Description
[0001] AN AMMONIA REFRIGERATION SYSTEM
[0002] TECHNICAL FIELD
[0003] The invention relates to an ammonia refrigeration system that operates with an ammonia-water pair to provide cooling of a medium, comprising at least one condenser in which the ammonia is condensed and at least one evaporator in which the ammonia is evaporated.
[0004] PRIOR ART
[0005] Ammonia refrigeration systems are effective refrigeration systems used in industrial and commercial applications. These systems use ammonia as a refrigerant. Ammonia is an energy-efficient compound with a high refrigeration capacity and low environmental impact. It is generally preferred in large-scale applications such as food processing, freezer warehouses, industrial refrigeration facilities, supermarkets, chemical production plants and power plants.
[0006] The use of ammonia refrigeration systems in household refrigerators is limited and is generally preferred for some special occasions or environmentally friendly options. Ammonia refrigerators are advantageous in terms of longevity. Ammonia is considered an environmentally friendly refrigerant and has a low potential to damage the ozone layer. In the state of art, ammonia refrigeration systems, which are known for refrigerators, cannot meet the existing needs because they contain disadvantages that reduce efficiency such as heat losses and deficiencies in heat transfer.
[0007] As a result, all the above-mentioned problems have made it imperative to provide an innovation in the relevant technical field.
[0008] BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0009] The present invention relates to an ammonia refrigeration system in order to eliminate the above-mentioned disadvantages and to provide new advantages to the relevant technical field. One object of the invention is to provide an alternative and improved ammonia refrigeration system with increased efficiency compared to systems in the state of art.
[0010] Another object of the invention is to present that heat losses are reduced in undesirable areas and heat transfer is increased in areas where heat transfer is needed.
[0011] In order to accomplish all the objects mentioned above and deduced from the detailed description below, the present invention is an ammonia refrigeration system that works with an ammonia-water pair to cool a medium, comprising at least one condenser in which the ammonia is condensed and at least one evaporator in which the ammonia is evaporated. Accordingly, its novelty is that it comprises at least one flat sheet connected between the said evaporator and the evaporator pipe in such a way that it comes into contact with both the evaporator and the evaporator pipe. Thus, thermal conductivity is increased.
[0012] A feature of a possible embodiment of the invention is that the evaporator is a finned evaporator. Thus, the heat transfer in the evaporator is increased.
[0013] A feature of another possible embodiment of the invention is that it comprises at least one fastener that enables the evaporator to be detachably connected with the said flat sheet.
[0014] A feature of another possible embodiment of the invention is that it comprises at least one heat transfer part, which increases heat transfer by at least partially covering at least one of the evaporator and flat sheet.
[0015] A feature of another possible embodiment of the invention is that it comprises at least one pump pipe enabling the ammonia to be delivered to the said condenser, and at least one arc shaped resistance surrounding the pump pipe at least partially to provide heating of the said pump pipe.
[0016] A feature of another possible embodiment of the invention is that it comprises at least one insulating member, which reduces heat loss to the external environment by at least partially surrounding the pump pipe and the said arc shaped resistance. A feature of another possible embodiment of the invention is that the said pump pipe comprises at least one L-form to ensure the transmission of ammonia circulating between the evaporator and the condenser, and the said insulating member is configured to have an L-form, which is equivalent to the pump pipe.

[0019] Fig. 2 shows a representative exploded isometric view of the ammonia refrigeration system of the present invention.
[0020] Fig. 3 shows a representative side view of the ammonia refrigeration system of the present invention.
[0021] Fig. 4 shows a representative rear view of the ammonia refrigeration system of the present invention.
[0022] DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0023] In this detailed description, the subject of the invention is explained for a better understanding of the subject only with examples that will not create any limiting effect.
