In the following description, components having the same or similar functions will be designated by the same reference numerals. Duplicate descriptions of those components may be omitted.

[0009] In this application, "based on XX" means "based on at least XX," and includes cases where it is based on other elements in addition to XX. Furthermore, "based on XX" is not limited to cases where XX is used directly, but also includes cases where it is based on XX that has been calculated or processed. "XX" is any element (for example, any information).

[0010] The data map generating device is a device that generates a data map from machining surface data. The machining surface data is data that indicates the state of the machining surface. The state of the machining surface is, for example, the state of the unevenness of the machining surface.

[0011] The machining surface data indicating the state of the machined surface is generated, for example, by a machining simulation using a machining program. The machining simulation is a process of generating the machined surface data using a virtual model of the machining machine, the machining program, machining conditions, etc. The machining simulation is, for example, a simulation of cutting processing by the machining machine.

[0012] The virtual model includes, for example, a model of a structure constituting the processing machine and a model of a workpiece. The model of the structure is generated based on information such as the shape, weight, strength, material, etc. of the structure. The model of the workpiece is generated based on information such as the shape, weight, strength, material, etc. of the workpiece.

[0013] The processed surface data indicating the state of the processed surface may be generated based on the measurement results of the processed surface actually processed by the processing machine using the processing program. When the processed surface is actually processed by the processing machine, the processed surface may be measured by, for example, a three-dimensional scanner, a laser confocal microscope, or a white light interference microscope.

[0014] A data map is two-dimensional information in which predetermined information is associated with each of multiple regions corresponding to the machined surface. The predetermined information is a numerical value that indicates the characteristics of the machined surface. The data map is used for quantitative evaluation of the machined surface.

[0015] 1 is a diagram showing an example of a data map. The data map has a plurality of regions corresponding to the machining surface. Numerical values indicating the characteristics of the machining surface are associated with and recorded in each of the plurality of regions. For example, numerical values N1, N2, and N3 indicating the moving speed of the tool when machining the machining surface are associated with and recorded in each region of the data map.

[0016] 1, the numerical values recorded in association with the areas other than the first to third columns of the first row are omitted. Furthermore, information other than the numerical values indicating the tool movement speed when the machining surface is machined is also recorded in association with each area of the data map. The information other than the numerical values indicating the tool movement speed when the machining surface is machined will be described later.

[0017] The data map generating device is implemented in, for example, a numerical control device, a PC (Personal Computer), a server, or a tablet terminal.

[0018] 2 is a block diagram showing an example of the hardware configuration of a data map generating device 1. The data map generating device 1 includes, for example, a hardware processor 101, a bus 102, a read-only memory (ROM) 103, a random access memory (RAM) 104, a non-volatile memory 105, and an input / output device 106.

[0019] The hardware processor 101 is a processor that uses a system program to control the entire data map generating device 1. The hardware processor 101 reads the system program stored in the ROM 103 via the bus 102. The hardware processor 101 is, for example, a CPU (Central Processing Unit) or an electronic circuit.

[0020] The bus 102 is a communication path that connects the various pieces of hardware in the data map generating device 1. The various pieces of hardware in the data map generating device 1 exchange data via the bus 102.

[0021] The ROM 103 is a storage device that stores system programs, etc. The ROM 103 is a computer-readable storage medium.

[0022] The RAM 104 is a storage device that temporarily stores various data and functions as a work area for the hardware processor 101 to process various data.

[0023] The nonvolatile memory 105 is a storage device that retains data even when the power to the data map generating device 1 is turned off. The nonvolatile memory 105 stores, for example, machining surface data. The nonvolatile memory 105 is a computer-readable storage medium. The nonvolatile memory 105 is, for example, a battery-backed memory or an SSD (Solid State Drive).

[0024] The input / output device 106 receives various data from the hardware processor 101 and displays the data on a display. The input / output device 106 also receives input of various data and sends the data to the hardware processor 101, for example.

[0025] The input / output device 106 is, for example, a touch panel. When the input / output device 106 is a touch panel, the input / output device 106 is, for example, a capacitive touch panel. The touch panel is not limited to a capacitive touch panel and may be a touch panel of another type.

[0026] 3 is a block diagram showing an example of the functions of the data map generating device 1. The data map generating device 1 includes an acquiring unit 111, a processing information recording unit 112, a processing information assigning unit 113, a generating unit 114, and an output unit 115. The acquiring unit 111, the processing information recording unit 112, the processing information assigning unit 113, the generating unit 114, and the output unit 115 are realized, for example, by the hardware processor 101 performing arithmetic processing using a system program stored in the ROM 103 and various programs and data stored in the non-volatile memory 105.

[0027] The acquisition unit 111 acquires machined surface data indicating the state of the machined surface machined by the tool, machining information when the machined surface is machined by the tool, and shape data indicating the design shape of the machined surface.

