtering is, for example, a direction along the tool trajectory or a direction perpendicular to the tool trajectory. In the example shown in FIG. 6, the direction along the tool trajectory is a direction along the X-axis. In the example shown in FIG. 6, the direction perpendicular to the tool trajectory is a direction along the Y-axis.
[0051] Adjusting the filtering direction means determining the filtering direction for extracting a specific component from the machining surface data, such as a shape component.
[0052] 6, the surface texture component does not appear in the direction along the tool trajectory. In this case, even if filtering is performed in the direction along the tool trajectory, the surface texture component cannot be separated from the machined surface data.
[0053] On the other hand, surface texture components appear in the direction perpendicular to the tool trajectory. In this case, by performing filtering in the direction perpendicular to the tool trajectory, it is possible to separate the surface texture components from the machined surface data and extract the shape components. Therefore, the adjustment unit 114 determines the direction of filtering to be the direction perpendicular to the tool trajectory.
[0054] Fig. 7 is a diagram showing an example of a machined surface from which the surface texture components have been separated and the shape components have been extracted. Cutting marks have been removed from the machined surface shown in Fig. 7. In other words, the adjustment unit 114 determines the direction of the filtering process to be perpendicular to the tool trajectory, thereby obtaining machined surface data that represents only the shape components.
[0055] 8 shows an example of a two-dimensional filter generated by the filter generation unit 113. The kernel width of the two-dimensional filter is, for example, 5 x 5. The coefficients of the filter are determined according to a threshold value.
[0056] The coefficients of the first row of the filter shown in Figure 8 are 1 / 256, 4 / 256, 6 / 256, 4 / 256, and 1 / 256. That is, the ratio of each coefficient is 1:4:6:4:1. The ratios of each coefficient in the other rows and columns are similar. That is, in the filter shown in Figure 8, the intensity in the direction along the rows is the same as the intensity in the direction along the columns. The intensity is an index that indicates the accuracy with which a specific component can be extracted.
[0057] The adjustment unit 114 adjusts the filter coefficients based on the trajectory information.
[0058] 9 shows an example of a filter whose coefficients have been adjusted by the adjustment unit 114. The ratio of the coefficients arranged along the columns of the filter is 1:4:6:4:1. Meanwhile, the ratio of the coefficients arranged along the rows of the filter is 6:15:20:15:6. In other words, the filter shown in FIG. 9 has a higher strength along the columns than along the rows.
[0059] When the shape components of the machined surface shown in FIG. 3A are extracted, the adjustment unit 114 adjusts the coefficients of the filter so that the strength in the direction perpendicular to the tool trajectory is increased.
[0060] The filter processing unit 115 performs filtering based on the result of adjustment by the adjustment unit 114. That is, the filter processing unit 115 performs filtering of the machining surface MS based on the direction of filtering adjusted by the adjustment unit 114.
[0061] If the filter is a one-dimensional filter, the adjustment unit 114 determines to perform filtering in a direction perpendicular to the tool trajectory, and the filtering unit 115 therefore performs filtering in a direction perpendicular to the tool trajectory.
[0062] In this way, the filter processing unit 115 restores the shape of the machining surface MS. In other words, the filter processing unit 115 separates the surface texture components from the machining surface data to generate new machining surface data indicating the shape components. The new machining surface data is two-dimensional data generated by the filter processing, or three-dimensional data converted from the two-dimensional data.
[0063] If the filter is a two-dimensional filter, the adjustment unit 114 adjusts the coefficients of the filter so that the strength in the direction perpendicular to the tool trajectory is increased. Therefore, the filter processing unit 115 performs filtering using a filter whose strength in the direction perpendicular to the tool trajectory is increased. In this way, the filter processing unit 115 restores the shape of the machining surface MS. Now, returning to the description of FIG. 2 .
[0064] The output unit 116 outputs the newly generated machining surface data resulting from the separation of the surface texture components. The output unit 116 outputs the newly generated machining surface data to, for example, the input / output device 106. The input / output device 106 displays the new machining surface data on a display.
[0065] 10 is a flowchart showing an example of processing executed by the shape restoring device 1. In the shape restoring device 1, first, the simulation unit 111 executes a processing simulation (step SA1).
[0066] Next, the acquisition unit 112 acquires the machining information, the trajectory information, and the machining surface data (step SA2), and then the filter generation unit 113 generates a filter (step SA3).
