Abstract
Description
"SYSTEM INSTALLABLE IN A DOOR OR WINDOW PANEL COMPRISINGA LOCK AND A CONCEALED CONNECTION DEVICE" DESCRIPTION
[0001] The present invention relates to a system that is installable in a panel of a door or window . The present invention relates to a door or window comprising the system . The present invention relates to a method for installing a lock in a panel of a door or window .
[0002] As is known, the door or window panel is provided with a special lock compartment that is suitable for accommodating the box-like body of the lock containing the mechanisms for locking the panel , for example a mechanism with a mechanical bolt or magnetic bolt .
[0003] For known locks , once the box-l ike body has been inserted into the lock compartment , one or more threaded screws are inserted into special holes passing through the thickness of the front plate of the lock, starting from the outer front face of said front plate , and are then screwed directly into the door or window panel , anchoring the front plate or the entire lock to the panel .
[0004] An example of a lock equipped with a traditional system for instal ling the lock in the door or window panel based on threaded screws passing through the front plate , is described in European patent EP3249140B1 in the name of the Applicant .
[0005] One problem with such locks of the prior art is linked to the fact that screws that are visible on the front face of the plate , insofar as they are unsightly, greatly reduce the market attractiveness of the lock .
[0006] The innovation in the sector, in fact , is driven by new technical solutions that make it possible to conceal systems for installing a lock in a panel in order to obtain the front plate o f the lock, in particular the front face thereof that is externally visible , substantially integral and free from surface interruptions , in particular without fastening screws .
[0007] In this regard, in line with market trends , the Applicant is the owner of the international application W02022064410A1 relating to a lock comprising a system for connecting the front plate to the box-like body of the lock, by virtue of which the front face of the front plate is integral and substantially free of surface interruptions .
[0008] Locks that may be installed in a door or window panel by means of threaded screws passing through the front plate are also known in the sector, and comprise special additional components , also known as " front panels" , that may be applied directly to the front plate of the lock, for example by snapping, and that are suitable for hiding the fastening screws . Such solutions make it possible tocustomi ze the lock, but on the other hand they require an additional component that must meet the high aesthetic requirements imposed by the market , as well as necessitating the prior provision of a lock compartment that is speci fically dimensioned to also accommodate such additional component .
[0009] Document DE2236214A1 describes a lock comprising a shaped spring which grips the box body at the rear in the lock compartment . This solution requires the pos itioning of an additional component within a concealed and di f f icult-to-access region, with a consequent disadvantage as regards the installation steps . Document GB100906A describes a lock comprising a pinion and two threaded pins which are inserted into special lowered seats within the lock compartment . This solution is particularly cumbersome and complex and requires additional machining . Document EP0404743A1 describes a lock comprising a pair of vertically opposing springs that hold the box-li ke body only weakly and temporarily, thereby allowing the locking screws passing through the thickness of the panel to be screwed . This solution has visible locking screws which are particularly unsightly . In the sector document DE2058708A1 describes a lock comprising a front plate divided into three components , which is therefore particularly complex to manufacture and does not solve theproblem of visible screws .
[0010] The obj ect of the present invention is to provide a system comprising a device for connecting the lock to a door or window panel that , with the lock installed in the panel , is completely externally concealed .
[0011] The obj ect of the present invention is also to provide a system comprising a lock having a strong aesthetic character insofar as it has a front face of the front plate without any surface interruptions , in particular without threaded screws for fastening the lock to the panel of the door or window .
[0012] A further obj ect of the present invention is to introduce a system comprising a device for connecting the lock to a panel that is structurally simple , advantageous to produce , and with which the operations for installing the lock in the door or window panel are s impli fied .
[0013] Another obj ect of the present invention consists in implementing a system comprising a device for connecting the lock to the panel which does not require additional components to be applied to the front plate , and which does not require a specially modi fied panel lock compartment , thus being interchangeable with locks and panels that are already on the market .
[0014] These and other obj ects are achieved by the system, the door or window and the method for installing a lockaccording to the independent claims . The claims dependent thereon are seeking protection for technical features that entail further technical advantages .
[0015] The features and advantages of the invention will be apparent from the following description of preferred exemplary embodiments thereof , provided purely by way of non-limiting example , with reference to the accompanying figures , wherein :- Fig . 1 to 6 show the sequential steps of the method for installing the lock in the door or window panel , in accordance with the present invention, according to one embodiment ;- Fig . 7 is a sectional view of the system and of the door or window panel on a sectional plane substantially parallel to the plane of the panel , in accordance with the present invention, according to one embodiment ;- Fig . 8 is a sectional view of the system, of the door or window panel and of the j amb of the door or window panel on a sectional plane substantially parallel to the plane of the panel , in accordance with the present invention, according to one embodiment ;- Fig . 9 is an enlarged detail o f some of the components shown in Fig . 8 ;- Fig . 10 shows some components of the connection device , in accordance with the present invention, according to oneembodiment ;- Fig . 11 shows a system according to the prior art .

When the sliding limit position is reached, the engagement element 415 encounters and engages the hole or groove 420, e.g., formed in the peripheral wall 25 of the box-like body 20, and preferably returns to an undeformed starting state thereby preventing any further movement of the box-like body 20 along the main axis X.
[0134] In one embodiment, the engagement element 415 comprises a surface 415' that is inclined with respect to the main axis X, on which the box-like body 20, preferably the perimeter wall 25, for example a main wall 26, 27, is intended to slide.
[0135] In particular, the inclined surface 415' is configured so as to facilitate the deformation of the engagement element 415 caused by the insertion of the boxlike body 20, for example sliding along the main axis X.
[0136] Preferably, the inclined surface 415' ends with a step 415' ' that is configured to abut against the peripheral wall 25 inside the hole or groove 420 thereby preventing any further movement of the box-like body 20.
[0137] In one embodiment of the invention, a door or window comprises a jamb, a panel 900 and a system 1 installed in the panel 900. The panel 900 comprises a lock compartment 950, preferably wherein the lock compartment 950 is divided into a first compartment 951 and a second compartment 952,for example along a main axis X .
[0138] The system 1 comprises a lock 10 and a connection device 4 that connects the lock 10 to the panel 900 , having the features described above .
[0139] Innovatively, the system, the door or window and the installation method according to the present invention largely ful fill the intended obj ect , overcoming the typical problems of the prior art insofar as they allow the front plate to be obtained without surface interruptions , in particular without threaded screws for fastening the lock to the door or window panel .
[0140] Advantageously, the lock is installed in the panel in a simpli fied manner .
[0141] Advantageously, the lock may be used in place of those locks that are already on the market .
[0142] Advantageously, no speci fic machining is required in order to obtain the lock compartment within the panel .
[0143] Advantageously, it is not necessary to provide additional components to be applied to the lock that must also meet the necessary aesthetic requirements in the sector .
[0144] It is clear that a person skilled in the art may make changes to the invention described above in order to meet contingent needs , which changes all fall within the scope of protection as defined in the following claims .
