Abstract
Description
[0001] Title: Device for the sucking-in of vapor from, for example, cannabis by a user, comprising components to be coupled to one another in a concentric manner
[0002] Description
[0003] The invention relates to a device intended and configured for the sucking-in of smoke and / or vapor from a quantity of a consumable, such as for example cannabis, via a suction opening by a user. A device of said type is known for example from an earlier patent application, NL1043581 , in the name of the same applicant.
[0004] The present invention aims to provide a device of the type indicated above that is suitable and configured for the use of cannabis, etc. in different containers or commercially available forms, such as in the form of small quantities of loose cannabis or packed in “sachets”, “pads” or “pots”, as proposed in the stated patent application NL1043581 , in which a “pot” of said type is provided with a (fixed) filter element. In this case, the use of a loose filter element is also an aim of the device according to the invention. In short, the invention aims to provide a “smoking pipe” by way of which different embodiments in which cannabis, etc. and filter elements or filter media (for example comprising activated carbon or minerals) are provided can be smoked.
[0005] To this end, according to the invention, provision is made of a device intended and configured for the sucking-in of smoke and / or vapor from a quantity of a consumable, such as for example cannabis, which is arranged in a burning chamber, via a suction opening by a user, wherein the device comprises a suction tube which is provided at the end directed away from the suction opening with a coupling region or coupling means (referred to below as coupling region), and wherein the burning chamber comprises a burning-chamber bushing or vessel (referred to below as chamber bushing for the sake of brevity) which is provided at one end with a coupling region that fits onto the coupling region of the suction tube.
[0006] The “coupling regions” referred to as such herein are preferably formed by regions in which an internal thread or an external thread is arranged, whereby the respective components can be coupled, that is to say fixedly screwed, to one another (so as to be dismountable), The coupling regions may however for example also be in the form of bayonet fastenings, clamp fittings or compression fittings, etc. The burning chamber further comprises a cover which is provided with a coupling region, while the chamber bushing is provided at both ends with a coupling region, at one end with a coupling region which fits onto the coupling region of the suction tube, and at the other end with a coupling region which fits onto the coupling region of the cover. It should be noted that the cover may be provided with openings by way of which the cannabis, etc. can be lit externally and, after the lighting, ensures that - via the suction pipe and suction opening - air for burning can be sucked in externally. Openings of said type may however be in the side wall of the burning chamber too or instead.
[0007] Optionally, the device may be provided with an extension sleeve provided at both ends with a coupling region, at one end with a coupling region which fits onto the coupling region of the chamber bushing and at the other end with a coupling region which fits onto the coupling region of the cover.
[0008] With the above measures, it may be achieved that the burning chamber - comprising the chamber bushing and the cover - can be used for the burning of both loose cannabis and pre-packed cannabis in the form of sachets, pads, pots and possibly other “modular” forms, insofar as they can be placed in the space of the burning chamber. Furthermore, by making use of the optional extension sleeve between the chamber bushing and the cover, the length and thus the volume of the burning chamber can be increased because the burning chamber in that case is formed by the chamber bushing, the extension sleeve and the cover.
[0009] The invention will now be discussed in more detail on the basis of the following description of the figures, in which: figures 1a-e show an exemplary embodiment of a device according to the invention.
[0010] Figures 1a-e show an exemplary embodiment of a device 1 according to the invention, intended and configured for the sucking-in of smoke and / or vapor from a quantity of a consumable, such as for example cannabis, which is arranged in a burning chamber 3, via a suction opening 2 by a user.
[0011] The device 1 comprises a suction tube 4 which is provided at the end directed away from the suction opening 2 with a coupling region 4a. In the exemplary embodiment shown in figures 1a-e, the coupling region 4a, just like the coupling regions still to be mentioned below, is in the form of a threaded region comprising an internal thread or an external thread, said threads fitting together. As indicated above, it would also be possible for differently designed, generally known coupling regions, such as coupling regions having a bayonet coupling, clamp coupling or compression coupling, to be used in place of the threaded regions.
[0012] The burning chamber 3 comprises a chamber bushing 5 (see also figure 1f) which is provided at one end with a coupling region 5a that fits onto the coupling region 4a of the suction tube 4. Internally, the chamber bushing 5 is provided at the side of the coupling region 5a with a base 5c (visible in figure 1 b), which is provided with perforations for allowing passage of the vapors and gases formed by burning to the suction tube 4. The burning chamber 3, beside the chamber bushing 5, further comprises a cover 6 which is provided with a coupling region 6a by way of which the chamber bushing 5 at its open side by the cover 6, which, for the purpose of allowing air for burning to be let in from the surroundings is, just like the base 5c of the chamber bushing 5, is provided with perforations.
[0013] The chamber bushing 5 is provided at both ends with a coupling region having a thread, at one end with the (already mentioned) coupling region 5a, which fits onto the coupling region 4a of the suction tube, and at the other end with a coupling region which fits onto the coupling region 6a of the cover. The chamber bushing 5 and the cover thus jointly form the burning chamber 3, which, as figure 1d shows, can be optionally increased in size into a burning chamber of increased size by means of an extension sleeve 7 between the chamber bushing 5 and the cover 6.
[0014] Figure 1a shows that the burning chamber 3 formed by the chamber bushing 5 and the cover 6 is filled by a so-called “Jack-Pod” 9a, that is to say an independent container in the form of a pot / box made of non-combustible material, for example aluminum, provided with perforations and filled (thus pre-packed) with cannabis or the like. Thus, in figure 1 , the “Jack-Pod” is arranged in its entirety in the burning chamber 3 formed by the chamber bushing 5 and the cover 6. If a “Jack-Pod” is used, the burning chamber stays cleaner and the user can fill and carry different “Jack-Pods” and quickly exchange them after use.
[0015] In the embodiment in figure 1d, provision is furthermore made of an extension sleeve 7 provided at both ends with a coupling region, specifically at one end with a coupling region 7a which fits onto the coupling region 5b of the chamber bushing 5 and at the other end with a coupling region 7b which fits onto the coupling region 6a of the cover 6. Thus, in figure 1 d, the extension sleeve 7 is accommodated between the chamber bushing 5 and the cover 6, whereby an extended burning chamber 3 is formed by the chamber bushing 5, the extension sleeve 7 and the cover 6.
[0016] Figure 1 furthermore also shows in figure 1a the placement of a loose filter element 8, and in figure 1e a “Jack-Pod” 9b with integrated filter element 10, which is known from the patent specification NL1043581 mentioned above.
[0017] Thus, the invention provides a “smoking pipe” by way of which different embodiments in which cannabis, etc. and filter elements are provided can be smoked.