[0067] Next, the adjustment unit 114 adjusts the direction of the filter processing or adjusts the filter coefficients (step SA4). Next, the filter processing unit 115 performs the filter processing (step SA5). Finally, the output unit 116 outputs the new machining surface data (step SA6), and the process ends.
[0068] In the above-described embodiment, the machining surface data is generated by the simulation unit 111. However, the machining surface data may be inspection data acquired by an inspection device that inspects the state of the machining surface MS. In other words, the machining surface data may be data that indicates the state of the machining surface MS that has actually been machined by a processing machine. In this case, the acquisition unit 112 may acquire the inspection data acquired by the inspection device.
[0069] In the above-described embodiment, an example has been described in which the tool trajectory is formed along one direction across the entire machining surface MS. However, the tool trajectory may be different in each region of the machining surface MS. In this case, the shape restoration device 1 may generate and adjust a filter for each region in which the tool trajectory faces the same direction, and then perform filtering.
[0070] In the above-described embodiment, an example has been described in which surface texture components are separated from the machined surface data by filtering to extract shape components. However, if defects such as streaks or patterns exist on the machined surface indicated by the machined surface data, these defects may not be removed. In this case, the shape restoration device 1 may correct the machined surface data that has been filtered by the filter processing unit 115.
[0071] Streaks are scratches on the machined surface that are deeper than the cutting marks. Streaks are formed, for example, when a user makes an operational error in the CAM, resulting in a defect in the machining program. Patterns also appear when a tool is machining a curved surface and the tool path is formed by multiple minute line segments. In other words, patterns can appear due to the tolerance settings in the CAM.
[0072] Fig. 11 is a block diagram showing an example of the functions of the shape restoring device 1. The shape restoring device 1 shown in Fig. 11 includes a thinning processing unit 117, a correction surface generation unit 118, and a setting unit 119 in addition to the functions of the shape restoring device 1 shown in Fig. 2. The thinning processing unit 117, the correction surface generation unit 118, and the setting unit 119 are realized, for example, by the hardware processor 101 performing arithmetic processing using a system program stored in the ROM 103 and various programs and data stored in the non-volatile memory 105.
[0073] The thinning processing unit 117 determines whether or not the filtered machining surface data needs to be modified. In other words, the thinning processing unit 117 determines whether or not to perform thinning processing on the filtered machining surface data.
[0074] The thinning processing unit 117 determines whether or not the processed surface data on which the filtering process has been performed contains defects, for example, and determines that thinning processing is necessary when, for example, streaks of a predetermined depth or greater exist on the processed surface indicated by the processed surface data on which the filtering process has been performed.
[0075] If it is determined that thinning processing is necessary, the thinning processing unit 117 performs thinning processing to thin out some data from the processed surface data that has been subjected to filtering processing. The thinning processing unit 117 performs thinning processing using, for example, at least one of uniform sampling, random sampling, and normal space sampling.
[0076] Fig. 12 is a diagram for explaining uniform sampling. In uniform sampling, sampling is performed at predetermined intervals on the processed surface. The positions of the black circles in Fig. 12 are sampled positions. In other words, the thinning unit 117 thins out data at positions other than the sampled positions.
[0077] Fig. 13 is a diagram for explaining random sampling. In random sampling, sampling is performed randomly on the processed surface. The positions of the black circles in Fig. 13 are sampled positions. In other words, the thinning unit 117 thins out data at positions other than the sampled positions.
[0078] In normal space sampling, data is sampled with a focus on positions where the direction of the normal to the machined surface changes significantly. Therefore, in normal space sampling, for example, data is sampled with a focus on positions where the shape of the machined surface changes significantly.
[0079] The correction surface generating unit 118 generates a correction surface in which the machining surface is corrected from the machining surface data from which some of the data has been thinned out by the thinning processing unit 117. The correction is to smooth out defects formed on the machining surface so that they are less noticeable.
[0080] The correction surface generating unit 118 generates a correction surface using at least one of linear interpolation surface approximation, cubic spline interpolation surface approximation, nearest neighbor point interpolation surface approximation, and interpolation approximation using a radial basis function.
[0081] The correction surface generating unit 118 generates a correction surface so that the difference between the processed surface on which the filtering process has been performed and the correction surface falls within a predetermined range.
[0082] 14A and 14B are diagrams showing an example of a processed surface and a corrected surface on which filtering has been performed. The dotted line indicates the processed surface, and the solid line indicates the corrected surface.
[0083] 14A, there is a portion where the difference between the machining surface and the correction surface is large, that is, the difference between the machining surface and the correction surface does not fall within a predetermined range.