[0028] 4 shows an example of a machined surface indicated by the machined surface data. The machined surface MS has a cutting mark C made by a tool T. In other words, the machined surface data indicating the state of the machined surface MS machined by the tool T is machined surface data that includes at least the cutting mark C made by the tool T. The cutting mark C is an arc-shaped groove formed along the tool trajectory.

[0029] The machining information is information when a machining simulation of a workpiece is executed or when a workpiece is actually machined in a machining machine.

[0030] The machining information includes at least one of information indicating the height of the machining surface MS, information indicating the moving speed of the tool T, information calculated based on the moving speed, information indicating the correction amount, information calculated based on the correction amount, information indicating the detected value of the detection signal, information calculated based on the detected value, information indicating the command value of the command signal, and information calculated based on the command value.

[0031] The height of the machined surface MS is, for example, an arithmetic mean height or a maximum height. Information indicating the height of the machined surface MS is obtained, for example, by acquiring two-dimensional data indicating the uneven state of the machined surface MS using a ray-casting method and extracting surface texture components from the acquired two-dimensional data.

[0032] The correction amounts include, for example, a backlash correction amount, a pitch error correction amount, a spatial error correction amount, and a thermal displacement correction amount. The command signals include, for example, a command signal for enabling a function and a command signal for operating an external device. The external device is, for example, a coolant, a fan, and a chip conveying device. The detection signals include a feedback signal in response to the command signal for enabling a function, a feedback signal from the external device, and a resource usage rate signal.

[0033] The information calculated based on the moving speed, correction amount, detection value, and command value may be a differential or integral value of the moving speed, a differential or integral value of the correction amount, a differential or integral value of the detection value, and a differential or integral value of the command value.

[0034] The machining information may include information indicating the dimensions of the tool T that machines the machining surface MS. The dimensions of the tool T are, for example, the diameter of the tool T or the radius R of the tool T. The tool T is, for example, a ball end mill. The machining information may include information indicating the number of blades of the tool T that machines the machining surface MS and information indicating the rotation speed of the tool T when the machining surface MS is machined.

[0035] The shape data is three-dimensional data that indicates the design shape of the workpiece. That is, the shape data does not include surface texture components such as cutting marks C of the tool T.

[0036] The shape data is, for example, three-dimensional CAD (Computer Aided Design) data (see FIG. 5). The shape data may be three-dimensional computer graphics data. The shape data is a three-dimensional model. Now, let us return to the description of FIG. 3.

[0037] The machining information recording unit 112 records machining information in association with the machining surface MS indicated by the machining surface data.

[0038] Fig. 6 shows an example of a machining surface MS associated with machining information. In the example shown in Fig. 6, the machining information is information indicating the movement speed of the tool T. That is, information indicating the movement speed of the tool T is recorded in association with the machining surface MS.

[0039] 6 shows that, in each tool path L, the movement speed is slower as it approaches the start point Ps and the end point Pe, and the movement speed is faster as it approaches the midpoint Pm between the start point Ps and the end point Pe. Now, returning to the description of FIG. 3 .

[0040] The machining information assigning unit 113 assigns machining information to the surface indicated by the corresponding shape data based on the machining surface data recorded in association with the machining information. The machining information assigning unit 113 superimposes the surface indicated by the corresponding shape data on the machining surface MS indicated by the machining surface data. At this time, the machining information assigning unit 113 superimposes the machining surface MS indicated by the machining surface data on the surface indicated by the shape data, for example, by aligning the reference point of the workpiece indicated by the machining surface data with the reference point of the workpiece indicated by the shape data.

[0041] The machining information providing unit 113 records the machining information recorded on the machined surface MS machined by the tool in association with a surface indicated by the shape data located in a predetermined direction with respect to the machined surface MS machined by the tool. The predetermined direction is, for example, the vertical direction.

[0042] 7 is a diagram illustrating an example in which the processing information assigning unit 113 associates processing information with a surface indicated by shape data and records the information. The processing information assigning unit 113 assigns processing information to a surface S located in the positive direction of the Z axis relative to the processing surface MS.

[0043] The machining information assigning unit 113 may further assign information indicating the distance between a machined surface MS machined by a tool and a surface S indicated by the shape data to the surface S indicated by the shape data. The distance between the machined surface MS and the surface S indicated by the shape data is, for example, the vertical distance between the machined surface MS and the surface S indicated by the shape data.

[0044] 8 is a diagram showing an example of a surface S indicated by shape data to which machining information has been added. Information indicating the movement speed of the tool T is associated with and recorded on the surface S indicated by the shape data. In FIG. 8, the lighter the color, the faster the movement speed of the tool T. Also, the darker the color, the slower the movement speed of the tool T.

[0045] The processing information providing unit 113 may record the processing information recorded on the processing surface MS in association with a surface S located in the normal direction of the processing surface MS.