[0024] Fig. 1 shows a representative isometric view of the ammonia refrigeration system (10) of the present invention. The said ammonia refrigeration system (10) is particularly suitable for use in refrigerators such as mini-bars. The ammonia refrigeration system (10) works with ammonia-water pair. Accordingly, the ammonia refrigeration system (10) comprises at least one condenser (20) that provides cooling and condensation of ammonia vapor.
[0025] The ammonia vapor in the said condenser (20) condenses by giving heat to the ambient air and turns into ammonia liquid. In the process of condensation, ammonia gas molecules come together and turn into liquid form. As the ammonia vapor cools down in the condenser (20), the pressure decreases at the same time. The ammonia refrigeration system (10) comprises at least one evaporator (30). The said evaporator (30) allows the ammonia to evaporate. The evaporator (30) forms the refrigeration section of the ammonia refrigeration system (10). As the ammonia liquid in the evaporator (30) circulates through an expanding network of pipes or coils, it undergoes the evaporation process due to low pressure. In the meantime, it cools its surroundings by taking heat energy from the environment.
[0026] The said refrigeration system of the present invention essentially consists of a finned evaporator (30). The finned evaporator (30) has a pipe structure with thin metal flaps (fins) thereon. These fins provide more heat transfer by increasing the surface area. In this way, the evaporator (30) has a higher heat transfer efficiency and provides faster cooling. In addition, the finned evaporator (30) acts to make the air flow in the refrigeration cabinet laminar.
[0027] Fig. 2 shows a representative exploded isometric view of the ammonia refrigeration system (10) of the present invention. Accordingly, the ammonia refrigeration system (10) comprises at least one pump pipe (40). The said pump pipe (40) ensures the transmission of ammonia to the condenser (20) and acts as a preheat exchanger. The ammonia refrigeration system (10) comprises at least one arch shaped resistance (41). The said arch shaped resistance (41) surrounds at least partially around the pump pipe (40) and provides heating of the pump pipe (40). In this way, the arch shaped resistance (41) allows ammonia to reach the heat of vaporization by consuming less energy. The arch shaped resistance (41 ) has a power of 56W in a preferred embodiment. The pump pipe (40) bends to provide the transmission between the condenser (20) and the evaporator (30) and has at least one L-form (I).
[0028] The ammonia refrigeration system (10) comprises at least one insulating member (50). The said insulating member (50) is positioned to surround the pump pipe (40) and the arc shaped resistance (41 ). Thanks to the structure thereof, the insulating member (50) reduces heat losses from the area where the pump pipe (40) and arch shaped resistance (41) are located. The insulating member (50) comprises rock wool in a preferred embodiment. The insulating member (50) also has an L-form (I) to surround the pump pipe (40). There is at least one flat sheet (70) between the evaporator (30) and an evaporator pipe (31). The said flat sheet (70) is in the form of a rectangular plate in a possible embodiment and thanks to its structure, it serves to improve heat transfer by increasing the surface area in the evaporator (30). The connection between the flat sheet (70) and the evaporator (30) is provided by at least one fastener (80). The said fastener (80) is essentially a smart screw. In a possible embodiment of the invention, the flat sheet (70) is welded to the body of the evaporator (30).
[0029] The ammonia refrigeration system (10) comprises at least one heat transfer element (60). The said heat transfer element is coated around the flat sheet (70) in such a way that it at least partially surrounds the flat plate (70). However, the heat transfer element (60) is coated around the evaporator pipe (31 ) in such a way that it at least partially surrounds the evaporator pipe (31 ). The heat transfer element (60) is made of a material with a high heat transfer coefficient. In this context, the heat transfer element (60) is aluminum foil in a possible embodiment.
[0030] Thanks to all these embodiments, the ammonia refrigeration system (10) of the present invention is an alternative to the structures in the state of art, but it also provides a solution to the inefficiency problems in the state of art.
[0031] The protection scope of the invention is specified in the appended claims and cannot be limited to what is described in this detailed description for illustrative purposes. It is clear that a person skilled in the art can present similar structures in the light of the above, without leaving the main scope of the invention.