[0084] 14B, the difference between the machined surface and the repaired surface is small overall, that is, the difference between the machined surface and the repaired surface is within a predetermined range.
[0085] If the difference between the generated correction surface and the machining surface does not fall within a predetermined range, the correction surface generating unit 118 may regenerate the correction surface so that the difference between the machining surface and the correction surface falls within the predetermined range.
[0086] The shape restoring device 1 may be able to individually set the distances between the multiple positions included in the machining surface data on which the thinning process has been performed and the multiple corresponding positions corresponding to the multiple positions included in the correction surface. In other words, the user can set the extent to which the machining surface indicated by the machining surface data on which the filtering process has been performed is to be corrected. In this case, the shape restoring device 1 further includes a setting unit 119 that individually sets the distances between the multiple positions included in the machining surface data on which the thinning process has been performed and the multiple corresponding positions corresponding to the multiple positions included in the correction surface.
[0087] 15A is a diagram for explaining setting of the distance between the machining surface and the correction surface. The setting unit 119 sets the distances between a plurality of positions on the machining surface and corresponding positions on the correction surface that correspond to the plurality of positions, for example, based on a user's operation on the input / output device 106.
[0088] For example, the setting unit 119 sets the distance between the position P1 indicated by the machining surface data and the correction surface to zero.
[0089] The correction plane generating unit 118 generates a correction plane based on the distance set by the setting unit 119. Therefore, when the distance between the position P1 included in the machining plane data and the correction plane is set to 0, the correction plane generating unit 118 sets the distance between the position P1 included in the machining plane data and the correction plane to 0. In other words, the correction plane generating unit 118 does not correct the position P1 indicated by the machining plane data.
[0090] Furthermore, the setting unit 119 sets, for example, the distance between the position P4 included in the machining surface data and the correction surface to 0. In this case, the correction surface generating unit 118 does not correct the position P4.
[0091] The setting unit 119 sets the distance between the position P2 included in the machining surface data and the correction surface to D1. The correction surface generating unit 118 generates the correction surface so that the distance between the position P2 included in the machining surface data and the correction surface is within D1.
[0092] The setting unit 119 also sets the distance between the position P3 included in the machining surface data and the correction surface to D2. The correction surface generating unit 118 generates the correction surface so that the distance between the position P3 included in the machining surface data and the correction surface is within D2.
[0093] 15B is an example of a correction plane generated by the correction plane generating section 118. The correction plane generating section 118 generates the correction plane without correcting the positions P1 and P4.
[0094] On the other hand, the correction plane generating unit 118 corrects the position P2 to a position P2A. The distance between the position P2A on the correction plane and the position P2 on the processing plane is equal to or less than D1.
[0095] Furthermore, the correction plane generating unit 118 corrects the position P3 to a position P3A. The distance between the position P3A on the correction plane and the position P3 on the processing plane is equal to or less than D2.
[0096] The setting unit 119 may individually set the distances between the plurality of positions on the machining surface and the plurality of corresponding positions on the correction surface based on the curvature of the machining surface indicated by the machining surface data.
[0097] 16 is a diagram showing an example of a machined surface. The dotted line indicates the machined surface. The solid line indicates the correction surface. In the machined surface shown in FIG. 16, the curvature near positions P5 and P6 is larger than the curvature at other positions.
[0098] For example, the setting unit 119 sets the distance between a position on the machining surface where the curvature is equal to or greater than a predetermined threshold and a corresponding position on the correction surface to 0. In addition, the setting unit 119 sets the distance between a position on the machining surface where the curvature is less than the predetermined threshold and a corresponding position on the correction surface to a range equal to or less than a predetermined value.
[0099] If the curvature at positions P5 and P6 is equal to or greater than a predetermined threshold, the correction surface generating unit 118 does not correct the machining surface data at positions P5 and P6. If the curvature at positions other than positions P5 and P6 is less than the predetermined threshold, the correction surface generating unit 118 corrects the machining surface data so that the amount of correction at positions other than positions P5 and P6 is equal to or less than a predetermined value.
[0100] Fig. 17 is a flowchart showing an example of processing executed by the shape restoration device 1. Of the processing shown in Fig. 17, the processing from steps SB1 to SB5 is the same as the processing from steps SA1 to SA5 shown in Fig. 10. Therefore, a description of the processing from steps SB1 to SB5 will be omitted.