[0046] 9 is a diagram showing an example of a surface S indicated by shape data to which processing information has been added. The processing information adding unit 113 records the processing information recorded on the processing surface MS in association with a surface S located in the normal direction of the processing surface MS.

[0047] The machining information providing unit 113 may record the machining information recorded on the machining surface MS in association with the surface S located in the horizontal direction, the normal direction of the surface S indicated by the shape data, or the direction along the virtual line that provides the shortest distance between the machining surface MS machined by the tool T and the surface S indicated by the shape data. Now, returning to the description of FIG. 3 .

[0048] The generation unit 114 performs UV mapping on the surface S indicated by the shape data to which processing information has been added, to generate a data map. UV mapping is the process of mapping a three-dimensional model onto a two-dimensional plane. By performing UV mapping on the surface S to which processing information has been added, a two-dimensional data map is generated.

[0049] Fig. 10 is an example of a data map. In the data map, the movement speed of the tool T is recorded in association with the machining information. In Fig. 10, the lighter the color, the faster the movement speed of the tool T. Also, the darker the color, the slower the movement speed of the tool T. Now, let us return to the explanation of Fig. 3.

[0050] The output unit 115 outputs the data map generated by the generation unit 114. The output unit 115 outputs the data map to, for example, the input / output device 106. The input / output device 106 displays the data map on a display, thereby enabling the user to quantitatively evaluate the machined surface MS.

[0051] 11 is a flowchart showing an example of processing executed by the data map generating device 1. In the data map generating device 1, first, the acquiring unit 111 acquires information (step S1). The information acquired by the acquiring unit 111 includes machining surface data, machining information, and shape data.

[0052] Next, the processing information recording unit 112 records the processing information in association with the processing surface MS (step S2). Next, the processing information assigning unit 113 assigns the processing information to the surface S indicated by the shape data (step S3).

[0053] Next, the generating unit 114 generates a data map (step S4), and then the output unit 115 outputs the data map (step S5), and the process ends.

[0054] As described above, the data map generating device 1 includes an acquiring unit 111 that acquires machining surface data indicating the state of the machining surface MS machined by the tool T, machining information when the machining surface MS is machined by the tool T, and shape data indicating the design shape of the machining surface MS, a machining information recording unit 112 that associates the machining information with the machining surface MS indicated by the machining surface data and records it, a machining information assigning unit 113 that assigns the machining information to the surface S indicated by the corresponding shape data based on the machining surface data associated and recorded with the machining information, and a generating unit 114 that generates a data map by UV-exploding the surface S indicated by the shape data to which the machining information has been assigned. Furthermore, the machining surface data indicating the state of the machining surface MS machined by the tool T is machining surface data that includes at least the cutting marks C of the tool T. Therefore, even if the machining surface data includes surface texture components such as the cutting marks C, the data map generating device 1 can reduce the processing load when expanding the machining surface data onto a two-dimensional plane and also reduce the amount of data in the data map.

[0055] If the machined surface data includes surface texture components such as cutting marks C, the machined surface MS has a complex shape, which increases the processing load when the machined surface data is expanded onto a two-dimensional plane. Furthermore, if the machined surface MS includes many irregularities, the area of the two-dimensional plane when the machined surface data is expanded onto a two-dimensional plane increases. In other words, the amount of data in the data map increases.

[0056] On the other hand, the data map generating device 1 of the present disclosure has the above configuration. Therefore, the data map generating device 1 can reduce the processing load when generating a data map and also reduce the amount of data in the data map.

[0057] The processing information also includes at least one of information indicating the moving speed of the tool T, information calculated based on the moving speed, information indicating the correction amount, information calculated based on the correction amount, information indicating the detected value of the detection signal, information calculated based on the detected value, information indicating the command value of the command signal, and information calculated based on the command value.

[0058] Therefore, the data map generating device 1 can generate data maps relating to various processing information.

[0059] Furthermore, the machining information assigning unit 113 further assigns information indicating the distance between the machined surface MS machined by the tool and the surface S indicated by the shape data to the surface S indicated by the shape data. Therefore, the data map generating device 1 can generate a data map having information indicating the distance between the machined surface MS and the surface S indicated by the shape data.

[0060] Furthermore, the machining information providing unit 113 records the machining information recorded on the machined surface MS machined by the tool in association with a surface S indicated by the shape data that is located in a predetermined direction with respect to the machined surface MS machined by the tool. The predetermined direction is the vertical direction, the horizontal direction, the normal direction of the machined surface MS, the normal direction of the surface S indicated by the shape data, or a direction along a virtual line that provides the shortest distance between the machined surface MS machined by the tool and the surface S indicated by the shape data.

[0061] Although the present disclosure has been described in detail, the present disclosure is not limited to the individual embodiments described above. Various additions, substitutions, modifications, partial deletions, etc. are possible to these embodiments without departing from the gist of the present disclosure or the gist of the present disclosure derived from the content of the claims and their equivalents. Furthermore, these embodiments can also be implemented in combination.