[0101] When the processing of step SB5 is completed, the thinning processing unit 117 determines whether or not to perform thinning processing of the machining surface data (step SB6). If the thinning processing unit 117 determines to perform thinning processing (Yes in step SB6), the thinning processing unit 117 performs thinning processing (step SB7).
[0102] Next, the correction plane generating unit 118 generates a correction plane in which the machining surface has been corrected from the machining surface data from which some of the data has been thinned out (step SB8). Finally, the output unit 116 outputs correction plane data indicative of the correction plane corrected by the correction plane generating unit 118 (step SB9), and the process ends.
[0103] On the other hand, if the thinning processing unit 117 determines not to perform thinning processing (No in step SB6), the output unit 116 outputs the new machining surface data generated by performing the filter processing (step SB9), and the processing ends.
[0104] As described above, the shape restoration device 1 includes an acquisition unit 112 that acquires processing information indicating the conditions when the processing surface is processed by a tool, trajectory information indicating the trajectory when the processing surface is processed by the tool, and processing surface data indicating the state of the processing surface, a filter generation unit 113 that generates a filter for extracting shape components of the processing surface from the processing surface data based on the processing information acquired by the acquisition unit 112, an adjustment unit 114 that adjusts the direction of filter processing using a filter on the processing surface data or adjusts the coefficients of the filter based on the trajectory information, and a filter processing unit 115 that performs filter processing based on the adjustment result by the adjustment unit 114.
[0105] Therefore, the shape restoration device 1 can extract shape components from the machining surface data including cutting marks, etc. In other words, the shape restoration device 1 can acquire machining surface data indicating the design shape of the workpiece from the machining surface data including cutting marks, etc. Therefore, the shape restoration device 1 can acquire machining surface data indicating the design shape of the workpiece even if there is no design data indicating the shape of the workpiece.
[0106] The shape restoration device 1 further includes a simulation unit 111 that executes a machining simulation to generate machining surface data. Therefore, the shape restoration device 1 can restore the design shape of the machining surface MS by using the machining surface data before the workpiece is actually machined.
[0107] The machining surface data may be inspection data acquired by an inspection device that inspects the state of the machining surface MS. Therefore, the shape restoration device 1 can restore the design shape of the machining surface MS from the machining surface data of the actually machined machining surface MS.
[0108] The machining information includes at least one of information indicating the radius of the tool, information indicating the shape of the tool, information indicating the number of teeth of the tool, information indicating the maximum acceleration of the control axis, information indicating the acceleration time of the control axis, information indicating the time constant of the servo mechanism, information indicating the gain of the servo mechanism, information indicating the pick feed, and information indicating the point sequence distance. Therefore, the shape restoration device 1 can generate a filter based on various information.
[0109] The shape restoring device 1 further includes a thinning processing unit 117 that performs a thinning process to thin out some data from the machining surface data that has been subjected to the filtering process, and a correction surface generating unit 118 that generates a correction surface in which the machining surface has been corrected from the machining surface data from which some of the data has been thinned out by the thinning processing unit 117. The thinning processing unit 117 performs the thinning process using at least one of uniform sampling, random sampling, and normal space sampling.
[0110] Therefore, even if the processed surface on which the filtering process has been performed has defects such as streaks or patterns, the shape restoring device 1 can restore the shape of the processed surface.
[0111] Furthermore, the correction surface generating unit 118 generates the correction surface so that the difference between the filtered machining surface MS and the correction surface falls within a predetermined range, thereby enabling the shape restoring device 1 to appropriately restore the shape of the machining surface.
[0112] The correction surface generator 118 generates the correction surface using at least one of linear interpolation surface approximation, cubic spline interpolation surface approximation, nearest point interpolation surface approximation, and radial basis function interpolation approximation. Therefore, the shape restoration device 1 can appropriately restore the shape of the machined surface.
[0113] The shape restoring device 1 further includes a setting unit 119 that individually sets distances between a plurality of positions included in the machining surface data on which thinning processing has been performed and a plurality of corresponding positions that correspond to the plurality of positions included in the correction surface, and the correction surface generating unit 118 generates the correction surface based on the distances set by the setting unit 119. Therefore, the user can set how to correct the machining surface.
[0114] Furthermore, the setting unit 119 individually sets the distances between the plurality of positions and the plurality of corresponding positions based on the curvature of the machining surface indicated by the machining surface data. The setting unit 119 can, for example, set the machining surface data so that portions with large curvature are not modified. In this case, the shape restoring device 1 can leave the shapes of corners indicated by the shape components and the boundary lines between surfaces intact on the correction surface generated by the correction surface generating unit 118.
